MESH IP Change

We are going through an IP migration and introducing distrabution layers at all of our buildings. When we change the IP addresses of the AP's we start getting errors where the AP drops off the controller and we get "Max retransmission" errors. If i change the IP addresses back to the old subnet and bypass the distrabution layer they work without any issues. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Editing low-res proxy, then applying changes to high-res

Hello
I'm developing one continuous image for a large wall that will be seen from about 1-2 feet viewing distance. It has to be about 100 dpi.
My image is currently 21,600 x 8100 pixels at 8 bits CMYK. It may get bigger. I don't have to do much manipulation, but a lot of it is using brushes and the smudge tool.
2 issues:
1) I have a 12-core Mac Pro with 24GB RAM. The smudge tool is sloooooow when working on this image (like one smudge at max brush size takes 15-20 seconds to take effect).
2) IS there a "warp mesh" tool that I can use in place of the smudge tool?
Is there a way for me to edit a lower-resolution version of this image, then apply the changes I made to the high-res version? then I can use the smudge and brush tools and finessé my work without the machine bogging down, and the imagery will look correct. I'm looking for a way to use these tools more in real time while working with this big image.

The large brush sizes (in comparison to the image resolution) that I am afforded in the low-res version are brought across to the high-res because the changes are not applied as brush strokes, but rather as alterations to an overall mesh. the changes to the mesh are what is transferred when I export and import.
Applying the mesh is pretty slow, and it requires a few tweaks at the high-res level, but it gets me 95% of the way there. I think this is workable.
To recap - here are the steps:
1) I make a low-resolution version of the image (like 1200px wide)
2) I make my edits to the image using Liquify
3) before committing the Liquify changes, I "Save Mesh" in the Liquify tool
4) I open my high-resolution image
5) I use liquify, but I do not use any brushes, but in stead load my saved mesh from the low-res
6) profit.

T400 boots in low res, then changes to high res once windows boots

when i boot windows vista it boots into a low resolution, and makes everything bigger. Once windows boots up the screen flickers and it changes to a higher resolution. how do I make it stay in the higher resolution?

AP1522 changing parent node very frequent & 2 RAPs are creating a loop

i have 2 issues..
i have 7 units of AP1522 installed, 2 units as RAP and 5 units as MAP. The system is up and running. i have the following problem.
1) The MESH AP changing the parents every now and than.
2) My 2 RAPs connection has been deteced as a loop at my CE500 Switch and on port will be blocked.
following msg from cotroller "(Cisco Controller) >Thu Dec 18 12:41:06 2008: spamMeshExcessiveParentChangeAlarm :: Mesh AP 00:23:05:2D:AC:00 changed a parent 3 times within 60 minutes.

has anyone came across this situation on 2 RAPs before.

Hi Dennis, thanks for your brief info, i have tried all those thing and the spanning tree loop problem is now solve in the latest release XX.35M.
Now when i have 2 RAP connected to CE500, all AP and controller working fine but when i unplug 1 unit of the RAP from the CE500 switch i fond that both RAP link is down. in some tries 1 RAP come up again after about 15 to 20 min and some times my mesh link is fully out from the controller. Can i assume that when i unplug 1 RAP the other RAP works as the primary and make connections available.
Am i correct to say that when i have 2 RAP in the mesh network, both work at the same time 1 fails also another one works find.
Please advice me if anyone came across this situation.

There are a couple of improvements to 3D coming inthe JavaScript API. The developer documentation should be updated sometime soon. Look for a Mesh object change to set individual face colors. Plus the ability to get a view name from the view object after a camera event - so the script can determine if the view has changed.

Set color on ase file format

Dear fellows
I would like to change color appereance in the 3d picture control as the program runs, how can i do that.
As far as i know in 3d picture control you can only change the color and alpha during making the object if you are using primitives.
But how to change the color after making the model (i.e. changing transformation properties).
And how do you set the color from the ASE format model. ( i also want to change it once the model has been loaded)

The ASE loader creates a single mesh. You have a couple of choices how to do this.
1. Turn the color binding off in the object that will own the mesh and change the material color on the object.
2. Change the color array for the mesh.
Note: if your scene isn't lit you should only modify the color array.
Here is an example to demonstrate what I mean.
You can do similar things with the primitives (spheres, etc) by setting their colors via property nodes... If you are reading the geometry from an object, you will need to cast them to the right geometry type in order to do this. Alternatively, you can just apply a material to the object as in the example provided.
I am trying to keep this somewhat brief, but if you have any questions, I would be glad to help or explain more.

