Merge Dimension & Scope of Analysis buttons inactive

Hi experts,
We are currently on Business Objects XI 3.0. I am trying to merge common dimensions from 2 Universes, or to perform Drill-down on hierarchies. However, I don't know why the buttons <Merge Dimensions> and <Show/Hide Scope of Analysis Pane> are inactive, ie. grey in colour.
Is there something I need to set before I can use these 2 functions?
I've already ticked 'Auto-merge dimensions' (under Document Properties), but this flag is always unticked when I create a new document.
I've also set 'Start drill on existing report' (under Tools > Options).
Would appreciate any suggestion on getting these 2 functions working. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Unchecking the option u201CUse Query Drillu201D (Document Properties) i.e. 3rd option under Document Options in WEBI?
I am not comfortable with SAP BW OLAP Universes because I never worked on it.
If you canu2019t combine the queries or u201CAdd a combined Queryu201D button is disabled then follow the steps:
1. Import the universe on which you are building the report.
2. Goto Universe Parameters-> SQL tab-> Check the option u201Callow the use of Union, Intersect and minus operatorsu201D
3. Save and Export the Universe
4. You can combine the Queries now.

I am trying to use SCOPE OF ANALYSIS in my webi report but the Scope of analysis button is graded out.
I have tried unchecking the "USE QUERY DRILL" under document properties as it was said in one of the threads, But no luck.

If what Oscar suggests does not work, it may be a permissions issue.
You need to be granted permission to drill at the WebIntelligence Application settings via the CMC

New document, query drill, scope of analysis, buttons disabled

Hi,
i have many reports, as part of develepment, we are planning to use drill down in some reports, but,when i edit the report in infoview, it is possible to create new document but not in rich client, and it is not posible no edit query in rich client, the button is greyed out, also the drill button, and even the create new document is grayed out.
I read another post that says, is not posible to use scope of analysis if the universe is from BI,so i tought it could be the reason that scope of analysis was greyed out, but did another test with universe e-fashion and it´s exactly the same problem, the buttons -create new query edit query, drill, scope of analysis, are disabled.
I have all the rights in infoview and cmc i have tha administrator account, Could be the problem ..........that we have a temporary license?

Hi,
Copy the report from Public folders to your favourites and tryfor drill down or creating a new document. May be your admin team can restrict in QA or PROD generally.

Scope of analysis is not available

Hallo
I have Webi 3.1 and Univerce on Bex Query .
Problem consist of Scope of analysis . Button of Scope of analysis in Web document is grey .
Maybe it was nessesary Univerce on Infocube doing ?

Hi all,
How do I set the "scope of analysis" in WEBI, when I see in my report the icon is in disable mode. Can anyone let me know how to activate and the purspose of the function?

Scope of analysis button grayed out:
Uncheck the option u201CUse Query Drillu201D (Document Properties) i.e. 3rd option under Document Options. (Right click on the report)
Scope of analysis is used to set the level of drill you want on the report. If you set the hierarchy up to level 5 then you can restrict the drill on this hierarchy to 2 or 3 levels.

Does Merge dimension button work on BI OLAP Universe webi reports

Hello all,
we are using BI 7.0 queries as our datasource for creating universes. When we are using the webi rich client to create a query, there is add query button and we are able to add query but once I add query I am not able see the Merge dimensions button active, is there some setting that is missing or this capability is not active for BI OLAP query universes?

Merge Dimension button is working on webi report based on OLAP universes.
Check you have the rights in CMC for merge dimension if it is happening all reports.
Under Home > BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications > Web Intelligence it is possible to set the Merge dimensions for synchronization right for groups and users.

What are the prerequisites for auto-merge dimension to work in Webi

We're working with Webi rich client (WRC) r3.1 SP4 FP4.1, and we noticed some strange behaviour.
We have a report with 2 dataproviders based on the same universe, which have a year dimension in common (exact same name, same datatype). It is not the same year-object.
We expected that WRC would auto-merge those 2 year objects, but it doesn't and we're wondering what might be the cause.

As mentioned in my initial post, we're on BOXI 3.1 SP4 FP4.1.
What you are describing is the principal of "manual" merging, my question is related to the automatic merging.
I would like to know this, because we're having problems working out a working example for drilling in Webi using query drill with multiple dataproviders and merged dimensions. And we're assuming that the drilling accross the multiple dataproviders is only possible when automerge is active. Because all dataproviders need changes is the where clause of the queries to limit the scope of analysis during the drilling.

How make a button inactive after the click ?

Hi,
how can i make a button inactive after i clik on it ? I need it becasue i have one button which play my symbol (made with this nice course https://blogs.adobe.com/edge/2012/07/18/tutorial-leveraging-independent-symbol-timelines/) but it's not working when the button is in the symbol where there is animation, it's only working when the buttons is a symbol on the stage and on the top of all over symbols, so when i clik on it works and play the symbol that i want but after is still active so i can't place another button at the exact same place of the first because it will play the first button and i need to put 20 buttons, anyone can help me please ? My buttons is just an empty rectangle so i don't talk about turn of the visibility but turn of th "activity"

Here is a sampe on how to use a next and prev buttons to change data.I have some other examples I will add later but this one could give you an idea on how to do it.

If you are playing symbols then use the rigth scope to get to them.
I would make a array of the symbol names and use it the same way like I did the array for the info.

