Merging separate lines into solid shape?

These are two separate lines and I want to turn the wing into one object so I can add a gradient to the inside of the shape. Here's a screen shot of the selected lines. Pathfinder can't do it and Joining paths cuts out the bottom part of the inner lines. Any ideas?

Select all parts. Grab the Live Paint Tool, double click.. then start filling with color.

Can't merge separate PDFs into a single PDF

I receive the following when attempting to merge separate pdf files into a single pdf file in Acrobat 8.1.2 using OS 10.5.4 on my iMac:
At least one file in the list requires a password. The combined file will not be secured. Do you want to continue?
I then get a message that a file in my list is protected, and Im prompted to enter a permissions password. I dont know what that is (the only password I have associated with Adobe doesnt work) or where to locate it.
This problem has just cropped up recently, and currently I must send a list of PDFs instead of a single file.

If the pdf is password protected, there any utilities available to
remove the password protection. Which explains why password protection
is not to be relied upon. If the protection is certificate based or
server based, then removing the security is a non-trivial matter.

Merging multiple lines into only one separeted by \n

Hello,
I have a query that returns some lines as result, instead of return lines, I want to return just one line separated by \n...
For example:
select 'name 1' as name from dual
union
select 'name 2' as name from dual
union
select 'name 3' as name from dual
The query above returns:
name1
name2
name3
What I need is:
name1\nname2\nname3
How could I solve this?

PDF does not contain columns, rows, formats, styles, or other aspects of word processing or spreadsheet file formats.
This is because PDF is decidedly not a word processing or spreadsheet file format or something "like" one of those.
(see ISO 32000 for what PDF "is")
What can optimize the export of PDF page content is to start with a well-formed tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Without that export is what it is and one performs whatever content cleanup is needed using the native application for the export file (MS Word or Excel).

How do I turn a dashed line into separate paths?.

I have made a dashed line by turning the path into a dashed line using the stroke panel. I now want to separate the dashed line into separate paths. But when I expand the line it asks to expand the fill and stroke. I don't want an outline and fill, I just want paths. Can anyone throw some light on this please.

iCloud is a separate service from iTunes, creating an iCloud account will not resolve your iTunes issues. You may be interested in iTunes Match.

Can Logic explode a score into separate lines?

I know that score programs like finale have a feature where you can 'explode' a polyphonic track into separate lines. Can Logic's score editor do anything like this. I found explode polyphony under view but it does not do anything like this or so it would seem.

Two things are necessary for explode polyphony to work:
• you have to have a polyphonic staff style selected (i.e., one that's set up to display multiple MIDI channels such as Piano 1+2/3)
• the notes within the region have to be assigned to the MIDI channels associated with each staff within the style
For example...
Let's say you recorded a 3-voice horn part, something nice and simple like a sequence of block chords. First thing to do would be to assign one of the preset polyphonic staff styles to that region (such as Piano 1+2/3) or, create your own style that accommodates 3 MIDI channels (top line = 1, middle line = 2, bottom =3). At this point, even if you enabled explode polyphony, you'd see all of the voices appear on one staff. The next step then would be to assign the notes to the appropriate MIDI channel for the staff you want them to appear on. Per my example of playing in block chords, you could use *Functions > Note Events > Voices to Channels* to automatically assign the voices. You could also use the voice separation tool, or manually change the MIDI channels of the various notes using key commands for Event Channel +1/-1.

Pen line merge seperate lines

I've made a celtic circular pattern thing with the pen tool and would like to use live paint to get the over and under thing going on but because I used one continuous line I didn't realise until after words all of the cross over points have merged into crosses rather than register as separate lines overlapping. Is there an option box I can tick to convert the line to overlap it's self and NOT merge ?

Indesign CS2 Q: Remove or make transparent - lines from stacked shapes logo?

I'm making a logo that is basically a repitition of simple shape stacked on top of each other. With line thickness [in 'paper' colour] I can control the appearance of space between my objects, provided my background is the same colour as the lines. If I wish to place this over an image, I can not remove the lines without destroying the whole effect. The logo's 'altered' shapes aren't altered, only hidden by others to appear 'altered.'
Is there a way to make these lines clear?
I see I can bring the stack through illustrator into pshop, and remove a selected colour, then save png and I have no lines between my shapes. The issue seems to be a loss of quality on the spae's edges with this solution.
There must be a better way than what I know of....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

seeinghuman: Use the Direct Selection tool in Illustrator. Select just the orange parts and move them away from the white strokes. Then delete the white strokes. Alternatively, you could just select the white strokes and delete them.
You could select the orange parts, copy and paste them back into InDesign, but I'd recommend doing logos in Illustrator and keeping them as an .ai file that you place as needed into your InDesign document. I would avoid Photoshop for logos as Illustrator is much better suited for this task.

