"Merge to HDR" option suddenly missing!

All of a sudden, my option to do a HDR merge is completely gone. Can anyone help me to get it back???? Thanks in advance!!
[I am running CS2 on a mac)

Have you moved the application out of its folder?

  • Photoshop CS6 HDR Merge to HDR Pro SUDDENLY stopped working?!

Yesterday and in the past HDR Merge to HDR Pro worked through Photoshop CS6 and Bridge.  Suddenly its running then stops before taking me to HDR Adjustment window.  I have installed reinstalled, computer is updated, etc.  Only thing that I can find on this issue is hundreds of other people with the same problem and no solution that is working to get this function working again.

    Exact same problem here.
    CS6 Production Premium and updated.
Goes all the way through and fails.
Mine will still work with 2 images and maybe 3, but I have some stacks of 4-7 images. Not working at all.

  • Merge to HDR Pro suddenly stopped working

I've notice that this seems to be a problem, but nowhere have I seen an answer that resolved it, so I thought it is worth posting again.  Merge to HDR Pro is why I pay for Adobe CC and if it can't be made to work reliably, I'll stop paying!
    Here is what happens:
3-5 images selected in Photoshop Lightroom
"Edit In" ==>  "Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop" selected
Photoshop opens and opens the images in separate layers
Photoshop goes through the alignment process
Photoshop clears out all the data and returns to an empty state (rather than opening the Merge to HDR dialogue page).
Now I have had it working perfectly for months, all of a sudden yesterday, in the middle of a session it stopped working.
If I use Photoshop to File | Automate | Merge to HDR Pro, same process happens - does everthing except the critical step of taking you into the HDR window.
I'm using Windows 7 with an Intel i7 processor and 8GB memory, most allowed by Photoshop.  Nothing changed to cause the problem.
Adobe - need this resolved urgently please.  Thanks.

I have also encountered this problem today working with a batch of .NEF files, using File > Automate > Merge to HDR in CC 2014. Same problem running from the Bridge > Tools menu. I suspected an issue with scene complexity for alignment until I checked this post.
The first merge processed fine. A subsequent one failed at the point of aligning the source Layers and did not pass to the Tone Mapping dialog. Re-trying the original batch then also failed - Huh ?
I tried an archive set of brackets and they worked OK. I also converted the .NEFs >  .PSDs and that worked OK.
I would be interested if the O/P or yourself would try a merge from the following :

    Thanks

  • Camera Profile options suddenly missing in Lightroom...

Okay... so I noticed yesterday that (for some reason) my camera calibration profile options have disappeared, and my only option is "Adobe Standard". I used to have all the others (camera standard, camera standard 2, adobe standard 2, ACR, etc), but they have vanished.
    I'm running Windows 7 32bit.
I thought maybe it was just Lightroom 3.5, so I un-installed and re-installed... no luck.
    I un-installed 3.5 and re-installed 3.4.1.. no luck.
The camera profiles are in the proper directory (based on other forum posts I've found)... no luck.
I've tried removing the camera profiles from the directory and re-installing... no luck.
Not sure where they went, or what happened, or how I can get them back. Colors just aren't the same without them
Any ideas? I searched for hours on different forums and support sites, with no avail... Am I missing something? Is there another software besides Lightroom that needs to be installed? I'm out of ideas.
    Cheers.

The list of profiles displayed is dependent on the camera used to shoot the image. Typically, cameras from Nikon, Canon and some Pentax will have a range of profiles whereas others vendors (e.g. Sony, Panasonic and Olympus) will only have Adobe Standard. I suggest that you check which camera model is showing fewer profiles than you expect and report back. Someone will then be able to tell you whether it's got a a full or limited range of profiles.

  • Z1 HDR OPTIONS MISSING

Hi, I noticed in Xperia Z1 that Built no. 518 and 531 had HDR option, but after latest. Update to built no.534 HDR option is missing on both photo and video.
Request concerned people to reply on this please.
    Thanks.

HDR, in regard of it's nature, is an option you can set on the manual mode only. And it's available if the ISO is set to auto and the resolution to 8Mp. This is the way it works mate.
High Dynamic Range (HDR) needs "space". The same function takes 2-3 shots per photo on professional DSLR cameras. You have this with only one shot on Z1, so it have to be done some other way. This is the way - auto ISO and a bit lower resolution.
When everything have failed already, try to read the manual.

  • Top line suddenly missing from display - where did it go?  how can I get it back?  Don't have finder, time and date, options...

