Merging Apps, Pics, and Music from Iphone to Mac Snow Leopard

I merged my Iphone to the computer thinking my music, pics, and Apps would merge like my contacts and calender. How do i get my music, pics, and apps from the phone to my Mac.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Can you be more specific? What programs' data do you want on your Mac?

You can only move purchased music and apps from the iPhone to the computer. Connect the phone but do not sync. Choose "Transfer Purchases" from the file menu.
Photos in the camera roll can be transferred using iPhoto, but photos in the Photo app cannot be. There are commercial Mac programs that can copy the photos off the iPhone; Google is your friend. But be aware that the photos on the iPhone are lower resolution than the originals.

  • How do i move music from iphone to mac?

Our mac does not have our full library (from our old PC), our iphones do.  when I turned on the "library sharing" it deleted the songs off our PC and the library now matches our mac. However, our Iphones have all of our songs. How can we export those songs back to the mac/pc?

Hello, you can try iStonsoft all-in-one iPhone to Mac transfer.   iStonsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer can easily transfer almost all your files from iPhone to Mac for backup or sharing, with it you can transfer music from iPhone to Mac without any problems, as well as movies, photos, books, TV shows, playlists, etc. In addition, it also works well with iPad and iPod touch.

  • How do I sync music from iphone to mac?

About a year after the rest of the world, iTunes sent to my iPhone the U2 album that everyone else was force-fed and some other music too from a German radio station. I never asked for any of this, but actually quite like it, so I wanted to transfer the music to my Mac. A simple sync by plugging iPhone 6 into Mac did nothing. So I restarted the iPhone, also nothing. I highlighted the songs in iTunes on the iPhone and clicked "Add To", but apart from taking an age, that didn't work either. Anyone have any bright ideas? I looked around in the forum, but found nothing helpful. The handbook or instruction manual was no help either. All I want to do is get the stuff that iTunes forced on to my iPhone to my Mac. Sounds simple, but apparently it isn't. Grateful for helpful responses.

Go to iTunes website and purchase latest iTunes this is very necessary it is the only way you can sync your files to your laptop because iPods/iPhones don't work the same way as normal mp3 players that come out as removable disk in the computer.
AnywY get iTunes the pages one because you constantly update your iPhones iOS so yea get otunes and stick the cable that connects from tour iPhone to your Mac book the. Open iTunes then your iPod will come up as an iPod or iPhone.

  • I want to sync music from iPhone to Mac iTunes library

Im all confused.  my existing library on my computer is all messed up. I have a bunch of duplicate song files and some that aren't able to "be found" and I want to somehow wipe all the info and music from my Mac iTunes library and put only my music from my iPhone into a new fresh iTunes library.

    Hello Carrie,
I definitely understand wanting to clean up your iTunes library.  There are a few resources I recommend looking at.
Firstly, if you wanted to continue with your existing library, you can identify duplicates in iTunes following these steps:
Choose File > Display Duplicates to show duplicate items (matches are based on the song name and artist). If you have multiple versions of the same song (for example, live and studio versions, or versions from different albums) you can hold the Alt or Option key (for Mac OS X) or the Shift key (for Windows) and choose File > Display Exact Duplicates. This will show only duplicate songs having the same name, artist, and album.
If you are using iTunes 11 (the latest version of iTunes at this time), you will need to go to View>Show Duplicate Items (you can hold Alt or Option here as well to get the Show Exact Duplicate Items option).  You can find the full article here:
How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2905
If you think the music you are missing in iTunes is located on your computer somewhere, I recommend reviewing this article:
iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408
If neither of those help and you prefer to recreate your iTunes Library, I recommend review this next article.  This article outlines what media you are able to transfer from your iPhone to your computer:
iTunes: Transferring media from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1209
I recommend creating the new library and making sure it has everything you want in it before deleting your library that is disorganized.  This article outlines creating a new iTunes Library and how to switch between libraries:

How do I transfer music from my iPhone to my Mac Pro

Some of the information below has subsequently been summarized by turingtest2 in the post at https://discussions.apple.com/message/18842615
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How to transfer music from iphone to mac?

