Merging data with the cloud
Backed up on the cloud, I have my latest data, however on my iphone I have Notes data that is not in the cloud. How can I merge the Notes with the data on the cloud so that everything is the latest information and data ? Thanks
I don't think you're going to get a Merge option for Notes. You're going to have to email each note on your phone to yourself that is not already in iCloud, then allow iCloud to overwrite your notes, then delete any notes that you don't want, then copy/paste the text of the notes you emailed ealier into new notes created in the iCloud account.

Curious, if my StorSimple solution loses internet connection and cannot communicate with the cloud, what would the expected behavior be? Will my volumes go offline or will I still have use of my local data? What happens if a cloud snapshot is in progress?

Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative to iCal that will interface with the Cloud so it works on the iPhone and the Macbook? I find iCal to be poorly designed and not very efficient. I waste a lot of time entering information because you can't go to a specific day and enter information, nor can you navigate between months and add information on a specific date by clicking on the date. You can't easily scroll month-to-month and once you do by scrolling through nine months to get to where you want to be, you cannot enter information by clicking on a specific day in the month and entering information. I just called Apple and they verified that this is the way it works. You cannot go to a date and enter information, you keep getting thrown back to today and then you have to go into the calendar and change it manually on the screen. It is just not efficient.

I took my 1st gen iPad to an Apple store because of some glitches in the operating system, and I had forgotten my restrictions pass code. They backed up my data on the cloud, then took everything off of my iPad to basically "start over" with a new iPad. Now I don't know how to retrieve my calendar, notes, reminders. Somehow my contacts are there. I went to general settings and made sure the cloud was turned on, but I don't know how to pull from the cloud what we had previously backed up. Thanks for ANY suggestions:)
When you have forgotten a restrictions password, you can no long restore from a backup that had the restrictions turned on. You can only start over with a full reset.
But you can sign back into icloud (Setting>icloud) and turn on the services you have used before (calendars, reminders, etc...). That will sync down the data to your ipad. -
I was using the iCloud for my iPod and had recorded several irreplaceable Voice Memos. It went up to the Cloud, but I wasn't too savvy with the Cloud at that point, so it wasn't syncronizing to my home computer. So, the thing is that the iPod died and the backup is in the Cloud and I would like to load the backup to my iMac to recover my data. How can I do that? Thanks
The new device I got to replace the iTouch is a iPad and I don't see the playlist I created with previous voice memos on it at all. Is there any way to access them on the iPad? If I erase the iPad and restore it with the old back up will the Voice Memos come along and get in to my home computer or will I be out of luck?

Merging data with LiveCycle questions
I have LiveCycle Designer 8.0 and I didn't find a forum for it so just point me in the right direction if this is not the place.
I have a couple of questions with merging data with Livecycle PDFS
1. XDP is the file format for merging data with LiveCycle created PDFs (FDF was with Acrobat)? if not, what is the format?
2. We want different colors of the same PDF without actually making the different PDFS, is there a way we can do this through the merging the data? For example: In the XDP file, we specify the color of the border of a rectangle. When the PDF merges with the data, will the PDF be able to change the border of the rectangle with the specified color?
3. Can a picture (a specific size) be merged in the PDF?

An XDP file is simply an XML file that packages a PDF file in XML, along with XML form and template data. Data can be merged from generic .xml or the XML version of FDF called XFDF.

Yes. Consider a field called 'firstName'. I can add a script to the form:ready event that checks the value of the data merged with the field and changes the border edge color to red if the data is not equal to 'Steve'.

If you are referring to iCloud, the information on this portion of Apple's support site should help for starters:

You are correct, You can load the Data from ODSA / ODSB to ODSC.
1. Create the ODSC which are include the fileds A,B,C,D,E.
2. Create the Transfermation from ODSA to ODSC> Give the Propermapping with A,B,C,D> Save and Activate the Transfermation.
3. Create the another Transfermation from ODSB to ODSC--> Give the mapppings with A and E only, then save and activate the Transfermation.
4. Create the two DTPs for indevidual loading data from ODSA>ODSC and ODSB>ODSC.
You can see the Data from ODSC by selecting Manage.

Unfortunately, I lost by an update all the apps on my iPad 2. Now I can not pull the data from the cloud to my iPad. How is this possible?
If you just installed iCloud does that mean you updated the iOS that's running on your iPad? If so, you'll want to restore all the programs you have from the backup you hopefully made.

