Mesh Access Poits Disappearing

Hi.
We have installed 20 mesh access points (x16=1522AG, 1131AG) controlled by 4402 Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) version 5.2. The network is currently up and running. The problem is that some access points disappear from the controller and then reappear. I captured some message logs in the WLC shown below:
5 Fri Feb 19 11:55:53 2010 Mesh child node '00:26:0a:39:65:0f' is no longer associated with mesh node '00:26:0a:38:6e:00'.

7 Fri Feb 19 11:55:29 2010 AP Disassociated. Base Radio MAC:00:26:0a:39:65:00
8 Fri Feb 19 11:55:29 2010 AP's Interface:1(802.11a) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:00:26:0a:39:65:00 Cause=Heartbeat Timeout

The Mesh access point above is a Mesh Access Point (MAP).
Someone pliz explain the logs or the intermittent disappearance of the Access Points.

Hi,
I believe this is correct.
The Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Configuration Guide, Release 5.2 states the following:
Controller software release 5.2 supports these Cisco Aironet mesh access points:
• Cisco Aironet 1520 series outdoor mesh access points – Cisco 1520 Series consists of the 1522 dual-radio mesh access point and the 1524 multi-radio
  mesh access point.
• Cisco Aironet 1130AG and 1240AG series indoor mesh access points
The setup is already working and users are able to connect to the internet etc. Only that some mesh access points keep disappearing...but not for long periods of time.

  • AirPort Extreme (5th Gen) WiFi access point disappears but wired ethernet is ok

My AirPort Extreme SSID and access point "disappear" randomly from available WiFi networks. I had a 1st gen AirPort Extreme and never had this problem until earlier this year. I thought it might be a failing radio in the 1st gen unit so I used it as a good excuse to get a 5th gen AirPort extreme about 3 months ago. Same problem has been occuring; unfortunately it is random and I cannot get a handle on what/when/why it is happening.
For example, my iPhone 4S was connected to the network at about 1700 today and when I next checked the phone around 2115, no wifi connection and my network was not listed in the WiFi connections. The base station is away from other wireless devices (mouse, keyboard) and is about 10 feet from the nearest PC and monitor. Both printers are accessed via ethernet, not wifi. The strange and puzzling thing is that the PC, which is connected by ethernet to the AirPort Extreme, is still connected to the internet (I can browse, check email, newsgroups, etc.).
When I run the AirPort Utility, the base station is identified (AirPort Extreme 802.11n 5th Generation), there is an appropriate IP address, Version 7.6 firmware, and MAC address is listed. However, when I attempt to Continue or do a Manual Setup, I'm prompted for the admin password, the progress bar moves during 'reading from the Apple wireless device. Please wait...,' and then the utility reports "An error occured while tryong to access the Apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again. Error -6722.
If I unplug, wait, and reattach the power to the base station, WiFi becomes available again. When the WiFi connection "disappears", the LED light is solid green.
Any insights are appreciated; please let me know other helpful information I can provide.
    Scott

I have the exact same problem and it's driving me nuts.
I bought an airport extreme n last week and plugged it in, hooked it up to my adsl router by Ethernet, configured it to set up a new wifi network and got the green light. I use an iPhone 4, iPad 2, and Windows 7 PC with an N wifi adaptor.
The airport works fine for about 2 hours before the wireless network disappears without a trace. Green light remains on the base station and I can connect fine by Ethernet.
    "it just don't make sense"
    I hope it's not a windows-7-only thing, Apple.
PS. Updated firmware to the newest version, no difference.
Airport is near to a wireless phone so I set a specific wireless channel and frequency to prevent a clash. No change.

    Hi,
I have a site with sixteen (16) 1522AG Mesh Access Points. So far, four of them have failed at various times and I have had them replaced. The diagnosis was most probably power failure. Anyone who has experienced this.....and an explanation to this??

  • Auto-Hide Ribbon - Quick Access Toolbar disappears

In Outlook 2013 I select to auto-hide the ribbon but this also hides the Quick Access Toolbar. Why does it do that. When the ribbon is hidden there is still space for the quick access tool bar so why hide it? It would be really useful to be able to see the
quick access tool bar (in the available space) when the ribbon is auto-hidden.  Now, if I want to use the quick access toolbar with the ribbon hidden I have to un-hide the ribbon first.
Can we see the quick access tool bar when the ribbon is hidden?

