Message and queue

Hi,
Iam not clear with the concept of message and queue in XI, can anybody please tell how the message and queue are related and what are the inbound and outbound queues?
Thanks.

Hi Lou,
A queue in XI, is very similar to your real-life one, where messages are in the status, for inbound( coming into XI) or outbound( leaving XI) processing. The queues in XI can be seen in ur transaction smq1 and smq2. Please go through these documents to understand better.

  • Message splitting-- Queue stopped when no message created for one interface

    Hi all,
I think you saw one post regarding this issue in SDN, but I can't find the post any more.
So, I have message splitting (it's multiple mappings to map one outbound msg to multip inbound msgs, not one mapping to map 1 to n. This is because of our own reason, but should not affect the analysis of the issue) to split one message to multiple. It works fine if the outbound message contains data for every inbound interface. However if the outbound message does NOT contain data for any one inbound message, there is an error in MONI and all subsequently splitted messages will not be passed in IE. The error in MONI says Split mapping created no messages, and Queue status turns to be Queue Stopped, and thus all the subsequently splitted messages are stuck in the queue.
Why this? and how to solve this problem?
    Thanks
    Jayson

    Hi Jyson,
what i analyse from this is you may be using different maapings and different inbound interfaces
but your receiver is the same and hence you are using only one interface determination with all the   interface mappings specified there...
if this is the case..i suggest you remove the "maintain order at runtime "
tick in that interface detemination and it will surely work
giving points is another way to say thanks

  • Get information about Subscribed Consumer and messages in queue

    Hi,
I use a library that allow to set a set of consumers. They read messages I send. I check if the consumers are subscribed through "Open Message Queue Administration Console". Through Broker->Destinations I found the consumer under the correct destination I find the consumers with the message in queue, state and other information. I would like to obtain these information programmatically.
Could someone link me an example?
    Thanks, bye bye.

  • Relationship between message, sequence and queue

    Hello Colleagues,
    I am new to PI.
I want to know the relationship between PI Message,Queue (bgrfc) and sequecne.
In sxmb_moni i could see all these enteirs in technical view, but what I am not sure how sequnce and queue works exactly.
Kindly explain or refer the related links.
    -Siva

    Hi,
thanks for advice, now It works correct. But I have another problem with connection between comboboxes and planning sequences (functions). Do you know any way how to take the values of variables back to comboboxes. Its opposite way.
For better understanding I execute planning sequnce and for this sequence I want to use reversible binding. I want to use in planning function (in planning sequence) one variable for characteristic "VERSION" and I want to copy from VERSION 1 to VERSION 2. So I have in combo for char. Version value 1 and I want to after execution of planning sequence change the value in combo to 2.  Do you have any experience?? This is typical for copy between versions.
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regard.

  • Queued messages and failover

We have producers producing messages and sending them out to a queue and we want to receive and process them in the order they were sent. So we have a single queue with a single MDB consuming them. However, I'm worried about what happens when the queue and MDB hosting server goes down.
In particular, the producers cannot retry their messages programatically a) because that might lead the messages to being sent out of order (a retried message appearing after one that succeeds the first time) and b) because the producers are third-party code that just doesn't handle failure well. So how do we allow producers to keep producing messages and ensure in-order delivery during the time it takes to manually migrate the queue from the failed server to another server?
              Thanks,
              =Jeremy=

    Hi Jeremy,
One possibility is to introduce intermediate queues on the same servers
that are also running the producers. The producer's
queue will then always be locally available. Messaging
bridges (or MDBs) could be used to forward
the intermediate queue's messages to their final
              destinations.
Another possibility is to automate the
fail-over using an HA framework such as Veritas. This
may speed up the fail-over enough for your purposes.
Yet another possibility is to design your MDB app to
              tolerate duplicate messages (in typical
designs producers that retry on failure
do not cause out-of-order, instead they cause duplicates).
This is easier said than done, but there are apps that do this.

  • When do VI and queue references become invalid?

