  • Importing data with characterstics/Merchandise hierarchy in SAP IS Retail

    Hi All,
Im importing data into SAP IS Retail from MDM using ARTMAS04 message type using SAP XI. I have cetrain Merchandise hierarchy,Characterstics maintained in ECC as well as in MDM. The article category is "Generic Article". Im able to pass the valuse of characterstics and its values to ECC but idoc is not getting posted and gives an error msg" No Characterstics could be found for generic articles".
In a normal article creation in ECC using MM41 we have to create a variant for generic articles by passing characterstics and its values. How do i create a variant when im fetching data from MDM in XML format. Is there some setting required on ECC side.
Please let me know in case anyone has any clue.

  • Material group hierarchy in SAP Retail

    Hi Guru's;
I'm looking to load hierarchy of material group in BW.
In the SAP source system the used standard transaction WG21, WG22CLWM for managing retail material group hierarchy.
I suppose that from those transaction there is a BW hierarchy to recover this datas.
I found this datasource 0MATL_GROUP_LKLS_HIER but when i made a test in RSA3 i can't select any hierachy.
Why ? Is there something special for this hierarchy that i need to manage ?
    Thanks for Help

  • Product Costing in SAP Retail Solution

    Hi experts
I have a question about product costing in SAP Retail (SAP ECC 6.0).
In material master data (Tr. MM43 - Tr. MM42) Product Costing view for Logistics:CD sheet is activated.
Although, for Logistics:Store sheet is not activated.
In customizing, we have tried to activate the Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet, but there no standard dynpro to use it. So, we have some doubts:
    - Do we have to create customer (Z) dynpros in order to activate Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet?
    - Does SAP allows Product Costing functionality in SAP Retail solution?
If both answers are YES, i have another doubt:
    - In our business scenario, the store is supplied by the Distribution Center. So, does it make sense to run product costing for
    a articles in a Store?
We think it makes sense to apply product costing functionality in Distribution center. In order to analyze deviations from
Standard costs to real costs.  But we are not sure about Stores.
Does anyone have experience in customizing product costing functionality for a SAP retail in a Logistics:Store?
    Thank you for your time

    hi
Product hierarchy in R3 is termed as Merchandise category hierarchy in SAP IS retail
But in R3 Product hierarchy is not used much but Merchandise category hierarchy that is termed as MCH  is a basic thing reqd for defining master data that is article master data which is nothing but material master in R3
As i said Product hierarchy  levels are available in R3 also but not much used
Merchandise category hierarchy levels is most commonly used in SAP IS retail
What we call material group in R3 is same as Merchandise category in SAP IS retail and material in R3 is article in Retail
    Merchandise category hierarchy levels
Say a Retail mall has merchandise items
Under merchandise there are 2 divisions Food and non food
Under nonfood say there are 2 divisions  say hardware and apparel
Under apparel there   2 divisions  say Mens wear and ladies wear
Under mens wear you have t shirts, shirts and pants etc
Here t shirts, shirts and pants etc are individual articles
Menswear  and ladies wear are material groups
Hardware and apparel are merchandise hierarchy level 1
Food and non food merchandise hierarchy level 2
Retail mall is merchandise hierarchy level 3
like that hierarchy levels are commonly defined and used as a must to have efficient master data in SAP retail and the maximum no of hierarchy to have ideally is 6 apart from Merchandise category
In our example we have defined three levels
The same functionality can be used as product hierarchy in R3 also but doesnt been put in to use much
In Retail the no of articles a store is going to manage to be will be huge hence this sort of seggregation is needed there must
For more clarity try to post this in retail forum(Trading industries)

  • IS-Retail -Merchandise Hierarchy  IDOC creation through transaction WPMA

During creation of IDOC for Merchandise Hierarchy through transaction code WPMA & selecting transfer material groups in other data. System create segment for all merchandise hierarchy available in system. If we need to transfer only specific merchandise hierachy for that company code in POS system this is not possible. Also we cannot transfer delta changes in Merchandise hierarchy. Each time we create IDOC you need to transfer all hierarchy nodes.
Is there any transaction by which we can create IDOC for specific merchandise hierarchy.
    Pl suggest

    Thanks Vamsi
This will help a lot for me but in this linkages will not be able to analyse by POS system. This will not tell which node is connected to others & their levels. This is gap between WPMA & WAFS. You can send changes with WPMU but changes in node is not getting transfer through this. Thanks for input

  • Product hierarcy in SAP Retail?

