Message/Alert problem

Hi,
for a company, we had created a approval stage for invoice creation. When user 'x' create a invoice that needs authorization, the user 'y' doesn´t receive the alert/message; this happen too when user 'y' authorizes the creation, the user 'x' doesn't receive the respective message. This happen 1 day in a week (minimum) during for 3 days.
There's any problem with this functionality? I read a post where mentioned this could happen if the table is lock. There are other reason this could happen?

We have solved the problem. Gordon was right, the outbox messages count was over 11000 for one user.

If there is a missed call or message when the keypad is locked I dont see any lights blinking or D-Pad lights blinking. Is there a way that phone gives us a alert on missed call or messages as how it is in 6700 classic (D-Pad lights blinking untill we take a look at the alert)

I've finally got an ap called Miss Calls Reminder - this is for missed calls and texts. It is on the Ovi store. You have to ID your phone etc., then it asks you to send to phone. The problem is when you get a text with a link for the ap from Ovi and click on it it says it's not available for your model. Instead go the webpage which is mentioned Tektronic - you will see the ap, download it to your pc. It's not free - think it's around £4.00. Once you've downloaded to your pc, then plug your phone in - can't remember what I did next - something to do with Nokia Application Installer on Nokia PC Suite. Anyway you will see the logo - so transfer it from pc to phone. Then you will have option for a trial or buy. Took me three goes to buy it. When you have it on your phone under menu, applications you then enable it and change the settings. What a god send. I nearly missed a really important job 'cos I didn't here text coming in and didn't check phone and had 5 minutes to accept the job. So you can change the settings to get a visual reminder and an alert tone for calls and texts, or just texts. You you can set it to say 15mins and then set the warning tone as long as you want.

Message conversations cause iphone message alert problems

When we have active imessage conversations on the mac (using mountain lion of course) niether of our iphones get alerts when a messge comes in. We are not sure but it appears messages from other people (ie not the same apple id) are not bringing up alerts either. When I erase all conversations things return to normal. Surely this cant be how it is meant to work because someone using my mac can lock up the ability of all our phones to give alerts. Anyone else noticed this???

The only way to do that is to make a backup of the old phone with the coversations on it and restore to the new phone. Understand that anything that has been done on the new phone and since that backup has been done would be lost. A restore would make the new phone look like the old phone.

5530 Message Alert Problem

My 5530 is no longer alerting me that i have a message, there is no sound, no pop up message and no symbol at the top of the phone, the only was of knowing i have a message is to go in to the messge menu and look for the start next to the inbox. The rest of the phone is find, alerts me normally when recieving calls.
I have tried restoring to factory setting, hard reset and reinstalling but nothing seams to work.

Check your profile in use, it may be set to not alert you for messages. Go to Menu>Settings>Personal>Profiles. Select your current profile and choose personalize. At the bottom of the list there should be an "alert for:" field. Check that.

Text message alert- turn off or modify

In spite of some other comments on this topic, it is not easy to find how to modify the text message alert in the E71 manual. I have been awakened several times by amber alerts during the night. When I tried to find how to turn off the message alert in the manual, I could not find it. I emailed Nokia and the following (modified a little) is what I received:
To turn off or change text message alert tone:
In response to your concern, we would like to inform you that you can change the message alert tone of your device.
Please refer below for the steps:
1. Select Menu
2. Select Tools
3. Select Profiles and to change the message tone
4. Select current profile if not already selected
5. Select Options
5. Select Personalise
6. Select Message alert tone (page to off or vibrate if preferred)
Problem solved! I hope this helps some of you having the same problem.

I can't find the new text message alerts for every person - help!

As I frequently check the Apple website, I visited the iOS 4.2 download site. It said that you get custom text tones and 17 new sounds.
So I updated to get the new things. But then I checked Settings to see the new alerts and what they sounded like. But I only found the same old Tri-tone, glass, horn, etc. There were no new ones.
So I checked Phone, but there was no custom text message alert option.
Am I the only one experiencing this problem? I have an 8 month old iPhone 3GS and it works great.
I am also suspecting that it could be an iPhone 4-only deal.Which would be ridiculous because I would be really upset to see that Apple only cares about the people who cash in their hard-earned bucks on every new Apple gizmo they set eyes on.

I understand that it has been answered and has been said that it is for the iPhone 4 only; however, on their website it does not specify that, this is exactly what it states:
"Messaging with text tones
Know who’s texting without looking at your screen. Choose from 17 new alerts and assign custom tones for people in your contact list.
iPhone only."
If I am not mistaken, "iPhone only" includes every iPhone generation to which 4.2 can be installed in, not just the iPhone 4. If it is in case for the 4 only, then they should have specified and not made a misleading advertisement about it since every iPhone user has been waiting for new tones of any sort since the first iPhone ever came out. Making it available for only iPhone 4 users is a very fowl move from Apple since it's such a basic thing to the phone itself. They should address the issue correctly and make it available for the 3G and 3GS.
Apple just asked for angry customers with this one and they definitely know it's not fair.

I have a VB6 open Crystal Reports using Crystal Reports XI R2 (SP5) and almost every time I open a report, I get an alert message about the table has been changed and I have to click "Ok" to make it goes away. Is there a way to disabled this alert or set default to "Ok" so I do not have to click this message every report. Thank you very much.

