Merge albums in PSE10 Organizer

The help instruction say to select albums to merge, then right click the album to be merged, whereupon choice to merge will be offered. However, all I get is offer to delete the album. Using Shift, Ctrl, or Alt keys in combination with right click does nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Please follow the steps mentioned below:
1. Select the album that you want to merge while pressing CTRL key.
2. Right click and choose "Merge Albums"
3. Merge Albums dialog will be popped.
4. Select the albums to receive the merge. (all other albums will be deleted)
5. Click OK

I imported my iPhoto library to the new Photos app. I see all my events (now called "albums") from iPhoto, but I'm no longer able to drag and drop one album into another. Is this no longer possible?
I understand I can create folders and drop multiple albums into there, but with how I organize my library, I'd prefer to just combine albums. It's how I did it in iPhoto and with how many photos I have stored in my library, It would take me weeks to reorganize them all.

Although you cannot "merge" albums like you used to be able to in iPhoto, you can Add Photos to another album. Just select the photos you would like moved to another folder and than choose the plus sign in the top right corner > album > change 'New Album' to 'The Events' and locate your previous album name that you would like the photos to be moved too > OK.
Now this will duplicate the album, so make sure to delete the original folder that is now out of place.

Photoshop.com sharing and storage has been discontinued, and therefore Elements 10 can no longer communicate with it. If you allowed migration, then your photos should be safely stored in Revel and you can login using the same username and password you used in photoshop.com to see them. Revel does not have connectivity with Elements 10. Elements 11 is the first version of Elements that can communicate with Revel.

Moving Multiple photos within albums in the Organizer...

How do I select and move multiple files between albums in the Organizer? Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on an imac with Lion. (New to Mac - previous PC user for years!)

You can select the images you want to move and drag drop the other album name on them.
As of removing the album association with the older album, simply right click the selected set of files >> Remove from Album >> (album name)

Smart albums look like this: They have a "gears" symbol in the icon:
Regular albums will show a stack of pictures in the icon:
If you want to create a regular album, that you can drag your photos to, select some photos that you want in the album and use the command "File > New Album".

How do I merge albums in Photos 1.0?

Merging Albums in Cloud Photo

Hey all,
Thanks for your help in advance, Im gueesing this is really simple but I just cannot figure it out.
I have importing all of my photos / events from iPhoto to the new Photo app, it has all gone well and had no issues.
I want to merge albums like i used to do previously in iPhoto by dragging one into another but this does not work in this app, and I cannot figure out how to do it.
Also what is the new folders feature?

Almost like in iPhoto: open Album A and select all of the photos. Drag the photo onto the Album B icon. Once you've confirmed that the A photos are in the B album you can delete the A album if so desired.

PSE10 Organizer to Flickr.

If I transfer photos from PSE10 Organizer to Flickr do the captions/descriptions also get transferred?

Those captions/description can be viewed in Flickr if you click on Additional Info on right side of flickr page. They do not get published under the photo but get added as a metadata which can be viewed through metadata page.

Multiple problems with PSE10 Organizer

I have Photoshop Elements 10 that I am using with Windows XP with Service Pack 3, a Pentium 4 CPU with 3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 48.6 GB of free disk space. I have had multiple problems with Organizer since I started using it.
When I first got PSE10, I imported 8 years of my photos into one catalog in Organizer. I'm not sure how many images were included in this catalog but from what I've read, there's no limit to the number of images that can be placed in a catalog.
Question: Is there any limit to the number of images that can be put into one catalog?
Catalog A
Problem 1) People recognition didn't work. When I tried to find people for tagging, the feature didn't work. After researching the problem online, I found that others who had the same problem solved it by rebuilding the catalog a few hundred images at a time. I deleted the original catalog with all of my images and created a new catalog with just 800 images from this year. Then, people recognition worked, and I was able to tag people. The only other feature that I have used in Catalog A is that I have edited a few images to improve exposure. I have not rated images, stacked them, renamed them or created albums. With this catalog, the Organizer and the Editor still work together so when I select a photo in Organizer to fix, the Editor opens up with the photo for editing like it is supposed to do.
Catalog B
I created another catalog that had about 900 different images from a European tour. I deleted some of those images so there are now 760 images in this catalog. At first, all the Organizer features seemed to work fine in this catalog. I was able to pull photos from Organizer to fix in the Editor. I rated all the images, stacked and renamed some photos and created several albums under an album category.
Problem 2) A couple of days ago, the Organizer and the Editor stopped working together. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set.
Question: How do I get the Organizer & Editor to work together again?
Problem 3) The Exif data has disappeared on quite a few of the images in Catalog B even though the Complete radio button is highlighted under the Properties panel. Some of those images were never edited or re-saved.
Question: How do I get the Exif data back into Properties.
Problem 4) Yellow question marks continue to appear on the top left of some images even though these images have not been moved. The Organizer searches for the "missing file" and finds it quickly but why is it "missing"? I have gone through the albums in this catalog, completed the missing file searches on all the images so that no yellow question marks appear and when I go back to the catalog the next time I find the yellow question marks are there again!
Question: Why does Organizer think the files are missing? Why isn't the file location remaining the same?
Problem 5) When I re-opened Catalog A with the general 2012 images, I got a message that my watched folder had new photos to import. When I clicked on ok, the next window brought up 3 photos that were already in Catalog B of my European tour that were taken in September. Somehow, the Date Created and the Dated modified had been changed from 9/12 to 11/12 so the Organizer thought they were new images when they were not.
Questions: Shouldn't the Date Created remain constant? The Date Created does not seem to represent the date the picture was taken, so what does that date represent? How can I keep the date created from being changed?
Both Catalogs
All of the images in both catalogs show creation dates that are later than the date modified, (example: date created of 6/12 and a date modified of 3/12).
Question: How is it possible that the date created is later than the date modified?

