Mesage Transfer (SMS & MMS) from Nokia 6600 to Nok...

Hy! I hope, that somebody could help me out. I just want to transfer the existing message from my 6600 to my new baby N93. The message on 6600 are stored in phone memory. I know that I can back up my data from N6600 2 my PC, but it isn`t posssible to transfer the saved mesages to a N-series pone. Is there any possibility to realize the transfer. I hope somebody can help me. Could I do it manually via some kind of file explorer?

You can put all, by PCSuite on PC, but you already know that. After, the only way, is put the messages from PC to Draf folder on new phone. Not a great thing, but only way, as far as I know.

If I wiped my phone I wouldn't have the contacts on my phone to send to my self.    I would need to take just the contacts from my back up. I would have to do this through iTunes and I don't see how I can just extract the contacts only from my back up. From what I can figure out it is all or nothing

  • How can I import SMS / MMS from old phone to iPhone?

Greetings. I wonder, how can I import messages (SMS and MMS) from my old phone to a new iPhone? I have my current phone for about five years and I have there many important messages I can't afford to lose. I know, that exporting messages is often tricky (my old phone is using Windows Mobile 6), but there are some programs that can export messages to various formats (.xml, .txt, .sms etc.). But the question is, how to import these messages into iPhone.
Is it possible via iTunes? Is there an app? Sould I visit Apple Store or support? Thank you for any ideas.
    Johny

Well, I am thinking about iPhone for the first time. My five years old phone is smartphone, but very early one (HP iPAQ 514, running Windows Mobile 6). I know that transfering data between different systems might be difficult, but on the other hand, we have the end of 2011, so I believe in interoperability (at least via third party apps).
Anyway, I've discovered few softwares that can export my messages from my old phone and put it into a file on a computer (in different formats, such as .sms, .txt., .xml or .csv; depends on software and options). But the question is, how to import it into new iPhone.
I've also noticed (from various discussions), that iPhone-related messages are usually saved somewhere in iTunes (something.mdbackup), but again, the question is, how to import it back to phone..
To be honest, I am quite surprised that there is not some easy on-click way (or at least tons of how-to or tutorials). The iPhone is quite a new product (since 2007) and before it there was already quite a large mobile and smartphone market - so "transferring data" should be already solved.. (similar to transferring contacts, calendars and so on).

  • Copy MMS from Nokia N8 to Lumia using Nokia Suite

I've had a Nokia N8 for the last year but now I have just got a Nokia Lumia 920 and have used the app "Transfer My Data" to transfer my sms messages, now this works fine, but it doesn't copy mms.
I was thinking of syncing my mms messages from my Nokia N8 to my pc, using Nokia Suite and then copy them to my Nokia Lumia 920.
Now before anyone says just save the the content in the mms message (image, video etc) and then just copy that to the Nokia Lumia 920. I dont want to do this, as sometimes people send me normal messages as an mms message (dont ask me why).
So how does anyone know how I copy these over, I'm suprised that the app transfer my data doesnt do this
but assumed it would be easy enough on Nokia Suite, am I missing something

    there is none.

  • How can I transfer sms data from a corrupted backup to my phone?

    Hello chaps,
I have an empty iphone, and two backups, from this morning and four months ago.
Restoring the backup from this morning gives the error 'corrupted or incompatible'. I have tried various solutions from forums, none of them work.
So instead I have restored sucesfully from the four month old backup. The ONLY thing I want from the new backup are my sms's.
How do I get these onto my phone?
I have already tried copying the sms file (3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28) from the NEW backup to the OLD backup and tried to restore that, however if I do this it throws the corrupted message.
I have read this file using sql readers, it has all my texts in wonderful glory, I just WANT THEM ON MY PHONE!
    How!?

