if u r working in forms6 take the item property sheet and give the message in tooltip
In forms 4.5 you have to create a display item and pass the message to it and change the display position(x,y)according to each icon(Note: set bevel of display item to none and fill colur with same form colour so that it looks better)

  • Attach photos as icons, not already opened?

When I attach a photo to an email, the opened photo fills the text area. I'd rather the photos show up as icons, not as already opened photos. How do I do this?

    Hello Roger.
The Mail application displays all image/photo and single page PDF attachments inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default which cannot be turned off. This applies to received and sent messages with such attachments.
You can control-click on such an attachment and select View as Icon but regardless, depending on the recipient's email client and available preference settings, such attachments may appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened by the recipient (as with the Mail application when receiving/opening a message with such attachments) or as attached files only which must be opened separately to be viewed for which the sender has no control over.
The reverse is true. Windows Outlook and OE display such attachments as attached files only (icons) but when sent to a Mail.app user, the attachments appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened.
When I switched from using Entourage to the Mail.app when Jaguar was introduced, this took a little getting used to but I prefer it since it provides confirmation that I have selected the correct photo file before the message is sent and has no determination on how such an attachment is received by the recipient.
I haven't used it but you can purchase a 3rd party plugin for the Mail.app called Mail Attachments Iconizer.

  • In Mail, how do I add an attachment as an icon?

On right-click there used to be an option to display attachment as an icon. It's gone!

You were talking about AOL in your question. My answer, however,
is the same. Look carefully at everything. On my screen, it looks like
a paper clip. Move your mouse over each icon to see what it is.
Most web pages have a drop down menus. Look at them. And check
    with the providers help screens.

Thanks for all (Ocean20 & Courcoul) who replied.
Reset the device did not help me but it does triggers me to attempt to resend the PDF file attachment on email--and it works the 2nd time.  My problem is now solved.
The Adobe Reader is very helpful--it allows me to scroll through the document easily, unlike iBooks, where I cannot scroll straight up or down.

    I'm afraid not.

If you have received an iMessage that has not been read yet, a red circle with the number of unread messages will appear in the upper right of the green messages icon.

  • Does Mail display # of new messages in the dock icon even when app is off?

I'm not sure if it does or not. I like how the new iCal icon in the dock displays the date even when the app isn't open.
I'd love if Mail would display the # of new messages in the dock icon without having to leave the application open all the time.
Otherwise, I just have to stick with Gmail Notifier.
    Thanks for any insight!
    - Jeff

you would have to leave the application opened.
    hope this helps

  • New messages in Inbox are opening with old messages attached

I recently switched from an Ibook to a MacBook Air.  Some new messages in Mail inbox are opening with old (2-5yrs) messages attached.  For example, an unopened email from Virgin Airlines opens with a work email from 2011.  Anyone know why this is happening and/or how to fix this?
    Thanks

    No ideas?

  • Filing messages erases reply/fwd icons?

When I move a message out of my inbox into a folder, the message loses the little icon showing whether I've previously replied to or forwarded the message. Is there any way to restore those icons?
-I am using Gmail with IMAP
-I realize that I can avoid this problem in the future by filing the message, then replying. However, I just sorted 100s of old inbox messages into folders and would like to regain the icons for them.
    Thanks

The folder is a part of Gmail. In preferences/accounts/advanced I set the IMAP path prefix to 'left bracket' Gmail 'right bracket' and the folder appears as 'left bracket'Gmail'right bracket'/folder.name when I access gmail through safari.**
I am set to keep "all messages and their attachments" in preferences/accounts/advanced.
Might be relevant: I have an iPhone 3GS also tied to the gmail account. I manually rebuilt the iPhone's Gmail account yesterday though, so I think I've avoided the problems associated with letting it automatically configure the account.
**Posted my reply and noticed that the brackets I used caused links to appear or something, let me know if there is a better protocol for this

Close out of the mail app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the mail app.
Then do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for your phone to boot back up.  Then check your mail again.

  • Print Mail Message attachments as an icon

Under Mountain Lion, I was able to permanently tweak Mail, so that all Attachments I received showed as icons, and when I printed the message, the attachment showed as an icon.
Under Mavericks, I can right click an attachment, so that it shows on screen as an icon, but when I print the message, it prints the full attachment, which I don’t want.
How can I print a message, with the attachment printing as an icon?

  • Attaching photos as icons in mail

Is it possible to set up mail to attach photos and pdf's as icons automatically? It is a real pain to have to convert each one individually.
    Martin

    Hello Martin.
Not without a 3rd party plugin for Mail.
You do know this has no effect whatsoever on how the attachments appear when the message is opened by the recipient?
When selecting View as Icon for an attachment that appears inline or viewed in place within the body of the message and sending it this way to a Mail.app user, the attachment will appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened by the recipient.
Unless you use HTML with embedded images or objects in the message body, the sender of a message has no control over how attachments appear when the message is opened by the recipient. This is determined by the recipient's email client.
