Merging data into PDF
Hi,
I am trying to merge data into PDF using FDF toolkit and seem to be having trouble viewing the document in IE 6.0. I tried setting the content type on the response to 'application/vnd.fdf'
Would appreciate if i can get some input on this.
Thanks.
There is a good library to create pdf from a java program or a servlet in this page:
http://www.lowagie.com/iText/download.html
It's easy to use and there are different examples. It also allow you create the pdf document on-line in the client.
If you need some help me I have used it and I can send you an example if you need.

Sri.Hi Sri Sai,
I know one method to convert the sapscript to pdf file :
first generate a Spool Request for the required Sapscript
then goto transaction SP01 and copy the generated Spool Request number
now execute the SAP report RSTXPDFT4
here enter the copied Spool request number and the target directory into the parameters
execute the report
required pdf file will be generated into the target directory
i hope it will help you out

Convert Binary Data into Pdf & send it as attachment in a mail in Workflow
Hi,
Scenario:
The interactive form saved in WebDynpro Application is sent to R/3 in binary format. It has to be converted into pdf and sent it as an attachment in mail to the respective person in workflow.
Kindly help on these issues :
1. How to receive the binary data in R/3 sent by the WebDynpro Application ?
To my knowledge we can receive the binary in XSTRING data type. Plz correct me if am wrong.
2. How do i convert the received binary data into pdf ?
Thanks,
Bharath KaushikHi Bharath,
I think you should try to write dat being sent to R/3 to spool first, as in R/3 there is FM <i>CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF</i> , with the help of which you will be able to convert Binary data to PDF format.
Pls find one of the threads related to this , and see if this is useful to you.
Problem in CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.
Hope this atleast helps to start off.

Want to merge data into a table containing 10 million rows
Can somebody suggest me a fast and optimized way to merge data into the table. The source table contains 1 million data.
Hi,
use merge!
Another option, create a new table as CTAS from target and source.

Hi Experts,
when trying to upload a PDF file to my WD4A application and extract the data I am getting this ADS Error:
ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Error exporting Data into PDF - PDF Exception: Invalid object for the XFA entry in the forms dictionary.(200201).
The error only appears when I`m trying to upload a PDF file that has been created after an Java Script Update of the Adobe Form Builder. My actual version is 710.20070621204053.403203.403203 - ContainerFoundation_JS.
All PDF files created before this update can be uploaded without problems. Am I missing something to be updated?!
Thanx & best regards,

This configuration is weird little bit. There is MatchExpression /app1 and MatchExpression /app2 and at the same time two <Location /weblogic> sections. Are you sure you understand what that configuration stands for?
Try something like this ...

SetHandler weblogic-handler

How to input data into Pdf file
I am not too sure if I am posting my question in the right forum.
I would like to know what version of Adobe acrobat can allow me to create a document, where clients can input data into it?
Here is an online example
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/N-400.pdf
Thanks.
OceansIf your users will be using Reader and you want your users to be able to save the form or email it, you will need to apply 'Extended Form Rights' (version 8 Provessional or Version 9 Standard or better) and for signatures you will need to apply 'Signature Rights' using an Adobe server product.

When I go to SP01 and check the spool generated it is in raw document type.
How can I convert this raw document to pdf type ??
Please help me to resolve this.
Regards,
KrishnaOk, since I can't edit the post anymore, here the new version of code, without the use of SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY for intermediate table. Reasons: effectively doubles the memory use and I don't want to check if the kernel is cutting off the hexdecimal nulls when the last spool line is written, or to relay of that behaviour.
Matthew Billingham, and other mods: it would be really nice if you could hide the old version please (this post here). The number of google results for that FM is scary and I really don't want to contribute to promoting its use...

Dynamically insert data into PDF possible?
This is the scenario and I am hoping someone can advise whether it is possible.
We want to create a PDF fillable form. However there are a few fields that we want to be read only but to injected before the user downloads the PDF.
e.g.
There is a PDF form called contact details. Only registered users can download this form. So what we are trying to achieve here is when the user logs on and downloads this PDF, server side we want to inject their details into this form so that it is read only.
In the lifestyle IDE there is a XML tab where I can see it drives the PDF.
Is there like a tool of some sort where I can dynamically update the XML source and regenerate the PDF?
ThanksThanks sandeep for your quick reply.
My req is
Step 1:- invoke a webservice call and get the data from a website and store it into a table in xml format(CLOB column in a table)
Step 2 :- Pick the xml data from table inserted by step1 and derive all the element values from xml data usning some xml functions
2.1 go to configuration table(in this table we are storing the table name for each type of webservice call) and get the destination table name.
2.3 insert the data into destination table.
so our interface process is designed to serve for multiple interface webservice calls.it is not for a particular data.
so in future if someone else want to download some other data then they need to add the configuration data into config tables and should be able to achieve the data download into tables.
so step 1 and step 2 should be a coomon packages.
i am involved in 2nd package where pick the xml data and insert into a table(destination table form config tablke)
Thanks Ram -
Hi!
Can someone tell me how can I merge data from one table in one clob?
for example: I have table emp with columns id,name, iddept. Now I need those data in one clob column for each iddept.
id name iddept
1 jack 01
2 joe 01
3 inna 02
4 blake 03and now I need 3 rows like
id clob
1 1jack012joe01
2 3inna02
3 4blake03Regards,

I resolved my problem.
Edited by: drama9346 on 8.11.2012 4:06There is a good library to create pdf from a java program or a servlet in this page:
http://www.lowagie.com/iText/download.html
It's easy to use and there are different examples. It also allow you create the pdf document on-line in the client.
If you need some help me I have used it and I can send you an example if you need.

Removing PDF Security Settings ??
