Merging GoogleDocs PDF with company stationary PDF

As we are now working "in the Cloud" with Adobe and Google we are trying to figure out a solution to get our documents from Google Docs to a PDF with our company stationary look included. As Google Docs doesn't offer a solution we simply save the document to a PDF and merge it in Adobe Acrobat X with our company stationary artwork. Unfortunately it doesn't work, probably because Google Docs creates PDF with a transparant layer. Does Adobe provide printer plugins voor Google Cloud Printing through which we would be able to print PDF files with a transparant layer.

You can use Acrobat to create/ edit the layers in the pdf.

Hi there,
I need to render a PDF and allow the user to select text on the PDF.
As I see, Windows.Data.Pdf does not support more than returning an image.
Even so, how can I achieve my goal? The Windows 8 app "Reader" has this capability but I don't understand how it works.
BTW: I have tested other renderers but they have rendering issues with some complex PDF content (complex: RTL).

Unfortunately, the built-in PDF feature has not provided select text on the PDF. You can send your request on UserVoice to ask public that API.

PDF with forms to PDF without those forms? Some kind render or publish script?

Hello to everyone!
I have the following problem with Acrobat Pro 9:
I did fillable form that works well in PDF. I would like to make the button which would save a new version of the file where it is no longer the possibility of filling the forms. So I want "Render" that form PDF to basic PDF where is no any user interactive forms available. I want to get rid of those forms after and get only those filled data, so user get nice simple PDF with user own filled texts...
Is this even possible or do I seek a solution in vain? Is it possible with Acrobat Pro 9?
I've tried to find a script but didn't find any solution for this yet. If someone could help a little so I would be grateful. Is there any script for this kind solution?

Encrypting PDF with password. PDF command failed due to PDFlib error: Bad parameter.

I'm trying to encrypt a PDF with a password and receive this error.
~ERROR~com.adobe.document.PDFManipulation~: PDF command failed due to PDFlib error: Bad parameter.
It does not throw an exception, it just logs this error.
Anybody know how to fix this?

I was also getting this error, when trying to set usage rights on a document and then encrypt it with a password. I found a solution which works (more like a workaround, as this feels like a bug):
1. Open the unprotected file
2. Call pdfDocument.encryptWithPassword()
3. Call pdfDocument.save(), write resulting bytes to temp file
4. Reopen this file with pdfFactory.openPdfWithPassword()
5. Now you can call pdfDocument.setUsageRights() and pdfDocument.save()

Need to know how to merge interactive form with text page pdf

I have an interactive pdf form, I need to merge this with another pdf page which is not a form. Kindly advice how I can do so using Adobe livecycle or acrobat pro X.

Hi Pooja,
How is your Interactive PDF form is created(LC Designer or Acrobat X). If you used LC Designer then you cannot merge the page, the only option is to create a new page in designer and copy and paste the content.
If you used acrobat to create the Form then you easily merge the PDFs using combine feature in Acrobat.( File> Create> Combine files)

How do I print to "Adobe PDF" with an encrypted pdf?

I've created a form in livecycle and I want the security to be set up as such:
1) A password is required to edit the form in LiveCycle AND
2) People can print the pdf to "Adobe PDF"
I've been able to create livecycle password access, but when I put a password on the LiveCycle Access (currently: Printing Allowed: High resolution, Changes Allowed: Filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields), I get this error when I try to print it to PDF:

How can I edit my form so I can do both.

It´s quite some time I was solving this.. but as I already wrote and I can somehow remember(as far I´m not working on this platform for 3 years): printing 150dpi is one thing - it´s printing like a simple pic. Printing in hi-res works in completely different way - pdf must be redistilled with pdf distiller or how it was called. Means, there must be additional step before printing the pdf form. Cant remember the details.

Importing PDF pages
Using the Place command, you can specify which pages you want to import from a multipage PDF: You can place a single page, a range of pages, or all pages. Multipage PDF files let designers combine illustrations for a publication into a single file.
The page range options appear when you select Show Import Options in the Place dialog box. The dialog box includes a preview, so you can view a thumbnail of the pages before you place them. As you place each page, InDesign reloads the graphics icon with the next page, letting you place the pages one after the next.

Open a PDF with Adobe's PDF Reader

Hi all,
I have a Nokia Lumia 720, and placed a PDF file on to the SD card in a folder called DOCUMENTS.
After downloading Adobe PDF Reader and installing the app, when I open the app, it says NO FILES AVAILABLE.
Where do I need to place the PDF file for it to be found?
Any ideas?

Ray (rayhipkiss) thanks for the advice. And to scoobyman, who had the solution.
After copying the file from my (Win7) PC to the phone (and I tried copying it to the SD card) using the USB cable, it would not show up at all, even in Office.
Scoobyman suggested that I place the file into my SkyDrive folder. That did it, and it does now appear when I open the Adobe PDF Reader, BUT, it still doesn't show up in the phone when I browse the Phone & SD Card.
When I opened the file, it had to download it from SkyDrive first, and then it opened.
Not a very neat way of doing things, but I am getting the hang of this Lumia 720 after 4 weeks now.
Some of it is logical, but other things are not too clear!

