Merging two calendar databases

We have two separate instances of iPlanet Calendar Server (5.0p4) running on two separate SUN boxes and we're thinking of combining the two databases into one so we need only one instance-is this feasible?

You can start by using your backup of the MBP right now...you do have a backup, yes?
Please tell more: are these completely separate libraries/images, partly, or almost fully synched?

  • IPhone Calendar - merging two calendars and connecting with Google

I've spent all morning trying to sync my iPhone Calendar with Google Calendar. I've synced it with CalDav but in the process it seems to have created a new calendar on the iPhone and hasn't synced any of my original iPhone calendar entries onto Google. Can I merge the two calendars on iPhone?
Also I'm not sure how the two calendars communicate with each other. Do they just sync when I connect my phone to my computer or can I make them communicate whilst not connected? I'd rather they didn't connect permanently as I understand this drains the battery.

If you are having trouble syncing your iPhone 5s with Google calendars, here is a solution that worked for me. I do not use gmail, so following Googles instructions did not work.
Tap Settings on the Home Screen.
    Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account.
    Choose Other.
Tap Add CalDAV Account under Calendars.
Type "https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user" (substitute your email, and without the quotation marks).
For user name, enter the email address that you use to sign in to Google.
    Enter your Google Calendar Password.
Enter "Google Calendar" in the description field.
    Tap Next at the top.

  • Merging Two OLAP databases

    Hi ,
I have 2 databases "BI datawarhouse" and "BI datawarehouse Dev" that are the same (same Cubes and roles and ...)but every one of them has some additions. Is there any way to compare them in order to merge them in single database
    instead of 2 ?
    Thanks

    Hello again, Jorje,
Given the fact that this is a random Tuesday morning, I forgot about the Synchronization Database Wizard that resides at the SSAS level (I presume that you are using Analysis Services). :)
To quote from the description of this wizard:
The Synchronize Database Wizard makes two Analysis Services databases equivalent by copying the data and metadata a database on
a source server to a database on a destination server. While the wizard synchronizes the data between the two databases, users can continue to query the destination database. After synchronization finishes, Analysis Services automatically switches the users
to the newly copied data and metadata, and drops the old data from the destination database.
Beside the syncing the data, this wizard also allows you to sync the roles between the two databases as you can see in the following image
You can have a short read about this wizard and how to use it by clicking on this
link. Although the page is for SQL Server 2012, there is an equivalent article for 2008 (R2) and 2005.
In conclusion, while the first method from the post is not obsolete, the second one is more elegant :).
To give you also a quick scenario to see if everything is working fine (and not affect something in case anything goes wrong):
    - have Database A and Database B which need to be synced. Create an empty SSAS database, called
    Database C, for example.
    - create a backup of Database A and restore it over Database C with the overwrite option
    - sync Database B with Database C
    - perform checks to ensure that data in A and B are found in C.
    Best regards,
    Razvan

  • Merge two calendars onto one BlackBerry

I am trying to have the calendar on my BlackBerry 8830 merge the Outlook calendars from my work and home computers.
I want all three calendars to show the same information.
I have tried both two-way and one-way synchronization but no luck.
Any ideas on how to do this?

Have you considered using a third calendar as the intermediary?
What I've done in the past was to use Google's or Yahoo's calendar to store both.
    For example:
From work, I'd sync Google with my work calendar
From home, I'd sync Google with my home calendar
This way, when you sync with Google from home, it has all your work stuff, and vice versa.
Does your phone/PDA have a calendar sync program?

  • Can I merge two calendars on the same Palm?

    1) I recently got a Palm z22 but somehow have it synched with a different user name than what my earlier calendar was.  Is there any way I can merge my old calendar with my new one? I have Mac OS 10.4.11 and a laptop with Leopard  (I didn't notice the difference right away.)
    2) I read an earlier post about synching to two different machines.  Why are there diametrically opposite answers?
    Thank you very much!
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

I want to do the same thing BUT WITH MORE APPLICATIONS. ADDRESS, MEMO,...
File>Import causes doubles of too many entries. Is there a way to use MERGE on just one aspect of the data? Merge of the ENTIRE User Data file causes 600 out of 10,000 items to need assistance.
So I'd rather just merge addresses, memos, etc. separately. Reason, Merge will not cause all the duplicates that Import will. I've got 355 addresses in one User Data file & 415 in the other. Many will be duplicated in an import.

  • Merge Two Access Databases created with Test Stand

    Hello All,
I am trying to merge 2 databases using LabVIEW.
When I read the values from the first database some of the numeric fields in the table are NULL.
When I try to write to the second database, those values are being written as 0 if integers and 0.0000 if doubles.
Is there a way to write those values as NULL in the second database if they are Null numeric fields in the first database?
    Thank you in advance,
    Stoimen

    Hi Stoimen,
I am not sure how the flow of your program goes, but you could use the Database Variant to Data to cast the database variant to another type.  This will accept the NULL values from the database and from there you can manipulate them how you wish.  This tutorial may also be helpful in explaining the Database Variant to Data function in LabVIEW, specifically this section: "The null type arises naturally when working with databases (fields in a record are allowed to have null values), so Database Connectivity Toolkit has a special Database Variant to Data function that handles null values, but detecting them requires several steps."
    I hope this helps!