Agree with George. You can set the ap to mesh by changing its mode to bridge. you can change the mode from gui:
Wireless -> your ap -> ap mode.

How to use duplicate() to optimize in M3G?

The first version of my 3D world contains about 7 meshes. They all have the same form and geometry, so I figured I could use duplicate() to improve the performance. I mean creating only one mesh and then use duplicate() on that first mesh to create the other ones. The 7 meshes have different textures, so they need to have their own appearances.
I found that it is not possible to use duplicate() to optimize in my case , since the meshes have their own appearance object. When I change the appearance of one mesh, the appearance of the duplicated meshes get changed too. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Create a page with different EO , VO
Step 1 : If the records are displayed in table region then you can add one more column with the item style as " Link " .

Step 2 : You can get the same record in the next screen by executing the query by passing the parameter in where clause .
In processRequest , order of code execution should be
a ) Create a blank row for VO
b) generate new Sequence value and execute the query by passing the parameter in where clause
In processFormRequest ()
Make changes if needed and do Transaction.commit() ;
Though it looks like an updating record , but in database you will find an additional record being created .

Merging 3D Layers Changes Mesh..??

Ok something weird is going on here...
I've imported a simple .obj file with a few beveled faces into my PS doc and then created a simple 3d postcard layer. When I merged the two 3D layers, (.obj file layer is top layer) PS seems to have removed some of the faces in my places .obj file.. ?? What possibly could be happening?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Let me go ahead and try to briefly explain what I'm trying to do:
- I'm building a digitial kitchen room setting, combining 2D and 3D elements.
- I'm first using the Vanishing Point filter to actually build my walls, ceiling and floor by creating a plane from one of the 2D pieces of furniture, then Ctrl-dragging out the rest of the planes to match that piece's perspective, thus creating the room
- my .obj file is actually a waynescoating type baseboard I modeled in Maya, then imported into PS
- Obviously, I want the baseboard to match the perspective of the room, so I create a 3D layer from Vanishing Point from one of the planes (a wall), then merge that layer with the baseboard layer (I've discovered the baseboard layer must be the top layer), because that allows the baseboard to take on the same perspective of the plane. (Hope I'm not confusing you at this point. lol)
- So, after seemingly succeeding finally with getting the perspective of the baseboard to match my room, my beveling in the baseboard totally disappers after merging with the 3D plane.
and, as I imagined, that wasn't so brief explaining that, sorry.

I changed my email address and apple id a year ago, but i am not sure how to change my icloud acccount information so it meshes with all my apple devices which include: an original ipad, iphone 4s, and my macbook pro. I keep seeing this message, " I cloud unable to access the account ( my old email address) Review your account information in your settings. OR it asks me for my old email address password, which i do not remember!

Yo ratboy,
You can do this. In order to map the images, they must be attached as a 3D resource. (There is a free plugin for this; search the forum for "Attach3DResource.api"). Once the images are attached, you can use the 3D Javascript API to map them to the meshes you desire.
For one doc, I attached 25 images in this manner. I then used the script below to create a bunch of empty meshes, and then apply the images to said meshes.

I want to change my apple id on my ipad mini but...

The problem is, twofold... I have a new Apple id I use on my mac and my phone... and I don't think the old id is working anymore on the ipad. I just reset the settings, but, will everything will be just one mesh? I don't want apps to be downloaded to my iPad when I dl apps to my phone... Please help..

If it's greyed out in Settings > iTunes & App Store so that you can't tap on it and log out of it, then does it currently have Settings > General > Restrictions > Accounts set to 'Don't Allow Changes' ? If it does the change it to 'Allow Changes'.
Any apps (and other content) that were downloaded by your account on her iPad will remain tied to your account, so only your account can download updates to those apps

Please help me! I am struggling with the mesh tool!

