"Merge"/combine different iViews on a page

Hello,
I wish to realise the following requirement:
Imagine 2 users A and B.
We have 3 iViews i1, i2 and i3.
i1 is assigned to role1, i2 is assigned to role2, i3 is assigned to role3.
User A has role1 and role3, user B has role2 and role3.
If user A is logged in, he should see one page with iView i1 and i3.
If user B is logged in, he should see one page with iView i2 and i3.
So I have to combine different iViews on a page depending on the roles.
Is this possible?

Try This
1.Apply Role merging Concept with R1andR3 and Assign to User 1
now user 1 can see iview1 andiview3
2.same as above Assign R2andR3 roles to User2 with merging role concept
Merging role Concept:
Suppose For User one
Role1 - Iview1,
Role3- Iview3
set the MergeID property of the 2 Roles with Common Id(like id should be "p" for both roles)
set the Merge priority Ex for role1 is 5 and for role3 is 2
then the role with less priority will be displayed to the particular user and both the iviews will be displayed

Adobe PDF Pack is an online subscription--it definitely allows you to combine several files into one PDF file. For more information about PDF Pack, see Reliably Create PDFs, Convert PDFs, & Merge PDFs Online | Adobe PDF Pack. If you don't have the full version of Acrobat, this is a great solution for combining PDF files.
However, if you're using Acrobat (not Adobe Reader), you combine files by following these steps:
Open a PDF file that you want to add pages to.
Click the Pages pane on the Tools panel (on the right side of the application).
Click Insert From File, and choose the file that you want to combine with the PDF that you opened in step 1.
Make any changes necessary in the Insert Pages dialog box--these settings determine where the new file will be inserted.
Click OK.

How Do I get data merge to work without creating duplicate pages in a single page native file?

I've called Adobe about this and they indicated it was some kind of setting that needed to be changed in InDesign, but wouldn't tell me how to do it unless I paid for an "incident pack" and talked with technical support.
Problem: I have a single page document in InDesign CS5. It's a direct-mail postcard with large high-res images and complicated graphics on it. I want to merge a list of recipients names/addresses from Excel with this single-page design. Excel document has 2,000 names in it.
I successfully create the merge using InDesign's data merge feature, but it creates a new InDesign document with 2,000 pages in it. Each page is a duplicate of my original file, but with different addresses on each page. Because of the multiple records and the high res images it has created 2,000 duplicates of - InDesign crashes. It also took about 4 hours to do the merge.
There has got to be a better way to merge data w/o it created the same page over and over again.
I can't make a pdf to solve this problem becasue I have to work with an in-house printer and they do a poor job of printing from pdf. So, I always send them native files. This printer does not have variable data software. However, if that is the fast and easy solution to this problem - I will force them to purchase it.
Any advise or solution to this problem would be appreciated. Is there a setting in InDesign that needs to change so it doesn't repeat the single page design 2,000 times and cause InDesign to crash?

That's exactly how Data Merge works. If it's on the page, it gets duplicated. 2000 records is a lot, so I'm not sure if the images or the sheer number is what's slowing things down.
One thing you can try is to moove everything EXCEPT the merge placeholders to a master page, then assign the [None] master to the page with the placeholder anbd do the merge. Change the master to the one with your static content after the merge. That might speed up the merge, but it won't do anything for the file being 2000 pages that each has to RIP for printing. The best way to deal with this is to find a printer who can do VDP printing and give him the template file and your data file, and let him do the merge in the print stream.

Script to merge 2 Indesign files on alternating pages

I have created a data merge document for a book I am writing (Luckily I already had everything in Excel) . I created a template with the style headings and graphics frames positioned and sized exactly where I wanted them.My master page had repeating elements etc.
Loved the process and it worked beautifully. It literally saved me a weeks worth of formatting and inserting graphics work. However the file basically created the Left hand page ONLY of a 2 page spread.
My understanding from studying tutorials on data merge is that they can only create ONE page output altho I know you can change it to 2 page spreads afterward.
The second data merge created a file what would ideally be the right hand page of every spread.
This is a reference/encyclopedia type book with each 2 page spread a distinct entity devoted to a subject
I need to join the 2 files together.
The first file would be the left hand or EVEN page
The second file would be the right hand or ODD page.
The document is 350 pages.Each page is the same size,margins and subject matter but with different headings and graphics
(Dragging pages would be too tedious and I have had problems with ID crashing. Don't want to go there again)

I have ID CS4 6.0 running on windows vista.
I have ZERO scripting experience but I can follow directions.
Is there any way, scripting wise, I could (or should) accomplish this?