    Hi all,
I have a fairly complicated problem, so please bear with me.
    1)  I have a reentrant SubVI (let's call it VI "Assign") that has an input cluster of (VI ref, queue ref) (let's call the cluster type "Refs").  If the VI ref is invalid (first execution), the VI ref and queue ref are assigned values and are passed on as an output cluster of same type.  (The VI does other things too, but for simplicity only this is important.)
    2)  The VI that calls VI "Assign" (let's call it VI "Store") is not reentrant and has a local variable of type "Refs" that is wired to the input and output of VI "Assign".  This VI effectively stores the references.  The references returned by VI "Assign" are always valid right after the call, but after the problem condition described below, they are invalid at the start of all calls before they are passed to VI "Assign".
    3)  VI "Store" is called by multiple non-reentrant VIs, so the local variables of VI "Assign" retain their values (Has been tested and verified to retain their values).  The VI causing the problem in this case is a template VI of which multiple copies are launched (let's call it VI "Template").
The problem is that the moment an instance of VI "Template" is closed, the queue reference becomes invalid, although the actual variant value of the reference remains the same.  The VI ref can become invalid or not, depending on small changes, but is always reproducible.  I assume there must be some similarity between VI and queue refs.  After spending some time researching, the Labview help states for the Open VI Ref component "If you do not close this reference, it closes automatically after the top-level VI associated with this function executes."  In this case I assumed it means that the moment the reentrant VI "Assign" finishes, the references will get cleared ??  So I made a non-reentrant VI (let's call it VI "NR Assign") that only assigns values to the references and VI "Assign" now calls this VI (It effectively does what I described VI "Assign" does).  I keep this VI alive by using it in a VI which never terminates and since it never terminates, the references should never become invalid.  Anyone still following?  This didn't solve the problem though.  If I reproduce the same scenario using only one instance of the template VI, it works just fine.  Furthermore, the VI and queue references are never closed, to aid analysis of the problem.  Can anyone shine some light on what happens when a template VI terminates?  Could this be the problem?
Unfortunately I cannot include the code.
Thank you whoever is able to make sense of this.

All LabVIEW refnums do get deallocated automatically when the top-level VI in whose hierarchy the refnum was created goes idle (stops executing). You will have to make sure that the creation of a refnum is done inside a VI hierarchy that stays running for the entire time you want to use that refnum.

  • Transaction Posting Confirmation Message and Action Listener behaviour

Hi, I have a scenario that a user is Posting a Transaction and when he press the “Post” Button a, confirmation dialog box should popup asking “Do you really want to Post the record ?”. If the user press “Yes” the record is further process and If the user press “No” then the transaction should not proceed.
I have implemented the main screen(PostTransaction.java) and the popup confirmation window(ConfirmationWindow.java)
Question 1 ) Why the code is not stoping in the Post Button Action listener as in JOptionPane, then how do i know that the user has selected "Yes" or "No" ?
Question 2) Do I have to write the code for posting of a Transaction(postTransaction() method) in the “ConfirmationWindow”? or it should be in “PostTransaction”.

The MII Message listener is a queue. But when I understand you correctly, you do not want to process the messages immediately after arriving in the Listener.
Maybe the categorization of messages is an option for you (see [Sap Help: Processing Rule Editor - Category|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm]. You can enter a category for the control recipe messages. The messages will then be placed in the Listener queue. You can use the [Message Services|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm] actions to read the categorized messages and process them as you need.
In addition to Manoj, you may also use the [Queueing actions|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm] of MII, where you can queue xml contents.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to see Error Messages in Queue

    Hi All:
how can we see/check the Queue in XI. Suppose I created one Queue in XI, and sending 10 message to XI. Because of some reason lets say Mapping Error occured in 5 messages and 5 are successfully sent. Now how can I chek these in
    Queue rather then in MONI.
    Thanks
    Farooq.

    Hi Farooq,
Allow me to elaborate your question a bit ...
What is important here is what kind of Quality of service you are using .
Say for instance of if it is EO then ..
you can see the error in in moni ...and you can click on the queue name there ...
and it will take you to aapropriate queue ...where you can drill down further and see the reason of failure.
And if your QOS is EOIO ...then any failure in a single message will not allow the subsequent messages to get processed ..
There you can drill down to the actual message .....which has failed ..take appropriate action ...(deleting it from the queue)..
unlock ,reactivate the queue if needed..
so that the subsequent messages get processed..
    Regards,
    Deepak

CANNOT PRINTING FROM WINDOWS 7 TO MY PHOTOSMART c7180 ALL-IN-ONE (I CAN SEE MESSAGES IN QUEUE)?

