Message app and browser aren't functioning

I cannot open my message application all day long. It's just remains "thinking" and suddenly it closes, almost the same with the browser.
Is anyone having the same issue?

Go to Solution.

Step 1. Reboot pb by holding down On and minus volume 15secs, then try.
Step 2. Backup your data to pc then Settings, Security wipe (reinstalls OS2 from wifi.)

Not to worry Brian303. The solution is simple: You need to reinstall your OS.
Plug your phone into your PC via USB. Open Desktop Manager. If you don't have it installed, go to www.blackberry.com and look at the top for Apps & Software. The link is on that page.
Once you're plugged in and DM is running, click Device at the top and Update from the drop-down menu. You might get a prompt saying your phone is up to date. If you're actually offered an update, do it. If you're not, look down in that box to where it shows Show Other Versions. Click that and look for the OS currently installed on your phone (it should be the one at the top). Make sure that one is checked and click Update. Go grab a sandwich and wait until the update is complete. Once completed, your MMS app and browser will be present once again. Be sure not to get too excited or you might choke on your sandwich.

Issue with Messages App and disk usage

Hi there,
Has everyone ever experienced this weird bug?
Everytime I launch Messages App, my available disk space goes down almost by 15 Gb, making my hard drive instantly full, and my computer unusable.
The only solution I found is to force quit Messages App, and never use it again
I have a MacBook Retina, that I bought a month ago.
It's been working super fine since I got it, apart from that stupid bug that appeared two days ago.

I would start with a PRAM reset
Shut down the computer.
Restart it holding down Apple/CMD ( or ⌘)+ALT( ⌥)+P+R Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
DO you have notion of how many Conversations Messages may be trying to show in the left hand column of the Message window ?
(Saves Messages and the iMessages database are already held on the computer so I don't really see this as the issue)

Bridge Message app and Torch (AT&T) continuous startup loop.

So this bug has been with me from receipt of the tablet. First versions: PB is 1.0.3.1868, Torch is AT&T bundle 2342, Bridge is 1.0.0.83.
Has anyone experienced the following transitional Messages behavior?
You successfully make the Bridge connection and all Bridge sub-apps (as I call them) work as expected. So Messages, Contacts, Bridge Browser, Calendar, BBM, MemoPad, Tasks and Bridge Files are just fine. Then typically within 48 hours of use I will launch the Messages while connected to my Torch and the app attempts to launch and I'll see the beginnings of the 2 panes with the spinning green circle spinning and then screen goes grey with no panes showing for 2 seconds and then back to that same app start screen with the panes and the spinning green circle and then back to grey screen again over and over.
I've attempted the hard starts, soft starts, Bluetooth connection rebuilds, Bluetooth MAP options that, Bridge rebuilds and the like associated with the Bridge error messages people have been posting and none solve the issue.
The only way I've found to get Messages working again is to use the Desktop Manager Update method effectively blowing out the tablet and rebuilding from scratch. Also if I do this update method AND restore my backup I get exactly the same problem.
I hope someone may have at least experienced this and I'm not losing my mind.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

ok so i found a way to make my messages work on the bridge what i did was a security wipe on my playbook wiping everything to default status i had downloaded the blackberry bridge app from this forum http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/Get-BlackBerry-Bridge-for-your-BlackBerry...
so after downloading the bridge on the blackberry 9800 i waited for the security wipe on the playbook, when done it will update it'sself done. it will ask you to setup the bridge
and you just press continue scan the barcode to link them together and done they are linked
ok blackberry messenger i deleted the messenger via desktop manager from the 9800 then installed the original version i again updated via app world new version so the app can appear on the playbook and bingo everything works bbm has a bit of problems since you have to click it like 6 times until the **bleep** thing stops crashing and finally kicks in so that is a problem.

Messages app and transcripts archive

Why can I not find a way to view my past chat transcripts using the Messages app?? This should be a very very basic command yet I can't seem to find it anywhere. I often need to refer back to old discussions. Am I blind and cannot see this option right under my nose or what??
I can manually open finder, set finder to display my "Library" folder, then browse to:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iChat/Data/Library/Messages/Archive/{date}/{trans cript}.ichat
I would think I should just be able to right click a users icon and get the option to "view archived messages" or something to that effect.

