Merge Exchange and iCloud contacts?

I have two separate contacts in my Outlook 2013 - iCloud and Exchange. Is there a way to combine them into one, and have them both sync?
Also, I have noticed that when I start to type someone's name in the "To:" field when writing an email, their Exchange contact info comes up but the info I have stored in iCloud does not. Can I fix this?

To merge Exchange contacts to icloud, see:

  • Exchange and iCloud Contacts Problem

I just recently updated my iPhone to iOS5 and I'm having some difficulty with the exchange and the iCloud servers because they are clashing.  When I go to my contacts, most all of them are doubled and when I recieve calls etc it shows up and "Mom & Dad or Mom & Dad."  I was wondering if I go into my settings and click the Exchange contacts off will it fix the problem?  I just got worried when I saw the "are you sure you want to delete the ones on the phone" warning that came up.  Is there a way to merge iCloud and Exchange so that this will not be a problem?

My experience, while not directly related to iPad and iPhone, is that the problem starts when you have different types of calenders on your device.....'work', 'desktop', etc...
If the preferances are not set correctly at the time of the first synch and you have both work and desktop checked, both will create the same contact, thus, resulting in duplicates. This also holds true with calendars.
I do not know how to fix this problem alone, have needed CS to help walk me through it.

  • How to merge exchange and imcloud contacts

I am using outlook at work and I sync my mail, calendar and calendar with my ipad through exchange.
I activated icloud to have my contacts and calendar synchronized on my iphone, but the info of my outlook are not synchronized.
Is there anyway to merge the icloud and exchange data?

iCloud only syncs contacts in your iCloud account, not your exchange account.  You would have to copy or move your exchange account contacts to your iCloud account in order to have them sync with iCloud.  Unfortunately, you can't export them from Outlook in a compatible format to allow you to import them to iCloud.  You could, however, try using an app like Speed Names to do this on your phone.

  • Windows 8 mail app, has my icloud account on but none of my icloud contacts depsite merging outlook and icloud on the icloud control panel... Help?? :)

What you have experienced, though annoying, doesn't necessarily mean someone has hacked your account, though if you were finding that you were blocked because the sending limit had been reached that might indicate that you had been hacked.
What can happen is that when people receive emails which appear to come from their own address but they haven't sent they naturally tend to be concerned: however it's most unlikely that anyone has hacked their account, they've just been targeted by one of two common spammers' techniques: both arise because it's all too easy to forge the 'from' address on messages to be something other than the real one.
There are two methods. One is that the sender has forged the 'from' address to be the same as the 'to' address (so other people will see it coming from themselves, not you), presumably in the hope of confusing spam filters. It's harmless, if extremely annoying. Delete it (never ever answer spam or try to unsubscribe from it), and you don't need to be worried about it.
The other problem is that a spammer is forging your address as the 'from' address on a whole batch of messages. The first thing you hear about this is when you start getting bounce messages because the spam has been sent to non-existent addresses and is being bounced to you. There's no point at all in responding to it. It's infuriating but normally stops after a bit as they move on to another forged address.
There isn't really anything you can do about it: closing the account isn't really worth the hassle unless you are totally swamped, because you will have to tell everyone your new address. Apple can't really do any more than they already are about spam. However changing your password on general principles is a good idea.

  • Data in my iMac address book and iCloud contacts do not match.

The data in my iMac address book and iCloud contacts are different. How can I get my iCloud data to accruately reflect that of my iMac address book? It appears to be an initial synchronization issue. New entries synchronize fine. Appears that initial entries in my Address Book are not showing up in the iCloud Contacts list. Hense, My iPhone coantacts don't match those in my iMac.
Is there a way to clean out my iCloud contacts on reload/re-sychronize it with my iMac Address Book?

