Merging 360s in lightroom CC

has anyone successfully merged a 360 for an interiorI'm struggling with a series of photos of interiors/rooms, I'm finding that the walls with a low amount of detail being placed in the wrong location. Can we adjust where the photos are being merged before the final 360 is created?
Thanks for any help.

Which file format do you saving your 32bit HDR image?
From LR 4.1, Lightroom can read 32-bit floating-point images in TIFF and DNG file formats.

Does anyone know how to properly merge our old Lightroom 4 catalogue to the new Lightroom 5 catalogue which is automatically created?

  • Why wont Photoshop Elements 11 merge photos from Lightroom 4?

I'm having problems with automatically merging photos in Photoshop Elements 11 from Lightroom 4. I do my editing in LR4 and when I wish to merge photos (either into a pnaorama or HDR image) all that happens is that PSE11 opens, nothing else. I go through the 'Edit in..' option and click on the desirep option. I can send individual images to edit in PSE11 bun not merge.
I am running windows 8. I have set the external editing software to PSE11. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the software. But still I'm having no luck with the programs working together and doing what I ask of them.  Why is this?

Yes you can open multiple images into PSE from LR. But actually there is no great advantage in using Lightroom for Photomerge as the export copies are already created in the Library but the saved copy will be the merged version which LR will know nothing about, and which would need to be imported to the library separately.
I would personally start from Expert Mode in PSE11 and then use:
    File >> Open
Navigate directly to the folder and select the images you want and click open.
If they are raw files they will open up in camera raw and will already have the light room adjustments included, if the metadata has been saved to file in Lightroom.
Click select all (top left) and then ensure the image depth is set to 8 bits using the drop down menu at the bottom of the dialog. Then click the open images button (bottom right) to send them all into PSE.

  • Trouble merging exposures from Lightroom 5 into Photoshop CC HDR Pro

I'm a new member to Photoshop CC and I'm trying to merge 3 exposures into Photoshop CC HDR Pro. When the exposures move over to the initial adjustments window, there is a large white line running vertically through the image. I'm missing about 40% of the image. This makes it difficult to accurately adjust the HDR. However, when I accept my adjustments and go to the main Photoshop workspace, the entire image is once again available to make subsequent adjustments or add layers.
I work on a 15" MacBook Pro w/ Retina and I'm running OSX Mavericks (if any of that matters).
I look forward to your response and resolution to my problem.
    Thank you.

I am also having this issue with the "Merge to HDR Pro" function in both LR5.2 and PSCC. When the image is viewed at 50% image size in the HDR app everything appears fine. However, once you start to zoom in the image begins to crop out segements starting on the right hand side. See the screen shots below:

    Image at 66%

  • Merge operation in Lightroom cc turn off the active filter

Merge to HDR / Panorama turn off the active filter in LR

Yes, this is to prevent confusion when the merge result falls outside of the active filter and is thus hidden from the user.  Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't - so we chose consistency of behavior.
You should be able to prevent this by clicking the padlock icon in the upper right of the grid view and filter area. This will lock the filter.

  • Merging folders in Lightroom - Help please

I'm a wedding photographer who just switched to MAC.  I have three separate folders (one is mine and 2 that I got from dropbox from my second shooter)  I had incorrectly imported them into lightroom as three separate folders.  I put them all into the same folder in my finder (4,000 images omg) and now I'm trying to re import them into LR so they will be in one catalogue that I can edit from.  It's saying they are already imported and only imported 800 images into my new folder...can anyone help I'm pulling my hair out over here and lost all the edits I did from my first import.  Feeling frustrated...Kelly

Ah yes, playing hide and seek with Lightroom by moving files in the Finder. A common problem but not a major issue for you.
Lightroom has a record of the images in the catalog it just doesnt know where they are since you moved them.
You should see an ! on each of the thumbnails that are technically "missing". Click on it and you will be asked to locate the file. Follow the steps to find the file in the Finder.
Be sure that the Find Nearby Missing Photos button is checked.
Lightroom will find all the missing images.
    No need to re import.

  • Merge to HDR Pro Cs5, results in completely black image.

