If you're using Outlook for these exchange accounts, you can try exporting the account's contacts as a vcard file which can then be uploaded to iCloud (or Yahoo, GMail, etc.)  There are also apps you can put on your iPhone to export your contacts as a vcard file, and I'm pretty sure these will export contacts from Exchange accounts even though the contacts don't actually reside on your phone.

  • Is there a way to merge contacts from two files

I am in panic!  In my contacts I am missing 100's of addresses.  I have other saved contact files.  Is there a way to import them and have duplicates or some way to view them with out importing them and replacing what I have?

That is good for contacts that are already imported but my problem is in iMail I went to import another file that had an extension .abbu after it.  When I click to import it asks me if I'm sure I want to replace the original contacts.  I am asking is there a way to add them and then delete or merge the duplicates?

  • How do i sync contacts on two iphones from the same computer without merging the contacts

I called tech support and they suggested I set up a separate user account on my computer and that should create a new windows contact file (which it did).  When I sync the iphone from the new user account, it seems to still be syncing to the windows contacts folder in the main administrator account and not the newly created account.  iIconfirmed this because i deleted one contact from the iphone and one contact from the new windows contact folder.  I then did a sync and no changes occurred on phone or the windows contact folder in teh new user account.  I then went to the original user account and teh name I deleted from teh iphone was deleted from that windows folder.  I am not able to select any different folder to sync contacts with in the itunes "info" tab. Do I need to set up under a completely different computer?

I called support and they helped me realize the " sync contacts with windows contacts" was unchecked (maybe I didn't click sync or apply when I first checked it?).  He helped me clean up some unnecessary contacts by clicking the contacts box in the advance tab and removing names directly from the windows contacts folder before syncing.

  • Merging Contacts From iPhone to iCloud

This is not a question.  This is an explanation of how to merge contacts from iPhone to iCloud.
I cant believe how difficult Apple makes this process.  I figured it out on my own because Apple does not explain it.  In fact, Apple hasn't even provided directions or guidance on this topic since 2012.
Here it is.  Go to Settings on your iPhone.  Go to iCloud.  Un-hook the slider next to Contacts.  Hook the slider next to Contacts.  A pop up asks Merge, hit merge.  This will copy all contacts in your iPhone to the Cloud.
Apple needs to get back to basics or risk losing customers.

    Hello jessica13loose
If the contacts are solely on your iPhone and not apart of iCloud, go to Settings > iCloud and turn off Contacts. It will ask if you want to delete or keep the contacts on your iPhone. Go ahead and keep them on your iPhone. When that is done, turn it back on and iCloud will merge all that contact data back onto iCloud.

How can I transfer contacts from my iPhone to a new iPad with another Apple-ID?

You can't. Not directly anyway. You might be able to import them to your computer and then sync them to the iPad but there is no way to transfer them over the air or by connecting the two devices with a cable.
I know absolutely nothing about apps like this, but I did a very quick Google search and found this.

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
    and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
    and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

  • How Can I sync contacts FROM my iPhone TO my AOL E-mail?

How can I sync contacts FROM my iPhone TO my AOL E-mail? In other words, I want to keep all of my iPhone contact information intact and make AOL "mirror" it (and not wipe it out when I sync thru iTunes).

The iPhone supports syncing contacts with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with Windows Contacts with Windows, and with the Address Book or with the Entourage address book on a Mac.
If you aren't currently using one of the supported applications on your computer for contact info - the supported address book application on your computer is empty, before syncing contacts enter one contact in the supported application on your computer. Make this contact up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data with the supported application on your computer, which you want to select.
After this, you can export the contacts from the supported application on your computer that is supported for import by your AOL online address book - if AOL includes such an option.

  • How do i remove my wife's iphone contacts from my iphone?

As a family we have three iphones and two ipads. So I recently bought an imac to make things easier instead of our old pc. but in the process of setting it up, i imported all my contacts from my iphone and ipad onto the icloud and as a result, they appeared in my husband's iphone - he had around 100 contacts, and now has around 3,000 with mine too. I am now in serious trouble with my husband as he cannot find his own small contacts quickly. How can i remove my contacts from his phone? and will he lose all his contacts if he deletes them all from his phone?

