Mesages dissapeared after pc suite installation - ...

Hi all
I have a problem with my PC suite usage.
I tried installing it in my computer but there was an error and it stopped installing part way. Then after that, when I checked my mobile, all my text messages in the inbox had dissapeared.
The second time I managed to install PC sutie and was able to see my msgs in the PC suite screen. But none of the previous msgs were availabe. I had around 2000 text msgs, now only the last six in the inbox are available.
I use a micro sd memory card too.
Has anyone else had this problem ?
Can anyone explain what happened?
Is there any way I could retrieve my msgs?
Where do you think they may be located?
I just want to get back the msgs
I tried backup in the PC suite, but none of my msgs saved in "saved msgs" or sim msgs get backed up... what can i do??

Hi,
Does your account that you've logged into XP to run this executable file has admin privileges? If not, right click on the executable file and run as different user and use the administrator user name - password of the XP.
If you have admin privileges with your user maybe the exe file that you are using corrupted.
Try out download it again from Sony Ericsson web site. Go to http://www.sonyericsson.com and select your country. After that, go to the Support part, select your phone and there you'll see Downloads link. Click on it. Download the software that you wanted. (http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/w995?cc=gb&lc=en)
For example PC Suite. (http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pcsuite/w995?cc=gb&lc=en). And if you can successfully install it, make an update check and you'll get a new PC Companion 2.0 instead of PC Suite 6.0.

VIs running slow after Developer Suite installation

Up until yesterday, I was running a version of LabVIEW 8.5 that I had downloaded from the NI website, and then activated using the serial number.
Yesterday, I got around to installing the full NI Developer Suite (including LabVIEW 8.6 and a load of extra modules/toolkits), from the supplied DVDs.
Since then, my VIs seem to be running a lot slower.
Is there something that might have started running in the background slowing things down, since the Dev Suite installation? Is there a known issue in the speed of v8.6 compared to v8.5?

Hi there
I have several LV versions installed, including 8.5.1 and 8.6.1, and as far as i know there are no issues regarding slowing down VIs.
1. Take a look at the projects "Files" tab page to check wether there are still some 8.5 VIs linked to your code
2. If you are absolutely sure there are no 8.5 VIs linked make a mass compile of your project (Tools->Advanced->Mass compile)
But maybe it's something simple like a highlighted execution in one of your sub VIs.

Issue in SOA Suite Installation - prerequisite for AIA 3.0 Installation

We are facing an issue in SOA Suite Installation which is prerequisite for AIA 3.0 Installation. As per AIA 3.0 Installation Guide, the Web Logic Server version to be used is “Web Logic Server 11g R1 10.3.1“ for Linux86 32bit Version.
After Installation of SOA Suite on Linux Environment, the em console page is not opening.

We have faced such issue during SOA 11g Installation on Windows Operating System, and installed latest version of Web logic Server and the issue was resolved.

PC Suite Installation hangs - any new tricks?

I've been trying to install PC suite on my computer but without any results. My operating system is 32bit Vista and I've tried to install 6.84.10.3 & 6.85.12.0 versions of PC suite.
6.84.10.3 hangs 61%/20% and 6.85.12.0 hangs on 40%. I think that it has something to do with Cable Connectivity Driver installation but haven't figured out the problem...
I've also tried solutions mentioned in other topics in this forum, installing without internet connection, killing the setupt.exe during installation etc. The computer is not running Roxio roxwatch.exe.
Can't clean up the computer by using Nokia PC suite cleaner because it doesn't support Vista....etc. Any help would be appreciated, I think my multimedia phone is quite useless without PC suite.

Hi all, solution found:
After some research I came up with the following detour to get the PC suite installed and work: From the register editor I found that windows makes an installation folder to: Crogramdata\Installations\(then a folder which is named by a code)\(subfolders) (Programdata is hidden folder)
The subfolders contain all the packages from which the normal PC suite installer installs the different parts of the program. There were CCD, PCCS, Nokia_PC_suite and VC80_x86 folders. All those folders included setup subfolders which contained installer-files. I simply installed all those parts separately with their own installers and everything works OK! First I installed CCD (Cable Connectivity Driver) then the PCCS (PC Connectivity Suite) and finally I installed Nokia PC Suite.
PCCS has to be installed before Nokia PC suite program itself.
Installation was succesfull and there were no errors during it. I also tried to install the VC80_x86 but nothing happened... Does any one know what is it? But so far so good, PC suite works.
I guess the main installer is not working and is the cause for hanging the whole installation.
Hopefully this was helpful if someone has encountered same kind of problems.

PC Suite installs ok, but "operation failed" on si...