Whenever i merge from wither Lightroom or even within CS5 itself, the resulting image is more often than not a 32 bit image which displays as a pure black image. This happens even when i choose 8 bit or 16 bit from within the HDR dialogue box.
I can choose to remove the 32 bit preview options from the edit menu, and the image will emerge but with no HDR toning. If i try to convert from 32 bit to 8 or 16, i get teh HDR Toning dialogue box but then immediately get the 'not enough RAM' error message.
    any help would be appreciated.

I can't really help, but I can tell you that I am having similar weird behavior using HDR Pro. I posted several messages here, but with no replies. What happens to me is varied. Sometimes CS5 aligns the images being merged, and sometimes not (using the same images). I also have the same issue of getting a completely black screen when trying to convert to 16 bit. The workaround for me is to close and reopen PS. If I do this the conversion will generally work, but only once. So when doing HDR I have to close and open PS between each HDR session.
What I notice in both these cases is that there seem to be two steps in the process. In the original merge there is process of making layers and processing each of the images to be merged individually. After that the alignment process begins, with marquees, transforms, crops, etc. In the 16 bit conversion there if first the process of getting to 32-bit options, and then there is a progress bar, which has to complete before the final conversion to a lower bit depth.
My supposition (and mere supposition it is) is that there is some kind of memory issue here, but that it is not well handled by the program. In CS4 when merging more than three frames, I often encountered out-of-memory errors, which could usually be fixed by changing performance parameters (especially reducing the number of history states). But at least in CS4 there was a clear indication of OOM problems, and that doesn't seem to be the case here.
I am going to be trying changing various performance parameters, such as memory states, cache levels and tile sizes, and if and when I find anything out I will post results. So far the only thing I have found is that when I am having alignment problems, it is better to open HDR Pro directly in CS5, rather than from Bridge. I don't know why.

  • Lightroom CC 2015 HDR does not work!

I have tested the HDR merge feature in Lightroom CC 2015 using photos taken inside rooms with windows that provide a view of a sunny outdoor area. Both HDR Efex Pro and Photomatix render the rooms interior and the details of the exterior as seen through the window. Using LR HDR the window is just one big blown out highlight. Other problems include:
    1) No ability to adjust the amount of tone compression
    2) Limited ability to adjust the HDR output in the develop module because the Highlights slider is at zero and the Shadows slider is around 70%.
    3) If you click the reset button in the Develop module you get an image with both the highlights and shadows completely blown out instead of the tone mapped image you would see in HDR Efex Pro or Photomatix.
I am stunned that Adobe would provide a feature that works so poorly. With the images I have tried it really does not work at all. What's the story?

Here is a +/- 3 EV HDR that both LR6/ACR9 and PS-HDR Pro do a reasonable job with, where the only adjustments are clicking Auto in LR:
Here are the three images, EV+0, EV-3, EV+3, where to get a reasonable view out the windows, the interior was nearly black and to get a reasonable view of the interior, the windows are nearly white.
Here is a side-by-side of the EV+0 shot with various adjustments applied vs the LR6/ACR9 HDR result with Auto clicked.  Tonally they look similar.  What is better with the LR6/ACR9 version is the view out the windows has more detail and less clipped, and the noise in the darker areas is much better, meaning LR6/ACR9 used more of the brighter image for the floor and more of the darkest image for the view out the windows, which is exactly what HDR is supposed to do:

  • Sharp Banding in HDR Images

Experimenting with the new HDR Merge feature in Lightroom CC I am having a lot of trouble with harsh sharp bands appearing in the image, especially around horizon lines and clouds. Sometimes they're not visible unless zoomed in 1:1, other times they're very obvious and ruin the photo. The example below is a crop from one of the worst photos I've merged so far.
Deghost Amount does not seem to effect these bands.

Ooh that's ugly! I would try doing the HDR with fewer images that are further apart in exposure.  It appears that the merging algorithm is locking on to the wrong features in the images. Features that actually are moving.