If you don't want to use iCloud, simply don't activate it.
You can also download the programs again.

I've got a little problem with my iTunes, because i've purchased some albums on iTunes Store before having my iPhone.
Then I have my iPhone and these songs were automaticly synchronized with my iPhone and they are not in my iTunes's library, but they are on my iPhone's tracklist with the "Cloud" on the right side of each song. The prob is that I want to delete them... And I can't because I don't know where are the songs..!
Can you help me please?You can't delete them because they aren't on your phone. These are links to previously purchased songs that you can download from the iTunes store. Your previously purchased song list cannot be deleted. However, you can keep these from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.

My calendar does not sync with the cloud properly.
Hello. I have just put in a weeks worth of events into my iPhone calendar and none of it has synched with the cloud and is not visible on any of my devices. Anybody any ideas? Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere.
Have you logged into icloud on the iphone? Have you turned on Calendar in settings>icloud? Are you able to connect the iphone with other services on icloud, like contacts?

Why does only 1 of my 3 devices "associate" with the Cloud?
I understand that Apple's Cloud service for uploading will not be available til Fall. But I also infer that tracks purchased from iTunes can at the present instant be accessed from the new "Cloud" providing it's done with the newest version of iTunes (10.3) and with an iPod Touch 3th or 4th gen. or an iPad 1st or 2nd gen. However, when I connect my iPod 3, iPod 4, and iPad 1 to my computer with iTunes and go to my account, I'm told that only one--the iPod Touch 4th generation is "associated" with the Cloud. Is is possible to "associate" all 3 devices with the "Cloud"?
Several months ago I followed the directions on Apple's web page and changed my I. D. number to a different, all-purpose I.D. When I enter my old ID in my account, I'm told that I apparently have no device "associated" with the Cloud, so perhaps I should be grateful that at least my 8 gig iPod 4th generation is "associated" with the Cloud, provided I use my 2nd, newer I.D. Still iCloud becomes more puzzling the more I try to get all machines and devices in synch. Up to this point, the Amazon Cloud has been far easier to negotiate.I probably "over-read" the Apple website hype about the advantages of creating a single personal Apple I.D. which would apply to practically all things Apple. To quote: "An Apple ID lets you personalize your Apple experience. Once you've created an Apple ID, you'll use it to access Apple resources where it's helpful to identify yourself. From Apple Discussions to iTunes to the Apple Online Store and everything in between, Apple ID is your passport to the extended Apple experience."
Hence, I created an "Apple ID," following the example "[email protected]" (Who wants to miss out on a "passport to the extended Apple experience.") However, I already had an ID (though it was not my Apple address), and apparently was already the benefactor of the benefits of the so-called "personal Apple ID." Consequently, I now have two different iTunes IDs and two different passwords. Apple has responded to my requests to have a single ID by saying that my request is for the impossible. I simply have to remember both IDs and both passwords, entering both when attempting to use different computers and devices while downloading and taking inventory of my iTunes files.
So I'm pretty sure I've followed your suggestions already with respect to all 3 "eligible" devices, but I'll certainly give it another go-round. From what you say, it appears that being "associated" with the cloud should not limit me only to an iPod Touch 4th generation. -

Walked through Birmingham City Centre today (close to Bull Ring) having got my Touch out and watched a YouTube video walking along, moving from one hotspot to another - a bit stuttery as the signal dropped sometimes as TheCloud hot spots didn't overlap. But, at the pub, you are chatting to your mates and someone mentions something on YouTube so you whip out your Touch, press YouTube and everyone can have a look at it. Pretty smart.
I've been testing it out last few days and, now, it's all seamless. No log in, just have wifi switched on and if signal appears can just press safari, youtube or itunes and "boom" it works. -

From my testing by writing a program, this function module will only show the text and key if both have different data. Please find the coding as below. Is the normal behaviour of this function module? How to overcome this problem? Thanks in advance.

This surely seems to be a bug to me(if not by design), did you check for any SAP notes? Perhaps a front end trace can help(Note 407743) !

Recently moved to a new PC. Upon installing iTunes, in the Settings dialogue, I've indicated where my iTunes library is stored. And yet, all of my albums in iTunes are showing up with the "cloud" icon, meaning that the client doesn't realize there is a local copy. Clicking the "cloud" icon ends up downloading a duplicate copy of the song/album.
Any suggestions for how to fix this...so that my iTunes client knows all of this music is on my hard drive (in addition to being in the cloud)?
