  • IPad label and "open in messages" feature in iPhone 6 Plus

I was looking to add an iPad label to the contact information on the iPhone 6 Plus, but there is no iPad label unless custom made. Also when the label is created, there is no "open in messages" feature. Can an iPad label and "open in messages" feature be added to iPhone 6 plus contact card?

    Hi jmhodson23,
What happens when you try to open the documents?  It looks like they should open in Pages.

    Pages ’09 (4.0 or later)
Microsoft Word - Office Open XML (.docx) and Office 97 or later (.doc)

  • Is it possible to sync text messages between 2 iPhones

OK this is a long shot but I figure if you guys cant help then no one can.
Basically i have 2 iPhones, an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 6. Im a bit fussy and can't decide which i prefer to use so i sometimes swap my SIM card from one iPhone to the other. However, by doing this i never have an 'up to date' set of text/iMessages. is there any way to have the same up to date messages on both handsets so when i swap phones i have all my messages?
    Cheers

    You can try this:
from iMessage enable your email to receive on both devices
    For SMS enable message forwarding

  • Syncing messages between two iPhones

I have been using an "illegally" unlocked 2G (I live overseas). I finally purchased a factory unlocked 3G and got it all synced with the 2G.
For whatever reason I didn't start using it straight away, so I have a buildup of messages that I would like to transfer to the 3G. I was able to sync my calendar and my contacts, but I can't seem to get the messages to move over to the 3G.
    Any tips?
    Thanks,
roxpat, who will start using the 3G immediately once this gets resolved

There are 2 ways to transfer the messages - it isn't done by syncing.
1.(Free) Backup your 2G phone and restore the 3G using the 2G backup. The downside is all the settings and app data in the 2G will replace what is in the 3G.
2.(not free) Get PhoneView and install on your Mac. This will allow you to copy virtually everything from your 2G to your Mac, then selectively copy what you want to your 3G.

  • Syncing messages between iPhone 6 and Macbook Pro

I don't seem to be able to sync messages between my iPhone 6 and my Macbook Pro (using 10.10.1).  Trying to follow the online discussion, but left scratching my head.  Help, help.

    Hi Hawgjohn,
The new continuity features with iOS 8 are awesome, but they do take some setup to work properly.  Luckily Apple has a big guide on how to set up all of the continuity features (including text messaging from your Mac) here: Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support.
Browse through that article and find the section that is relevant to your issue and follow the instructions

  • How to synch messages between ipad and iphone?

I see older info on this but nothing current: how do I synch messages between my iphone and ipad?  Only some of them synch, and not necessarily only those sent from other iphones. I'm using OS7.

The new info is the same as the old info. Nothing has changed.
You have to use the iPhone number as the contact address on both devices. Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at. You have to select the phone number in there for both devices.
Try signing out of Messages on both devices and start all over again. Settings>Messages>iMessage>Off. Restart both devices and then turn Messages on again on both devices starting with the phone.
Messages only work with other iOS devices and Mac computers running Mountain Lion or Mavericks.

how do I stop sync of messages between my iphone 4S and my daughter's iphone 4 and my other daughters mac book pro as they are all under my account for payment purposes

Photos will Not go between iPad & iPhone..they have to go thro' iCloud as a provider or sync via your computer individually...you need Wireless on both or a direct USB connection..
On each iPad and iPhone you can initialize via the Summary/Photos when they are connected via iTunes..

  • Iphone 6 Plus is not syncing music properly

I now have the iPhone 6 plus 128 gig. I have enough room to have all my music on it. The music won't sync properly. I put al my my music on it and only half made it. The iPhone shows the artist and title and even the songs. The songs are greyed out and are not there. I called apple support and they seem perplexed. I was handed off to the second tier technician who had me check the "manually manage music and video" check box. That seemed to work. He said I would have to manually add any new music. Today I purchased a couple of CD's, ripped them to iTunes and was not able to include them to the iPhone. The iPhone shows the music but the songs are greyed out.

    Hi Bev.Hutchinson,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing, and/or your current configuration with your devices. If you are having issues syncing Notes between your iPhone 6 Plus and your iPad Air, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • MacBook Pro 15 inch 2013 late not pairing with iPhone 6 Plus

I have Yosemite and have iPhone 6 Plus running latest OS updates. Whenever I tried to pair my iPhone through Bluetooth (for Hand-off or Continuity application to work), the connection status in both devices go "Not Connected" mode. I have done SMC reset, deleted the Bluetooth plist file as mentioned in some blogs.
Not sure what is the step I may be missing.
FYI, I had the same issue several months back with my iPhone 5 which got resolved with the deletion of plist file. Now the same magic do not seem to work.
    Appreciate valuable input

    Hello ramachandranfromchennai,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you wish to use Handoff and Continuity features between your iPhone 6 Plus and MacBook Pro. There is no need to pair your iPhone with your Mac like you would with a bluetooth mouse or keyboard. As long as your system meets all of the applicable requirements and is setup correctly, you should be good to go:
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht6337
    To use Handoff:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices.
Turn on Bluetooth on all the devices you want to use. Make sure your devices are near each other.
Connect all your devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
    Cheers,
    Matt M.

  • I have three iPads and one iPod and one iPhone.  How can I message between them without sending the message to all of them.  You send the message to your email address but all of them are set up und one account.

I have three iPads and one iPod and one iPhone.  How can I message between them without sending the message to all of them.  You send the message to your email address but all of them are set up under one account.

You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.

  • How do I fix the compatibility issue between my iPhone 4S with iOS 7 and my Pioneer car stereo? There was no problem with iOS 6, but now I get a message saying "this device is not compatible" and so I can't use Netflix for example. How do I fix it?

This is a typical response from the manufacturer. Did you try the fix that Lawrence mentioned. When Apple or any other phone manufacturer update phone software, they have the latest Bluetooth installed. It is usually the problem with the radio manufacturer that they devices are using the older Bluetooth protocols. You can try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581 and see if anything there helps, but generally it requires the radio manufacturer to update their firmware.

  • Syncing Messages between iPhone 5(iOS 6.0.1) and Mac (OS X 10.8.2)

I am using imessage/messages on my iPhone 5, iMac, and Macbook Pro. I have the latest OS installed on each, email address set on each, and it syncs between all 3 devices as far as sending and receiving messages, but when I delete messages, I have to do it individually on all 3 devices. Is there any way to get my messages deleted an all 3 devices at once, in other words, sync the deleting funtion?

Not that I'm aware of. I've always manually deleted message from each device.

  • Messaging between BB and iPhone works but not between BB and iPhone.

I have an iPhone and an iPad 2.  I am able to exchange messages between my daughter's Blackberry and my iPhone but when I try to send a message to her BB from my iPad I get a message stating that her phone number is not registered with iMessage.  Can someone explain why this app works on one device but not on the other.
    Paul9491

That's right.  iMessage on iPad ONLY works on other iOS devices, like iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, running iOS 5 or higher.  If you want to be able to text non-iOS users, there are apps for that, such as TextFree.
