Message Bug?

Hello everyone, currently i'm facing a problem on my nokia 6680
Firstly it all started around last month, not sure when, but it all starts that i can't receive message(i could but i need to turn on and off in order to receive it)
then today, another error occured, when i received a message(I think it's something about memory card inaccessible or somewhat), it immediately changed my memory in use from memory card to phone memory, i tried to change it back, but its not working( I have around 100mb free spaces in my memory card and thats a lot). It didn't say "can't change to memory card" or something, it did say "Changing to memory card" and it shows a progress bar, then after that it still remainds the same. It didn't change the memory in use in the "Messaging Option>Others" option. I hope you can help me. I just can't change the memory in use somehow. That's my only problem now.

Depends on the cause of the problem. If it is indeed a problem with the memory card then only way is to replace it. If the problem i caused by a software glitch in the phone then you could try more resets. If it is a hardware problem with the phone then you need to send it to the Nokia Care Point.

N97 Nokia Messaging bug

I'm using Nokia Messaging on the N97. I've noticed a bug. When I choose the menu which lets you switch between different email accoutns, pressing the screen brings up the menu as you would expect, however pressing the screen again to select a particular email account does not work.
Instead I have to open the keyboard and use the D-pad instead.

I know it will be hard for you to reply but I would like to bring in your notice about Memory issue on N97. You mentioned in your post that by default it takes 2 KB for each message. When I install it on my N97 , I have 49 MB left. It was 51 before. After that It started snycronisation and memory was dropped to 41 MB after that.
My question if your statement is correct, it cannot ideally never eat so much memory. I am forced to use MFE for mail as i can limit the days to three and i think that stores the mails on Mass memory.
Now question is,
Would it be possible to use Nokia Messaging for us ?? Do you think wtih 10 MB used by Nokia Messaging on N97 is affordable while N97 is already a victim of Nokia negligence regarding hardware part.

That repeating message bug

First of all, don't reply to this Steve!
Couldn't Steve, aka SDA, be prevailed on to use the web interface he doesn't like, just until the repeating message thing is sorted.
Surely there must be enough data now to find the cause of the problem!

Mail 3.4: New Message Bug

Apple Mail (Version 3.4 928/928.1) still fails, then the button "New Message" does not show the *New Message window*, I noticed that this Bug occurs only if you set more than one mail accounts, Following the log from console.

I am having a similar problem with 10.5.6 and the newest Mail app.
My IMAP accounts with the provider www.dotster.com, who seem to be using the open source 'Horde' as their server, seem to be working alright, but constantly give me the error message "The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server “mail10.dotsterhost.com” failed." even though I can receive email without issue. In general preferences I attempted increasing the number of minutes in the "Check for new mail:" setting, though this doesn't make the error go away.
In reading other threads, it seems you might try deselecting the "Use IDLE command..." checkbox, though for me these are always greyed-out and checked by default. You might also need to ensure the "IMAP Path Prefix:" is set as "INBOX". Again, this is just what I've gleaned from other threads.

FLASHING PLAYBOOK BRIDGE MESSAGES BUG GRRR AGAIN

Ok, this is the second or third time I have had to wipe and reinstall the OS on both my phone and playbook.
What is happening is when i try to open the messages app on the blackberry playbook bridge messages is it will open and then close, then reopen repeatedly. Open, close, open, close indefinitely. This seems to have started after I added music to my bold 9700 yesterday via USB. I suspect that the USB connect, disconnect process is corrupting files on the phone or playbook. If corrupt OS files are the culprit, a subroutine that identifies corrupt files in the bridge system and then works with RIM software update servers to identify, repair, and replace the corrupt files over the internet would be much better than an entire wipe. I have seen USB corrupt many files on many devices, during the attach and eject process.
Bridge messages seems to work fine and then something is causing it to fail.
EITHER WAY, IDENTIFY THIS BUG IN THE BRIDGE AND RELEASE A FIX, IF YOUR NEW BB 10 COMES OUT WITH BUGS LIKE THIS IT WILL BE VERY BAD FOR THE BOTTOM LINE.
BTW, I TOTALLY SUPPORT THE DECISION TO DELAY THE BB10.