For a start- Im very suspicious of the corrupted mesage in the first place, I have had previous experiences of this message where restarting etc has resolved the issue, implying that there isnt really anything courrupted, its some bug with itunes or the iphone.
Secondly, even if it is genuinely corrupted, it would seem unlikely that every single file within the backup is corrupted. I only want to retrieve the 30mb sms file. And I can open and browse this file from the corrupted backup just fine using third party software.

  • SMS sent from Nokia Suite is not saved

PC Nokia Suite (7.1.18.0) seems to be working fine on both Bluetooth and USB Cable with my Nokia 6300 (FW is V07.21).
EXCEPT, whenever I send SMSs from the Nokia Communications Centre, they are not saved anywhere.  I assume that they should save in NCC and immediately be replicated back to my phone, but that is not happening.  So I have no record of anything I have sent, unless I key it in onto my phone.
All off the other categories of SMS (Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Archive) seem to replicate OK between phone and NCC.  Why not the Sent messages?
And yes, I am sure that the messages are being sent - that was the first thing I checked
What am I (or the SW) doing wrong?
    Thanks

unfortunately I'm also suffering from lack of this feature. however I'm not sure which other mobile phone can do something like requested by author (and me ).
Suppose it has something to do with the way desktop software works with GSM phones, it probably just sends series of AT commands to GSM phone modem, initiating sending of message. Saving of message into "Sent" box may be not implemented into standard AT command set (but here I'm only guessing).
I've happened to work with old Siemens phone and it behaved almost same way, i.e. messages were sent but not saved in "Sent" box. However there was a trick - desktop software had not only "Send" but also "Save" button, and pressing of this button saved messages in "Drafts" box. So if I needed absolutely message to be saved in "Sent" box, I prepared messages and saved them to "Drafts". Later I should take my phone and send messages manually from phone, so at least I saved efforts on typing, but had to work from both PC and phone interfaces to send message.
I'm not sure if any "alternative" software for Nokia phones (like Oxygen Phone Manager) have this capability, but if you look at this screen http://www.oxygensoftware.com/en/products/opm2/images/SMSPictureMessage.gif you shall see there "Save" button which may possibly (?) implement same functionality.

  • Transfer sms msgs from E75 to N900

How can I use phone switch from E75 to transfer my sms msgs to N900?  In other words, what do I need to do to receive these on the N900?

Go on to the message manager in PC Suite, let it read your phone, select the messages you want to save and drag them to the folder on you PC you want to save them in.
I tested this last night and it worked but I could not find a way of getting them back to your inbox and could only save to drafts but I used my N70 so your two handsets may differ slightly.
Depends if you just want to save the messages or have them on your new handset.
The good news is this method only seems to copy them and not physically move them so you can afford to play a bit.Message Edited by ricksvill on 13-Aug-2006

  • How i can transfer my contacts from nokia 2690 to iphone

I have an old nokia phone 2690. I puchased a new i phone 4 . So how i can transfer my contacts to iphone ?

Sync the old phone to the supported contact program on your computer, then select this contact program to sync your contact info from in iTunes:
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    Contacts
To sync contacts with your computer, choose "Sync Contacts with" within iTunes for Windows, or "Sync Address Book Contacts" on your Mac.
You can sync your contacts with:
Microsoft Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2007, Microsoft Outlook 2010 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
    Windows Address Book (Windows XP)
Windows Contacts (Windows Vista / Windows 7)
    Address Book (Mac OS X)
Microsoft Entourage 2004, Microsoft Entourage 2008, or Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac
Note: If using Microsoft Entourage, use Microsoft Entourage 2008 12.1.2 or later if syncing with Mac OS X v10.6 or later. If you would like to sync data on your Mac with Entourage, enable syncing between Entourage and Address Book.

  • Is it possible to transfer sms conversations from one iphone to another?

    Hey Guys,
I accidentally cleared the sms conversation between my girlfriend and I on her iphone, she doesn't use itunes so I cant just restore it from her last sync. I still have the conversation on my iphone tho, is there any way I can transfer it from my phone to hers. Any help would be great
    Cheers.