    Hi,
I have heard that there is a possibility to have more then one product hierarcy in SAP Retail.
The std hierarcy (created in OVSV) is used for financial follow up but we need the possibility to have another hierercy for presenting the products to the customers in a structured way. I have herad that there are such possibilities in SAP Retail, but I cant find them.
Pls tell me if it is possible and also how I go about.
    Thanks,
    Emma

    Hi Emma,
In SAP IS Retail, if you wish to use hierarchy for presenting the products to the customers in a structured way. Then you can use either Article Hierarchy or Merchandise Category Hierarchy.
The Article Hierarchy in SAP ERP enables customers to structure goods based on customer-individual criteria. It is used in Planning, Operations and Reporting on different levels of aggregation.
    Path:
    Logistics --> Retailing --> Master Data > Article Hierarchy Data> Create           (WMATGRP01)
Whereas merchandise categories mostly observe physical attributes of the goods the article hierarchy groups articles from a sales perspective.
    Path:
Logistics --> Retailing --> Master Data --> Material Group Data --> Merchandise Category   (WG21)
Logistics --> Retailing --> Master Data --> Material Group Data --> Merchandise Category Hierarchy Level    (CLWM)
    Hope it helps.

  • Prepack vs Display in SAP retail

    Hi guys,
I am still struggling to understand the difference between prepack and Display in SAP retail.
Anyone has a good understanding of that?
    Cheers
    Julien

    Hi
    Prepack:
Variant from different generic articles belongs to same merchandise category grouped together as component and created with article category 11.
Prepacks are used in Fashion retail where merchant wants to order specific variants (color and size) rather than ordering all the variants from generic articles.
Vendor ship prepack articles and received in DC as prepack articles whereas it will be sold at component level in Store.
    Display
Variant from different generic articles belongs to different merchandise category grouped together as component and created with article category 12.
Vendor ship as display articles, stocks are maintained at DC as display articles but sold in store at component level.
Display articles are used in FMCG sectors mostly and to some extend it is used in Fashion as well. These articles generally kept at billing counters and customer will pick the components as they like it.

    Hi,
Valuation at retail in SAP Retail corresponds to all aspects of the retail inventory method as used in the trade. Valuation at Retail is transparent and easy to follow. When you use this method, inventory is updated in the article master at retail and at the same time in the Retail Information System (RIS), allowing you to carry out a number of powerful analyses.
Stock margins and inventory valuation in Financial Accounting are always up to date. And thanks to the integration of valuation at retail with Inventory Management and the integration of Inventory Management with Financial Accounting, Controlling and Profitability Analysis, the valuation data is consistent in all areas.
Valuation at retail can be used for both quantity and value-based Inventory Management and Inventory Management on a value-only basis. The following explains how you can best use valuation at retail for your requirements:
In SAP Retail, the valuation area must always correspond to a site.
In retailing it is common practice to record the retail price of inventory (retail method). Since it is extremely time-consuming to determine all the costs associated with the procurement of an article without the use of modern IT systems, it is all the more difficult to determine the delivered cost of merchandise. In view of this, the delivered cost of an article is usually taken as an average price calculated on the basis of the retail value.
    (a) Valuating inventory at delivered prices (cost inventory method)
You can only apply this method if you can ensure that all changes involving an article can be accurately recorded. What is known in the trade as the u201Ccost inventory methodu201D or the u201Ccost methodu201D involves valuating stocks at delivered prices and assigning costs to individual articles.
    (b) Valuating inventory at retail (retail inventory method)
What is known in the trade as the u201Cretail inventory methodu201D or the u201Cretail methodu201D involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level. Stock is updated at retail for every merchandise category and department. For balance sheet valuation purposes on the balance sheet key date, the delivered cost of the stock is worked out based on a gross margin between cost and retail.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
    Bye and all the best,
    Muralidhara