Are you using the the same icloud id.  you can also look to the right on this forum you'll see More Like This - there might be a solution.

  • How can I put photos from two iphones in one library?

I want to use one family Macbook pro for downloading photos from two iphones with separate apple IDs.  In other words, we'd like to have all our photos stored in one library on the Macbook.  Possible, and if so how does one set it up?

If you use iPhoto on the Macbook you can merge the photos from multiple cameras (iPhones) into one library. The Apple Id is irrelevant for this.

get a merge of your stuff and all his stuff
better option is to use iCloud

I have lost my all contact from my iPhone, Can we get them back. If yes then HOW ?
and second thing is that my email icon is not being open please help.

There are two ways to have photos on the iPhone. First is the camera roll, these are the pictures you have taken with the iPhone camera. The second are pictures that are synced to the iPhone through iTunes from the computer you sync with.
The pictures in the camera roll are designed to by imported to the computer just like photos taken with any digital camera. They are not designed to be only stored on the iPhone.
If you imported the pictures to the computer or performed a backup of the iPhone prior to the attempt to upgrade software on the phone, all you need to do is restore from a backup. If you did not create a backup, you can look for the last backup you made if the pictures would have been included in that backup. Unfortunately, in that last case, you will also lose everything you have done since that backup.
If you have been backing up or syncing with iCloud, the pictures should be there.  If you have not done any of the above, the pictures are lost.

  • How to save contacts FROM an iphone 3GS

My main computer with which my iphone has been synced (grammar?) has irretrievably died. I have backups of most of my music, apps etc. can be downloaded again but I have about 500 contacts on my iphone which I need to keep and save on my new iMac. Not surprisingly when I plug in the iphone iTunes asks me if I want to erase it and sync with the new computer. Presumably if I do this then all my contacts will be lost.
Is there some program I can use to save my contacts from the iphone to the Mac and then re-sync them back again onto the iphone?
    Thanks

The iphone, by design, will sync itunes content with ONE computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. That's what the message means you're getting. Since you've backed up your itunes library & added such to your new computer, this won't be a problem. Regarding your contacts & other data, do the following:
If you restore all of your data(photos, music, apps) to your new computer, including your itunes library, you'll be OK. Remember, the itunes library sync is one way, computer>phone. Same with photos not in your camera roll, one way, computer>phone. Just do the following:
    1. Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes.
    2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in Address Book & iCal. The entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
    3. Connect your phone, itunes running, do not sync at this point.
    4. Store>Authorize this computer.
    5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
    6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
    7. Right click again and select backup.
    8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
Your phone should look exactly like it did when you started, but now you're syncing to your new computer.

  • HT201269 How do I keep the contacts in two iPhones separate?

How do I keep the contacts on two iPhones separate? At present, when I add a contact to my iPhone 4, it appears on hubbies iPhone 4s, If I delete it from his phone, it also deletes from mine. Help please!!

It sounds as if you are both using the same iCloud account and are syncing via iCloud. You need to have separate iCloud accounts.

  • QUESTION - I have just purchased a mac and get my contacts from my iphone 4 onto iCloud.  In settings groups all my contacts fall under hotmail. HELP

I have just purchased a mac and get my contacts from my iphone 4 onto iCloud.  In settings>groups>all my contacts fall under hotmail. HELPQuestion

Do you have iCloud configured on the iPhone and on the MacBook Air? If not, you'll want to do that for seamless transferring of contacts between the two devices. If you have an iCloud account already, set it up on the phone first. If you do not have an iCloud account I'd recommend signing up for one on the computer first as it's easier to navigate the setup screens. Once iCloud is setup on both machines the contacts will automatically sync (faster if the iPhone is on wireless).
Regarding email, you'll need to ensure the email on the iPhone is configured for IMAP/Exchange. You'll then want to configure that same account in Apple Mail (or whatever email program you intend to use on the MacBook Air).

HOW CAN I SYNC ALL MY CONTACTS FROM MY IPHONE TO ICLOUD?

Go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account if you haven't already done so, turn Contacts on and choose Merge with iCloud when prompted.  If you are syncing contacts from an external account (Gmail, Yahoo, exchange, etc.) you will need to take additional steps to add them.  Let me know if that's the case.