That isn't true. Data merge can be done with many pages. See my response to this post:

In response to the OP's script request, i can't be of any help.
What i'm hoping is that after reading how to make a data merge with both left and right hand pages from the post i've linked, that the data could be merged again... assuming there was little (or no) post-processing of the file after the merge was performed.

To include a link to an iview in a page.

Hi,
I want to include a link to several iviews in the same page (subscriptions, my tasks ...).
If I include the content of the iview in the page, it is difficult to see so much information.
I think it could be a good idea to include links to the different iviews instead of the content, so it could have a better aspect and it would be easy to see the information. I don't know how to do it, even I don't know if it's possible to do it without developing.

2 generic table iviews in 1 page in 7.0

Im working on a mss-solution in 7.0, where I need to have 2 or more generic table iveiws in one page, working together with the generic employee seach iview. But I cant get it to work. As soon as I put 2 different table iveiws on the same page, the content in the 2 tables is identical, dispite they are reporting 2 different queries.
If I do the same in 5.0 or 6.0, it works perfectly.
Has anyone experienced the same and found a solution?

It is possible to have a page with two generic table iviews displaying different content!. The issue of the two
generic table iViews showing up with the same content on your installation might be caused by creating the iViews based on the SAME FPM-view assigned to the corresponding FPM-application.
Let me give you a brief step-by-step description of how to create a page containing two generic table iviews displaying different content based on the Generic iView Testpage:
1. Go to Self-Service Administrator and open the FPM-Application belonging to 'Test Generic iView'. Path is 'Portal Content -> Content provided by SAP -> srvconfig -> com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss -> Generic iView'. Open the corresponding FPM application
Select step 'Define Perspectives'
2. Select the 'Generic iView table' FPM view from 'Generic iView'-> FPM Views and choose 'Add FPM view to perspective'
    via right mouse-click menu.
3. Enter an ID for the view within the perspective and maintain the properties accordingly (i.e. enter an appropriate query)
4. Save the FPM Application..
5. Go to Content Administration.
6. expand 'Portal Content -> Content provided by SAP' -> line_manager -> iViews
Choose 'New iView' from right mouse menu.
7. Choose 'Web Dynpro Java application' and press 'Next'
8. Choose 'Create one iView from each application view' and press 'Next'
9. Choose your 'Generic iView Table' under msseeprogenericiview -> com.sap.xss.hr.eeprofile.genericiview.TestGenericIview
-> TestGenericIview and press 'Next'
10. Fill in iView Name and ID and press 'Next'
11. Deselect 'Open page wizard to create WebDynpro page' and press 'Next
12. Press 'Finish'.
13. Choose 'Close wizard' and press 'Ok'.
14. Open the 'Generic iView Test' page under 'Pages -> HCM'
15. Select the new iView create as described above and choose 'Add iView to page' -> 'Delta Link' via right mouse menu
16. Adjust Page Layout if necessary.
17. Save the 'Generic iView Test' page
Follow the above guide to add a second Generic Table iView to your Test Page. The page should show up then with two list and two table iViews and a TeamViewer. After selecting an employee in the TeamViewer the two generic table iViews should show up with different content.

Getting the profile of all iviews in a page

Hi All,
I am having 2 iViews created from a single par in a page.
These iviews display some data in the form of a tree view.
The content of these iviews are different and are based on
a profile property value specified in portalapp.xml.
On click of the personalize option, another component (page) is
invoked which displays a similar tree view which can be edited.
The problem is this works fine if there's only one iview in a
page. If there are two or more iviews, the profile property
value retrieved got in the code is the same for all the iviews which
should actually be different for different iviews.
Can anyone guide me how to get all the profile properties correctly?