- Blackberry Playbook 64gb Latest OS as of 7-12-12
- Mac OSX Snow Leopard Latest, 32bit mode. MBP core 2 duo 2.1ghz, 8gb ram 13" screen 2009 era.

Not sure if you have tried this. I changed the date on my playbook (one year back ) and the messages bridge worked fine. Go back and fubar again. Bummer.

IPhone Message Bug

Annoying messages bug when using mass storage to s...

As you all well know the c: drive on n97 is quite small. I have about +2000 messages on my phone and I use the 32gb mass storage to store all of my emails and sms's.
It works ok untill I connect my phone to pc using mass storage mode. The first thing it does is it says e: drive unavailable - using c: to store messages. Ok - that makes sense BUT the darn thing doesn't switch back to using e: drive when I unplug it from the computer. Instead I have to switch it back to e: manually (from sms settings and email settings). It's also impossible to move messages that I have received while using mass storage mode to the drive e:
I really hope that nokia does sth about this matter. It's the single most annoying bug that this phone has.

To answer a few questions here...
The way the mass memory is broadcast to the computer when connected in PC Suite mode is called "OBEX". It's a kind of file transfer protocol. When it's connected in "mass storage" mode it uses an industry standard usb-storage protocol exactly like pen drives, external hard drives, external CD/DVD drives etc.
The difference between the two is that in mass storage mode, the phone relinquishes control of the storage space and hands it over to the host computer. That way, the computer sees everything on that device and it also happens to be compatible with more or less every operating system under the sun. In PC Suite mode, the phone retains control of the storage space and decides what to let the computer "see". Directories that are crucial to the phone's operation, such as "private" and "system", are not shown to the computer. Added to that, the computer needs specific drivers to be able to use the OBEX protocol, and this excludes non-mainstream operating systems.
As for being able or unable to transfer messages from one area to the other, the reason is fairly simple. Messages are stored in their own directory inside the "private" directory. If, for example, there's no such directory set up on E: when you want to choose that drive for storing messages, the phone considers that it has never been used for this and therefore asks you if you want to copy your messages from C: to E: so that they're still available to you once you switch over. If, OTOH, there is already a trace of E: having been used for storing messages (ie. if the messaging directory inside E:\Private does exist) then the phone considers that you might not want to clobber what's already there and doesn't offer to replace them with what's on C:.

4S Siri Text Message Bug!

When sending a picture message and using Siri for the text dictation(microphone on keyboard) after hitting send the app crashes and returns to the home screen. The text is not sent. This is a bug.

Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore.
Has any of that been tried?
What exactly have you done to determine that a "bug" exists?
Yes, all of that. 3 phones, all 4S's do this. it's a bug. I am not a newb.

Update message bug

Hi I'm here from the french forum.
When I lauch an update for an updatable folio, I've got the folowing message. (translation from french)
"Update aviable. An update version of (empty) (empty) is aviable..."
I want to know why (empty) because my folio already got name and description and folio can't be published without. I translate (empty) from (nul). Means nothing.
French forum's MVP thinks about a bug and I'm too.

that's right, it's in our iPad Multi Issue App.
First screenshot shows our librairie and at the top left our latest folio (febuary issue) who notify that "Update aviable" (Mise à jour disponible).

I found this on Translation Center. It's same message as mine :

Messaging bug? Question Mark/Downloading pictures

Received my new iphone 6 plus in the mail last night, and it has been a bit buggy. When I receive a picture message through iMessage, it stays stuck in "downloading" and the picture thumbnail does not show. When I restart my phone, the "downloading" box turns into a "?". However, if I click on Details on the top right, I am able to see the picture. Anyone know a fix?

