Message Alert on nokia 610
hi does anyone know how to set the 610 to remind you have a message, i.e a beep to tell you you a message.
It only makes a sound when the message is received, it cannot be set to make another sound to remind you. A visual message notification is shown on the lock screen.

I am planning to buy a new smartphone in the new year. So I decided to go for Nokia Lumia series Phones.
So I have only two points to confirm.
If I buy Lumia 510 or 620. Will they
1) alert me instantly if I get a email?
2) Alert when some ping me on gtalk or Msn ?
3) Can I use Lync messenger?

Go to Solution.Email feting intervals can be set up in the mail settings. I know that on my phone for my main account I get a notification instantly on arriving mail.
I have my main account set up to get mail 'as it arrives'

any ideas as to why my 6500 classic plays message alert when you send a message now i realise it is meant to do it when you receive a message but not when you send one , my partner has the same phone but hers does not do it
Menu-->Settings-->Profile--> select the profile you normally use..and see if there are any options for customizing available..

Text message alert- turn off or modify
In spite of some other comments on this topic, it is not easy to find how to modify the text message alert in the E71 manual. I have been awakened several times by amber alerts during the night. When I tried to find how to turn off the message alert in the manual, I could not find it. I emailed Nokia and the following (modified a little) is what I received:
To turn off or change text message alert tone:
In response to your concern, we would like to inform you that you can change the message alert tone of your device.
Please refer below for the steps:
1. Select Menu
2. Select Tools
3. Select Profiles and to change the message tone
4. Select current profile if not already selected
5. Select Options
5. Select Personalise
6. Select Message alert tone (page to off or vibrate if preferred)

Trying to find a specific message alert tone.
Hi all,
Firstly, I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to things remotely techy lol.
I recently had a E71 which unfortunatel was lost. I have replaced this with an N97.
However, my favorite message alert tone on the E71, which I'm pretty sure was "message alert tone 3" is not available on the N97, and frankly, I dont like any of the tones on the N97.
I have tried in vain to find it on the internet to download, but to no avail.
Can anybody help please.
Thanks.u can copy your messege tone from ur nokia e71 for this u must have a third party app dr.jukka´s y-browser best for u coz it´s free... then serach the ringtone directory which can b the z: drive or it can b differ depend on the phone... on my e55 the location of tones are z:\data\sounds\digital. try it on ur mobile. after finding that u can send it through ur mobile bluetooth. for this u must have installed bluetooth utility which is also free from jukka´s.

Hi, I currently have a samsung phone which has the feature of being able to set the message alerts to repeat every 2 minutes until you look at the message. Does anyone know if any Nokia phones do this as I can't seem to find any info on this on the product pages. I have had a nokia in the past and much preferred it to my samsung but find the message alert repetition really handy as I was always missing texts. Thanks for your help.

We had one such Motorola in our office at a time. The problem with these phones with their repeated reminders is that they are usually preffered by people that tend to "forget" a bit.
A good example is when they forget their phones at their desks while they are out of the office for a while.
Let me end it by saying that after about 12 minutes the person would have read the message if he was able to catch the phone when it was chucked out the window (on the 4th floor). But I guess that message (and phone) ended up unread.

After reading all the discussions regarding problems people are having pairing and connecting the Nokia N95 with the 610 carkit, I have found a solutions that works and is tried and tested.
Here Goes.
Using a Nokia 6230i copy all your contacts onto the device and pair with the Nokia 610 carkit.
Once paied download all your contacts into user 1.
Once this has been done, disconnect and out the Sim card from the 6230i into the N95.
Now pair this device with the car kit which will work, but when asked to download your contacts, hit the red button on the dial on the car kit. THIS WILL STOP ANY ERROR MESSAGES.
Now when you pair the N95 you must pair on user 1, and when this has completed, GUESS WHAT.
YES you have all your contacts from the Nokia 6230i on the user 1 and able to use with the Nokia N95.

