Merging Apple Accounts

My wife and I have separate Apple accounts for our respective phones and IPads. Can we merge the two together without losing data and keeping our stuff (like contacts, calendars, photos, etc) separate?

You cannot merge icloud accounts.

I have several apple accounts, I use only one but occaisionally get pushed into one of the fallow accounts by accident.
Years ago I had a me.com account.  At some point in my apple purchases I got connected to an apple ID attached to my gmail account.  I have been using that ever since, this is where I have all my purchases (apps, books, music, videos...) so obviously I am going to stay with that account.  I tried to setup icloud on my computer to sync all my data but it would not allow me to connect to the previous icloud account, which was simply converted from my me.com account.  Instead I was forced to create yet another icloud account with a different spelling.
Of course I can just use the new icloud account, with the strange spelling, and have that attached to my apple ID, but what I want is the original spelling, from the me.com account that was auto-converted to icloud.
So...  How can I delete that account so I can create it attached to my active apple ID account, or how can I merge it with my active apple ID account.
The worst case is to leave these generated accounts lying around where they can be abused, or cause confusion when I accidentally log into them.  The less evil solution is to allow me to disable an account I no longer wish to use so that I do not get confused and accidentally log into it on one of my devices, or someone else does not find the fallow account and abuse it...
Any thoughts out here?  Is this possible?  Or is AppleID brain dead... ?

  • HT204053 How do I merge apple accounts under two different email addresses?

I have an apple account set up under my gmail address. When I try to enter it on my phone, it says an apple account already exists for this address. So I created an iCloud email address and now that is on my phone, but I'd like to link up my gmail address too.

I have a MobileMe account and I want to use that as my Apple ID, so how do I transfer everything to my MobileMe account?

The answer is…you can't, and Apple won't do it for you.

I want to consolidate two apple accounts.  How do i do this?

You can't. Apple does not have any way to merge Apple accounts.

  • How Do I Merge Multiple Apple Accounts? (iCloud and iTunes)

My old MoblieMe.com account wags created under my Me.com address while my iTunes account was created under my Gmail.com account.    My old MobileMe.com/New iCloud.com account has a one year of free extra storage attached to it.  My iTunes account has all my past purchases attached to it.  Would rather not loose either.  Is there any way to merge the two accounts?

yep - me too - I cannot believe that you can't merge 2 accounts! I am getting in a real muddle now.  I know it seems crazy at this point as to why I set up a new account under a new email - but registering yet more new Apple equipment it was easily done!!

  • I have multiple Apple IDs, can I delete one and/or merge my accounts?

I unintentionally have multiple Apple IDs. I just switched to an iPhone and the store employee created what is now my 3rd apple Id. Is there a way I can I delete the extra accounts so that I can have my email addresses all in one place? Or is there a way to merge my accounts?

    1. No. Only Apple itself can delete Apple IDs; if desired, click here and contact them.
    2. No.

  • Somehow I have two apple accounts. Can I merge the two?

I am not sure why but I have two apple accounts with two different email addresses.  This is causing problems with iMessages not syncing over my devices because the different email addresses cause messages to be sent to different devices so I miss messages.  Can I merge the two apple accounts, if so.  How?

Please see item no. 5 of this article:

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • I have two apple accounts that I cannot get to merge as one.

I have two apple accounts that I cannot get to merge.  One is a hotmail address and the other a gmail address as primary addresses in the two accounts. I would like to merge them into one account.  I cannot verify the addresses of either accounts because when I do it will say that the address already exists.  Therefore I can't get them to merge.
    Also...
Me.com and hotmail are under the same account., but when I log into me.com some of the accounts turn into the hotmail account.  I do not use hotmail anymore and use gmail regularly.
Any insight to these problems would be appreciated.

If these are both used as Apple IDs, then they cannot be merged. If they are just two email accounts of which you only wish to use one, then you would need to transfer the data you want to save from one to the other. Since the data are just email you would need to look for a way to export it from one email address as a file compatible with what the other can import.

  • How do I merge Apple ID accounts so i can verify iCloud on iPhone?

