Merged Apple I.D.s

Somehow my sons I.D. and mine have been merged, causing mass chaos with every device I own. Has anyone ever had this happen? I'm trying to get iTunes to merge the purchases on the two I.D.s? Any thoughts???  His I.D. could be deleted after the merge.

Apple IDs cannot be merged.

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Merging Apple IDs - must be made available!

Wanting to use the features of mobile me, I didn't realise that it would create a new apple ID. My previous apple ID was [email protected]
I now find myself with music, warranties on both and I'm sick of trying to manager two user IDs across 2 laptops, Imac and Ipod touch.
The inability to merge two or more IDs is a real pain in the arse! From all the discussion I have read it is not possible.
Apple should get off their behinds and make the functionality available.
I would suggest that the functionality to be easily included in [email protected]
a migration assistant could step by step allow the end user to select apple IDs, and the content associated with them. The option to delete the former Apple ID would be a good thing too.
The more people who request the ability to merge apple IDs the sooner it will get done.
    Cheers

You could send an e-mail to the iTunes Store and tell them your problem. I didn't have items purchased under two accounts, but I wanted to change my user ID to delete the @xxxx.com. (I realized when sharing my library that people could see my complete e-mail address if they did Get Info on a track. And one listener actually e-mailed me asking if they could get a copy of my library.) Anyway, I sent Apple an e-mail stating the issue and they changed my ID and assured that purchases, both old and new, would be recognized under the new ID -- which has been the case. Your case is a bit different, and I can't guarantee they would grant your request, but I'd say it's worth asking the question.

  • Can you merge Apple ID's yet?

Can you merge Apple ID's yet?  I don't need 2 yet, there's no way to merge them?  I thought Apple was going to work on this?

No. No news on the matter either that I've heard of.

  • Why is it not possible to merge apple id's?

Why is Apple being so stubborn that they will not let us merge two apple id's?  Forget that, I just want to change the primary e-mail address on my NON-MOBILEME apple id to my e-mail address, but for some reason it has a mobileme address in there and will not let me change it!  REMEMBER THIS IS A NON-MOBILE ME itunes account!!  HELP!

you can change an apple id that is NOT a mobile me address but you can NOT do so if it has EVER been a secondary email on ANY apple id. This is the **** i've been going through the past couple of days!
if your primary email is a mobile me or dotmac email that *is* your apple id and it permanent you can not change it ever.
if, however you have a non-email apple id, you can merge your email into your apple id on THAT account ; you can not combine apple id's. I'm quite certain it has to do with the licensing of the music, and some loophole that would help pirates.
you CAN change your PRIMARY email on a non-mobile me email address but like mentioned above NOT if it's EVER been accoisated to ANY apple id.
    the workaround: an ALIAS:
say for example you inadvertenly assigned [email protected] to your mobileme apple id as a secondary email, THAT will prevent you from making it your primary email on your other apple id, but you CAN set it to [email protected] and if you set up an alias that points [email protected] -> [email protected] then you can do that and then delete [email protected] from your non-mobile me account and you can add [email protected] to your mobileme acocunt (the benefit of that is that you can use findmyfriends with your REAL email address.
the only drawback is that when you buy something the receipts will go via the alias.
it's a bummer that you have to have two accounts but it's actually good to have the iTunes purchases NOT share the same login and password are your email and frequently entred user/passwords for iCloud / mobileme.

  • How do I merge Apple ID accounts so i can verify iCloud on iPhone?

I recently go iCloud, but am unable to use it because:
When I signed up in Apple Store year ago I used "imagaria". I then had to create one tied to my email "[email protected]". But now, when I try to verify my Apple account to use iCloud, it says:
"That Apple ID is already in use.If this Apple ID was created by you, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password. If it does not belong to you, try again using a different name."
I have signed out of everything tied to Apple, my Mac iTunes, my iPhone App Store etc.
In the Manage Your Account, it says to "
Make your Apple ID and primary email address one and the same."
However, it will not let me do so to use iCloud.
Am I doomed forever to not be able to use iCloud?

Just create a new id for iCloud and keep imagaria for Itubes and Itunes match.  You can not merge accounts.

  • Merge apple id -- when will this be fixed?

So every time I have App updates I have to keep logging back and forth between two Apple accounts.  One account was set up a long time ago, the other a few years back when .me came about.  I've purchased apps under both ID's and for security have complex passwords, that are quite frankly a total pain to have to enter in order for updates from both accounts to be downloaded.  The standard answer on these forums that ID's cannot be merged isn't cutting it.  There needs to be a way to merge them together so you can just use one account (and password) to download updates for both accounts.  The other option would be to go through all of the original older accounts' purchased items, do a Refund to my account, and then allow me to repurchase everything on the new account that I want to keep.  At that point the older account can be deactivated for good.
When is a solution going to be available -- there are a lot of people asking for this?

The standard answer on these forums that ID's cannot be merged isn't cutting it. "
    It is THE answer.
" There needs to be a way to merge them together so you can just use one account (and password) to download updates for both accounts."
    There is not.
" The other option would be to go through all of the original older accounts' purchased items, do a Refund to my account, and then allow me to repurchase everything on the new account that I want to keep."
    Not an option either.
"When is a solution going to be available -- there are a lot of people asking for this?"
There is no reason to believe that there is a solution coming.

  • HT204053 Dear Apple: Please allow us to merge Apple ID's

I know it's not possible now, but I've been needing this for years.  I set up two (or three?) Apple ID's over the years, not remembering passwords and such and it's much more complicated than I'd like.  It seems like a simple request, but one I've made for the last few years with no result.  I'm sure I'm not alone in this—it's at the top of your FAQ's about Apple ID's.  Please make it possible for people to merge their Apple ID's if they want to and save themselves a lot of confusion and headaches.  It's honestly the only reason why I don't like using iTunes and stay away from it if I can—I don't feel like I have control over what I buy and can listen to.  Thanks.

Count me as one of the many that really want this to happen.
With all the years of going through the .mac, .me, and now icloud, I've lost track of some I've used in the past. When you change career paths over a decade you often have a reason to switch to a new username.
I'd give anything (OK...maybe $100) if I could merge my accounts.

  • Merging Apple IDs

Kind of half on and half off topic this, but I don't know where else it should go...
Over the years I've created a fair few Apple IDs (usually through forgetting the last one used when registering a new purchase).
Is it possible to merge them all into one ID (purely for the registration aspect)?

  • Downloading music from iCloud without wi-fi and merging apple id

    Hi, hoping someone can help.
We have 2 apple id accounts in our household.
Is it possible to merge our ID accounts including all music that we've purchased over the years on the various iphone we've had?
I think we've saved the music onto the icloud, although i don't know much about icloud.  When i sign in to icloud i can't see where the music is.
most of my music on my iphone can only be listed to when i listen to it via wi-fi from teh icloud.  Does this mean the songs i've purchased are saved somewhere in the icloud and i can no longer simply save the music back to my macbook?
How can i even see all the music i have in the icloud?
    Thanks
    Rob

No, you cannot merge or split accounts.
I think we've saved the music onto the icloud, although i don't know much about icloud.  When i sign in to icloud i can't see where the music is.
Unfortunately there are different components to iCloud and it gets confusing. You can't upload music to an regular iCloud account.  Match is regarded by some as part of iCloud but is a different component and you can upload music to a Match account, if you paid for one. If you bought media from the iTunes Store you can re-download some media from its "Cloud" services.

See above  on how to download purchases.  If you use Match you need to say so when you post so we know you are asking about that.
How can i even see all the music i have in the icloud?
