Merging Flash
I have a flash background that's going to act as the template for a 'site'. I've published that using flash and uploaded it to the website directory without a problem. Now I was planning to use animated flash icons to act as a transport to getting from this website and to a forum (Ie. A link). The problem is that whenever I 'click and drag' this icon from the flash library to the background I recieve the error:
''The class or interface 'MouseEvent' could not be loaded.
function onOut(event:MouseEvent):void {''
This comes two times under two different lines of code. After I get the two compiler errors, the icon appears on the background but has lost all of the flash animations which mainly consist of ''Mouse hover over'' and ''Mouse hover out''. To test I'm doing this correctly I created a new flash file on a blank white page, did exactly the same 'click and drag' action and everything worked.
P.S. This is the code for the icon which includes all the animations needed but somehow disappears during the 'click and drag' action:

Yep, it's set to ActionScript 3.0. I've tried many possible ways to add the icon onto the background but the animation disappears everytime.

If you had a personal computer and had problems with Flash Player then of course this Forum would be where it would be addressed.
Flash Player is used with all of the Adobe programs and when those programs are involved, then those Forums relate to Flash Player from those perspectives. Flash Player is not a standalone, that would be the Projector. Neither is Flash Player unrelated to the Adobe programs you use.
These terms: fast switching the slides, the player crashes in cases, when a progressive videostream is canceled, Tweener, the gui for the volume control before the gui is initialized, so the player try to access a null reference. It is for me impossible to develope content
told me clearly that your issue involves much more than Flash Player, debug or not.
If you can see the animation at this site and the correct version of Flash Player is displayed, then Flash Player is Installed correctly and should be working. If not, then since I'm not versed in the programs you are using and possible conflicts, I would not be the one to assist you. So your choice is to wait here on this Forum for someone that can, or take my advice and start a thread on one of the other applicable Forums.
Also you have a Mac. We have more threads that the Mac users put up than Mac helpers:-)

Best way to split/merge Flash video programatically

I have the following problem and I was wondering if anyone had a product that they could recommend. Also, if this post is better suited for another forum please let me know. Thanks.
I have several large .flv movies that contain multiple words. The starting and ending positions of the words are known from timing marks in the .flv file. I need to be able to split the .flv files at the specific timing marks and then merge the pieces together to form new .flv movies. I need to be able to do this programmatically through an SDK or something similar.

Merge Flash Player Skin with Flash Video for Single Flash File
My company uses a content management system for it's website and I am the administrator. The CMS does not require or use html code. I am a new to Flash, but I am able to produce some simple files. I have compiled a simple 2 minute video clip that I need to upload to my companies website. The Flash file requires a player skin which I was able to produce. I understand that when you output to Flash, two files are created. As I understand it, one file is for the skin and the other is for the movie along with the html code that links the two. Unfortunately, our content management system does not recognize the link between these two sets of files and I am unable to import them. I can import the flash movie clip without the player, but that does not suit my needs. I can import the player skin without the movie, but there would be no point. Is there a way to output both files into a single Flash file with the player skin embedded into the Flash movie? I have the full Adobe Master Suite CS4, is it possible another program could be used for that purpose or is this an impossibility? Any information you could provide would be appreciated...thanks...

Merging Flash with Animation Presets
Hi there,
I just downloaded After Effects, and though it seems pretty
powerfull, in my opinion is not flexible when it comes to animating
objects within the Timeline like Flash. I would love for Flash 8
Professional, to have all those animating presets within it. What
do you think? I mean, yes we all those powerfull special effects
within After Effects, but I feel that for animation purposes is
lacking......I think Adobe would really do something special, if
those special effects could somehow be built into
Flash.........What are your opinions regarding this?

features that makes Flash designers use After Effect is the
powerful preset and effects in the great product. You can get it to
your Flash as video, bitmap sequance or even SWF file if you choose
a feature that can be exproted as SWF.
I have staarted learning animation with Flash too, so i may
agree with you regarding the easy use of Flash timeline. But after
i worked with After Effects, I relized that its timeline is easy
too, may be it includes more features than the Flash timeline,
because of the nature of the output of AE.
you have to learn how to deal with the AE timeline with the
AE concept not the Flash concept to not feel strange to it. -

There are 8 different flash files and all these flash files are being merged to a single PPT and this merged PPT is being sent for Users. As this involves repeated tasks, now there is a requirement to merge all these files to single dashboard. Each dashboard is having Panel Containers and there are many charts, tickers etc.
1. Is this possible to merge all these 8 different dashboard? How Can I merge? I assume the performance will be affected as there will be multiple connections. Any tips to have same performance after merging (as LO connections will be more tah 8)
2. I am thinking of using Next/Previous button options to link various dashboards, if first one fails. Which button to use to give link to another dashboard.