I recently go iCloud, but am unable to use it because:
When I signed up in Apple Store year ago I used "imagaria". I then had to create one tied to my email "[email protected]". But now, when I try to verify my Apple account to use iCloud, it says:
"That Apple ID is already in use.If this Apple ID was created by you, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password. If it does not belong to you, try again using a different name."
I have signed out of everything tied to Apple, my Mac iTunes, my iPhone App Store etc.
In the Manage Your Account, it says to "
Make your Apple ID and primary email address one and the same."
However, it will not let me do so to use iCloud.
Am I doomed forever to not be able to use iCloud?

Just create a new id for iCloud and keep imagaria for Itubes and Itunes match.  You can not merge accounts.

  • I changed my email address on one of my old APPLE accounts and want to merge my accounts together, how can I change my email address on my old Apple account?

I changed my email address on one of my old APPLE accounts and want to merge my accounts together so I can get all my songs!!  My computer crashed and I'm tryng to change everything over to my mac via my ipod classic and just Transfer old files.  It's ejecting my disc (ipod) so I figured I could just change my old Apple ID to be one with my new one.
how can I change my email address on my old Apple account?

There is no way to merge two Apple IDs as all purchases made with each account are always tied to those accounts.
All you can do to each account is change the email address for each one but they can't have the same email address.

  • How to merge two Apple accounts by migration

    Hello to you all
My question relates about merging two apple accounts.
Having two accounts is an issue (for instance when you start setting up Family sharing, or trying to get phone calls on your Mac)
As we know, merging two accounts is alas (still ?) not possible.
But it should be possible to address the issue it my migrating data.
As many people, I have two accounts:
Account A: [email protected], with all my purchases (iTunes, apps, machines)
Account B: [email protected], with my calendar, contacts, bookmarks, photos...
The best possible option seems to keep account A:
    - Transfer the data from B to A
    - Possibly transferring the [email protected] address into A
    - Close B
    About the data transfer:
    - Transferring iCloud documents is easy (using the Finder)
    - Transferring contacts, events bookmarks is also easy as they can be exported (ex .VCF or html)
    - Transferring Notes can be done by moving the notes from the iCloud list to the On my Mac List
    - Transferring Passwords and Photostreams is difficult (No Export solution for KeyChains, No way to transfer ownership of a photo stream)
    - I do not know yet about transferring the iCloud email address [email protected] into the [email protected]
    So my questions are:
    1) Do you have any idea about transferring Passwords in KeyChain from one iCloud account to another ?
    2) Do you have any idea about transferring ownership of a photo stream to one iCloud account to another ?
    3) Do you have any idea about the email address transfer
    4) Do you have any other way to do this ?
    Thanks for your attention
    Kind regards

The easiest thing to do would be to use an iOS device, such as your iPhone to migrate the data from one account to the other.  You can go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign out of account B, choose Keep on My iPhone and provide your password when prompted, then sign back in using ID A to create a new iCloud account and choose Merge when prompted to upload the data.  This will not migrate notes, which as you said, can be dragged and dropped between accounts on your Mac.
This will also not move your existing iCloud email account.  You cannot move an iCloud email account to a new iCloud account.  You would either have to switch to the new @icloud.com email account that goes with your new iCloud account, or continue to use the existing email account as a "secondary account"  To do this, you would go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud on your iOS devices (and System Preferences>Internet Accounts>iCloud on your Mac), sign back into account B and turn on Mail.  Just be aware that, at least on an iOS device, this would not be push email as push is only supported in the primary iCloud account.
Photo stream cannot be moved between accounts either, not can it be enabled in a secondary account.  If you want to keep your photo stream photos you'll have to either save them to your device, or add them to a shared album before signing out of the existing account (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  Another option would be to import them to your iPhoto events, then add them back to your new photo stream using iPhoto when you sign into the new iCloud account on your Mac.
For iCloud keychain, I believe you can turn it off iCloud keychain and you will be given an option to keep a copy of any saved passwords and credit card information on your device.  Then set up iCloud keychain again once you are signed into your new iCloud account.
