Merge two iTunes accounts

OK.  This is a really stupid question.
It turns out that I have to iTunes store accounts.  One with my email account as its name, and one with only my alias (without the @...).  Rest of their details are identical.
I only found out after Apple introduced the iCloud, which stored all purchased music in the cloud as well. Suddenly, noticed that the list of songs on my "purchases" list was different.  Turns out, naturally, it was different depending on the id i used to login.
Anyway, I was looking for a way to transfer all my purchases from one account to another, and close down the other as it is quite bothersome.  Haven't found a way though, and similar questions in the past seem to turn up with no answer.
I hope somebody knows a way.
Thanks in advance,
w

  • Can I merge two iTunes accounts?

hello group, is it possible to merge two iTunes accounts into one? my wife has a German account, myself an Austrian and we want to merge these two accounts so that we have both (within the allowed number of computers) the same music... how does that work?

You cannot have two accounts logged in to the iTunes Store simultaneously, but you don't have to. Just authorize the first account, then authorize the second. Usually all you need to do is play a track purchased from an unauthorized account and it will offer to authorize; just enter in the appropriate user name and password.

  • How do I merge two itunes accounts?

Somehow I ended up with two iTunes accounts.  This was not by design, but rather because of the convoluted sign-up process and my unfamiliarity with it.  I didn't deal with it before now because it wasn't a problem until now.  What has caused it to be a problem is that I just got an iPad to go along with my iMac, iPhone, and MacBook Pro (trust me, I never thought I'd see this day, but I needed a system that was integrated).
Since accounts are associated with users, the songs that show up on my iPad are different that what's on my iMac.  I could describe the problems and challenges in detail, but I'm sure any knowledgable users can imagine what they are.
Now, in order to use iCloud, I have to move from Snow Leopard to Lion, which is going to be a bear (even moreso since a new back-up drive nearly destroyed my computer, and I have a query about it in another post-- the problems just keep on rolling).  How do I associate all my purchases from one account with the other one so I can keep credit for songs and apps?  Many thanks for all help.  -J.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You cannot merge multiple Apple ID accounts into one.  See below for more information.
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?

  • HELP...want to merge two itunes accounts into one running several ipods

Hi, I need advise as I have two Itunes accounts for my family running on tow different laptops with win7 and with two iphones and two itouchs. I do I merge all this into one account that I can access from all devices and all computers?

Do you have a home network? You can set up itunes Home Sharing and transfer your purchases that way. You need to authorize each PC for the two different STORE accounts to transfer each account's purchases.
If you don't have a home network you'd have to use an external hard drive or USB stick.
Long story short, there's no automatic way to do it. You need to keep track of each account's purchases and what PC they are on, then move them to the PC that is missing those items.
There are some 3rd-party programs like Tune Ranger that say they will keep everything insync from one PC to the next, but they cost around $20 or $30.

  • HT3819 Can I merge two iTunes accounts into one account for home sharing?

I now have two children with iTunes accounts. Unbeknownst to me, we should have set up a home sharing network. I need to merge these two accounts to one account so we have only one home sharing account and do not loose any songs and media. Any ideas on how to accomplish this, or is it not possible?

Sorry to say but these Accounts cannot be merged...

  • HT204053 How do i merge two iTunes accounts?

My Dad and i are having trouble with his iTunes accounts. notice they were plural. yes, my dad has two different apple IDs with two different passwords. this was do to a problem we had with iTunes. He has arround 50 dollars in apps on one account (due to a dicionary he bought) and wants to merge it into his existing iTunes account. im not saying that his previous Itunes accound is unaccesable, because it is very accesible, but we just cant figure out how to fix this issue. Anyone got any bright ideas? please help!
    Sincerely, Garrett
P.S. sorry for the bad spelling.

It's not currently possible to merge accounts nor to transfer content from one account to another - content will remain tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded it.

  • HT1918 how can I merge two itune accounts?

I had an account for itunes and, not thinking, created another one tonight, so I have music under both accounts.  How can I merge the two?