It is very well possible to merge 8 separate dashboards into a single dashboard. Rather I would suggest you to call those dashboards into your main one (with the help on Image component or SWF loader with some workaround ). use a play control to give ti a dynamic display or use a next and previous button to navigate. Only problem with this approach is that every time you change it to next it will reload again (this might be annoying). To avoid this you can load all of the dashboards to separate image components an show or hide dip-pending on the value of the play-control or the button used for transition. Benefit is that it wont load again and again rather it will load all the dashboards at once, so initially it will take some time. See which one is the best possible solution for you.
As you said you can use buttons to dynamical display and hide the components or use the standard play control for the same.

Merging live footage with a flash interface

I need to take a live webcam stream from a local computer and feed that into a flash app as a background of an interface I build in flash. eg: the webcam stream is of a room with various static objects in it, I want to create buttons over those objects that play a audio clip when they are clicked. The video and interface needs to be full screen which is why I think it needs to be output as a self contained app (or does it?). Is this possible in Flash or is there another option I can look at.

I've done that several times with kiosks. I put cameras on the opposite side of the screen so you can (lacking parralax) 'see through' the screen by displaying what's behind the screen, on the screen, from a webcam.
If you want to read a webcam from an alternate network, that's entirely different. More software will be needed (flash media server, openbroadcaster, xsplit, etc) and proper configuration of a firewall and server are necessary along with policy files. -

You move your images to the close point where you want the flash of light...export that frame...go into photoshop and add the lens flare effect so it's right between the two "pics" and very bright etc...
Then you import that psd file and put it in the video layer above your two pic thing...and using opacity and adjusting duration of the still you added with effect, blend it with the "continuation" of your two pics coming together.. ???

Merge to HDR Pro does not work on Nikon D800 RAW (NEF) files
Hi,
I can't get Merge to HDR Pro to work on NEF RAW files from my Nikon D800 - nothing happens after after confirming the file selection. However, it works ok if I convert those files to DNG (using Lightroom 4), and if I use the D800's JPGs, and if I use Nikon D7000 NEFs. It just seems to be a problem with Nikon D800 NEFs.
Steps taken:
1. File -> Automate -> Merge to HDR Pro
2. Browse... and select NEF files (even selecting 2 files does not work).
3. Attempt to Automatically Align Source Images is checked. Then press OK.
Expected result:
Progress cursor spins as files are loaded and HDR dialog appears.
Actual result:
Nothing happens - no progress cursor or CPU or disk activity - it is as if I had clicked cancel instead of ok.
This is a clean install of the 64 bit CS6 beta on Windows 7 64 bit, with no plugins, and I reset preferences (Ctrl+Alt+Shift on startup). I do have my existing CS5 Extended still installed, as well as Lightroom 3.6 and 4.0.
I can send you the NEFs if you like.

The Ps CS6 public beta version contains the same camera support as found in Ps CS5/5.5 compatible CR 6.6. There will be future updates to CR 7 for Ps CS6 to pick up more camera support. The Nikon D800 NEF files are not supported, yet.
If you like to work with your D800 files in the public beta build now, you'll have to get the DNG Converter 6.7 from here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw6-7/
and convert your files to DNG.

Flash builder 4.7 not treating External linkage correctly
Hi,
I am refactoring the project I am working to external link assets(flash assets), so I can load them on runtime.
This works in Flash builder 4.6 and you can observe a smaller .swf than if they are merged into code.
In FB 4.7 However it seems to ignore external linkage resulting in same size .swf as merged into code setting and I can run it fine without loading any external swf.
This seems to be yet another bug in FB 4.7 or its compiler, unless I am missing something.
Ps.
I am building the project with -frame parameter which seems to be the way to use a preloader with the new compiler:

The preloader is on frame 1, splash screens on frame 2 and 3 and rest of the project on frame 4.
Is this a known bug by any chance & or are there any ways around it.

If you adjust the linkage on the directory ./export/normal/swc to external, on the web project it makes absolutely no difference. While in FB 4.6 or using ant build it is smaller and requires a swf to be loaded at runtime.
That being said, I am now in the process of seeing if the method we are trying to use will actually work, since the iOS packager refuses to make a release build if it cannot find the class definitions at compile time.
The idea is basically that the compiler uses external linkage to flash assets, and then depending if the device is retina or not it loads the appropriate swf. -
USB flash disk is not mounting, Xfce doesn't remember the setting

I'm new in Archlinux and I think I can't set up it well. I use Linux for four years /Ubuntu, Debian/.
Now I have installed system with X server, Slim and Xfce.
1/ I have one big problem. I want to automount my flashdisk but it doesn't work like in Debian. I don't know what is wrong. When I put my flashdisk to USB, it's blinkig but nothing else happened. But I see the flashdisk in lsusb

Setup .../mnt/md in /mnt with ..cd /mnt...mkdir /mnt/md
This will mount the flash drive.
I do not know automount for xfce4.