    Hi,
By default, Auto-hide Ribbon causes the tabs, ribbons and quick access toolbar to completely disappear, giving you the maximum amount of space to edit documents.
If you want to show the Quick Access Toolbar, we can just select Show Tabs which
shows only tabs, along with the quick access toolbar, but without their associated ribbon commands.

  • TrueSuite finger print Outlook access has disappeared

    Hi all,
I have been using TrueSuite Access to protect MS Outlook (I'm using Outlook2003) since I got my Toshiba laptop, in other words when I open MS Outlook, TrueSuite forces me to swipe my fingerprint so I can access and use MS Outlook.
It's been working fine until yesterday, for some reason the TrueSuite fingerprint option to open MS Outlook has disappeared, I simply go to Start | MS Office Outlook and Outlook opens, it no longer asking me to swipe my fingerprint.
I have not downloaded anything in the meantime except updating my anti virus software.
Do anyone know why this has happened?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Toffo

    Hi
Not quite sure what could affect this but would recommend checking the settings in fingerprint software.
Maybe you will need to register the fingerprints again.
You can also try to update / reinstall the software and to check if this helps.

  • Mesh Warp grid disappears

I am new to AE. While moving intersection points of the Mesh Warp grid overlay on a video, the grid suddenly disappears. It happens when I click somewhere in the image area I think, but I can't seem to reproduce the problem to see what kind of click causes it.
    Any ideas?

Highlight the effect name in the layer's effect controls panel, and the grid reappears.

  • Mesh Access Point

Best Practice to do Site Survey Wireless Outdoor , equipment that i could need to deploy ?
    Thanks.

To get the best performance out of your wireless network, you must both ensure that your access points (AP) are in the most optimal locations and that other radio emitters, which can cause interference, are kept to a minimum. This requires you to periodically perform site surveys of your wireless spectrum.
Depending on the scale of your installation, there are a number of tools available for the task, such as software that walks you through the site survey process. But no matter what size network you will have, you'll need to follow these basic steps:
Have a blueprint or floor plan(s) of the areas you want the wireless network to cover. Some software products can work off these floor plans directly. Look at your plans and identify major building obstacles such as walls, halls, elevators and floors that will block radio signals. Also note where your users will be located -- and where they won't -- to determine coverage areas.
Determine where you can locate APs based on power and cabling that you can run to connect the AP to the rest of the network. Remember that you shouldn't place APs close to metal or concrete walls and you should put them as close to the ceiling as possible.
Estimate the total number of APs needed for your overall coverage. A good rule of thumb is one AP can cover a circle with a 100-foot radius. This will give you preliminary AP locations that you can use at the beginning of your survey. If you already have some APs, note their locations on your floor plans.
Run the survey tool. Make sure to use the same AP model for the survey that is used in your actual infrastructure. See below for recommendations about which tool to use.
Relocate APs and retest, depending on the results of your survey.
Document your findings. Record the locations and log your signal readings and data rates observed for future reference.

  • Form accessibility options disappeared recently

    Greetings,
I've noticed that sometime in the last few weeks I no longer have the ability to turn on accessibility options for forms during form creation.  I used this fairly frequently just for label association with form elements.  I'm curious if this was removed for some reason, or if it is an issue with my installation.
When I go into preferences and click on accessibility, forms is no longer an option where it was a month ago...

I am have been tested  wireless bridging with 2 indoor Cisco 2602 access point by following the attached document and its working fine without any issue.
After then I made one Cisco 1552 EU-M-K9 outdoor access point as RAP, then connect to this RAP with one 2602 mesh access point. But its not working, mesh access point is just start scan the signal to get associate with RAP, but not getting established. Is there any specific configuration required to connect between outdoor and indoor access point. Kindly find the attachment and advise.