  • Characteristics in the material master (SAP Retail)

    Hi everybody,
Iu2019m using SAP Retail and I need to maintain characteristics in the material master. These characteristics are used to maintain additional information like u201Caccessoriesu201D and u201Cguaranteeu201D (Iu2019m not working with generic articles and variants).
Each characteristic need to be maintained in different languages:
Example: Guarantee u2013 In Portuguese the value should be u201C2 anosu201D and in English the value should be u201C2 yearsu201D.
There are no predefined values for these characteristics. We use additional values and the user can maintain a free text, but it should be different in Portuguese and in English.
One solution I can use is to create each Characteristic in English and in Portuguese, and then maintain different values for each one. Iu2019m trying to find a better solution because I have numerous Characteristics.
Does anyone know another way to solve this issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    SN

    Hi SN,
this requirement sounds a little bit strange.
Question 1: This field 'Guarantee' is  valid for all articles or for some articles only ( e.g merchandise categroy electronics)
Question 2: How do you name the Characteristic? is it Years or Ano or guarantee?
Question 3: using additional vlaues will kick out the value check. So it is like a free text entry. Of course this makes no sense, because you can also add 'g hello' als a valid value.
Why you choose this way ?
Question 4: What is the issue using fixed values? I guess the guarantee values are limited at all.
Question 5: Why you don't use a MARA append field and hide it on unwished mechandise categories. Thats easier to handle and a value check can be implemented.  So you are able to create a field with a unit in different languages
    e.g.    Guarantee          Years
    if you logon in english.
    regards
    Björn
PS: Did you tried the new characteristic strorage?

  • Import of Merchandise Hierarchy changes from other system

    Good day for everyone!
Can you please help me in this situation:
    1. We have two system - SAP and system for master data maintenance (call it MD).
    2. Merchandise Hierarchy structure creates in SAP and migrates to  MD system.
    3. All changes we want to make in MD system (creating/changing/deleting  hierarchy nodes, hierarchy reorganization, creating/changing/deleting attributes for hierarchy nodes) and then pass it in SAP.
Are there any standard instruments in SAP that can allow to transfer all making changes for Merchandise Hierarchy in MD system to SAP (reports, FM and so on)? Maybe anyone have experience with similar situation? I hope for help! Thank you for answers!

    Hi Olga:
The sceanrio is distribution from the sending system.  Standard transactions and ALE support transfer of Merchandise Category Hierarchy (MCH) and dependant objects (characteristics and values, for example).
There are four message types that will be sent: W_WGRP, CHRMAS, CLFMAS, and CLSMAS.  MCH objects have dependencies and therefore the sequence of these messages must be controlled, which requires the addition of a fifth message type: SERDAT.
It is important to understand that IDoc Serialization using message types is used when several different message types are dependent on each other, as is the case here.  For example, if a merchandise category is assigned to a merchandise category hierarchy level,  the merchandise category hierarchy level must first exist.
For this reason, the message types are grouped together in a serialization group, in which the processing sequence is defined.  There is a standard serialization group for this purpose: GRP_W_WGRP.
Use the following path to configure inbound processing:
SALE > Modeling and Implementing Business Processes > Master Data Distribution > Serialization for Sending and Receiving Data > Serialization Using Message Types > Define Inbound Processing
Here is an outline of the steps:
    1. SALE - Configuration of Serialization of IDoc processing
    2. SM59 – Create RFC destination
    3. WE21 – Create an RFC Port
    4. BD64 – Create Distribution Model
    5. WE20 – Create Outbound Partner Profile
    6. WE20 – Create Inbound Partner Profile
    7. WGSE – ALE MCH Objects
Please also take note of the following standard reports:
RBDSER01 creates the IDocs for a serialization group.
RBDSER02  dispatches the IDocs belonging to a serialization group.
RBDSER03  checks whether all the IDocs have been successfully sent to the receiving system. If they have, a control message of message type SERDAT is sent to the receiving system and posts the serialization group there.
RBDSER04 is for processing of inbound IDocs of a serialization group can be directly started by the Report RBDSER04.
You will want to also consider maintaining Reference Articles in the sending system and distribution of Reference Articles using ALE too.  This is because Reference Articles are assigned to the Merchandise Category.  The standard transaction for this is BD10.
In addition to the manual transactions and reports, change pointers can also be used to distribute the master data.