There was a problem on my mac so went to the Apple store. They said the only solution was to erase all the data and start over. But I didn't get to back up my data so I don't have my music anywhere except on my iPhone. So is there a way to transfer music from my iPhone to my Mac iTunes?

  • Copy music from iPhone to Mac

Hi. So I believe that I may have deleted music from my iTunes after transferring it to my iPhone to save on space. Is there any way that I can backup my music that is on my iPhone to my Mac? Is it as simple as copy and paste?

No, cut-and-paste is not possible. Check out this post from Zevoneer for some iPhone media recovery options:

You'll need to make sure whatever utility you select, if you need to transfer content not purchased from the iTunes Store, supports your iPhone. Not all will.
    Regards.

  • Streaming music from iPhone to Mac?

Hey guys, I'm currently using a Macbook Pro with Retina Display, the late 2013 version and also the iPhone 6, 64GB. I recently found out that I could play music from my computer but controlling it with my phone. It's called streaming music, I guess? I'm not too sure. I've been trying to figure out how to do that for the past few weeks and I've been unable to do that and I'd like to know how to do it cause I'd love to stream music from my phone but playing from my Mac.
I could really use some help with this.

simple really. You get a box (that's the Apple tv), You plug it into the wall, and then into the tv set. You run setup, it finds your network, then you get out either your Macbook pro, mac pro, iPhone or whatever else has Airplay built in (it's under iTunes--I don't know if you can share all of your music or control it, but I know it's there). You find something you want to stream to the Apple tv,  make sure airplay is on  , you click play on it, and it shows up on the tv.  It's  $70.  Reflector or something like that, which lets you stream from your iphone to your Mac, is around $15.  XBMC should be free (I just found out that you have to jailbreak your iphone first), so there's that.  Along with Reflector, there's AirServer and X-Mirage. You also have to turn mirroring on. I've also found out it works with Airport express. I think Apple designed Airplay to work with Apple tv and airport expres only, so I'd recommend going with Reflector, AirServer or X-Mirage, all of which should do the job okay

  • Moving photos and music from iPod to Mac

I have a MacBook and my hard drive just died. I was wondering if I could move my photos and music that are currently on my iPod back on to my mac's new hard drive. I had the box in iTunes checked that said store full resoultion photos on iPod after enabling disk use, but I currently don't have disc use enabled. Could I enable it and then sync the photos and music back?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Changing to manual will also enable the iPod for disc use: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Senuti Mac Only
    PodView Mac Only
    PodWorks Mac Only
iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • How To: Synch Notes,SMS and Whatever from iPhone to Mac

When I saw that Mark/Space was planning to release a version of Missing Sync for iPhone my first reaction was: what for? But as it happens I think they've hit upon some needed features that are actually missing from the out-of-the-box iPhone experience. First is a Migration Assistant for moving contacts, calendar entries, and photos from a Palm, Windows Mobile, or Blackberry device onto your Mac and thence to the iPhone. It also syncs your SMS messages and call log to your Mac so you don't lose information when you hit the storage limits on the iPhone. Best of all, perhaps, is Notes syncing, which will allow you to view iPhone notes in Yojimbo, Entourage, or Mark/Space's Notebook application. Unfortunately, however, it appears that it's only one-way, from the iPhone to the Mac, and not vice versa. This lack two-way Notes syncing remains a puzzling lacuna as far as I'm concerned, and I'm looking forward to somebody, whether it be Apple or Mark/Space, filling this obvious hole in the iPhone feature set.
Missing Sync for iPhone won't be available until the 4th quarter and will sell for Mark/Space's normal price of $39.95, but crossgrades will be offered from other Missing Sync products.

  • How to transfer SMS and Contacts from iPhone to Mac?

I want to transfer my all important SMS and Contacts to computer on Mac because the box is full for a few days.So i am looking for the effective program to help me back up my stuffs. Having said that, any suggestions for a good iPhone manager/iPhone transfer software, which is better to be free without payment.
I'm desperate any help would be appreciated...

Google "PhoneView" or "iPhone Explorer" but you should be syncing your contacts with your Mac's Address Book anyway via iTunes or MobileMe. That's the way it is designed to be used.