Can I run two DSL lines into my airport network?

I have a 1.5M line from Qwest and can not get faster speed from anyoe else in my semi-rural community. Can I run two 1.5 DSL lines into one or two airport extremes and get the equivalent of a 3.0 line?

If I have two DSL lines each connected to its own Actiontec modem with each modem connected via ethernet to its own airport extreme then it sounds like I need to have two wireless networks to take advantage of the second DSL connection. Correct? We have a lot of computers being used in the household so could put the kids on their own network.
Apparently the airport extreme can not manage a network with two internet connections even if they are connected via separate airport extremes? I have worked at companies that have done this for internet connection redundancy purposes so there must be devices that can handle this.

Display multiple choice column selections on a separate line in the body of email

This question could have been answered elsewhere and I just don't realize it. I have a SharePoint Foundation 2010 form (11 columns) that has one choice column allowing the user to select multiple options (checkboxes). The selections have been typed into "type each choice on a separate line". Moving to Designer we have created a workflow that sends an email when the user submits to form.
If Current Item: Select shift equals DAY request Email ................
The body of the email has this field:
Information Being Requested: [%Current Item: The following information is being requested%].
When the user gets the email the output for this field is string on a single line separated by a comma. What I need is each of the selections to be on a separate line so the users can easily read what is being requested and not miss any of the selection. I'm stuck. I'm not worried about text wrapping. I've been searching for hours but either it's not what a need, it's over my head, or I just don't know where to make the changes. I don't use VS but I do know html and I'm fairly comfortable in Designer. I would appreciate any help.

Firstly, can you edit your post and take the question out of the code / quote box. It'll make it easier to read.
Secondly the options depend on the version of SharePoint. Are we to assume you're using SharePoint 2003 or 2007 as you've posted into the legacy forums?

Exporting remarks on separate lines

The customer has lines of remarks in their item master data records. They wish to export these
reports into Excel using a query.
When they do, the remarks appear as one long line instead of separate lines. Is there a way of
exporting this information to any type of format (e.g excel, word, notepad) so that the remarks show
with carriage returns so the text is on separate lines?

The answer probably depends on what you want to do with the data once it reaches Excel.
I think that it would be difficult to do with SQL Query & export to Excel because I am not aware of any features in SQL to chop block text into lines of a particular size, but what about just wrapping the column in Excel once it's there?
If you really need it as separate rows in Excel, then I think that you would need to go via some other product which would do the line splitting for you. The Crystal viewer which we use in Business One allows export to Excel, and Crystal will handle the line splitting.

Keep options: Select the paragraph, then CtrlAltK (Mac: CmdOptK, I
think).
If you want the paragraphs in pairs, create two paragraph styles. Style
A has keep options set to start on a new page, and also, its Next Style
is style B.
Style B has no keep options, but it's Next Style is Style A.
Select all the text.
From the flyout menu of the paragraph styles palette, apply Style A
"then next style."
Now all paragraphs will be alternating -- style A, style B, style A, etc.
Now do what I wrote initially, and you'll have pairs of paragraph in
separate text frames.

Nested tables as separate lines in output

I'm working with Adobe forms using transaction SFP from the ABAP Workbench. I'm trying to construct a prototype of an SD invoice, with one internal table having the basic item data, and then a secondary table with further information, such as discounts, taxes, etc. The item number is part of both tables so that they can be related to each other. Using right-click and Create in the context I constructed a loop on the main table, and then under that a loop on the secondary table, with the equal item number as a condition. It all works, but in the output the secondary data comes out on the same line as the main item data, and when I try to drag it down to the next line in the layout, it changes its position in the data view also, so that it's outside the loop and prints only once, over the second main item line. Surely for an invoice or a purchase order it's normal to have one basic item line, and then one or more other lines with various other information for each item. It's very easy in both SAPscript and Smart Forms to have a loop within a loop displaying separate lines, but so far I haven't been able to get it to work with Adobe.

Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet not working

HELP! I created the form files in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, saved as Reader Extended PDF, have a submit button that emails me, and I download them to a folder on my desktop. When I try to "Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet" all I get back is the file name. I've tried with 10 files and only one file and it STILL won't work so it is not that the fields don't line up.
What do I do now?