You must verify if the database has changed so you can't disable the message. CR must match what the DB is using or the reports will fail or return wrong data.
It's odd that even after verifying the DB in the designer your app still needs it to be verify the report. You did save the report correct?

Is the report creation engine and you should be using craxdrt.dll. You need to be licnesed to use craxddrt.dll and this may cause problems for you later when deploying.
Use:

Dim Report As CRAXDRT.Report
The mapping is not a switch you can turn on or off but it is Event driven. You need to add code to the viewer section to capture the event if the mapping event fires. Then you can set it to the way you want to use it.
I suggest you purchase a case on line and get to the Report Design team to figure out why when you verify the report your app still thinks it needs to be verified. Something going on in your report that the forum makes it difficult to debug the problem. You can't attach files to forums.

Text Alert problem

Since upgrading to IOS 6 last night I only intermittently get alert when a text comes in. Does anyone have similar problem or fix. Also what is 'Lock Sounds' in settings/sounds?

there is nothing you can do to go back to ios 5.1.1....thats why i went and bought another 4s with the old software....we dont know how long this sound alert problem is going to continue...it could be months before they come out with a new update fix....believe me, i spent 4 hours on the phone with apple support and we could not find a fix for this problem......i guess as more and more people call in they will realize that this is a real problem and not just random.....also they have employess who do nothing other than read these forums, so the more people who write about this issue they will recognize there is a problem with the message sound alert....

8310 4.5 upgrade - no message alert tone

I upgraded my 8310 with the 4.5 software and ever since I have not been able to get my message alert tone to work, I have gone into profiles advanced menu and checked nothing as been changed except I dont get the tone?
Can anyone help!
I also had a message at the time of the upgrade informing me a fatal error had been made, but everything seems ( with the exception of above) to be working?

Well that's probably your problem. It seems to me that upgrading to 4.5 is producing strange little problems for lots of people. I gather you downloaded a 4.5 from a carrier other than your own? In my opinion I would revert back to my original OS and wait for my carrier to release it. But if you don't want to wait I suggest you downgrade to the last OS from your carrier and then try the upgrade again.

Message alert repetition

Hi, I currently have a samsung phone which has the feature of being able to set the message alerts to repeat every 2 minutes until you look at the message. Does anyone know if any Nokia phones do this as I can't seem to find any info on this on the product pages. I have had a nokia in the past and much preferred it to my samsung but find the message alert repetition really handy as I was always missing texts. Thanks for your help.

We had one such Motorola in our office at a time. The problem with these phones with their repeated reminders is that they are usually preffered by people that tend to "forget" a bit.
A good example is when they forget their phones at their desks while they are out of the office for a while.
Let me end it by saying that after about 12 minutes the person would have read the message if he was able to catch the phone when it was chucked out the window (on the 4th floor). But I guess that message (and phone) ended up unread.

Message Alert tone/ringtone stopped working?

My iPhone's message alert tone/ringtone has stopped working. My iphone4 firmware has been upgraded
to 5.1.1. i've also reset the phone, but it didn't resolve the issue. Pls. Help... thanks...

My alerts sounds work briefly after a restart. Then at some point (can't say how much time passes with certainty) they no longer work. The volume adjustment sound is gone as well as the alert sounds such as an incoming mail message.
A restart temporarily returns the sounds. I've zapped PRAM but that doesn't solve the problem.

Hi All:
I have configured CCMS at my XI system with an auto-reaction method to send emails when an alert is triggered, and It works ok, I receive the emails.
My problem is that just a few of the 'Error code' messages are becoming 'Message alerts by Error Codes'.
Can anyone help me?

IPhone 3GS making random text message alerts but no message received

Since yesterday morning my iPhone 3GS (running iOS 4.2) has started randomly making the text message alert noise but no new message has been received. I've also go no other new push notifications which could have been using the same sound either. At the moment it's about 2-3 of these bizare alerts a day with no set pattern of when and where.
Any ideas what could be the problem and how to fix it?

This sounds very much like a physical fault inside the phone - short or loose component. You really have no option but to get it looked at under warranty

E65 small message alert font

I recently purchased a nokia e65 phone. Ive noticed the message alert box is so small you dont really know that youve received a message. somehow out of luck while fidding around with it a larger box appeared at the bottom of the screen. unfortunately i somehow managed to lose this setting and it has again gone back to the very small writing in the line above the "no cal entried for today" line, for a new message received. can anyone help me who may have encountered this same problem please. ive gone through the whole manual and there is no help in relation to this. its driving me crazy, given Im so used to it on my previous phone.

The last name first name display for contact in the SMS inbox is completely retarded. If you enter a contact into your contact list with their entire name in the 'first name' field, then the SMS inbox will display a message from that person with first name last name. That's good.
But if you put the contact's first name in the first name field, and their surname in the last name field, the inbox will display them in last name first name order. That's just dumb. And btw this is all with the contact list set to show first name last name.
How can there be no setting to change this? So annoying.

Why does the message alert tone repeats itself more than once?

every once in a while my message alert tone repeats itself while a message is delivered. if i switch off and switch on the problem gets resolved only for a while.

Check your Settings > Notifications > Messages > Repeat Alert ?