Nuts isn't it. This seems to have been an issue snce dAY 1.  iT FROSTS ME THAT THERE IS NO SIMPLE QUICK WAY TO UPDATE OR CORRECT the data in both programs simultaneously.. Thats why i decided to just put everytning into the i cloud address brook, and let the one other sit and rot.
then i got smart and said, why don't I delete the outlookaddress book files. and save on confusion.
result - both addresses books  and their contents became invisible to outlook.!!!!!! and I can find no way to correct this...to go back to the imperfect world that was.
I did get the outlook contact s back from an archive - but any thing from icloud has become inaccessible from outlook.  (fortunately i can get the vcard infformation directly from icloud. but I can't access it from outlook mail.... means no replying, forwarding etc - and a time swallowing nuisance..

  • How to sync both on my mac and icloud contacts

Why do I have calendars and contacts for both "On my Mac" and "iCloud"?  I want them to sync together so I don't have to edit both.  How do I go about syncing them as one?

On my mac calendars are intended to be private calendars that aren't synced, if you merely want all your calendars synced delete any calendars that are on my mac (or just uncheck them to hide them - make your default calendar an iCloud calendar) and just use iCloud calendars.
If you have any appointments in your on my mac calendars, double click them to edit and change the calendar to an iCloud calendar before deleting or hiding.

  • Outlook 2013 and iCloud contacts and calendar?

What does it take to get outlook 2013 to access my iCloud contacts and calendar?
I can log into ICloud and see my contacts and my calendar.  My iPhone works with iCloud just fine.
However, Outlook 2013 doesn't know iCloud has a calendar or contacts and I cannot access them. I have tried to add my iCloud contact file to Outlook 2013 but i must not be doing that correctly. I have tried to add my ICloud calendar file to outlook 2013 but i must not be doing that correctly either,  In Outlook 2013, when I click on either the "Calendar" or "People" at the bottom of the Outlook screen, what comes up is blank, no contacts, no calendar items.  I can long into iCloud and see the calendar and contacts just fine.
Surely, someone must know how to get this to work. I must not be adding the contact file or calendar file correctly in the Outlook 2013 Account Settings.  I cannot find any place where it discusses these settings.  I have tried to add them as https://www.icloud.com/#contacts or #calendar.  That has not worked.  Can anyone explain to me what I have to do to get these two products to communicate with each other?
    Gary

I have to say that I have gone through this setup several times by removing the check items on the icloud control panel and rechecking them and it accomplished nothing.  This time when I opened up the icloud control panel, the calendar item was unchecked.  Don't know why.  I checked it and it went through a process of moving a few thousand items into outlook.  When I opened outlook, my contacts and calendar items were there.
Thank you for the guidance.  I have contacts and calendar items available now.  Great news.

How do I link Icloud contacts and info to my new Microsoft Outlook 2010.

  • HT204150 New i-Photo format and iCloud Contacts format is not accepted

I have upgraded Mac to the new i-Photo format.  When I try to associate a picture to a contact on iCloud Contacts the new format is not accepted.  How can I now use these pictures with the contact list?

If you use iTunes now, you may well end up with duplicates. However if there is no other way, duplicates can be deleted, and this may be your only option.

  • TS4147 Do I need to merge Safari and my contacts with icloud?

When settling up Icloud on my iphone 5c the question comes up:  Do you want to merge your Safari and Contacts to iCloud.
Can this be reversed later?  What difference does it make?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
It can only be reversed manually, i.e. By putting everything back one by one. However it's the only way to use iCloud and keep the contacts you already have on your device.

  • Where does a new contact get stored when Exchange and iCloud are configured?

I have Contact (and mail and calendar) configured for iCloud and Exchange. When I add a new contact, how do I determin where it is stored?
When I click Add (via the + or Command N) I get
Which account will hold the new contact?
    Thank you

You should be able to switch between three different views at the bottom of Contacts (three buttons next to each other below your contacts list) - the leftmost button should show all your accounts and groups next to your list of contacts and you can then simply drag & drop contacts into an account or group :-)

  • How do I disconnect from MS Exchange and Gmail Contacts?

