Message could not be sent?!?!

Hey,
So my interent is working, im here right now and Messages wont send a message. I keep getting the red exclamtion icon for unsent message, and i get the error "your message could not be sent". What is wrong?!

I figured it out. Simple. Had to sign out, then sign back into my Messages account.

    I have a 2 server SharePoint farm.
    All outgoing emails were working fine.
    I just restarted both servers and now after that none of the emails are being sent. I am using OOB publishing workflow and it shows message:

    Even if I setup Alert on some list, it doesn't send email.
    I have checked that outgoing email setting in CA is defined and like I said it was working fine without problems but after restart it is showing error.

    I removed outgoing mail server in CA, added again and restart IIS but still emails from OOB workflow is not being sent. But email from Alerts are being sent. Don't know what to do now.

    This is really weird, It works when an alert is set but workflows doesn't send emails... Can you create a simple 1 Step workflow in SPD to send an email when a specific field is set. See if this sends an email..

    I created a test workflow which sends email to user and it is also not sending email. But I am getting email from SharePoint regarding "variation" page changes as well as alerts which I told above.

    In a mixed client environment, mostly Outlook 2010 & 2013 clients. Only Outlook 2013 clients (about only 4 mailboxes) are receiving this error immediately after sending an email. My temp band-aid at the
    moment is to: from the client, go into the "address book" & select a different address book like "Contacts" & then select the address again & select the Global Address List, which is the default. (it will have the users email
    + at the beginning of the field, it reads, Global Address List - (email of the user), then I close Outlook & open it back up, & the problem is solved. But on some mailboxes, not all, the issue comes back. From my research, I know that our individual
    mailboxes do not send out over 500 emails in one day. Most users will send out maybe 20 or 30 in one day, so I don't think it's that. 
    But I'm not sure if this is related, but I have noticed that the log files for the Exchange 2010 seems to only hold logs with date stamps of only a couple of days. It used to hold log files indefinitely until they were archived, deleted, etc. So, this is
    a new, unusual issue I have seen as well. 
    We have 2 .edb's, one active: 78 GB's and one disabled at 7 GB's. Exchange 2010 is running on Windows Server 2008 r2, Enterprise Ed. We have had Exchange 2010 running now for about almost 2 years now and this is the first time this particular issue has come

    You can refer to the following steps to rebuild an Offline Address Book.
    1. Open EMS. Update OAB using the Update-OfflineAddressbook "offline address book" cmdlet. Restart Background Intelligent Transfer Service on the Mailbox server.
    2. Initiate OAB replication from mail box server to CAS server. Execute for each CAS server using the Update-FileDistributionService "CASServerName" cmdlet.
    3. Start Outlook and download OAB.

    I receive the following error on a newly installed 2012 R2 fax server when sending from the Windows Fax and Scan console:

    The test fax that fails only contains text that I type into the body.  However, if I add an attachment, the fax is successful.

    Would you please let me confirm whether install any third-party application on the Windows Server 2012 R2?
    Please perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflicts and monitor the result. Please also check if you install all necessary updates on the server.

    All three of these users are in her address book, and are all in her office residing on the same Office 365 domain account.

    - This entailed manually downloading/updating  the address book via 'Send/Receive --> Download Address Book...'. The second method in that article had me rename/move/delete the Address Book files stored on the local machine, and then allow them to

    That's the kind of message you will see when trying to send on behalf of/send as another user, when you don't have the necessary permissions added. Or you are using the wrong send method, or using an outdated name cache entry, or the OAB is outdated.

  • Messages OS X 10.9.5 - Your Message Could Not Be Sent Error

    Over the last month Messages has begun giving me the following error:
    "Your message could not be sent.
    Click "Try Again" to send this message"
    When I restart my computer it works for a short period of time and then begins delivering the same message. Any advice on how to troubleshoot and fix this problem so that I won't have to reboot my Mac all the time to use this service?

    Are you sure you are maintaining an Internet Connection ?
    If you have not Enabled the Bonjour Account in Messages and the iMessages account is the only one then Enable the Bonjour account (Even if you have no other Macs)
    Then go to the Window Menu and Select the option to bring the Buddy List(s) into view.
    Do these "close" similar to this ?
    It may read "Disconnected" if it was connected and had "failed" since.

  • Received error message that message could not be sent due to domain's size limit

    Sent messages come back saying the domain's size limit causes messages to be undeliverable. How can I fix this?