I think you must have been logged into itunes and downloaded a free app, and when you are already logged into your iTunes account, you will stay logged in for a period of time so that you don't have to keep entering your password. Maybe you accidentally tapped the icon for Carcassone - after already being logged into the store - and at that point - it gives you the download. I don't know why it would just say download. In the U S store, even if you select a free app and the choose a paid app, it still says buy app in the green bar.
Thanks for answering. I mean. First I had to press the "download" button (grey) , and then the green button. Normaly it's standing a price first, In the grey button. I didn't accidentally tappes the icon for Carcassone. I saw that it was just standing "download", so I though it was free. Sorry my really bad english, hope you understand

IOS 5 Messages bug in group text

Since upgrading to iOS 5, I can no longer successfully send a group message when at least one device is an iPhone/iPad etc. and at least one device is NOT an iPhone/iPad etc. When I try it, the non-iPhone devices receive a blank message. By this I don't mean that they don't receive anything but that the non-iPhone devices receive a message and it is blank.
This happens even though it shows on my iPhone that the message was sent out as a text message and not an iMessage. I reported this to AppleCare but they seemed to be confused that this is how it should be. It would seem to me that the Messages app should be smart enough to know if at least one of the recipients is not an Apple device based on the contact info category and if so, it should send the message out as a text message.

After running a few more tests I found a seemingly anti-intuitive work around.
If, in Settings for Messages under SMS/MMS, I turn off Group Messaging, the messages go through too all devices regardless of type. The problem occurred when Group Messaging was on.
So I am now confused about what Group Messaging in SMS/MMS means if I am able to send a group message successfully when this is off but not when it is on.

Nokia X3 -00 Message Bugs

After pressing the send on the message editor, nothing happens, my text message wont send and icant exit the message editor itself, i tried pressing the "end call button" to close the message editor, also by the exit editor option but neither of them woked. Also i often got the "message memory not ready". what could be the cause of this problem? tnx

Please connect your phone to Nokia Suite and update or reinstall the phone's software to resolve this issue.
Connect your phone to Nokia Suite and create a back up via Tools > Back up. Don't tick the Settings box. Once the back up has been created, please click on the green arrow icon where available updates will be displayed. If you can't see an available update, please reinstall the current software. This option is displayed in blue.
When the phone has been updated, please restore the back up via Tools > Restore.
Please get back to me if this resolves the issue, otherwise I can provide further support.

IOS Message Bug - Old Conversation appearing at top

I'm curious what's going on here. Every day when I click into the Message App it shows me the list of conversations with other people sorted by the most recent. However, something is wrong here.
I'm seeing a conversation keep appearing at the top of the list as if it just had a new recent message, with a current date/time stamp. The odd thing is that there wasn't any recent messages. The last message was from months ago, and I actually deleted the message conversation. Now every day it will find it's way back up to the top of the soft list as if something new appeared. So this blank converstation every day is brought to the top of the list.

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

POP Email Deleted Message Bug

On my work POP email account (needs to be non-IMAP) if I delete an email from the phone it shows back up as an unread email if I get a new email on any of my email accounts (but only in the hub/home screen) and it does not show up in my work email account even though it says there is an unread message.
I have to "delete from handheld and server" to stop the message from reappearing on my phone.
You're going to say the server is telling the phone it's still there. Ok, so why then does it not show up in the email account and only on the hub screen. As soon as I enter the hub the message is no longer anywhere to be found, or if I read the unread message that came in, the deleted message goes away on the home screen.
Of course when I get another new message it's there again...

I don't know if this applies to your situation, but I've noticed 2 reasons this might occur, one from personal experience and the other from reading the forums.
For me, I had trouble downloading email with pictures when I was on EDGE because as soon as I got the alert, I went to look at the email. However, if I backed up and waited a couple minutes, it had time to download the everything and I was able to view it fine.
The other problem I've seen was people complaining about this until they realized they had filled the phone with so many songs and movies, there wasn't enough room left on the phone to download the pictures.
Yours sounds like it might be the first. Give it a sec to download the whole file before opening it. If that doesn't help I'm all out of answers. Sorry!

Help screen message bug.

Hi everyone. Has anyone had this problem. the screen on me as I have one unread message, but actually I do not, and i cant remove it.

No. If you have reason to believe it's related to Google Chrome contact Google for support. Log entries such as that are intended for debugging purposes.
