Merging "pages" and "numbers" to make a presentation in PDF "Preview"

I am trying to put together a presentation in PDF form, that I can email out
In numbers and pages , I can print them to PDF, and it looks great, but how do you merge the two into one PDF ??

I think you are right. However, you cannot drag floating tables from Pages either - only the ones that are embedded in the text.

Mail merge in PAGES and NUMBERS has GONE!

A while ago I painstakingly moved data and documents from Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac to Numbers and from Word to Pages. I have been using Numbers for data lists and Pages for Mailmerge documents successfully since 2011.
With the latest "update" to Pages and Numbers, I thought I would see improved software and performance. What I got was a downgrade in functionality.
* Pages no longer supports mail merge
** Pages documents with mail merge fields are corrupted on opening them with the new version - SAVE THE ORIGINAL FIRST !
* Numbers documents can no longer be used with the previous version of Pages to perform a mail merge - the headers are not being recognised!
WORK AROUND
Don't use the new Pages or Numbers.
Keep your old Pages and Numbers documents in a safe folder.
Use the prior versions of Pages and Numbers for mail merging (HOPEFULLY APPLE READS THIS AND PUTS MAIL MERGE BACK IN THE NEXT FIX)
It is possible to maintain Numbers documents using the new version. This however necessitates saving your modified Numbers document in the old format (Save As...) before using it with the prior Pages version.
@APPLE: PLEASE RECOGNISE THIS MAJOR PLANNING ERROR ON YOUR PART AND GIVE US THE FUNCTIONALITY BACK ASAP !!!

On Pages 09 I have a document that draws variable data from a spreadsheet created in Numbers.
With the new Pages and Numbers program update, my links are lost and I am unable to see how to correct this.

I dont think they want me to be a loyal customer anymore.
They changed Final Cut Pro, so now I use Premier Pro
Aperture 3 has been left behind so now I moved to Lightroom 4.
And now Pages 5 does not have a vital component, so back to Word.

I am having an issue where whenever I am at the document list and do edit, to copy or delete a document the iPad locks up. Happens for both pages and numbers. Also happens on my iPhone, but only once in a while. Help.

I went to the apple store and they did a reset, I got all my apps back Except Pages and Numbers..how do I get them back..without paying...of course.

I went to the apple store and they did a reset on my iPad...I was able to restore all my apps Except Pages and Numbers...those don't appear on my purchased apps at the App Store...how do I restore them...without paying for them again..of course.

If you go into iTunes and sign in and then try to download them again it will let you redownload them. Just make sure you're signed in with the apple ID you used to buy them in the first place.

I have nearly 6000 .cwk documents - some word and some spreadsheet. How can I mass convert these to pages and numbers?

Have been using Mac from early on. My present MacBook Pro has 3 previous computers and information installed on it.
The question is, I have been using Appleworks/Clarisworks for years for my business. Would like to save that history before moving to Lion. I know you can convert the files individually from .cwk file to pages, but I have nearly 6,000 files to convert.
Is there some way to convert them to pages and numbers or .doc files in mass?

HT4972 Why Pages and numbers are not updating.

My pages and numbers are not updating for about a week now Why?

Some one else had a similar problem last night...same as yours. He claimed that Pages had been stuck trying to update for about week. I posted this and he said that it worked - which part he did not say - but give these things a try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to resume the download.
If you have all of your Pages files backed up in iTunes or on your Mac, this might be the answer. Try deleting the waiting icon - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
I have deleted Pages a couple of times when I had issues with it and then reinstalled it. I even deleted a stalled Pages once and then tried the update successfully again after that. My files are always backed up in iTunes and on my Mac so I had no apprehension about deleting the waiting download.

You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your iCloud ID for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

The following troubleshooting steps can help get your documents to reappear on your devices.
Documents I've updated on my Mac or uploaded from iCloud.com don't appear on my iOS device
If you're using an iWork for iOS app (Pages, Numbers, or Keynote), check the iCloud system requirements and make sure that you're using the latest version of iWork. For third party apps, check the documentation that came with the app, or check with the app developer to make sure the app supports iCloud. App Store application descriptions often indicate whether the app supports iCloud.
Go to Apple () menu > System Preferences on your Mac. Click iCloud and confirm that you're signed in to iCloud and the Documents & Data checkbox is selected.
After opening your iOS app, wait a few minutes for the documents to appear. Your iOS device may not have connected to iCloud since changes were made to the document at iCloud.com or on your other devices.
Try creating a new document on your iOS device, then check again for the documents from iCloud to appear.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data and confirm that Use Cellular Data is turned on.
Confirm that you're connected to the Internet by checking for an Edge, 3G, 4G, LTE, or Wi-Fi icon in your device's status bar. Test your connection by opening apple.com in Safari.
Try resetting iCloud Documents & Data service.

I don't use iLife and don't want to; my clients are using Office and it's easier for me, except when I have to copy and paste everything they send me from an iLife file back to Word and Excel. Help!!! It's like Apple has become Microsoft, forcing us to use their apps.

Do you have Word & Excel installed, if yes, navigate in the finder to an example of each, right click and select 'Get Info' scroll down to 'Open With' and select the appropriate program, check the box that says 'Change All'

i can see and manage documents in iCloud. i can create them on iPad and see them and delete them in iCloud.
But not on iMac.

There is a way to do that in both Pages and Numbers in Snow Leopard; I don;t have Lion available to see if that was carried forward to it.
In SL, with the document open click the Inspector button in the toolbar for the document. In the Inspector window, click the leftmost icon in its toolbar ("document inspector" in the popup tooltip), If a Pages document, also then click the Document button below that icon.
Then, at the bottom of the window look for an item "Require password to open" - checkmark that, and you'll be prompted to set a password.

However, when I open old documents saved on my computer, they go into the 'old' iWork messages of that my trial has expired. How do I get the computer to automatically recognize that I've purchased Pages and Numbers?

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

the free apps are only for ios device (iphone ipad ipod touch) and do not work on mac computers. if you do get pages and numbers on your mac though you can sync the information using icloud