So I want to make this chair look like it does in the picture, but I cant! There is a chapter in my Illustrator CS3 book explaining how to use gradient mesh and mesh tool, but it doesnt help me at all. I am clueless! The tutorial says that I can create points in the mesh simply by clicking with the mesh tool within an object, but when I try to do that, the pointer is "crossed out". I can only add extra points on lines or edges, but not on empty space within an object. What gives? Why is it that others can do it an I cant? Forgive me if I sound a little too upset, but I've been struggling with this for days and I cannot find an answer.
In this tutorial right here: http://www.layersmagazine.com/illustrator-gradient-mesh-tool.html the guy just clicks in empty spaces creating intersections. In my case it is impossible.
PS: Please look at an attached file and tell me what would be the best way to go about coloring this chair. Maybe I am doing this completely wrong? (I only started learning illustrator about 5 weeks ago)

You know something I think there should be a behavioral change in this case. To my way of thinking this option should automatically be disabled if you select the Mesh tool. If for some reason you want the mesh tool not to behave the way there might be a toggle or a double click to get the preferences for the tool 's behavior itself. I can see where this behavior can be useful but there needs to be a toggle.
Selecting the anchors for adding color with out accidentally creating a new mesh division is good thing but you need to be able to work both ways.
What do you think Scott Weichert you use the tool extensively, am i wrong?

WiFi problems after changing from WEP to WPA on Actiontec router

I need some help/advice--I've searched the forums but am not seeing my exact problem described so decided to describe it to see if the community can help me figure out what to do now. The situation is this: After recently learning about the insecurity of WEP "security" I decided to change the security settings on our Fios router (an Actiontec MI424WR, Rev C). I first tried to change the settings to WPA2, but then my husband's elderly Dell laptop could not connect, so I changed them to WPA. At first everything seemed fine--we could connect to the internet from our computers (my MacBook Pro, his Dell, and various devices--phones, kindle, iPad).
But we soon noticed some strange problems that I was never able to resolve:
I could never get either of two Airport Expresses to connect to the network, even after repeated tries (with hard resets in between)
Within an hour or two after rebooting the router, I was no longer able to connect wirelessly to a NAS device that is connected to the router via an ethernet cable--I could no longer even see it in the Mac finder. I could see it in Windows Explorer from the Dell but could not connect.
Similarly, I lost contact with a Sonos bridge unit that is also connected to the router via an ethernet cable. In this case the loss of contact was sporadic--various devices that connect over WiFi to the bridge could sometimes see it, sometimes not.
Resetting the router would temporarily restore wireless access to the devices hardwired to the router, but I would always lose the NAS device completely after an hour or two and the Sonos bridge sporadically. The computers and devices, however, had no problems connecting to the router itself and from there to the internet.
I finally gave up and returned the security to WEP, and now everything is fine: the Airport Expresses connect, the NAS remains available, and the connection to the Sonos bridge over WiFi is robust (the Sonosnet mesh, if anyone is wondering, was never affected).
I can't understand why switching to WPA caused such problems, but it clearly did, since switching back to WEP eliminated them completely. The simplest explanation is that there is some problem with the wifi portion of the rev C router that only becomes apparent in certain circumstances, though it seems weird that both wired peripherals and wireless airport expresses were affected.
Whatever the causes of the problem, now I'm back to wondering how to improve the security of my network. Should I:
See if I can convince Verizon to replace the modem with a newer version? We have had this one for more than 4 years, since we first got fios.
Just go ahead and purchase the most recent version of the Actiontec router (rev G)? It's only about $115--worth it to me if I can use WPA with it.
Buy our own wireless router, perhaps an Airport Extreme, and turn off the wireless on the Actiontec.
Thanks in advance for any help. This is driving me crazy, and I really don't like feeling as if the network is vulnerable, especially given how extensively we use it.

This doesn't sound too uncommon. I had similar issues in the past with some networks I've worked with that were resolved by moving the router actually to WPA2 or by updating the firmware. The ActionTec MI424WR Rev. F, G, and I require the use of WPA2 since they have Wireless N radios in them so WPA wouldn't be of much use. My old Linksys WRT54GX also had similar issues, but that was a result of the Wireless Radio dying along with a mix of newer hardware not playing nice with the old, no-longer-supported firmware. I retired that router, only to bring it back into service as a Wired router at a friend's home (shutting off Wireless and setting up another as an AP) which replaced an old BEFSX41 which didn't have enough power to handle his Cable connection.
Besides a few software bugs at play somewhere, there isn't much that could cause the wireless to slowly stop working like that. I would suggest moving back to WPA2. For the older Dell laptop if it's running Windows XP, make sure at least Service Pack 3 is installed if it hasn't been getting updated. Also, check for updated drivers for the Wireless card since they may be needed as well. A bit of searching on the Wireless card should also indicate whether or not it supports WPA2 encryption. Anything from the mid-2000s should support it.