Changing iView inside a page

Hello all,
I've created a page which contains 2 iViews.
I need that one of the iViews (a WebDynpro iView), will command the page to replace the 2nd iView.
How can I do that?!? I've tried loading different iViews using the WDPortalNavigation class, but that loads the iView on the entire page, I need it to load on the same page my webdynpro application is running, without shutting it down (I'm using the WebDynpro application as a menu with different parameters...)

there might be a better solution availlable but I solved this issue by introducing a proxy iview that listens to request parameters to load other iviews into an iframe.

CAn you combine different icloud accounts? For some reason, my new iphone 6 keeps on popping up an old email address for icloud.

When you delete the account from your device, you will be given the opportunity to save Safari data, reminders, calendars and contacts to your device, which you can later merge with the other account once you login.
You won't be able to save your photo stream photos in the same way, so if you have any photo stream photos that are not already in your camera roll, you should move them there before you delete your account.
Your iWork documents can be saved to iTunes on your device, but if you have them on a Mac they would be much easier to save to your desktop there. You can move them back after you switch.
Notes can be shared to messages or mail and copy and pasted back after the switch. Although if you have a Mac, you may find it easier to do there. You could also use a temporary secondary account (see last item) to log into both accounts and copy and paste directly into your other account.
You can set up Mail forwarding at iCloud.com mail preferences (little gear icon-bottom left) to receive mail from your old address to your new one.
As an alternative to just switching, you might consider switching and adding your previous account back as a secondary account at settings > mail, contacts, calendars. You would still need to move your photos and iWork documents and save your safari data, but you'd have access to your old mail, contacts, calendars, reminders and notes.

A single report can't combine portrait and landscape oriented pages

Can a single report in Crystal report XI (version 11.5.8.826) combine portriat and landscape oriented pages like Crystal report 2008? For example, I have one main report with several subreports in the main report. I want one subreport be in portrait page orientation and the other subreports in landscape. Can I do something like that in Crystal report XI version? I even tried writing a small .net program to do this, but it doesn't seem to allow me to do that programmatically either. Please help

I'd like to elevate this issue with Crystal Reports XI. There is a critical application which we developed in-house which needs both portrait and landscape orientation in each of the 30,000 plus documents we are sending out every month.If developers in Business Objects are picking this thread up - we need a patch for this limitation - quick. Right now, we are toying with the possibility of exporting the documents into a text format with markers indicating if a page is portrait or landscape. This is to be loaded into a Xerox machine (which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars), where it is mapped automatically to portrait or landscape. Note to Business Objects: This will provide us and countless others with much value. Think 80/20 rule - most bang for your development bucks and value for your customers!

Different headers on each page of a Pages document

I searched for this, but every answer seemed to be some variation on "there's no reason to put a different heading on each page of a document". I do require this function, though, and was wondering if there's any way to do it.

I found on my computer, if you click on the header you can change it on each page. There is also a place in Set Up under Sections at the bottom of the page that has a drop down to create a new Section either 'Starting with this section' or 'After this section'. Hope this helps. Also at the top there is a place under Headers & Footers to choose either 'hide on first page of section' or 'match previous section'. I believe if you deselect the 'match previous section' you can easily change the header or footer for each page.

I recently upgraded to iWork v9.0.3, but when I access each applications the versions are different (i.e. Pages V.4.1, Numbers V2.6, Keynote V5.1.1) with a install date of 3/18/09 -- which is not the current install date of 2 weeks ago. Why?

Shouldn't Pages, Numbers, and Keynote show version 9.?? My MAC confirned installation of v9.0.3 and even accepted the software code. With this discrepancy, how can I determine if the latest was installed and operational? I even downloading v9.0.4, 9.0.5, and 9.1. When I tried installing these downloads it popped up note stating that a later version of Keynote was already installed.

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

2.> How i created Transaction iview ?

       You can attach your application to web Dynpro IView, for this login into portal, in the Content Management tab right click on a folder, then New --> IView. Select WD java Application. Select your application and create an Iview.

       Similarly, instead of selecting WD java Application, select iView template, you will get a list of available templates, and in this you will find template for Transaction Iview, in this template define the Tx for which you want to create the template.

      No, I dont think you can attach your application to transaction Iview. but, you can attach both IViews on single page.
4.> Can i display My application iview and transaction iview in single page ?
      Yes, you can attach both IViews on single page. Again in Content Management tab, crate a PAGE; Then right click on created IViews and select add IView to Page ßß: Delta Link.
