Merging Toolarea in Masthead, showing exception

Question

Hello All,
I am using portal 7 sp9.
I am trying to merge the toolarea within the masthead. I referred the pdf available at sdn named "How to Merge the Masthead & Toolarea" by Sudeep Majumder.
Problem:- I followed the steps mentioned in the pdf but ends up with the exception.
Exception:-
Portal Runtime Error
*An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : com.kcptech.portal.navigation.masthead.lightHeader
Component Name : com.kcptech.portal.navigation.masthead.lightHeader*
Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component.
Exception id: 03:14_17/04/09_0026_403601950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file*
What I understand from the error is that there is some problem related to the components created. Please suggest.

Hello Ram,
I had already added the jar file named : com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea_core.jar
to the destination folder path: dist\PORTAL-INF\private\lib
I tried with the original par file project after adding the jar file to it, it worked fine.
Problem: I tried to run the lightheader component which is throwing the exception. When I run default component, it does run without any error but shows no modifications, except the original customized masthead which i am already using.
FYI: I am already using a customized masthead. Does it makes any effect? I am using the same par file to make the new modifications.
Modifications I made: While using the pdf I mentioned above, it says that create the list of sub components under the lightheader component in the toolarea project. But, there is no component with the name lightheader to create the component lists mentioned. So, I created the components in my masthead project. Is that correct?
Please suggest.
