Mess up "Mail, Contacts, Calenders", but good! Described in 1st comment below. Basic computer idiot!

I went in my settings under "Mail, Contacts,Calendars", and I basically made a MESS! Can't get it back to the way it was, was initially using my free Shaw account, now all I get is
Now mail all messed up and can't get it back to what it was, just a total mess on my much used ipad,eg. "Wrong Network Setting","Authentic Address Wrong, IP Address Wrong".........."etc..!Is there any hope?1st used Shaw then tried Live account NO USE, NOTHING WORKS! I am pretty much computer Stupid, guess that's what people get when they do not know crap about, Computers, iPads, iPods (all of which "this" dummy owns. Is there anyway to fix my iPad,, I am disabled, and pretty much cut off from the world without it! Or would you suggest I higher another expensive (to me) to fix it again? Honesty is the best policy (my motto), so be honest! Can "I" fix this mess?

Slowing down a little bit would probably help.
Just to clarify, you are talking about the mail settings only is that correct? Or did you start messing around with all of the other settings on the iPad?
If you just altered the mail settings for the account, it would probably make the most sense to delete the email account and start all over again. But this is suggested on the assumption that you know what the mail settings for your email account should be when you try to add the account again.

Do you have Settings/General/Restrictions/Accounts set to dont allow changes - i have an exchange email account on my 6+ and there was a button at the bottom to delete the account

Your Settings app is crashing. Sometimes, the only way to fix this is by restoring the iOS software but hopefully it will not come to that.
1. Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
2. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

You need to reset your iPad by holding down the home and also the sleep button at the same time till the Apple logo appears then let it wake up.

Mail, Contacts & Calenders in Syetem Preferences Error in Mavericks?

Since I upgraded my iMac to Maverick this error came up ! (See in attached screen shot) Moreover I have attached my iMac information for the better transparency about this issue
also I am not really happy about the tags and definitely prefer the colored labels and I would like to add the colored labels to Mavericks

Mail, contacts, calenders

Still unable to view subfolders in hotmail using my iphone 4s, even affter deleting the hotmail account and adding it in with microsoft express....HELP PLEASE been trying to do this for hours now.

You should be able to view those folders as long as you successfully added a new account to that email client. Have you tried calling the support team check check this with them?

No Tickbox option in icloud mail, contacts etc when I download Icloud

No I'm using microsoft Outlook 2007 with my iinet account on there as my primary email.
I have been told that there is an iCloud plugin that i can use to help the sync process betwen my iCloud and my Outlook.
I have already downloaded the iCloud Client 2.0 from the apple website but I have been told there is a separate plugin specific to outlook.
Do you know where i might be able to find this?

when I click on parameters mails, contacts, calenders I'm brought back to the home view. So I cannot add/delete any mail account or contacts (I cannot add ant contact to facetime or message neither).
I also tried synchronyzing through iTunes but the option is blocked too

Try resetting the iPad by holding down the sleep and home keys, past the red power down slider, and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
Another reset to try is to double click the home button, which should bring up a small bar with icons of all running apps. Scroll to the mail and contacts ones, hold down on one of them until you see the little red circle, tap that circle to close the app, then reopen it and see if that clears the glitch.
In both of these, you won't lose any data, it's just the equivalent of control/alt/delet to reboot or using hte task manager to shut down a glitchy program to let it restart.

Can't sign in to Twitter via "Mail, Contacts

I just got a new Mini running 10.8.2. I've had no trouble setting up iCloud and Yahoo in "Mail, Contacts & Calendars", but when I try to set up Twitter, I am told that that name is already in use. Which of course it is because I'm signed in on my iPad and my iPod and my old laptop that runs 10.6. I can sign in to the Twitter app just fine on this new computer, and I can sign in via Safari as well. Do I have to sign out of everything else to do this, or is there an easy answer?

IPhone Mail, Contacts, Calendars iCloud and Macbook iTunes settings what a mess!

