Merged Clips in Pr don't import into AE (or export from Pr via Dynamic Link)

anyone else encounter this??
Exporting ANY sequence from Premiere that contains Merged Clips to Ae via Dynamic Link results in NO clips showing up in the AE Comp.
On the flip side, I can Import a Premiere Pro Sequence in Ae, but the only clips that do show up are NON-merged clips.
Here's what a simple test sequence looks like on the Pr side of things:
And here's how it shows up in Ae when choosing Import-->Adobe Premier Pro Project  (and selecting single sequence):
vs. the exact same sequence sent from Pr to Ae via Dynamic Link:

Hmm..I wonder if it's Multi-Cam merged, vs just single video track and audio track merged, that is the issue.  I'll have to do some more tests.

    nidhiHi Nidhi,
No, if you want to use an 11g export dump and import it using 10g utilities to a 10g database.
Yes, if you use 10g export utility to extract 11g database data, and use 10g import utility to import in 10g database.

  • D750 raw files are noisy on import -  but not in DXO - or NX or even OnOne.    So I'm having to import into NX then export at tiff files.   Cost me sizable disk space and time.

poor imports on D750 raw files.. at iso 800 and above can't even use them.. however if I import into NX then export as tiff it works fine.

If you feel the D610 was doing ok in the same situation where the D750 was not, then upload and post both a D750 and a D610 NEF—taken under comparable conditions if possible.
Nikon software NX will export things with whatever NR the camera was set to.  DxO probably tries to optimnize both Sharpening and Noise-reduction, whereas Lightroom will process things in whatever way the Adobe defaults are set to, regardless of what the camera settings for NR were.
Is it possible you have different default Sharpen settings, or at least the Sharpen Mask increased, for the D610 but not for the D750?  The Mask slider will prevent relatively smooth areas with only noise as the detail from being sharpened.

  • Importing playlists that were exported from iTunes as text

I need to re-import playlists that I exported from iTunes. When exporting them I didn't notice the format selector, which defaults to .txt format. iTunes requires .m3u or XML for playlist import. How can the information in these files be imported (including getting it into a compatible format)?

That is indeed the procedure for importing playlists. Been using it a lot, trying to get these playlists to re-import.
iTunes requires .m3u or XML for playlist import. iTunes doesn't import playlists in text (.txt) format, even though that's the default format when you export them.
If I'd run an import immediately after exporting a playlist I'd have caught this. But who would expect that iTunes might not accept its own default playlist export format for playlist import?
The problem: how to extract and use the information in the text files iTunes exported.

  • How do I get audio back on single clip that loses audio when imported into Premiere Pro CC?

I've got one clip out of many that for some reason won't play any audio when imported into Premiere Pro.  I am new to Premiere Pro so am hoping it's something stupid I've done, but this is a problem with just a single clip exported the same way as all my others, the original audio is loud (not quiet) and none of the FAQ issues seem to apply (ie I haven't muted the audio or anything stupid like that)
The clip was exported from Plural Eyes into a "master" Premiere Pro project where the audio is fine. I exported it as a short MP4 clip and if I play the clip in Windows Media Player the audio is there loud and clear.
But when I import the clip into a fresh Preimiere Pro CC project this clip appears with just the "film strip" icon on the far left in the Timeline panel, unlike other clips which have an icon that shows "film strip" in the background and "audio wave" in the foreground.
I'm hitting so many glitches with the CC editions of Premiere Pro and After Effects which have annoying inconsistencies between them I'm tempted to just go back to Sony Vegas Pro (single program, no hassle) but hoping most of these issues are down to "newbie incompetence". Very hard to understand why this one clip out of many should be giving me this specific problem though. Any ideas?

I'm getting so many weird results. Most go away by simply closing the project and re-opening and I only have 6GB memory but even so, I'm disappointed by what I thought was supposed to be more "world class" video editing software than Sony Vegas Pro which I found to be a lot more stable. Also struggling with differences between Premiere and After Effects. Every time I want to do something in Pro I seem to need to go to After Effects and vice-versa. After Effects lets me do more of what I could "just do" in Vegas Pro timeline, but it's hideous for lining up audio and having to render anything in RAM to even get a clue as to what a change has done.  Need to add Audition to the long list as well I suspect. Fun times!

  • Renaming clips that have already been imported into Event Library...

    Hello all,
Would anyone know how to change the filenames of clips that after they've been imported into my iMovie Event Library?
To keep track of my clips, I changed all the video filenames BEFORE importing them, so in Finder, they look like this:
    clip_0001.mov
    clip_0002.mov
    clip_0003.mov
    etc...
A few dozen videos that I imported a while back have different names, and I'd like to change them to the easier numerical filenames above.
Problem is...I've already created projects using those clips, and simply changing the filenames in Finder would break those Projects. And I'm unsure if I'd have to reimport the files after I change their names.
    Please help! Thanks!

As long as the default iPhoto Preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library" is checked you can delete photos once they are imported and tested within iPhoto
You, of course, still need regular backups to avoid loss due to hardware/software/human failure - I use time machine and a daily clone plus other periodic backups

  • Purchased itunes play but don't import into iMovie

I am trying to import a purchased iTune into an imovie but it says my computer isn't authorized. I can play the song, and even burn music discs, but I just can't get it to import into the movie. I tried this with a couple of other purchased songs and it's the same. When I authorize the computer, it shows a message that it was successfully done, but imovie pops up another message saying that there was an importing error because the song wasn't authorized for the computer. I have made iMovies before using other songs not purchased through iTunes. Please advise.
    Thank you!