    I doubt it.
You could investigate PhoneView or MobileSyncBrowser (or maybe TouchCopy), which could let you get the SMS messages as a text file and then she could save it on her computer. I'm guessing it has sentimental value?
But I don't think there is any feasible way to get it onto her phone. Oh wait, you could also take screenshots of the conversation and then email them from your camera roll to her. Probably easiest.

  • Problems with SMS backup from Nokia PC suite

    Dear forumERS,
sorry to bother you with a question asked many many times i guess...but apparently no solutions yet (at least: as far as i red until now).
I switched form Nokia Xpress Music 5800 to Nokia E71 and the backup with PC suite worked quite ok for contacts, settings and calendar. SMS were imported as well, but the phone shows phone numbers instead of names as senders in the inbox folder (= i see the phone number but not the name). However, in the outbox folder, the same phone number is correctly recognized and linked to the contact (= i see the name of the recipient). But if i read the content of the inbox folder from PC Suite, i see the names correctly. In addition, the phone doesn't import the content of the archive folder. What's wrong with my cell phone and/or backup and/or PC Suite? Can anybody help?
Thank you in advance for your attention!

  • Error when downloading SMS messages from Nokia 623...

    Hi,
I have been using a Nokia 6233 phone for the past 3 yrs. Now that my phone memory is full I was attempting to download the messages in my inbox to my PC. However when I attempt to connect my phone to my PC (this is the first time that I am trying this) I get an error "The operation could not be completed" with an OK button.
The below are the steps that I have performed.
Connected my Phone to my mobile (it connects and I am able to download all multimedia related files without any problems) using a data cable and the Nokia PC Suite ver 6.70.22 software.
Successfully taken a backup of my Phone memory and my memory card.
From the PC Suite launched the option for Messages. Opened the folder for Inbox, however didnt see any messages in my inbox in the PC. However there are aprox 350 messages in my phone inbox.
Then I right clicked on in the folder (messages) and selected refresh. To this I got a popup which read  Updating ... "Phone and comuter messages  are now being updated".
After thinking for some time I got the above message.
I have tried this a dozen times by disconnecting my mobile and connecting it again and even restarting my PC but with no luck.
     Would greatly appreciate your assistance.

  • Is there a way to access saved sms/mms from memory card on pc or new phone?

I saved my text messages to the memory card and was able to view them in c510 phone. The screen on that phone wrecked and I got a new c510, but the text messages, etc. that are saved on the memory card are not detected on the new c510.
Is there a way to access the saved text messages on the memory card either on the new c510 or on my pc?
Please help...these are very important text messages.

Thanks Dr. Chris...I thought my messages were safe on the memory card while my phone was sent for repair, but the phone was not fixed and I think they did a software upgrade and I can't access my messages on my original phone. I bought a new c510 thinking that it could read the messages from the memory card, but it doesn't. I'm really confused how the messages are saved on the memory card, but there is no way to access them...very weird. Someone should invent something that can do this...I think they would make alot of money.
In future, what is the best way to save important text messages other than saving them to the sim card?

  • How do i transfer SMS messages from iPhone 2g to iPhone 5?

    Hey everyone,
I've just upgraded from the original iPhone 2g, to an iPhone 5.
I backed up my 2g phone to my computer, and then restored my new iPhone 5 frm that back up. However eveything from my old phone has transferred accross (Music, Photos, Notes etc...) but none of my text messages have transferred accross onto my new phone.
Does anyone know why this has happened, and how / if I can get my old messages onto my new phone?
Thanks for your help in advance.

You can try to restore again, but I wouldn't count on it working.
The iPhone 5 uses iMessage which wasn't available on the 2G, so there might be an incompatibility.
Honestly, I wouldn't even use the backup from the 2G - it's a 6 yr old phone model and you might be carrying over some setting that isn't desirable on a new device.