  • SAP Retail Store

Can you please confirm for me the following:
In the Master Guide SAP for Retail Business Suite 2009 Document Version 1.2 u2013 October 2009, there are two scenarios for SAP Retail Store:
    Scenario1: In-Store Merchandise and Inventory Management (ITS) .................................................. 32
Scenario2: In-Store Merchandise and Inventory Management (Web Dynpro)..................................... 36
    1) Is it true that the technical system landscape as depicted on page 32 requires an ITS 640 (i.e. the older version of NetWeaver04) to front end the Retail Server based on ERP6.0 EhP3 (i.e. NW7.0)? Or is this an error (may be a carryover from NW04 documentation) and that the Integrated ITS 7.0 which is part of the NW7.0 Web AS of the Retail Server ERP6.0 EhP3 can be used instead?
    2) While the two different scenarios are using two different technologies (i.e. ITS vs WebDynpro), they are also providing different functionallies as well, do you agree? If so, both can be used in parallel and scenario 2 doesn't replace scenario1. Is this a valid statement?
e.g. Scenarion 1 (ITS) covers: procurement, goods movement, and sales postings, as well as processes for vendor, assortment, and price management. There are also processes for physical inventory, product
lookup, promotions, and food services and catering.
whereas Scenario 2 (WedDynpro) covers: sales, service, and operations business functions stores require to run effectively on a daily basis
    3) In Scenarion 2, it is mentioned that BI 7.0 and BI Content add-on 7.03 are mandatory component, is this true and if so why? Or can I use Scenario 2 without having to upgrade my BW3.5 to BI 7.0?
Please respond as much as possible after each question while providing supporting notes or links to your answers.
    Thanks,
    Tobi

    Hi,
This business function uses the following BC sets:
The business fn names and their description are given below:
    EA-RETAIL-AKH
Extends the application component hierarchy to include entries for SAP Retail
    EA-RETAIL-IMG
Extends the implementation guide (IMG) to include entries for SAP Retail
    EA-RETAIL-MENU
Extends the SAP menu to include entries for SAP Retail
The listed BC sets are activated automatically if your system is run as SAP Retail.
Also regarding the changing of scenario, once you create the scenario you can go to customization and change it.

  • What is Buisness partner group hierarchy in sap crm

    Hi,
what is Buisness partner group hierarchy, what is the importence of this in sap crm
i wanted to know the detailed documentation for Buisness partner group hierarchy
    Thanks&Regards
    kishore kumar

    hi there
what you are saying as Business Partner Group hierarchy is actually the account hierarchy inside the BP which can be created using the Bp groups
here it is what it is and why its important
    Account Hierarchies
    Use
The account hierarchy allows you to map complex organizational structures of a business partner (for example, buying group, co-operative or chain of retail outlets).
When you create a hierarchy structure, you form groups of business partners (for example, for purchasing groups). You can use them for statistical purposes and for marketing analyses.
You can use the hierarchy for pricing. Pricing is carried out using conditions such as pricing arrangements that are stored at a higher level of an organizational structure and can be transferred to the lower levels.
    Integration
You can transfer a customer hierarchy from SAP ECC to the account hierarchy in SAP CRM.
For more information, see Replicating ERP Customer Hierarchies to SAP CRM.
You can also exchange the account hierarchy with CRM Mobile Client.
    Features
With the help of business partner groups, you can create hierarchy nodes in order to construct a hierarchy structure. For this purpose, the type of hierarchy is first determined based on the hierarchy category.
Hierarchy structures that are created in CRM Enterprise are sales area-independent.
The condition maintenance for pricing is integrated in the account hierarchy maintenance function.