Sorry - you can't. You can keep the music from each iTunes account in the same library, but the purchased items will always be "owned" by the iTunes ID under which they are purchased.
My husband and I both purchase music and other stuff on his Mac in iTunes under our own iTunes IDs. Both IDs are authorized to the Mac, and everything is housed in one iTunes library. I can download his music, and he can download mine.
However, if, say, some of the music was removed from the library and we wanted to get it back in there, we would each individually have to go to our Purchased list to download the items that we purchased in order to get them all back into the library.
    Hope that explanation helps!

  • Merging two itunes accounts?

    Hello!
To separate my old iphone from the new one, I created a new itunes account. Unfortunately the password of the old account became invalide and it seems to bee impossible to get a new password. Neither the safety question nor the email way does work. This wouldn't be a problem, but I need the old account to get updates for my apps. Is it possible, to move the apps from one account to another? How can I restore my old account?
Many thanks to all of you who have an idea!
    Jens Troegner

Sorry, but there is no way to merge iTunes Store accounts nor any way to transfer an app, or any other content, from one account to another. You'll need to get the password for that old account sorted out. If you've tried all the steps here:
    http://iforgot.apple.com
then you'll need to contact the iTunes Store and ask for assistance.
By the way, there was no need to create a new iTunes Store account just because you got a new iPhone. Too late now, of course.
    Regards.

  • How to merge two itunes accounts on two different computers?

When I originally set up my iTunes account I did not have my own laptop. I used my sisters laptop for this which now has her own iTunes account stored on it.
However, my tunes which I have purchased are also part of this account.
Obviously my sister is fine with me having access to these tunes, however I would like to have them stored in the account I have set up on my own laptop now that I have my own device.
Is there any way I can merge both accounts or the content of the accounts without losing anything we have purchased or uploaded?
Is this 'merging the libraries?', I didn't think it would be as they are on different computers?
Any help here would be great as I am driving my husband mad with this!
    Thank you!

    Hi Carolyn,
    Thanks for this.
Do you think there is any way to get the content of the libraries onto one account?
Would home sharing work just to facilitate the movement of the tracks?
    Thanks again!

  • Can i merge two itune accounts?

I cant sync my iphone to my pc. Whenever i try it comes up with this; "An IPhone can be synced with only one ITunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this Iphone with the contents of this ITunes library." I dont think i ever created two accounts and they are both the same email. Can i fix this without deleting an account? I have spent a lot of money on both accounts and dont want to lose it. Can I merge them?

Correct... this means you have Synced your Phone to a Different iTunes Library.

Is this a New Computer...? If so...
    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

How do I merge two iTunes accounts?

You can only stay logged in with one at a time.
Apps bought on one account will always be associated with that account and will require logging into that account to update.

  • Will I be able to merge 2 iTunes accounts?

Testing my new account!  Please ignore   I'm already aware that Apple does not allow us to merge two iTunes accounts.  You have to just make sure you are always keeping your computers authorized for both accounts to avoid syncing / updating issues.   If you aren't sure what account you used for your purchases, just right (or command) + click the item in question and choose "Get Info".

I am an iTunes mug so I have never needed to do non-iTunes movies, but I have heard decent things about Beamer http://beamer-app.com/ which seems to do what you want.

  • How do I MERGE the purchases of two iTunes accounts into one Family Share?

We have purchased many apps via two iTunes accounts.  How do we merge these purchases into on Family Share account

    Hi MacHead2010,
I am not quite sure exactly what you mean by your question. It is not possible to merge two iTunes Store accounts. See this article for reference -
Frequently asked questions about Apple ID - Apple Support
Using Family Sharing, however, does allow all members of a Family Sharing group to use the content such as music, apps, etc on each other's devices.
See this article for how to set up Family Sharing -

This article will tell you what content can be shared -

I have two itunes accounts, can I merge them?

If you are using a username for your account, you will need to change it to an email address that is required by the system now. If both your accounts are using the same email, you will need to provide another one as you will not be able to use an email for multiple accounts.
    Hope this helps.