I had the same problem, but was able to solve it with a long involved "work around".
I have the software WIRE TAPE from Ambrosia Software. At one time it was freeware, it can grab sound from any CD, tune playing in iTUNES, or even a sound bite from a movie playing in the DVD player. Wire Tap will only record a song at a good healthy volume if you are playing the file you want it to copy, at a good volume, it has no sound adjustments and can only copy what it "hears". It records in a Quicktime format. It will give you the Quicktime player keys, but once you double click on the desktop the file will appear like a little document with the blue Q in it and a computer selected file name which you can easily change. Don't erase the extension after the "." I have found problems in some situations just because a file extension was listed with the file name (fussy computers).
I recorded a song playing in iTUNES and then dragged it back into the iTunes library window. I then had to highlight the file and select from the advanced menu in iTUNES>convert selection to .AIFF. This makes yet another copy of the file, but once it was converted by iTUNES to .AIFF I was able to use it in iMOVIE. I have performed this numerous times on numerous sources I have ripped with wire tap with no problems. I am working in iMOVIE 3 as I am running what I feel is the more stable and bug free 10.2.8. If you are running another revison, I don't know if you will get the same results. Hope this helped.

  • Sony Cybershot M1 / M2 videos don't import into iPhoto6

Hello, I've been using the Sony M1 and now the M2 as my videoblogging camera. I love it because it does both stills and videos well. Since I use iPhoto a fair bit also, I was wondering why the Sony's MPEG4 video doesn't get imported into iPhoto as part of the film roll. I end up having to dig into the memory stick and drag out the videos onto my Mac's desktop.
Is there anyway to get these videos to import into iPhoto 6? Quicktime does play these videos fine.

iPhoto does not support all movie formats nor all codecs. But it's hard to know what the problem is until we know more about the files. Can you move them to the desktop with Image Capture (in your Applications Folder)?
    Regards

  • Movie files suddenly don't import into iMovie

I have been importing dozens of MVI_   .MOV files shot on a Canon 60D and store on my iMac into iMovie no problem. Now after two months when I choose import movie and select the same  files a box comes up saying the file (approx1 GB files)  is processing and it will take less than a minute but the box disappears after 10 secs or so and no file is imported into iMovie. How can I fix this problem that has developed. I've tried with several different files and restarted iMac.

  • Import into SQL Server db from Sybase 7 data source - SQL Server 2008 R2/2012

    Hi,
I need to import Sybase 7 data into a SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 database.
Has anyone any experiences about this import?
    Thanks

The nuance is in basically setting your connection manager right.
If I remember correctly, I did that using the ODBC/ADO, but I do not remember the Sybase version.
I suggest you visit a post dedicated to this operation (the author chose to use the ADO.NET type of a provider):

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence grayed out in Adobe Dynamic Link

I'm using PPro CC, and encore CS6. I have created a finished sequence in Premiere Pro, and I want to bring it into Encore. When I go to -> file -> adobe dynamic link, the premiere pro sequence option is grayed out. Why?

OK, well that explains it. Does that mean that if I import a PProCC sequence into encore,
It means you can't import the sequence itself. You must export a file of some kind from PR/AME, then import that. And yes, there is no way to get your CC projects to update automatically to Encore. You must export a fresh file. You can use "replace asset" and such to simply changing the file.
I went to the link above, and was somewhat distressed to see that the industry is moving away from physical media in favor of streaming. Won't happen in my lifetime, but a world without books and records and DVDs and CDs, etc.? Scarey!
Adobe needed some excuse, and that was theirs. There is clearly a very significant number of users that are a) event videographers/editors who must deliver DVD/bluray to clients and b) hobbyists who want the disk format for themselves and to share. My favorite guesses are a) that Rovio's takeover of Sonic/Roxio voluntarily or involuntarily squeezed Adobe financially or b) they don't want to invest the dollars in other aspects of fixing/upgrading Encore.

  • Making a .mov into .flv  (or exporting from FCP as flash)

I'm trying to get some short movies I made in fcp into captivate. Captivate requires the video to be flash. I have fcp 5, Adobe CS2 (no flash, I dont think), and compressor.
I tried changing the extension file name; it played on my qt player, but once I imported into captivate, it wouldn't play.
Anybody have inexpensive ways to convert h264 or any mov file from fcp into an fla?
I have this sneaking suspicion that I have the tools on my computer, but just can't find them.
Do I have to buy CS4 and learn flash? I'm going to do a lot of this- and while I'd prefer to find a free way right now, I only want to purchase once if possible.
    What's the best way?
    thanks!

You can try encoding with MPEG Streamclip!
It´s easy... and most of all... IT´S FREE!
Google it "MPEG Streamclip" download the Mac version... voilá!
There are other online solutions... try www.mediaconverter.org... but if you need to control a few parameters streamclip it!
    HBars
p.s. it´s not directly from FCP... export a reference clip and do it!

  • Weird audio behaviour from merged clips... 5 channels into 25?!

    hello helpful community,
So, I have hand-synced quite a few clips for a project, and made sub clips by dragging everything into a bin.
The original audio files were .wav with 5 mono tracks, according to the modify clip window…
Now, after merging them, when I drag them into a new sequence to edit, the audio contains 25 channels, and the vast majority of them are blank… there is only audio on track 1,7,13,19 and 25.
Anyone fathom why 5 tracks became 25? I thought maybe each original track was a 5.1 track or something, so it split it into 25 mono tracks, but it says in the modify window that they are mono.
    Any help would be great.

    thanks for then pointer.
Seems others have had this problem.
Does manually deleting the additional audio tracks cause problems to propagate forwards? Any idea when this issue might be rectified?