I recently purchased a nokia e65 phone. Ive noticed the message alert box is so small you dont really know that youve received a message. somehow out of luck while fidding around with it a larger box appeared at the bottom of the screen. unfortunately i somehow managed to lose this setting and it has again gone back to the very small writing in the line above the "no cal entried for today" line, for a new message received. can anyone help me who may have encountered this same problem please. ive gone through the whole manual and there is no help in relation to this. its driving me crazy, given Im so used to it on my previous phone.
thanksThe last name first name display for contact in the SMS inbox is completely retarded. If you enter a contact into your contact list with their entire name in the 'first name' field, then the SMS inbox will display a message from that person with first name last name. That's good.
But if you put the contact's first name in the first name field, and their surname in the last name field, the inbox will display them in last name first name order. That's just dumb. And btw this is all with the contact list set to show first name last name.
How can there be no setting to change this? So annoying. -
Hello. I have the nokia 610 installed in my car. Can you tell me if it can work with 6600 ? I try to connect the phone but the first time i get the message "Connection Failed" and the 2nd time i manage to add the nokia 610 to my devices but when i use search from the nokia 610 it can't find any bluetooth devices around. Also i would like to know if i can use the nokia 610 with any type of mobile phone by putting the SIM card in the radio unit. Is it possible ? And where i can find the radio unit ? A real picture of the radio unit it will help me a lot. Thank you.

Have you looked in "My Own" as most new applications reside there?
If you can't see an icon go to Menu > Tools > Manager (Application manager) > scroll down and see if application listed. You can also click "Options" against any application and then "View Log" and again scroll through list to see if any message.
Have you tried resetting 610 to factory settings as described on Page 45 of the User Guide?

I have a new LG Revere. When I receive a text message, the phone makes some sort of alert vocal sound. I can set the text message alert ring tone, but how do I turn off that alert vocal sound?
This question, and another regarding a "voice" or "vocal" alert, leads me to believe you have Voice commands enabled. I'm not sure where this is on the Menu system for the Revere - explore Menu, Tools, Sounds, Voice Commands, Alerts - see if there is a setting for those to be toggled on or off. You may also look in your user manual for those keywords to see if there is anything there that will lead to a way to turn these off.
** Update - Page 65 of the user manual has info on the Voice Commands and turning the prompts to Readout/Readout + Alerts/Tones only I think you want tones only....

Is there a way to turn off the message alert "Cellular data is turned off for _____"?
I turned off cellular data for about half of my apps so I don't go over my data limit (Thanks AT&T). Now every time I open these apps a message alert pops up saying "Cellular Data is Turned Off for _____. You can turn on cellular data for this app in Settings" And it gives two buttons, "Settings" and "Ok".
If it were only a few times, I wouldn't care about closing this message. But now that I have to do it like 20-30 times a day, it has become SUPER ANNOYING. Seriously Apple, how do I turn your stupid message off??? I TURNED OFF MY CELLULAR DATA FOR A REASON, please stop reminding me of what I already know.
AND the worst part is, when that message pops up it locks the phone so the home button doesn't work. Pretty lame software feature in my opinion.There is a fix for this! I was about to jailbreak my phone to cure this issue, but found the answer on another thread.
Go to settings/notification center. Select the app in question and turn the slider for "allow notifications" to ON. Turn off the sliders below for sounds, etc. Now it shows up in the notification center separately (or seemingly not at all) and not on your screen when you switch to the app. Good luck! -
Message Alerting for PI 7.1 with Solution Manager 7.1

i am trying to get message Alerting of the SAP PI 7.1 to the solution manager 7.1 Alert Inbox (PI Monitoring).
I cant find a how to or something.
The following two options are in my mind:
1. implement in RZ20 an Monitor for PI-> create alert categories and rules -> create metrics for the pi in the solman 7.1 (system monitoring) setup to get these mtes.
2. implement the old ccms infrastructure
Goal: get Alerts in the Solman 7.1 PI MON Alert Inbox if some Messages as they defined in the RWB Alert Rules are not transfered.
Get anyone some know how with this use case?

Solution Manager 7.1 has a functionality called Technical Monitoring, which keeps a track of all the performance based & availibility metrics of a managed system.
It can also be used to generate email alerts to a group of intended receipients.
I would personally recommend this over CCMS. It uses Diagnostics Agent to pull all these details from the managed system & the configuration is very easy to achieve.