Top line is suddenly missing:  no finder, no options, no date and time or wifi status, no time capsule to return to previous settings!  Can't figure out what happened.

You can only sync with one computer. When you synced to the new computer it would have erased it and synced what was on the new computer.
You always need to have a backup, an iPhone is not a storage device.
When you get a new computer you need to transfer your library before syncing
If you don't have a backup you may be out of luck
The only thing would be if you're in the US and have access to the iCloud beta to reload purchases

  • Merge to HDR Pro is not in menu option under automate in Photoshop CS6.

I am doing a Photoshop CS6 course.  One tutorial involves using "merge to HDR Pro" shioch shoule be in File - Automate.  I don't have this in my menu listing.  Does anyone know why this is and if it is possible to add it?  Thank you.

Have you moved the application, or removed the scripts folder?

  • Merge to HDR doesn't work with Raw

I have Raw .CR2 images that I would like to Merge to HDR. If I load them through Camera Raw and then into Photoshop, then attempt to merge with the "currently open files" option it gives me a warning that it won't be as nice as loading the CR2s directly into Merge. So I do that. The layers and windows bounce around like normal, then nothing, just an empty Photoshop window as if I had just launched it. Am I missing something here?

    >Am I missing something here?
Some basic info, like WHAT VERSION OF PHOTOSHOP ARE YOU USING? While one might presume you are using Photoshop CS3, if you don't state it, how will anybody know?
As far as I know, this isn't a Camera Raw issue but a Photoshop issue. Does the merge work if you process out tiff files? That would be the first test to see if it's a Camera Raw issue. If not, you'll need to do some basic Photoshop troubleshooting and you might go to the correct Photoshop forum for your platform (which you also don't mention).

  • Merge to HDR with ACR 9.0 - Bit Depth?

When we gained the option to use ACR on the 32 bit file we made with merge to HDR, it made all other methods redundant.  I stopped using Photomatix, and started revisiting old bracketed sets so I could marvel at all the extra detail and image quality I could now get.  Merge to HDR has changed with ACR 9.0, and I am not entirely sure if I am using it correctly.
It seems to take longer than it used to to produces the merged image, which we can now save in DNG format, and reopen in ACR to apply all the local adjustments that make using Photoshop so much better than the competition.  The DNG has so far opened for me with some fairly radical settings already applied, and the image looks really quite good.  However, making further 'local' adjustments does not cause the lag I was getting previously, so I'm thinking I must be working on a 16 bit image, and not 32bit.
Is this right?  If yes, is the workflow cast in stone, or can I choose to save the DNG in 32 bit?  I've only tried it on a couple of images so far, and to be fair, it is working well, but I am wondering if I am missing something, or our options have changed?  (I could probably tried another set in the time it has taken me to type this post :-( )

JimHess asked that question and got an answer from MadManChan2000. (Basically, stored as 16-bit; rendered as 32-bit.)
If it seems to work faster while doing local adjustments, it could be because of ACR now supporting GPU acceleration. (I can't say for sure, though; I'm not a propellerhead on the matter.)

  • Merge to HDR problems

when i merge to HDR my photo will not save, in fact my file menu will not open up.  what am i doing wrong?  it used to work.I have Photoshop cs5

I’m a Windows guy so can’t picture everything you’re saying is occurring and was hoping to see the disabled features and missing buttons for myself.
It could be that your UI is just corrupted and re-installing will fix something.
Otherwise, about the only thing I can think of is that there is another modal dialog open that is supposed to be on top of everything but you can’t see it because it is offscreen or behind and so the windows you expect to respond in particular ways seem unresponsive because the model dialog you can’t see is waiting for you to click Ok or Cancel or whatever its buttons would say.
One way this can happen on Windows is if you were running on 2 monitors and then have switched to one, but the window positions are being saved in terms of two monitors, still.  There is an option to reset the workspace back to Adobe defaults, so you might try that if the re-install doesn’t already do that for you.

  • Merge to HDR pro has disappeared

I am running photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4 on an iMac with OS X 10.6.  I recently tried a trial version of Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro.  When my 30 day trial expired, I uninstalled it.  I haven't purchased a copy yet, but in the meantime I wanted to process an HDR image and tried using CS5 but the "merge to hdr pro" item was suddenly missing from the "automate" menu where it is normally located.  What did I break and how do I fix it? Thanks.