I still use this page as Messages is iChat under the hood and the Numbering system continued where iChat left off.
However this page was never that good at keeping up with iChat versions (It still does not list iChat 6 and the OS Versions are updated from another list of pages that list the OS versions)

Push notifications from Messages App and other apps

Hello!
I've got my first Blackberry (Bold 9790), I have a problem: I don't know what I did before during set up etc. but now I have always doubles push notifications, for exemple, if I receive a message on Whatsapp I get a notification from Whatsapp App and from the Messages app, same for Facebook etc this is annoying me a lot, how can I restore Messages to show me notifications only for SMS and e-mails??? Or how can I get only one notification for all things happen and not receive notifications twice? thank you!!

UPDATEIn Whatsapp I unpluggged th eoption "show chat in the messages folder" and now when I get a new Whatsapp message, in the home screen I get the notification from the app (and not from Messages) but without the preview?!

Remote app and Browsing Albums

So, I installed the Remote app directly onto the iPod Touch and set it up with no problems. Within a minute I was able to download, install, browse, and actually control my iTunes library!
I found one snag. I would like to use the Album browse feature, but I see problems with it. One good specific example is the album "Genius Loves Company" (GREAT ALBUM). when I'm browsing my library through this app, the album shows up 12 times and each instance only has one track in it. So, I can only play one song at a time and then the player stops. Very annoying.
Has anyone else seen this? If so, anyone know a fix/workaround?

Hmm odd one. My first thought here is there's possibly some glitch in the way that Album's files are tagged.
Try this:
Fire up iTunes. Click on 'music' under the Library. Highlight all the tracks in that album in the main window. Go to File -> Get info (answer 'yes' to the pop-up question about editing multiple items). Under the 'info' tab, re-type the name of the album into the 'album' field, and Hit 'OK'. This will resolve any discrepancies re the tagging of the album name.
Fire up remote again and browse to that album, see if it's fixed the issue.

N8 double spaces in social app and browser text wi...

I experience double spaces for every space typed when entering text in Nokia Social and browser text entry windows. It never happens when texting or using e-mail.
Anyone have a solution?

On my N8, I also get the same thing (double spaces using the Ovi Social app, and I think in the Nokia browser too).
It is really annoying. I have not (yet) contacted Nokia regarding this issue.

Messages.app and Yahoo account no workie?

I don't really use my yahoo accound for texting, but it's still kind of frustrarting to find that messages.app rejects my (valid) password at login, and is the only OS X application I've noticed doing so... So does anyone know how to fix this malfunction, though?

I deleted my Messages app, and don't know how to restore it.

I was having trouble getting my Messages app to open, and so used AppCleaner to delete it, thinking I could just re-download it. I can't find a way to re-download it, so I'm currently stuck without the app. Any suggestions to get it back? I'm running the latest version of Mountain Lion.

Boot up holding command-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
The screen should give you these choices...
Restore from TM backup
Reinstall Mac OS X
Get help online
Disk Utility
Choose Reinstall OS X. This will be an install "in place" and shouldn't effect any of your own data or settings.

Macbook Pro's keyboard and trackpad aren't functioning well, please help, thank you!