Merge Dimension Is used to take data for 1 block from two data providers with the common dimension.
The steps to create a merge dimension are as follows.
1. Select a universe 1and Create a query in the WEbi by taking Dimensions ( Year for example) and Measures ( Sales Revenue for example). Save the query and run the query.
2. Then go to ADD QUERY, select the second universe 2 and build a query ( At least one dimension should be common in the both the queries), so take for example Year as a dimension and Quantity as measure. Now run the Second Query only.
3. Select the radio button INSERT TABLE IN CURRENT REPORT.
4. Go to Templates, Drag and Drop Vertical Table, then go to the icon on top which says merge dimension, select the common object from Query 1 and query 2.
5. Go to data tab, Drag and Drop common dimension into block 3, Drag and Drop required measures from query 1 and query 2.

Merge Dimension using 2 different universes

Hi Experts,
I need to create a single webi report using two different OLAP universes. one is AR universe and other is SD universe.
I created a a report using AR universe and then went to ADD Query option and choose SD universe and droped all the objects needed and ran the reports so.. I got two tables in the report and then trying to merge dimensions as Company key is common in both universes but when I tried merge dimension option I don't get any option to choose dimension .. only option I see is value butwhen I click on it nothings comes up.. Any idea ......
After add query can anyone tell me how to go for merge dimensions..

I tested using same universe, I mean created two reports using same universe having one common dimension but in edit report mode clicked on merge dimension then as said before I will get a screen with values button but when i click on values button nothing works.. so it might be security setting issue ? I am using SAP Bex queries for universe. Please any suggestions..

Scope of Analysis & Aggregation

Hi All,
I am new to Business Objects Egde and I am struggling to do something quite simple. I have the following tables:
Table 1
Sales rep      | Target
A          |$100
Table 2
State     | Sales Rep     | Clinic          |Revenue
NSW     |A          |X          |$5
NSW     |A          |Y          |$8
In Web Intelligence, I want a report to return the target at the state level first and then using the drill-down functionality at the sales rep and clinic level. When using the state/sales rep scope of analysis I get the right result, but as soon as I add the clinic to the scope the result is wrong.
Results
Scope of analysis = State/Sales Rep
State     |Target     |Revenue
NSW     |$100          |$13
Scope of analysis = State/Sales Rep/Clinic
State     |Target     |Revenue
NSW     |$200          |$13
How should I define the target (in the universe or in WebI) so that I can get the right results (ie, $100) and the clinic in the scope of analysis?

BO Edge works as follows:
since you are displaying the data of two queries in one table it builds the product of the two tables:
State | Sales Rep | Clinic |Revenue| Target
NSW |A |X |$5 | $100
NSW |A |Y |$8 | $100
If you assign only the State and the Sales Rep dimensions in your table then WebI aggregates the Target and Revenue key figures. I assume that you have assigned your key figures in the universe the sum operator.
Table 3
State | Sales Rep | Revenue| Target
NSW |A |X |($5 + $8) | ($100 + $100)
Keep in mind that first the aggregated table is build internally (Table 3) and then the drill is done.

Totals, Subtotals and ABC Analysis buttons missing from ALV.

Hi,
I have used FM REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY in my report without specifying a PF-STATUS that means STANDARD PF-STATUS is used in ALV, and moved from Quality to Production, till yesterday all the features such as Sort, Filter, Local file along with Totals, Subtotals and ABC Analysis were visible, today all buttons are visible but TOTALS, SUBTOTALS and ABC ANALYSIS buttons are missing.
I have not done any changes to the Code nor the layout.

I have checked the Layout.
In Layout in Quality there are checkboxes in Summation/Totals column in front of Numeric fields,
but these checkboxes are not visible in Layout of Production system.

who can tell me how to setup a button inactive in pf-status so that the button is inactive when the program is running?
there is a sample of button '&SUM' in PF-STATUS 'STANDARD'(lines 303) of program 'RM07MKON'.

In a custom (Z) program you can make PF status buttons and subsequently their OK codes inactive by using the following command:
SET PF-STATUS 'STANDARD' EXCLUDING '&SUM'.
And if you need to exclude more than one OK code
data: itab type sy-ucomm occurs 0,
wa type sy-ucomm.
move '&SUM' to wa. append wa to itab.
move '&ADD' to wa. append wa to itab.
set pf-status 'STANDARD' excluding itab.

#Multivalue error with merged dimension

Hello Experts,
I have a report which has two queries 1 and 2. Query 1 has Year,Month,DB,UserID and NOQ(measure) obejcts. Query 2 has User ID and Username Objects.
The requirement is to display Username along with UserID and other objects in Query 1.
I have merged UserID from both queries and the merged object is named as "LANID" and non merged dimensions are created as Detail Objects for year month and DB with associated dimension as LANID.
If I drag year-detail,month-detail,DB-detail,UserID (from LANID) and Username,I get #MULTIVALUE error in month column for User IDs which have multiple records for the same year,different months and same DB.
I came across a similar thread,http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?p=856502 where Dave Rathbun mentions that merged dimensions work only where there is unique record or same level of granularity between two dataproviders which is not the case here.
Request you to share any workarounds (asap) to achieve this.

Is there some sort of aggregation occurring that's causing multiple values for one row?
Check the table settings and select "avoid duplicate row aggregation" and see if that helps.
Also, with merged dimensions when you're missing individual query objects with merged objects, dimensional context becomes unknown or the wrong context is assumed, so you may be able to clear up the error by adding in a dimensional context (such as [Month-Detail] In ([User ID]).