PC Suite installed fine, no error messages. Previously, I had no troubles.
A day or two ago, the version of Nokia Software Updater was itself updated, to 1.4.98EN
Now, whenever I attempt to install a sis or sisx file, from Windows, I get an "operation failed" error, from Nokia Application Installer. This happens whether or not I have PC Suite configured to install apps to either the phone or to its memory card.
Also, When I connect my phone to my PC, I can no longer browse either the phone's memory card, from Windows. Windows Explorer can detect the presence of the memory card but, when I select the memory card, Nokia Phone Browser gives me the error "The operation could not be completed".
However, Nokia Phone Browser can access the phone's memory, just fine.
Has anyone else encoutered this, particularly after Nokia's updater was updated? Is there a solution?

Good catch, cricfancy. I missed the PC Connectivity solution. This time, I sorted the installed applications by Publisher and found all that were from Nokia, including the PC Connectivity Solution.
I uninstalled all of these:
Nokia Software Updater
Nokia Photos
Nokia PC Suite
Nokia Flashing Cable Driver
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
PC Connectivity solution
Rebooted PC
Ran CCleaner Registry Cleaner
Rebooted PC
Reinstalled Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0

During the Nokia PC Suite installation, Windows Media Player spiked an error (I didn't realize any portion of WMP was even running). That's been happing a lot, recently.
Windows installed the connectivity drivers and Nokia PC Suite indicates the phone is connected.
PC requested a reboot.
All the USB drivers Windows was unable to install, the last time around, are now installed correctly.
And the result is:
I still cannot browse the phone's memory card, from Vista. Phone's memory is visible to the PC, just fine. Interestingly, the Settings for Nokia PC Suite (destinations for music, video, installs, etc.) defaulted to folders on the phone's memory card. When I drag and drop media, on to Nokia PC Suite's Windows desktop app, the files transfer just fine to the phone's memory card. But, this does not work for text or MS Office files (Excel, Word, etc.). Those spike a "unable to copy the file on the phone" message, from Nokia PC Suite.
It appears, for the time being, that my only alternative is the use Mass Storage as a way to access the phone's memory card, from Windows Explorer, in order to transfer data files that aren't media.
And, "operation failed" is still what comes up, from Windows, when I attempt to install .sis files with a double-click in WIndows Explorer.The workaround, though, is to drag-and-drop the .sis file, from Windows Explorer, on to the Nokia PC Suite desktop app.I can live with that.
I'm going to consider this problem to be more-or-less closed. I mean, I understand the workarounds needed.

Comment about PC Suite Installation

These things are bug me quite long time on new PC Suite Installation program:
- When I install PC Suite to computer, I get not change to choose what things I want to run on system boot. It is rely annoying.
- Also, when I start some of my Firefox installation after installation of new PC Suite, seems that PC Suite force me also to install PC Sync Extension to that my Firefox web browser, and without any uninstallation possibly! Why? Is that relly needed??
At this moment: PC Sync Extension was just now forced itself to join on my Firefox Portable installation! What I do that extension in Firefox Portable installation? And why I can't uninstall it with web browsers extension list? It rely seems that I don't need that extension on my computer, even in local installation of Firefox - So I rely hope that installation of that extension could also be skipped when installing PC Suite to system.

The PCSync Firefox Extension is a package which comes along with the PCSync. Without it, users will have problems in syncing the bookmarks and the rss feeds.
However, if still you dont need this
The simplest way is to disable the PCSync Synchronisation Extension directly from Firefox (Tools/Add-ons/ click on the PCSync add-on and choose Disable option).
You can 'uninstall' the PCSync Firefox Extension if you want, by removing the registry key [email protected] ( from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions) and by deleting the folder bkmrksync (usually installed in C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 7\bkmrksync). Also, the extensions.rdf file related to the Mozilla Firefox Extensions need to be checked for any PCSync references, and those references need to be removed.

Ovi Suite installation fails: something's gone wro...

Ovi suite installation fails: "Something's gone wrong. Nokia Ovi Suite Installation requires that PC Connectivity Solution 7.0.0.0 or later is installed before you can continue." I tried all possible options; removing all related items, drivers, registry entries. Nothing helps. No decent logging. Where can I find this PC Connectivity Solution? No decent help. Complete lack of information. After failure, lots of items are still installed and remain. No decent rollback. Windows installer cleanup is no longer available from Microsoft due to issues. So I'm stuck with an invalid piece of installed software. Just tried the third time I'm giving up. Spent the whole day on this. Has this been tested properly anyway on Windows 7 32 bits? The message in itself "something's gone wrong" does not really give me any hope on this. Please provide a solution.

Ovi Suite Installer Hangs on Windows XP SP3

Hi,
I'm getting really frustrated trying to Install the Ovi Suite Installer 2.2.0.241 on my Thinkpad T400. I still have about 8G free, but the installer hangs at about 50%. I have tried to install numerous times, with and without restarting the machine., but get the same unsuccessful results. For now I have to do with the Nokia PC Suite which was successfully installed, but I really look forward to using the OVI.
I just purchased a Nokia N97 mini after having spent 5 years on Windows Mobile due to hardward and software issues. I hope I did not make another mistake by moving back to Symbian! Even when I cancel the installation, it still hangs. Help please.