A lot of questions hmm!!! Let me try to answer few of them.
Question: Is there any limit to the number of images that can be put into one catalog?
Ans: No, you can import as many images in catalog you want. Just to add, as the size of catalog grows, Organizer's perfromance will be affected.

Ans: As you mentioned in your comments, you have deleted some files (i assume from explorer). But these deleted files are still present in Organizer. Since the deletion happened outside the organizer, so Organizer is unaware of the deletion. So when organizer tries to read the files (which were deleted), Organizer is unable to find then and thus thinks that files are missing.
Questions: Shouldn't the Date Created remain constant? The Date Created does not seem to represent the date the picture was taken, so what does that date represent? How can I keep the date created from being changed?
Ans: Date created represents the date on which the files was created on your files system (or into OS). It is not date when the images was shot (actual shot date is Date time Original in Organizer).
Question: How is it possible that the date created is later than the date modified?
Ans: A simple way to do it is-Suppose you have an image which was brought/copied on July (i am explaining this with the help of month only. Assume date to be 1st and year to 2012). Now change the system date to August. Edit this image in Editor (without creating a version set for easy illustration). Now date created is July and date modified is Aug.
Copy this fine on flash drive/pen drive. Delete the original file from windows. Change the system date to Sept. Now copy the file in windows and see its properties. It has Date created as Sept and date modified as Aug, which answers you question.
I am unable to fully understand your remaining questions. Please elaborate.

Artist and Album Panes in Organizer View of Media Sourc

When I plug in my older Zen Nomad, I see three panes in the organizer view for the player's library (select the player in the Sources pane)?-- the larger track pane to the right, full height, and an artist and album pane in the middle, split vertically. When I plug in my new Zen Vision:M, I only see the single track listing pane when I select the player (or select the Music folder). The artist and album panes are missing. I can't find any way to make them visible. How do I do that?Thanks much,Paul?

Right now, I have have everything installed on my PC?(MediaSource, both plug-ins, and the NOMAD driver). Obviously both devices have their firmware installed. ;-)? Everything is working, except for the inability to browse the Vision:M as a "music library." I had previously updated the NOMAD's firmware to the latest?..0, and I haven't changed it for all this. The Vision:M was already running the latest PlaysForSure?.20.02 firmware when I received it, so I didn't touch that. For the uninstall/reinstall discussed above, I was only changing software on my PC. I'm using MediaSource Player/Organizer 5.0.38. The NOMAD plug-in is the Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox Plugin 5.00.22. The NOMAD driver is the Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver 2.0.00. The Vision:M plug-in is the Creative PlaysForSure Devices Plugin 5.00.36. I tried software both from the Vision:M CD (which installed that horrible web based organizer), and from the downloads section of Creative's support web site (which is what I have installed now). Looking at the compatibility notes for all the software, it doesn't look like I can go back to the older MediaSource 3.30.2 I was using with the NOMAD?and use any available?Vision:M plug-in with it, so I didn't try rolling MediaSource back. It seems from my testing that the PlaysForSure?plug-in/drivers for the Vision:M do not present the device to MediaSource as something that is a "music library" and therefore MediaSource does not browse it with the same interface as it does the NOMAD. As I mentioned, it's already become pretty silly to try and browse just the 20 albums I've loaded so far, when all I can do is navigate to the Music folder and see a list of all the individual tracks. I can't even find a way to browse a list of albums or artists -- all I can do is sort by those columns which has very limited usability. Any ideas or tips appreciated. I'm guessing most people use some other software for managing their Vision:M libraries. What do they use? I had gotten used to MediaSource with the NOMAD and was hoping I could still use it for both. PSE10 Organizer won't open. Had an online chat which didn't help