    Hi,
I think you need to remove the queue. Please try:
hold down the Windows key and press R.
from the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
if the machine asks for Admin you have to accept this,
look down to the print spooler service, right click it and select properties
        click on the Stop button,
        browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers
delete the job inside this folder
        reboot the machine

  • Configure Monitoring of a MSMQ private queue Messages in Queue counter

    Hi
I have a workgroup server that is not part of my local domain.
I have contented the server to my local SCOM 2012 R2 server and it is working fine.
My SCOM server has MSMQ 6.0 & 6.3  MP's installed.
On the remote servers I have some MSMQ 6.0 private queues.
When I am trying to monitor one counter in 1 queue , when the threshold is reached I am getting error message on al the queues.
On the performance counter tab I have :
    Object: MSMQ Queue
    Counter : Messages In Queue
    Instance :[server name'\private$\error
There were 1207 messages in this queue .
I Got about 30 messages and error on all queues.
What did I do wrong ?

  • Net.Msmq Binding Not Picking Up Messages in Queue as soon as the application pool gets recycled

    Hi,
We are trying to implement a wcf service that exposes a net.msmq endpoint.  We are running windows server 2008 R2/IIS 7.5 running on a DOMAIN mode.
    1. Our service is called service.svc and it is deployed under an application called Test in the default website (application pool running under network service)
    2. The url to reach the service webpage is http://machinename/Test/service.svc.
    3. We created a private queue called Test/service.svc and we configured permissions for network service to full control.
Now, when the application pool is "alive" the service picks up the messages correctly, but as soon as the application pool gets recycled (because of timeout or any other reason), the service stops picking up the messages, that just sit in the queue until the service starts again by browsing to the service webpage (http://machinename/Test/service.svc)
I know this is a popular question, but I already tried several solutions with no luck (for example, we triedhttp://keithelder.net/blog/archive/2009/06/03/fix-for-wcf-netmsmqbinding-not-picking-up-messages-in-queue.aspx,http://www.codewrecks.com/blog/index.php/2009/03/17/hosting-a-wcf-service-based-on-msmq-in-iis7/,http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wcf/thread/a1df55c4-e642-442a-9057-f0aec278d10c/ and other ones)
    Any Help?

    Hi Steven,
I am Alessandro's colleague, I am working with him on these net.msmq issues.
Our configuration includes a transactional queue called Test/Service.svc (unauthenticated,
we shut down all security for the moment...does it matter?) and these attributes on the service:
    [ServiceContract]
    public interface IService
    [OperationContract(IsOneWay=true)]
    void ProcessMyMessage(MyClass parameter);
    [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerCall, TransactionIsolationLevel = IsolationLevel.Serializable, TransactionTimeout = "00:03:00")]
    public class Service: IService
    [OperationBehavior(TransactionScopeRequired = true, TransactionAutoComplete = true)]
    public void ProcessMyMessage(MyClass parameter)
    //Do some stuff here
The service is hosted on IIS 7.5 under an application called Test (so that the full http address of the service is http://machine/Test/Service.svc).
In the configuration (for both client and service) we specified None for the security mode, "true" value in durable and exactlyOnce
The Net.msmq Listener Adapter windows service is running fine under the Network Service account (the same as our application pool)
Is there something we are missing?
Also, can you explain how a transaction not configured properly can create this behaviour? In my understanding the process of delivering a message happens in 3 steps (I remember a nice picture of this the Juval Lowy book):
    1) Transaction 1: client delivers message to local instance of msmq. The transaction rolls back if the message does not get delivered.
    2) Transaction 2: the local instance of msmq delivers the message to the remote (service) instance of msmq. The transaction rolls back if the message does not get delivered.
    3) Transaction 3: wcf activates my service which picks up the message and process it. The transaction rolls back if the service fails to pick up the message or does not complete the transaction (for example, because of an unhandled exception).
The message gets delivered to the service machine successfully, so I am assuming that steps 1 and 2 are executed correctly. If my service was not configured to handle transaction properly, wcf should still activate it and do something with it. Or at least,
if it doesn't get activated at all, this should be the case even when the application pool is well alive and awake, because it should be a configuration problem. Instead, the service works great if the appPool is alive and it never gets activated when the
appPool is sleeping (absolute nothing in the .svclog trace file generated by the service). Am I saying something wrong?