I am not sure whether this will solve your problem but if have not followed this can try it once.
1. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove
2. Delete the files from here:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
3. Restart your PC
4. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite

Indesign dissapears after restart

Hello.
After i tried the CS6 beta all my Adobe programs are dissapearing after restart. Registry stays but they dissapear from start menu and wont open up afterwards.
Most of the errors are either : "Please uninstall and reinstall the product " Error: 1
Or that the specific file does not exist.
I have reinstalled it thousands of times already after every restart . I have been keeping my computer in sleep for weeks just not to reinstall it again.
This problem began after CS6 beta didnt want to uninstall itself and i used something called the "Perfect uninstaller" i did not know that adobe had creative suite uninstaller thing then.
All the other programs are fine after restart but the CS ones are dissapearing from start menu and refuse to start up from their program direction.
I can evade Error 1 with administrator mode (after restart) but i cannot have the drag drop function. Which is crutial to my workflow.
PC Specs:
Windows 7 home premium
Asus Notebook N73SV
Intel Core I7-2670QM
Ram 8gb
Nvidia Geforce GT540M

And in future, NEVER run beta software on a mission critical machine. You need to be prepared to completely rebuild any machine that you use for testing, and one really good method is to make a disk image of some known good state that you can restore if necessary so you don't have to go through the hassle of reinstalling the the OS and all the apps, but it's still a pain.
You might, if the cleaner tool fails, try using Windows System Restore to go back to a point before you installed the beta software, but the odds of that working after everything else are probably not better than 50-50.

I own a late 2009 Macbook Pro, and it keeps freezing after OSX Lion installation. I will post my computer's 'specs' below. I installed Lion, from Snow Leopard, through the App store. The first week, it worked like a dream, and was loving my brand new computer, or so it seemed. I then began to run into problems, and I can't confirm this 100%, but I believe it was after I updated from 10.7.1, to 10.7.2.
The freezes are sporatic at best, and cannot be narrowed down to one app. I googled the issue about two weeks ago, and found a fix involving a temporary log-in, verifying the disk, restarting the computer holding CMD+R, and repairing the disk from there. That fixed the problem. For about three or four days. From there I brought my laptop to Best Buy, where I purchased the computer (start the groans, my dad wanted the accidental damage, and he was paying, there was no argument). My warranty there was still good, but all they were offering was to check my hard-drive, and possibly ship it out. That would not be good for me, as I am a High School student, who works online.
So I then decided to go to the Apple store, see what they said. They said a bunch of people had this problem, it would cost a lot to fix, as I would need a new Logic Board. This did not make any sense to me, as I knew it was Lion's fault, so why would they not make the L-2009MBP Logic Board compatible, and why are only a few people having this problem, well a lot more than a few, but I mean not everyone.
So I asked a friend about it, and we decided to run a back up, and erase the computer, and re-install Lion. Figuring maybe my data was corrupted during install. This helped for a day or two, and happened again. So this time, we backed up only files (music, pics, documents, etc.,) and did a fresh install. I got my computer back last night. Now, I am not saying that didn't help. Previously I would have frozen about 18 times well writing this, but I have not frozen once (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself). I have gone from about one freeze every 10-15 minutes (sometimes worse), to about one every 1-3 hours. Which, let's be honest is still a lot.
So, before I just decide to go and revert to Snow Leopard on my merry way, I ask, do any of you have any other ideas? Or guarenteed fixes? I know a guarentee is a hard thing to ask for, but I am desperate, my teachers are getting angry with me for not sending work, and I know this would help a lot of people. Thank you to those who read through my whole spiel, and thank you to those who will help me!
[Ps, while I am somewhat of a noob, I know my way around a computer, so any help, or knowledge you could bestow upon me is awesome. Especially DIY fixes. (if your only advice is, don't buy a mac at Best Buy, don't bother commenting)]

Once it is downloaded you need to restart the computer if it does not restart automatically. When it next starts up you should note a progress bar appearing below the Apple logo. When done the computer will restart once more. The new firmware should now be installed.

Hmmm... So you upgraded Firefox and now neither Firefox or Safari will work? Very weird. I have no idea what might have gone wrong. That said, when things start acting wierd, I always try a bit of maintenance first. About 95% of the time, I luck out and it works.
I use the free program Onyx. I run all the clean up routines. Then I boot to the recovery partition (Lion) or the OS X Install Disc and repair permissions and verify/repair the hard disk.

I have recently updated my iTunes to the latest version in order to sync music onto my new ipod shuffle. However after a successful installation the application does not launch or open? There are no error messages. The application is just unresponsive.
I have already checked the compatibility with Safari, my operating system and checked my firewall is not blocking it - all is fine.

Only two had virus on windows XP this week and wiped them with Avast. The itunes asked me to install the update, and so I did. but it always gives me that message.