When I got my iPhone 3GS (a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...) I set it up to sync its address book (Contacts) to my Gmail contact list using some instructions I found which used "Microsoft Exchange Server". Worked pretty well so I then linked my wife's iPhone Contacts to *my* Gmail list so we would have the same list of addresses. Seemed to work. Over time, however, the list ballooned and various useless addresses got added (Gmail would add those people to whom I simply had replied on an email - I have fixed that!)
Now, there is iCloud and my wife and I have shiny new iPhone 5 phones. I hope to "clean up" my current list of addresses and then use that as my new starting point for contacts/addresses. I would like to disconnect from Gmail's contact list and link the Address Book on my iMac and the two iPhones to use the same list of contacts - and I presume that using iCloud for the Mac/iPhones would make the most sense. I still want to be able to use Gmail - but I don't want its contact list clogging *my* iPhone/iMac address book list.
I transferred my old iPhone settings to my new iPhone. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes and go to the "Info" page, the "Sync Contacts" box is unchecked but there is a statement "Your contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air. You c..." Despite my clicking various boxes, I can't get the rest of the message nor can I figure out how to stop this MS Exchange syncing!! Here is a screen shot:
I have looked on my iPhone and can't find any reference to starting/stopping MS Exchange syncing. I can't seem to find anywhere on my Mac that will let me change the setting either.
I would appreciate any help with this or suggestions on a better way of linking our two iPhones and my Mac to use the same contact list - and to maintain control over it, specifically how to keep it separate from Gmail contacts.
    Thanks for your help.
    David

    Not possible.
When turning over the air syncing for contact info off with an Exchange or MobileMe account, or when deleting the account from the iPhone, contact info will be removed from the iPhone.
You need to export the contact info from the Exchange server in a format that is supported for importing by the Address Book on your Mac.

  • How can I replace my Mac and iCloud contacts with the ones in my iPhone?

I have a new iPhone (iOS 6) and have edited, added, linked and deleted some of my contacts. How can I have THAT list replace all of the other contact lists in the rest of my devices?

If you are using iCloud on iPhone and Mac, that must be already done. If not, you have to setup iCloud on both devices with the same Apple ID.
Before you try anything, download an app like "Contacts kit" or "My Contacts Backup" to your iPhone and make a backup of your list and send it via email to yourself.

  • Exchange and iCloud meeting request issue

It Appears that when I receive a meeting invite through my work exchange account, it is depositing in my icloud and not my exchange acount.  THis is a problem as I do not have icloud on my work PC.  I have my icloud account the same as my work email account.  I was an option for use icloud for incoming invatations from other icloud members, but why would this overide Exchange?  Is that what is happeneing?  Any ideas

    Hi there
I have just had a user flooded with the responses. Upon checking my logs, I traced this to Iphone 5C running IOS 7.
In my case this behaviour is experienced on Exchange 2010.

  • Outlook and icloud contacts and mail sync OK but calendar will not.  Why?

I have Outlook 2010 on a Win 7 PC.  iCloud syncs Mail and Contacts with my iP4 and Outlook without any problems but Outlook Calendar will not.  iCloud set up procedure worked fine with Contacts and Mail.  But when setup is run for Calendar, a message pop up says that iCloud Mail must be "enabled" in Outlook before Calendar can be synced.
iCloud Mail has been setup on iP4 and in Outlook.  I can send and receive test messages to "me.com" from the iP but can't send test messages from the "me.com" account setup in Outlook.  When I try to send a test message from Outlook mail account setup a dialog box asks for my "me.com" password which I enter but then asks me again and again until I finally give up.  So, I think I've set it up but clearly, it's not been "enabled" to allow syncing with Calendar even though Contacts and Mail seems to work.  BTW, Outlook navigation pane (left side) shows an iCloud folder in both Contacts and Mail but NOT in Calendar.  Which shows, I think, that Calendar has indeed not been enabled.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