  • Lightroom command edit merge to panorama in photoshop no longer working

    Photoshop CS 6, 13.0.6.
    Lightroom 6 version 5.0
    Camera raw 8.1
    On an iMac, OS 10.8.5
Working in LR, I select several images.
    Photoshop is already open.
I'm trying to merge the images.
I've used the pull down under Photo edit in..merge to panorama in photoshop
    hundreds of times!
Now suddenly, with nothing different that I can tell,it doesn't work.
    Nothing happens.
Sometimes the photoshop window comes up but usually nothing.
    What's wrong?

beverlyb - same issue (after trying the CS6 30 day trial on my machine with CS5). Interesting that it's an issue on Mac as well (I use win8.1). I had an Adobe engineer "take over" my PC and he/she was unable to fix it... Ugh! Really the main thing I use photoshop for. Can you do it manually (under File > automation > photomerge I think)?

  • Lightroom link to PS Panorama merge Not working with Photoshop CC 2014 upgrade

I recently received an upgrade to PS CC to PS CC2014. After Upgrading I now notice the Option in Lightroom 5.5 to edit in PS and merge to Panorama is no longer working.
When used, PS program starts, but does not con tune with the script to load existing files and merge into a panorama image.
Does PS CC 2014 use a different script? as it seems to be failing.
Has anyone else had this issue, is there a fix coming?

This worked for me, and a simple solution...
Start PS - restart LR :-)

  • Does lightroom have photo merge or do you need full photoshop?

does lightroom have photo merge or do you need full photoshop?

You're welcome. If you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements installed, when you right-click on an image in Lightroom and choose to edit in one of those programs, one of the options is to merge to a panorama using that program. If you don't have program installed that will do that the option will not appear.

  • Edit RAW in Lightroom 4 then Merge in Photoshop 6, or Merge in Photoshop 6 then Edit in Lightroom 4?

I am wanting to make a panorama. Should I first Edit my RAW files in Lightroom 4 then Merge in Photoshop 6, or Merge in Photoshop 6 and then Edit in Lightroom 4?
I can easily edit the RAW files first and then go back and redo them if I have to in Lightroom, but if I Merge it first in Photoshop I no longer have a RAW file to play with.
I am using .DNG files in Lightroom.

I would import the individual photos into LR, make adjustments to the individual photos, use LR’s Merge in Photoshop to create your panorama in PS, then you can make adjustments in PS and LR, but the panorama is no longer a raw file.
You could obviously use Bridge and ACR to do similar things to the individual raw photos as you can in LR, so the choice is the import/catalog structure of LR or just the files in folders non-structure of Bridge.

  • Merge to panorama from Lightroom to PS CS6 "could not be started"

I'm sure someone else has had this issue - but I've been searching for two days without finding it! I use LR 5.6 (5.7 as of 1 hour ago). I have PS CS5.1. I've routinely merged to panorama from Lightroom with no issues using CS5. I can upgrade to CS6 for $200 and I was led to believe the camera raw was contemporary (rather than giving me the "export anyway" dialog), the merge algorithm was better and the content-aware fill had been improved. As this really the only thing I us PS for (mostly), I thought I'd try the trial version and see if I could evaluate side-by-side.
When I "merge to panorama" now in LR, CS6 opens, makes me click the obligatory trail dialog, then just sits there... Eventually, LR comes up with the error that CS6 could not be launched (even though it does launch). I tried opening the DNG files in bridge and I could merge them... Did not notice an improvement in the content-aware fill - but I'd like to merge the same series on my laptop (with CS5) and desktop (with CS6) and give it a fair comparison. What could I be doing wrong??? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry. Are you saying that resetting Preferences did not work, or that you don't want to try it?
Are you asking the same question in the Lightroom forum?
This link refers to Bridge, but it covers CC scripting problems.  I was going to ask if using CC 2013 helped, although I suspect that wherever you initiate the script from will default to the most recent version of Photoshop.  So you are probably going to need to uninstall and reinstall.

Cannot figure out what is wrong. It says my lightroom is up to date but not showing the option photo>photo merge so I can use the new HDR function in Lightroom. Is anyone else having this problem?

Contact Adobe. That is what I finally had to do. the number is 1-800-833-6687. There was a problem with a file. They took over my computer and got everything working for me.