  • Merging two calendars together in iCloud

After much work we now have the who family sharing the same calendar.  The downside is I had to create a new calendar called "Family" the old calendar is called "Home" The issue is, now all the information is still on the "Family" calendar in iCloud. Can anyone help?  Thanks,

You your other family members are iCloud users you could just privately share your Home calendar with them, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a9479.  This would give them ready/write access to it.  Or, if they aren't iCloud users, you could publically share it and they would still have read access to it.
Otherwise you would have to go to icloud.com and drag and drop the events from Home to Family.

  • Can you merge two user accounts on macbook? my wife has created a user on her new macbook , then inadvertently created a second one when using the migration tool. 1st ac has her office 365 install, yet 2nd has her itunes database, docs and contacts.

Can you merge two user accounts on a macbook? my wife has created a new user on her new macbook air then, inadvertently, created a second one when using the migration tool. 1st a/c has her office 365 install, while 2nd has her itunes database, docs and contacts. What is the best way forward to get everything into the one account? Not sure if the office 365 will allow another installation into the second account, otherwise would just do that and delete the first, if that is possible?

There is no merge but you can move data from one account to another via the Shared folder. Data is copied from Shared. Watch your free space when copying. These are large files.  Do one at a time if you are on a small drive. After making copy, delete from other users before you start next copy.
Office365 installs in the main Applications folder and is available for all users on the computer. Activation is tied to the drive not the User.

  • Need help in merging two database

    Dear All,
Can any one please let me know the methodology/Best practices for merging two databases.
We are having two oracle Database A and B, the data from
Database A has to be migrated to Database B using PL/SQL scripting.
it will be a great help,Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Use the DB Links and try to use the "MERGE" that is better.
you can clone it right, almost you are getting the same data from A to B and then you are going to Update is I am correct. Does the "B" consist the data, If yes then you can't clone on exiting DB, As i said above go for DB links and write custom scripts as per your requirement.

  • Sync two calendars without merging data

New Incredible user (had the phone ~ 1 week), and I cannot find the answer to this. I would like to sync the phone to two calendars (one at home (personal) and one over Exchange (business)). However I only want the phone to display the two calendars without updating information on both. In other words, I want to leave my personal appointments only on my personal calendar and my business appointments on my Exchange calendar.
    Is this possible?
If I set the phone to sync both calendars, will it merge ALL appointments onto all my calendars?

If I understand it's your goal to put both system and data volumes on a single volume then turn the two volumes into one, i.e., repartition the RAID into a single volume. And, you wish to do that without losing the system volume.
Does the RAID card permit such an action on the fly? I know that Disk Utility does not, but most likely your RAID is not under DU's software RAID. If this isn't permitted by your card then I don't think you can do what you want without essentially starting over.
In most cases setting up multiple volumes on a RAID array must be done when the array is set up. The drives are first partitioned then multiple arrays are structured using matching partitions.
Now if in your situation each "volume" is actually a pair of drives, then it may be possible to do what you want. RAID 5 supposedly does not split data across the drives so essentially joining one "volume" to the other could be feasible.

  • Merge two databases with identical schemas

I need to automate the merging of two identical databases into a new database using java.
    Any help or pointers?

I need to automate the merging of two identical
databases into a new database using java.
Any help or pointers?I would start by changing the requirements ("using java").
Other than that certainly if there is any volume and if it needs to be running while you are doing it is going to be a real problem.
Excluding that you do the following.
    1. For each table determine specifically what is meant by "are these rows equal".
    2. Write a merge method for each table.
    3. Write more methods to deal with foreign keys
    4. Put everything together in such a way that it runs.
    5. Provide a method for reporting errors.
    6. Plan on spending a lot of time supporting it.

  • How to... Merge two ical calendars

At some point about a year ago, a glitch while syncing with mobile me, caused for ALL calendars to duplicate, i.e.: I have 2 "Home", 2 "Travels"... etc, etc.
So for a year now, I have not figured out a way to return to one of each.
Is there a way in which I can "merge" 2 calendars, in other words, just to have all events from one join the other, add a new title, and choose a new color, so I can bring this down to one of each???????.
This glitch happened when I had all my laptops registered, a Tiger one, and a Leopard one.

    gusluz,
First use iCal>File>Export>...iCal Archive..., and save that file to your Desktop. That will allow you to revert to your current data if you run into a problem.
Then use iCal>File>Export...>Export on the calendar that you want to delete, and save it to your Desktop. Do this for each one of the calendars that you wish to delete.
After exporting and deleting, double click on the individual iCal exports and import them into the appropriate/corresponding calendar.
After importing use (⌘ + I) on the consolidated calendars and choose the desired color.