  • WGB attached to Mesh doesn't forward Ethernet broadcasts

    Hello all,
We have a requirement for our WGB attached clients to receive regular broadcasts across the mesh.  Based on my current configuration this doesn't appear to be working.  I have no idea why this isn't working.
My mesh is based around 1552E Mesh Access Points, and a  5508 Controller running 7.0.220.0 software
The Work Group Bridges are Autonomous Cisco 1261 APs running 12.4(25d)JA1, attached to a Moxa L2 switch
To complicate matters, the AP and switch are in a network management VLAN (the same as the controller management interface), and the client device is in a seperate VLAN.
There are no problems with unicast traffic to and from the client device.  It is registered correctly on the controller against the right VLAN / controller interface.  I know the broadcasts are present in the VLAN on the LAN side, however they are not received by the client device.
I have enabled Ethernet Broadcast on the controller, in unicast mode (all multicast modes are default)
I have tried the Work group bridges in both infrastructure-client and normal client mode
Can anyone suggest any tests I can confirm to try and track the problem to either the controller or the WGB?
    Thanks,
    Michael

I am assuming you were referring to the Multicast Containment?  I have tried it int in-out and regular mode, to no avail.  I got the impression it was more dealing with bridged traffic between the MAPs themselves?
Would it matter that I am using a static interface (the management interface) for the WGB itself, and a dynamic interface for the end host?

  • How to delete wifi access point on E7 - mails won'...

I have E7 with symbian anna. A while ago I had to restart my home wifi (due to storm) and during that process a new wifi access point (wlan(01) was created on my phone. After that - as far as I have now understood - my phone stopped syncronising gmails altogether. Also in my provider's network (outside wifi, elisa). In order for my phone to sync emails, i need to reboot it (or just turn it off and on, no need to get the three vibrations when turning off).
Question 1) How do I delete this unncecssary wifi access point on E7? I was able to do it easily on my N900 but not on this E7.
Question 2) Is it likely that the reason my phone stopped syncin gmails is related to this wifi issue? Pressing send & receive won't help, either, nothing happens. I have had this E7 for 1.5 months now, Symbian Anna I've had for 10 days and this problem started 5 days ago. Before that the mails flew in very nicely.

To remove access poit, go to settings>connectivity>settings>Destination>Internet>long hold access point and select delete.
For Gmail, don't use it, but if you remove/delete mailbox and then set it up again it should work fine, also heard that during set up if you reject terms and conditions and set up manually it works better ?

    Does anyone has an idea?

  • Mesh parent

I have few questions for mesh network:
what exactly is a parent, child and neigbor in mesh network
1.can a mesh access point act as parent or child to another mesh neighbor ?
    2. an electronic temperature gauge connects to root access point eventhough another mesh access point
is near to it.Any reason why is it so and if we can forcibly make it connect to the nearer one

    4. should the gain if set manually be set on both 802.11a & g
    5. What is the ideal snr for optimal connectivity.
    thanks in advance

    1-
Parent: the root AP that other APs connect to as a child.
Child: the AP that reaches controller through another AP (through the parent AP).
Neighbor: an AP that the mesh AP can hear but it is not connected to it. So it can be heared but it is neighbor parent nor a child.
This link must be read so you understand this:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Mobility/emob41dg/ch8_MESH.html#wp1016044
2- Root AP may have better signal. being closer does not necessarily mean you have better signal. The further AP may have higher power level than the closer one. Test power levels. also, try to make the guage disconnect and connect again and test.
3- Gain is put in order to maintain power levels set by authority. leaving it blank may make the ap exceed the power threshold specified by the authorities. You need to specify the accurate gain under the antenna (for external antennas only).
4- You need to set the gain under both b/g and a radios. each radio may have different transmit power and different antenna gains.
5- There is no ideal value for SNR. It all depends on your requirements and your site. I would say 20+ SNR value is OK. But it may vary slightly depending on your area that you want to cover and clients that connect.

    Summary: Hi,
We have today one Cisco 5508 and those access point on remote sites

    o CISCO AIR-LAP-1231G-E-K9
    o CISCO AIR-LAP-1142N-E-K9
We plan to use redundancy on the controller and implement Flexconnect on the remote site. What we need to know is if I can implement Flexconnect on all actual access point - I think it is possible on 1142N + 1131G but do not know on 1231AG - is it correct or I'm wrong
We plan to install the latest SW version for 5508 controller.
    Thank you
