Merge m2v and ac-3 (5.1 surround) files?

Hi all:
I thought this would be a straightforward question, but after extensive crawling thru this forum and elsewhere, I can't seem to find the answer to this question.
The situation:
I have an Alcorn-McBride DVM4 digital video server on which I need to run an mpeg-2 program stream file with an embedded 5.1 surround sound mix. The file has to be muxed together, it can't be separate elementary streams, otherwise I would have simply put the two files on the server and be done yesterday.
I have a finished mpeg-2 file with no audio track and I have the finished ac-3 file. For what it's worth, I also have the video in Qt format (animation and dv codecs) with no audio and I also have all six audio files as separate WAV files if I need to drop back a couple of steps.
Bottom line: I need to mux together mpeg-s and ac-3, whether via compressor or any other third-party tools.
* HOW? *
I have FCP5, Cleaner 6, DVD Studio Pro 4, Sorenson Squeeze, Canopus ProCoder, MainConcept on PC and Mac, MPEG streamclip, FFmpeg and bitvice (don't really know how to use, though). I even tried the Manzanita demo, which was written in Martian and completely worthless.
Any help apppreciated.

Well, it may be a perfectly fine piece of software, that's very "powerful", but if the UI is all written in abbreviations that only mean something to the engineer that wrote it, and if you input standard files that every other program on Earth can read and it throws a million inscrutable errors at you when you try to compile them, and the manual is written in Aramaic and only readable by R2D2, then it's FRIGGIN' USELESS as far as I'm concerned.
Digigami's encoder looks really promising (and written like an app for humans, not other computers), although I don't think it's going to solve this particular problem.
Still awaiting an answer... Is AC-3 even part of the MPEG-2 supported spec?? HELP!

Merging PDFs and then saving them as one file in Leopard

Would someone please tell me how I can merge PDF files into one PDF file. I have been able to drag and drop them together in Preview. I would love to be able to save the merged files into one file. Any ideas. I have read a lot online about this possibility in Snow Leopard, but I can't seem to save the dang file.
Help.

Open the first PDF. Open the tray so you can see the file on the left. Drag the other PDFs onto the first file in the tray. You can't just drag into the tray window anymore, you have to drag onto the file itself to merge. Save the file with new name.
Macmost has a good podcast on this subject that came out about a week ago. Shows other PDF tricks with Preview as well.

M2v and AC3 dont Merge in Toast

Hello maybe i was wondering why doesnt Toast Joins the M2v and AC3 files sometimes when i'm trying to burn them, i mean all this these years i have been joining them as usual but since some months ago sometimes i just add the Video file and doesnt ask me for the audio, i said sometimes because there are times when it doesnt ask to merge them and some other times it does, i dont know but i dont feel very confortable with Toast not asking me to join them.

Are you seeing a shift in duration to g with the sync shift? maybe try a test encode in Compressor to see if Cinemacraft is changing the duration of your video. I use compressor for both mpeg and ac3 encodes, and nenver see this type of shift.

How to Combine an .m2v and and an .AC3 into one QT.mov file

A few years ago I converted a .mov file into an .m2v and an .AC3 using Compressor 1.2 (that was for DVD Studio Pro 3.0). I lost the .mov and now need to combine the two files into one QT .mov file. How can I do that please?
I have QT 7.1 3 in OS 10.3.9 and also the QT that came with OS 10.5.8 (I can run either OSs.) (I know that the combined file will be of poorer quality compared to the original .mov). I have Aimersoft Total Media Converter 2.0.4 which can convert video from one form to another, but it can't combine (at least I don't think so).

I lost the .mov and now need to combine the two files into one QT .mov file. How can I do that please?
If you don't have software to do this directly, basically you would have only two other options. The first would be to mux the M2V and AC3 files and then convert the "muxed" file using a compatible converter. The second, would be to convert the audio and video files separately and merge the converted files in a video editor, QT Pro, GarageBand, or a similar application.