Attached is screen shot. What happens is I go to File/Automate/Merge to HDR Pro, then select my 3 images, which are flattened psd files (I have tried tifs and jogs too), hit OK, it processes them, but instead of the image appearing, I get this black image. You can see my original images at bottom... jpegs too),

  • Merge to HDR Pro: What you see is not what you get?

I am using PSCC on an iMac (Mavericks). When I bring bracketed shots into PSCC's Merge to HDR Pro, I can work the settings and/or presets to get an image that looks OK. However, when I exit from HDR Pro by clicking OK, the image displayed in PSCC is very different from what I was just looking at in HDR Pro. The screenshots here show just one example, working in 16-bit mode. Other images show even greater differences. Working in 32-bit mode makes it even worse. This did not use to happen in my earlier versions of PS (perpetual license). Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Yes I realised that.  There are now quite a few applications for processing HDR, and IMO Photomatix has always been the best of them, and certainly did a better job than Photoshop.  My point was that the old 'Merge to HDR Pro' workflow is now redundant if you have Photoshop CC, and that using Camera RAW as outlined by Julianne Kost, has suddenly leapfrogged all the competition by an order of magnitude.
So I strongly urge you to take Mr Prengel's advice. Output the image in 32bit, and use ACR to process it.  Did you watch the video tutorial I linked to?
You certainly shouldn't get all pixel-peeper about how the 32bit image looks on your screen.  It is not possible to show the tonal width of a 32 bit image on a computer screen, so you are seeing a 'representation' of how it might look after processing.
FWIIW I have taught HDR (and Photoshop) to some of the best photographers in the world at two PSNZ National Conventions back in 2010 and 2011, so I kind of have strong opinions about it.  Not that I use it excessively, but it is a very handy tool to keep in your photographic skills repertoire.
    Trevor,
I am sorry if I misunderstood your post. I am actually using the same workflow as Julianne Kost in her video (which I had watched prior to posting here). And, as I posted above, I do agree with Mr. Prengel that I should just take the 32 bit image into Camera Raw and do the toning there. As a matter of fact, that is what I have been doing in Photoshop CC (sending the pictures from Lightroom, same as Julianne Kosts does), and I can do a very good job, if I say so myself.
So the question I had was merely one of puzzlement at seeing the difference between the image just before exiting HDR Pro and what shows up in Camera Raw. In the examples I provided, and in many other cases, it clearly went beyond pixel-peeping: they were two very different images. But I think I understand now why this is, which you kindly pointed out: it is not possible to show the tonal width of a 32 bit image on a computer monitor. I had not considered that and I thank you for mentioning it.
It may be that in some cases (as in Julianne Kosts's video) the representation in HDR Pro is actually pretty close to the initial view in Camera Raw, but in other cases (my examples) it is not. Not really an issue, I agree.

  • Merge to HDR pro problem

My merge to HDR pro option in CS6 extended suddenly stopped working.   I select the pics to merge I see them all appear on the screen but then it looks like all is working well and the Merge to HDR window never opens....  I just end up staring at a blank regular PS window.  One minute it was working - 10 minutes later nothing.
I tried resetting preferences and even redownloading and installing (without uninstalling first).
I've searched the forum but don't see this issue.

I too am having this problem and have searched to no avail.

  • CS5 problem: Merge to HDR Pro & Incorrect EV values

    Hi,
I'm trying to use the HDR Pro option on Photoshop but have yet to find a way to circumvent an issue I'm having.
The game Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstaiton 3 has a photo mode and allows you to edit camera settings within the game and then export your image. Upon opening the images with Photoshop a message appears informing you the file's Photoshop data may be corrupt. You can choose to ignore this and the image will display as normal.
The real problem occurs when taking photos with different exposure settings and then trying to use the "Merge to HDR Pro" option. For whatever reason, the values embedded in the files are incorrect. I took three photos, the high level photo had an exposure value of -3.0 when viewed in HDR Pro which is obviously wrong, and the normal and low level photos both had a value of 0.0. Obviously these muddled up values cause the whole HDR process to go horrible wrong, as seen here:
    http://i53.tinypic.com/euh7ra.jpg
The Photoshop support pages inform me that for files with missing EV values, I can set them manually, however there is no such option for files with incorrect values. Is there any way I can alter the settings manually? Either through Photoshop or editing the files elsewhere?
    Thanks for any help.

It sounds like the game is writing incorrect EXIF data.
You'll have to edit or remove the EXIF data that provides the camera settings.
If the EXIF data is removed, then Photoshop won't find the metadata, and will prompt you for the values.
And if you put the correct values in the EXIF metadata, then it will just work...