Dear Apple Support and Apple Communities,
hopefully this question will be easily understood and will be answered with answers that can help, useful and beneficial. I will explain the problem, story that I guess began the problem, specs and information of the Notebook and so on.
I love products produced by the brand, Apple, but they can get broken, ruined or destroyed. So, I do try my best to take care of devices that I have well. Although, my father bought a Macbook Pro last year, around November or December, 2013(I THINK). I don't think it's very old, maybe 3 - 5 months, but it should be in a good condition. I have dropped it many times, hopefully that won't effect the problem. Now, the problem, the Notebook is a beautiful device that I would love to keep using, but I don't really know how to use it properly and in the CORRECT/RIGHT/GOOD/SAFE way. If possible, can you list methods/ways to do those things? If so, thank you! Anyway, back to the topic, the Notebook's keyboard has a problem, some keys aren't responding, especially the alphabets/letters, I guess some other keys worked because I did the PRAM RESET. Anyway, the trackpad is also not functioning well, sometimes, when I right click the trackpad or when I click the entire surface with one finger(RIGHT CLICK OR SOMETHING ELSE), it would left click, I found a way to fix is, put the Notebook to sleep by closing the cover, hopefully that's alright. Anyway, it all began, I guess, when I was brushing my teeth. I dislike to waste time, so I used the Notebook and brushed my teeth simultaneously. I guess Saliva was being produced because of the acidic substance(TOOTHPASTE)? Anyway, my mouth had a lot of liquid in it, could have been Saliva, water and toothpaste. So, Physics, natural forces, Gravitational force occurred, some of the liquid left my mouth and onto the keyboard. I didn't panic because I think I heard that keyboard could not or did not suck in a lot of liquid, but I did clean it up. Anyway, the Notebook including the keyboard and trackpad were functioning like normal. I guess after three hours, something happened to the Notebook. I think I was using Safari in FULLSCREEN MODE and suddenly an application or software for another application appeared. It was requesting permission for an update, I think. I updated it and suddenly, the Notebook went haywire. Probably not immediately, but I guess the Notebook did go haywire. I tried searching for ways to fix it, but not much could fix or solve the problem. Hopefully your answer-s will fix or solve the problem, thank you.

The Notebook has a few dents, I guess. I tried to open the keys to check for toothpaste or liquids. My brother told me that toothpaste is dense, probably the answer? My other brother told me that the keyboard and/or trackpad are/is "shocked"(LIQUID AND ELECTRICITY, NOT SUCH GOOD COMBINATIONS). Hopefully this is enough to be counted as detailed and informative. IPhone 3G's Watch app and time setting not functional

Hi guys. I have this little problem with my iPhone 3g 2.1. It won't open the Watch app, nor the "Date & Time" in the general settings. Everytime I try to open any of 'em, it just simply returns to home screen. Anyone got this problem? How do you solve it? Thanks.

Try a reboot (described below).
Think of it this way, the iPhone is more of a computer than a phone. It suffers from being a new OS and nobody can deny there are not bugs and memory leaks. The longer left running, the more things start to fail or slow down (I have had the iPhone since day one of original phone and I am just speaking from my experience). Thus I equate it to like when Windows95 came out...not sure of your age or if you remember those days...but back then it was a running joke of how many days you can keep Windows 95 running before you had to reboot. I am sorry to say but the iPhone is the same way right now (but getting better with a few hiccups back during the 2.0 release). So for me, I reboot daily when I leave in the morning and take it off the charger. By doing so I rarely see any lag or problems.
A reset/reboot is:
Go to Home Screen
Press and Hold Home Button
Keep holding and press and hold Lock Button
Keep holding Both
You will see Slide to Turn Off (Don't let go to slide, just keep holding)
The phone will turn off (in time, but screen will look like it has some white lines)
Keep Holding
When you see the Apple Logo, you can let go.
Turning off via the Slide to Turn off while good and fine to turn off, is more like the Sleep Mode on a computer. Thus any locked up issues in memory remain when you turn back on. A reboot as described is like doing a real Turn off and Turn On on a computer.

Sony Xperia z3: Cant transfer messages, apps and so on

Hi! I have transfered sucessfully all my content from iPhone 5 to my Xperia z3. I used Sony Bridge for Mac doing that. It said, that in the end it would be a "pop up" on my phone giving me further instructions how to open the apps, messages on the phone - but It never came one.I can see that the content is over, because it now have 9GB less memory than before, but I have now Idea how I can come in contact with the content. Hi! Just got my Xperia z3 compact today. I have problems syncing my Messages (SMS), calendar and my bookmarks from my iPhone to it. Press continue to transfer all your chosen content, exept the ones named above" I have transfered the data again anad again (and therefore, it says that my xperia havent changed). I can't no matter how much I try to klick on the "more information-link". Nothing happens when I klick on it. Is anyone having any ideas? Sorry for all the spelling misstakes in this post.