Hi all - very frustrated. I have been running PSE8 for some time now and have just purchased PSE10 to keep myself current. The install seems to go OK but when the welcome screen comes up and I choose organizer, the program just closes. No error message, nothing - just closes. I can choose editor and that loads fine. If I then choose the organiser tab in the top right of the editor screen I just get a white box in the editor screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, performed a system restore from a previous restore point but no luck.
I have had 2 online chats, both of which seem to be very scripted asking me to do a range of things like going into the elements directory and opening organizer from there whilst holding down ctrl + shft , renaming catalogues, creating new user acounts with admin priviledges etc. but that does not work either.
I have sometimes had problems with PSE8 opening the organiser with it just shutting down, but always the 2nd time I open it, it works no problems.
As it stands I'm close to residing myself to being stuck with PSE8, but I don't want to be forever held at this point. Don't know if I can face another 2 hour online chat being asked to perform the same actions!
If anyone can help me to overcome this I'd get them a beer!

I must admit I feel a bit fooloish as I followed your instructions without reading them first, hence when I got to the end you ask for the processes I ended, I didn't note them down! Anyhow, off the top of my head there was 3 processes I ended. One was an Adobe QTxxxx type process, one said elements and the other said elements organizer.
Your help is much appreciated. I'm close to picking up my hammer to "fix" it once and for all!

Merging albums in iTunes

I have uploaded CDs 1 to 4 of a large compilation on my Macbook Pro. The last 3 CDs appear as a single album in iTunes while the first one is standing alone. I would like to merge all 4 CDs into a single iTunes album. How do I do that?

Just make sure all tracks have the same album title (and it has to match exactly; even an extra space will look like a different title to iTunes). For more details and options, see:

PSE10 Organizer crashes when using the "find a missing person" button

I have been using PSE10 for about six months and have about 10500 images in the catalog, mostly digital but also some scanned slides I have been gradually adding. All images have been added using the "find files" button. I have been making use of tagging by using the people recognition routine and have reached the point where PSE10 says all people have been found. Since then I have gone through about 1000 individual images using the "find a missing person" button with good success until recently. Now when I try to save the tag after using the button Organizer crashes with the message "Elements 10 Organizer has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and will notify you if a solution is available". I have tried optimizing and repairing the catalog without sucess. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling PSE10, also without success. The catalog is in a custom location but has been since shortly after I started using PSE10 and well before this problem started. With the amount of time and effort spent doing this tagging I would not like to have to start over with a new catalog if a solution can be found. My computer is Vista 64-bit with 8GB memory. This problem is driving me nuts!! HELP!!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. There were several error entries for PSE all of which had the same description up to but not including "process ID". This was the result of restarting PSE10 several times. Information above is from the last restart.

Merge Tags - Elements 9 Organizer

Can anyone please explain how the merge tags option works in Elements 9 Organizer. I can't seem to find any documentation on this feature.

You could try the services trick.
In the Organizer you can go to Edit à Preferences à Adobe Partner Services
Under Location you can use the Choose button and then change to United States & Canada. SmugMug then usually appears in the list of services.

PSE10 Organizer Window Startup Control

When I open the organizer, I like to use the Folder Location Display option. But no matter how I get the window located the previous time I had PSE 10 open, the Folders window increases in horizontal size to cover 40% of my screen. The contents folder narrows. I like the properties window to be on the bottom right and, while it stays open on rebooting, only the least amount of it shows.
This used to hold in all previous versions of PSE. It really is annoying that it doesn't now.
Can someone help?

For the Properties pane, you need to click on the "Docking" icon to dock or undock the pane to the right-hand panel:
Then, a single click on the vertical separator bar will hide or show the entire panel.

When I drag the separator bar for the folder panel, the size of that panel persists between sessions. This is with PSE10 on Win7 x64. I'm running Organizer as a window (not maximized) and start Organizer from its own icon, bypassing the Unwelcome Screen.