Cannot generate PDF with RH10

I have searched the forum and Peter Grainge's site and not found a solution to this problem that worked.
I have a new installation of RH10 on Windows 7 sp1. It was installed as a trial and then licensed. I do not have the complete Adobe Acrobat -- only the add-on that was installed with RH.
I used RoboHelp HTML to create a simple webhelp project and attempted to generate a PDF from it with the single source layout for Printed Documentation. The following error occurred:

RoboHelp can successfully create a PDF of a single topic. It can create a PDF with Review > Create PDF for Review. It can successfully create a doc from this project, and Word is able to save that doc as a pdf.
RH can open the projects that it created but cannot open the sample projects. The sample directories are read-only and I cannot reset them. I do not know why.
I uninstalled RH and reinstalled it. The problem is still occurring.
I am baffled. I am an inexperienced RH user so the problem might be a simple one. I would be grateful for any advice.

I was also facing this issue and got the same error. After much trial and error I found the following solution. So sharing that here. ( I am not sure whether this works for all the use cases. But in my case it worked. I am using Windows 7, RH11, and MS Office 2010.)
Open any Office application. (I opened Word)
Open File > Options > Add-Ins. (You will be able to manage your add-ins from this tab. When I browsed through the list I found the "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM" Addin was with the list of "Disabled Application Add-Ins")
Select "Disabled items" from the Manage list. (This list is available at the bottom of the Add-Ins tab)
Click Go. The Disable Items window is displayed.
Select "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" from the list.
Click Enable.
Click Close. The "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" is moved to the list of "Active Application Addins".
Close MS word.
Now when you generate the Printed Documentation output from RH11, the error mentioned in the query is not appearing and a PDF output is generated.

XFA forms are not regular PDF's but XML files in a PDF shell.
To create a word file from those files, you first have to flatten the XFA forms by printing as PDF with the Adobe PDF Printer.
Then you can save using ExportPDF the created static PDF as Word document.

You should ensure that 1b is meant. I suppose it is a typo.
If your client requires a CMYK, then 1a would be the correct version.
You could ask for a joboption file. You can install it, open Acrobat Distiller and drag and drop the joboption file into the open Distiller window. This will install this joboptions for all programs with PDF export like InDesign too.

Indesign transparency multiply pdf/x-1a pdf/x-4 export pdf object not visible

I've created a simple Indesign cs4 document under osx demonstrating the problem. I've copied from an Indesign document a rectangle with a fill color 100% cyan and a transparency effect multiply and paste the object within a new created document. I've paste the same rectangle again and switched off the transparency effect. Then I've create a new rectangle again with the same fill color and multiply transparency effect.
When I create a pdf with the standard pdf/x-4 settings the copied rectangle with the multiply transparency effect has disappeared, while the other 2 rectangles are visible. Creating a pdf with the standard pdf/x-1 settings in Indesign, then all 3 rectangles are visible.
I've created a zip file named Indesign.zip with the following 3 elements:
- multiply.indd - indesign document
- pdfx1.pdf - export pdf with pdf/x1 settings (3 rectangles are visible)
- pdfx4.pdf - export pdf with pdf/x4 settings (only 2 rectangles are visible)
Opening the document with CS5 and creating pdf files, we obtain the same strange result.

If there is no solution finding corrupt objects before going to production (creating pdf files), then the problem is only detected when the job is printed! More important, if the corrupt object is located in an advertisement, then you customer wouldn't pay.
To further investigate the problem I've create 2 snippets with the following names:
- Snippet_Good_PDFx4_Result.idms (snippet of the object who's visible after conversion to pdf/x-4)
- Snippet_Wrong_PDFx4_Result.idms (snippet of the object who's not visible after conversion to pdf/x-4)

The bad one has very strange coordinate values, such as 35298.673065771356 which is about 12452 mm! When placing the bad snippet in a new Indesign document the result is ok, just after converting to pdfx/4 the object isn't visible anymore!
Who can justify this strange behaviour?

How to ... Generate PDF from BexWAD Application with company Logo in header

Hi all profis,
I read many theories (on-line help, sdn forum, google) about creating a PDF document with pictures, logos, texts and so on, but in each of them is some "...but, limitations, only if ..."
The easiest way, I guess is to create a BexWAD Application with item "REPORT" and "ANALYSIS ITEM".
In REPORT - a crystal report page, is saved company logo with text
ANALYSIS item includes data
Via Export (into PDF) those both items has to be exported. The only topic is, how to repeat the report item on each page of a PDF document? There is a possibility to repeat column names, but not a company logos as a header.
I will ask in general -> Does someone has a solution, how to export data from SAP BI into PDF including Logo and Text(Company Adress) in header (which will repeat on each page) ??

I have another idea to create a PDF file with company logo and hierarchical structure of data.
Via Report designer, it is not possible to display data in hierarchical structure, but it is possible to add logo (picture) into header.
Via WADWeb Application designer, it is possible to display data with a hierarchy, but a logo is not shown on each page.
Via InformationBroadcaster, there is a possibility to add into header a free text. There is an option <PR_ONLINE_LINK> . Can I create another element (new, own one), which will contain a picture? How can I edit this element <PR_ONLINE_LINK> ? Would it be possible to add there a picture?

Created a word doc with links to pdfs, is Adobe XI standard enough to merge as one pdf document

I am looking to create one flowing document, without the need to send customers lots of attachments. I have a word document which has links to several other document types, usually pdf sometimes these have minimal volume other times these can be large in volume. Currently I have to send all the documents as a folder, but I would like to send one tidy document, so if I convert to a pdf with Adobe XI standard will my linked documents be automatically inserted creating one document (I have not purchased yet, researching first)?

with your file, neither in Acrobat Standard nor in Acrobat Pro. You can do
it, but you'll need to do it manually by converting all the files to PDFs,
merging them and then adding the links between them.
