Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet not working

HELP! I created the form files in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, saved as Reader Extended PDF, have a submit button that emails me, and I download them to a folder on my desktop. When I try to "Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet" all I get back is the file name. I've tried with 10 files and only one file and it STILL won't work so it is not that the fields don't line up.
What do I do now?

    In acrobat 11.0.5 the 'merge data files into spreadsheet' tool only exports the filename and 1 field. The form was created in livecycle designer ES3 and previous versions created in livecycle 2 and 2.5, using previous versions of acrobat have exported all fields when using the 'merge data files into spreadsheet' tool. IU there a fix for this?

    I am wanting to select all pdf's in a folder and merge them into a spreadsheet, I know there is a tool for this but I want to make it select all the files in the current folder automatically as someone else has to do the report and I want to avoid mistakes.

    What you're describing will require creating an Action and a folder-level
    script to process the files and then output the spreadsheet file (a CSV or
    TXT file). That would be much more work than just using the built-in
    feature, and making sure you select all the files in a folder...

    I have tried reseting to factory settings by removing battery and holding down the power switch for more than 5 sec but this does nothing.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I think with so much unwanted data on the desktop and other places the whole os will crash very soon.

    The hard drive may be dying anyway, or the directory damaged because it is so full.  You should never let the hard drive get over 85% full.
    A -36 error is a read/write error.
    All you did with the power is reset the SMC.  Does nothing to reset everything to factory settings. 
    Do you have your original 10.4 installer discs for the MacBook?
    Is your data backed up?

  • Problems with Merge Data Files

    Created a form with radio buttons and finally have it working on my computer including the Merge Data Files creating the report.csv file.  However, when my co-worker creates the report.csv, the columns for the radio buttons are not included.  Had this problem on my computer when I had names for the radio buttons, but fixed it.  The data columns for the radio buttons are not exported on the co-workers computer.  Both are Pro X version, mine 10.0.0 but co-worker's is 10.1.7.
    Any suggestions?

    Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    defaults delete -app Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Quit Safari. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
    Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

  • Geting an error trying to import a data file into OWB repository

    We're using OWB 11.1.0.7.0
    I'm trying to import a new data file and I'm getting an error.
    When I go to The Project/Files/ I right click on the module I want to add the files to,
    I get a 'Wizard' titled 'Welcome to the Import Metadata Wizard'.
    I click next.
    I get the 'Filter Information' screen that asks if I want to select 'All Data Files' or a specific file.
    I pick 'All Data Files' and click 'next'.
    I get the 'Object Selection' screen that has a left and right panel. The left side is titled 'Available' and the right side is titled Selected.
    The 'Available' panel had the directory in Linux (/etl/datafeeds/dev) where our data files are stored with a plus sign next to it.
    When I click the plus sign, I get an error message that says:
    API2836: Directory
    /etl/datafeeds/dev does not exist.Has anyone seen this? What is the work around? Is it a bug? How do I import a data file into OWB if this isn't the way to do it?

    Hi,
    The Piecewise linear source (PWL) accepts data as voltage or current vs. time. You can find this part by selecting Place>>Component, go to the "Sources" group then select "Signal voltage sources". Place this part on the work area, double-click on it and there should be an option to open a .txt file.

    Audacity is what you need.
    Obviously you need to create a new MP3 file of the combined songs and not delete the originals.
    If your DJ-ing and/or just have too many songs to do that, then look at the free VirtualDJHome version, gives you a lot of control over your music playback.

  • Hyperlink to file in JSP not working

    I have a JSP page where I am providing a hyperlink to a file on the C: drive as follows

    Nothing happens when I click this hyperlink.
    When I scroll over the hyperlink I see the correct path "file:///C:/ReqImport/data.txt" in the status bar and when paste this path in my address bar, it does open up the file.
    Any ideas why this file hyperlink does not work on this JSP page.

    Hmm, you're right, I just tried it and it doesn't appear to work. It looks like a security thing: If the original page is on my hard drive, links to other files on my hard drive work. But when the original page is on a web server, links to files on my hard drive don't appear to work.
    Do you realize that such a link is referring to a file on the C: drive of the client, the user, not the C: drive of the server? I'm not sure what you're up to, but for most applications such a link is pretty much useless, as you normally have no way of knowing what files the user has on his C: drive.

    Is there a way for me to automate importing text files into Apple Notes? I can certainly do this manually via copy/paste, but have over 700 files to transfer.

    Automator is Apple's simple way to do tasks like this, but Notes app doesn't have any actions for this so I assume you need to use Applescript to do this. Double check Automator  - I am on 10.9 & maybe 10.10 added support for Notes in Automator? Enter 'Note' in the search field to see if Automator can make new Notes.

    See the "Create New Stylized Note" script <- click script icon to download it, copy & paste seems to fail because of how the browser displays characters.
    You would need to adapt that script to import from the text files.
    I'm not sure you really want to do that anyway - Notes app has such poor support that putting serious data into it looks like a mistake - how difficult will it be to export data when Apple eventually abandon it? It seems like a toy app to me for new iPhone users, it;s unclear if it will ever be able to compete with other options. There are third party apps to export from Notes.app, but why rely on third parties? A notes app should allow you to import & export your data!

    It will handle notes as text files if you desire, so you can store them in Dropbox if you want. You can also set it to sync to Simplenote on iOS.

    If you need images within notes or text styling you could use Evernote or one of the many other notes apps.
    Sorry to sound so negative on Notes.app, it's OK but I don't think its the best place to put over 700 notes.

  • Help merging 3d files into one 3d-pdf-scene

    Is it possible with the LCS to merge 3d-files into a single 3d-pdf-scene just like it is in the Adobe 3D Reviewer? I don't have a "Master"-file that defines an assembly like a catia *.CATProduct file so I can't refer supporting documents in the Generator3D. I also tried the assembler-service but with that I was only able to create a PDF that holds all the single 3d-data on different pages and therefore in seperated 3d-scenes.

    Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

    Check the path you've specified. It may well be;

  • File conversion is not working

    File conversion is not working.

    Using online services and it simply times out. I login and upload the file
    I want converted and it takes 5 mins or longer and then simply says the
    file conversion failed.
    I got one file to work, but it took like 12 tries.
    Very annoying and it's impossible to call and get a tech person to help.