What you have experienced, though annoying, doesn't necessarily mean someone has hacked your account, though if you were finding that you were blocked because the sending limit had been reached that might indicate that you had been hacked.
What can happen is that when people receive emails which appear to come from their own address but they haven't sent they naturally tend to be concerned: however it's most unlikely that anyone has hacked their account, they've just been targeted by one of two common spammers' techniques: both arise because it's all too easy to forge the 'from' address on messages to be something other than the real one.
There are two methods. One is that the sender has forged the 'from' address to be the same as the 'to' address (so other people will see it coming from themselves, not you), presumably in the hope of confusing spam filters. It's harmless, if extremely annoying. Delete it (never ever answer spam or try to unsubscribe from it), and you don't need to be worried about it.
The other problem is that a spammer is forging your address as the 'from' address on a whole batch of messages. The first thing you hear about this is when you start getting bounce messages because the spam has been sent to non-existent addresses and is being bounced to you. There's no point at all in responding to it. It's infuriating but normally stops after a bit as they move on to another forged address.
There isn't really anything you can do about it: closing the account isn't really worth the hassle unless you are totally swamped, because you will have to tell everyone your new address. Apple can't really do any more than they already are about spam. However changing your password on general principles is a good idea.

How does text to column in Excel, fixed size when we import text, and define where the breaks have columns?

PDF does not contain columns, rows, formats, styles, or other aspects of word processing or spreadsheet file formats.
This is because PDF is decidedly not a word processing or spreadsheet file format or something "like" one of those.
(see ISO 32000 for what PDF "is")
What can optimize the export of PDF page content is to start with a well-formed tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Without that export is what it is and one performs whatever content cleanup is needed using the native application for the export file (MS Word or Excel).

How do I create a DVD from existing M2V and AC3 files?

I have previously used Compressor 4 to render a M2V file and an AC3 file from which I burned a DVD 'job'. Now, a week later, I wish to go back and burn another DVD from these files, (without rendering them again). How do I use these EXISTING files to create another DVD (using Compressor 4)?

If you anticipate that you may need multiple disks, the way to do it is to select Hard Drive as your output device/ That makes a disk image, from which you can burn multiple copies.
WIth the separate files already created, you could bring them into an authoring program like Toast. But if you want to re-use them in Compressor, I think your only option is to multiplex them in something like MPEG STreamclip and bring the new file back into Compressor.
Probably easier to redo the Compressor job with the original source.

The Acrobat 9.x product family passed into End of Support mid-year of 2013.
The product isn't compatible with contemporary OSs or Office suite.
You may have to step up into the Acrobat XI product family.

RoboHelp 9 - problem with merged TOC and index

Using RoboHelp v9.0.0.228 I have a master project which contains several merged TOCs and indexes for other CHMs. This has worked successfully for years, but has now stopped working in our translated CHMs. I have checked all the relevant settings and they appear to be correct. The English version still works correctly. Can you help please? Many thanks.

OK, so my post was just a summary really!
I have a main project with its own TOC, index and topics. I then have several other projects with their own TOCs, indexes and topics, and these are merged into the master TOC. In all these projects, we use the indexes to contain function ids for our software, so that when you press F1 in a software function, it invokes the correct Help topic in the CHM. The software is coded so that it goes to the main project first, and then looks in the merged index to find the link to the Help topic.
In the individual sub projects, the TOCs and indexes are present and work correctly. Also, in the master project, the TOC and index works correctly in the original English version. However, even though the TOCs, indexes and topics are all present and correct in the translated versions (Russian, for example) the index in the master project does not contain the entries for the sub projects. The TOCs for the sub projects do, however, work correctly.

Merging XML and XDP files

I must build this POC for a client and the idea is merge XML and XPD files to feed a LiveCycle Output process and create PDF files.
I've built the XDP files and the XML to start things, now I need to figure out how to create the process to merge them in Workbench.
Is there any tutorial to help me with this task?

Import M2V and AC3 Error

I have downloaded the trial of Adobe Production Premium CS5 and am having a little trouble with Premiere Pro. This is a clean install, no other version has ever been installed on this system. It looks like both M2V and AC3 files are supported by Premiere, yet when I try to import them I get the following error: The file has an unsupported compression type. So how do I import these files? Any help is appreciated.

CS5 has made a major, and much welcomed departure - one no longer needs to remove and run Adobe Clean Scrip. The S/N from the full-paid version will convert the program. While all is not perfect with Adobe, this is a wonderful change!

Trying to recover files that are m2v and aiffs

I've experienced my first external hd crash, and the only files i've left of several pieces are separated m2v and aiff that had been made for DVD StudioPro. I'm trying to recover those files so that I can remake masters, and I'm having a heck of a time. Can anyone help?? These are my student films and I can't afford to loose them. [email protected]