  • How to CREATE VIEW to merge two tables each of which has CLOB-typed column

I failed in creating a view to merge two tables that have CLOB-type column each.
    The details are:
    Database: Oracle 9i (9.2.0)
Two tables "test" and "test_bak", each of which has the following structure:
    ID Number(10, 0)
    DUMMY VARCHAR2(20)
    DUMMYCLOB CLOB
    The following operation fails:
create view dummyview (id, dummy, dummyclob) as
select id, dummy, dummyclob from test
    union
    select id, dummy, dummyclob from test_bak;
    I was announced:
    select test.id, test.dummy, test.dummyclob
    ERROR in line 2:
ORA-00932: inconsistent data type: required - , but CLOB presented.
But if creating views from only ONE table with CLOB-type columns, or from two tables WITHOUT CLOB-typed columns, the creation will succeed. The following 1) and 2) will succeed, both:
    1) one table, with CLOB-typed column
create view dummyview (id, dummy, dummyclob) as
    select id, dummy, dummyclob from test;
    2) two tables, without CLOB-typed columns
create view dummyview (id, dummy) as
    select id, dummy from test
    union
    select id, dummy from test_bak;
I want to merge the two tables all, with complete columns, how to write the CREATE VIEW SQL statement?
    many thanks in advance

    Dong Wenyu,
    No.
    But you could do this:
    SELECT source.*, nvl (tab1.clob_column, tab2.clob_column)
    FROM your_table1 tab1, your_table2 tab2, (
    SELECT primary_key, ...
    FROM your_table1
    UNION
    SELECT primary_key, ...
    FROM your_table2
    ) source
    WHERE source.primary_key = tab1.id (+)
    AND source.primary_key = tab2.id (+)
In other words, do the set operation (UNION (ALL)/INTERSECT/MINUS) on just the PK columns before pulling in the LOB columns.

  • Is there a way to merge two iCloud accounts ?

I have a Mobile Me account, and an Apple account which I use with iTunes (with a GMail address).
With iCloud, each of them have been linked to iCloud.
It's not quite easy to have two accounts, and as Mobile Me is going to end, I'd like to merge everything (calendars, contacts,...) into the GMail account.
Is there a way to do that ?

Apple has absolutely no word on whether they will allow this in the future, but for now, no, it's not possible to merge IDs.  You can set up two accounts on your device for iCloud (one for syncing, one for purchases).  Apple was at least kind enough to give us that much:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895

  • How to merge two Apple accounts by migration

    Hello to you all
My question relates about merging two apple accounts.
Having two accounts is an issue (for instance when you start setting up Family sharing, or trying to get phone calls on your Mac)
As we know, merging two accounts is alas (still ?) not possible.
But it should be possible to address the issue it my migrating data.
As many people, I have two accounts:
Account A: [email protected], with all my purchases (iTunes, apps, machines)
Account B: [email protected], with my calendar, contacts, bookmarks, photos...
The best possible option seems to keep account A:
    - Transfer the data from B to A
    - Possibly transferring the [email protected] address into A
    - Close B
    About the data transfer:
    - Transferring iCloud documents is easy (using the Finder)
    - Transferring contacts, events bookmarks is also easy as they can be exported (ex .VCF or html)
    - Transferring Notes can be done by moving the notes from the iCloud list to the On my Mac List
    - Transferring Passwords and Photostreams is difficult (No Export solution for KeyChains, No way to transfer ownership of a photo stream)
    - I do not know yet about transferring the iCloud email address [email protected] into the [email protected]
    So my questions are:
    1) Do you have any idea about transferring Passwords in KeyChain from one iCloud account to another ?
    2) Do you have any idea about transferring ownership of a photo stream to one iCloud account to another ?
    3) Do you have any idea about the email address transfer
    4) Do you have any other way to do this ?
    Thanks for your attention
    Kind regards

The easiest thing to do would be to use an iOS device, such as your iPhone to migrate the data from one account to the other.  You can go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign out of account B, choose Keep on My iPhone and provide your password when prompted, then sign back in using ID A to create a new iCloud account and choose Merge when prompted to upload the data.  This will not migrate notes, which as you said, can be dragged and dropped between accounts on your Mac.
This will also not move your existing iCloud email account.  You cannot move an iCloud email account to a new iCloud account.  You would either have to switch to the new @icloud.com email account that goes with your new iCloud account, or continue to use the existing email account as a "secondary account"  To do this, you would go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud on your iOS devices (and System Preferences>Internet Accounts>iCloud on your Mac), sign back into account B and turn on Mail.  Just be aware that, at least on an iOS device, this would not be push email as push is only supported in the primary iCloud account.
Photo stream cannot be moved between accounts either, not can it be enabled in a secondary account.  If you want to keep your photo stream photos you'll have to either save them to your device, or add them to a shared album before signing out of the existing account (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  Another option would be to import them to your iPhoto events, then add them back to your new photo stream using iPhoto when you sign into the new iCloud account on your Mac.
For iCloud keychain, I believe you can turn it off iCloud keychain and you will be given an option to keep a copy of any saved passwords and credit card information on your device.  Then set up iCloud keychain again once you are signed into your new iCloud account.