So I have been having some trouble with my iCloud settings and my iPhone lately and tried some changes and have discovered many more issues that make no sense to me. I have an iPhone and a Macbook Pro. Before I set the settings for each device separately so if I made changes to my email passwords I would have to manually update this info on both devices. Later I noticed on iTunes there was an option to sync the settings, so I selected this option and completed the sync. I have found that this does not work at all. When I make a change to either device it does not update on the other. For some reason the iPhone keeps losing passwords for random accounts for no reason, the info is on the desktop and works fine on mac mail and even when entered on the phone it will ask for it again a week later.
So I decided to wipe all mail accounts from the iPhone and start fresh and transfer the settings from the Macbook to the phone. Well this created a new problem. I have two Apple ID's. When I go to turn on all of the on/off settings for this account through mail,contacts and calendars settings, the switch will work but they will not show the blue on icon...no problem at least the information is on the phone. On my second Apple ID I experience the same problem but now the option to sync reminders has disappeared. I performed another sync and still the iPhone is missing passwords for random email accounts, ones that worked before do not work now and ones that did not work work, constantly changing.
In an attempt to see if some other settings needed to be changed I opened the iCloud settings on the iPhone and found that nothing existed, which is strange because under Mail, Contacts and Calendars that account is listed. Now when I input my primary iCloud info into the iCloud settings on the iPhone it asks me to deactivate the settings from the came iCloud account listed under Mail Contacts and Calendars???? They are the same account and should be sharing the same settings! So now when I go into Mail Contacts and Calendars this Apple id is listed twice and naturally neither of the settings transfer to the Macbook!
All I wanted to do was to make changes to a password for an email account on one device and have that information updated on the other...sync as they say. Now I have found out that the iCloud accounts listed under Mail Contacts and Calendars are not associated with one another...it's all a mess to me!
I am reverting back to manually entering account information for emails and iCloud accounts on both devices because the sync option seems to be faulty to me!
Oh yes I am using a Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and an iPhone 4S 64GB with iOS 6.0.1

In MountainLion System Preferences, "iCloud", "Mail, Contacts, and Calenders", and "Software Update" all want to open in 32 bit mode. Security and Privacy won't open either.

Then when System Preferences quits and relaunches IN 32 bit mode, I get a dialog box saying "You can't open (pick one) preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based Mac." Moreover, Security and Privacy does the same thing only without the song and dance about quitting and reopening.
Whaaaaat???!!! I've never owned anything BUT an Intel Mac.
The "open in 32 bit mode" is not, and has never been checked in "Get Info"
I tried going to ~Library/Preferences and tossing all com.apple.system preferences files and rebooting. No joy.
It actually looks like some joker has included a bunch of PPC preference panes in my copy of MountainLion, except some of them are new to this OS.
My hardware is a mid 2010 13" MacBook Pro with4 gb of RAM, and a 500 gb hard drive, in three seperate partitions, running three Mac operating systems, one at a time. I have SnowLeopard in a small partition because I still have a few things that don't run in Lion/ML. Lion is still my main use machine in the largest partition, and when ML came out, I redistributed most of the unused space into a 3rd partition into which I did a clean install of ML in it's own partition so I could work through the growing pains without compromising my main computer. I'm glad I did it that way, but I DO want to get ML working properly, and I can't do that if I can't authorize third party software. Gatekeeper is currently in the way, and I can't get it to move.

I dunno, that doesn't make any sense to me.
I just shut down and rebooted into the SnowLeopard partition and took a peek at the preference panes. There are only 3 that run in 32 bit only. They are all 3rd party, and none of the prefpanes are non Intel. Like I said, I have never owned a PPC machine. Anyhow, SnowLeopard doesn't even have an iCloud prefpane, or a combined mail, contacts, and calenders prefpane, and the ML security and privacy prefpane is all new as well. The software update prefpane is Intel and 64 bit in both SnowLeopard and Lion.
As to the triple boot, unless I'm totally mistaken, what I have here is, in essence, 3 seperate descrete computers in one box. All using the same hardware. but one at a time. I wouldn't know how to get more than one running at the same time, without using a virtual machine, even if I wanted to. (Which I don't) I do sometimes transfer files from one to another using the shared folder, but other than that, they do not interact. How could ML system preferences be trying to launch prefpanes from a totally different machine?

I'm not at all sure about this - if it has any bearing is what I mean - do you have restrictions turned on?
Settings>General>Restrictions>On.... if you do have it turned on, that can prevent anyone from making changes to email accounts. But the way you describe what is happening - it sounds like the Mail, Contacts, Calendars Setting is crashing for some reason. "Send me automatically to the main screen" sounds like a crash - that is what apps do when they crash or quit unexpectedly.
I don't use restrictions and I've never seen them "in action" so to speak. I just assumed that if you had restrictions enabled, the setting is greyed out and "unselectable" if you will.
The only other things I can think of that you can try are to reset the iPad and then restore it if that fails.

If the setting went bad, I know of nothing else to try other than to restore.

IPhone Syncing STUCK when I get to Contacts, Calenders, Mails...

After downloading the new iTunes and updating my iPhone to iOS4, I can't sync my iPhone.
When I plug it in, it appears onto my iTunes and syncs automatically as usual.
After passing the "Backup" part, whenever I reach to Contacts, Calenders, or Mail it gets stuck. It gets stuck for several hours. I tried Replacing the Contacts, Calenders and Mails on my iPhone like I read on another solution, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Because whenever I want to sync some songs in, I can't, because it never passes the Contacts, Calenders, Mail syncing step...

This was happening to me to. It got worse after I upgraded my 3G to iOS4.
My new iPhone4 is REALLY slow to sync to. Getting stuck on contacts, once again!