    Folling your instructions, settings same as ISP's, I did manage to send and receive One test message yesterday.
    Trying this morning all attempts are complete failures; with requests to "enter new password". A password which has not been changed.
    Just now attempted to send a test message three times; receiving the same request for a new password then some how forcing the issue I received the following:
    "An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: pacmmta54.windstream.net pacmmta54 4.7.1 - Connection Refused - 72.168.134.151 - Too many connections."
    By the way, I've (using the package manager) have completely un-installed and then then reinstall "Thunderbird".
    An interesting note; I should have had NO orginal settings or have retained any incoming email messages, correct?, but I did and infact click on the link of your original reply. This message is not being sent from in side Thunderbird, but from Mozilla support web page. Thank you for your assistance.

  • Messages keeps saying "Your message could not be sent..."

    I am sick to death with this problem in Messages. I thought it was specific to one colleague, but now I just had it happen to another.
    I will get messages just fine. I can respond a few times (around 3) without problem, and then it simply refuses to send any more beyond that. Instead, I get the small red "!" and when I click on it, I get the above message. I have also confirmed that my messages are not being recieved on the other side. If I click "resend" they usually fail as well.
    I am using an AppleID for some cloud services on this Mac, but have unchecked "iMessages" in the menu--I am NOT trying to link to any of my other devices. I am simply trying to use AIM as a simple IM client. I am using my AIM credentials that I have had for years.
    I am super tired of getting up and delivering my IMs by sneaker-net. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
    I have quit and restarted Messages. I have tried using a different client (Adium, which fails silently). I have tried force quitting the Imagent process in Activity Monitor.
    The account is "open" on a sleeping (likely logged out of AIM) Lion machine at home. That fails to connect sometimes and I have to do the use-SSL-toggle-trick to get it to finally make me online. But, I don't usually have failed messages at home.
    I have tried the use-SSL-toggle-trick and it doesn't fix it reliably either.
    I get this error in syslog:
      AIMIm::OnHostError: buddy=foo, error=(code=3, subcode=0, category=7, url="", message="")
    (where "foo" is my buddy)

    Copy and Paste in to Terminal the bold text below.

    Much of the info in between the top section and the bottom is the app testing for Internet Speed and whether you have a camera and Mic.

    The log will continue when you do certain things.
    The obvious one is starting a Video or Audio Chat.
    It is less responsive if just sending Text (as this is on a port you have already logged in on).
    Can you show me the top, the bottom (IP and COMMNAT results) as I have called it, along with the Bandwidth Results ?
    I don't need the camera and Mic status unless you think something is particularly crazy.
    You may or may not get anything whilst sending text (even if you add a Pic or File)
    If you do get something can you post this.
    The app will work normally (well as normally as yours seems to).
    Once you have either past or experienced  your issue you can Quit Messages and then Quit Terminal.

    I can receive messages and can send them directly from Network Solutions just unable to send now from Thunderbird. Was working fine until the newest version installed. Haven't changed any settings...

    That anti virus? is it Nortons security suite? I think that is what comcast give their xfinity customers but I am not sure what everyone else gets.
    Assuming is is the Norton's product go into the firewall component and explicitly allow Thunderbird unrestricted access to the internet. Norton's product have a long history of blocking new releases of mail programs because the version number changed.
    Go onto the SMTP setting you have in the image and make sure each has a description entered.
    Now check in the account settings by clicking the account name in the list so you select the item about Server settings for each account and make sure the selected SMTP server is what you think it is. Now there is a description that will show in the list.

  • I am having trouble downloading the new outlook mail.It returns error message about a sync services agent, database daemon etc. Also, I Can send an email but it returns with message: "message could not be sent." Any suggestions for this Apple novice?

    I try and download the new Outlook update and it says I have to close sync services agent and others.I do that,or 'think' I do but it doesn't close.

    PS - have found other posts indicating that clips smaller than 2s or sometimes 5s, or "short files" can cause this. Modern style editing often uses short takes ! Good grief I cannot believe Apple. Well I deleted a half a dozen short sections and can export, but now of course the video is a ruined piiece of junk and I need to re-do the whole thing, the sound etc. which is basically taking as much time as the original. And each time I re-do it I risk again this lovely error -50 and again trying to figure out what thing bugs it via trial and error instead of a REASONABLE ERROR MESSAGE POINTING TO THE CLIP IT CAN'T PROCESS. What a mess. I HATE this iMovie application - full of BUGS BUGS BUGS which Apple will not fix obviously, since I had this product for a few years and see just hundreds of hits on Google about this error with disappointed users. Such junk I cannot believe I paid money for it and Apple does not support it with fixes !!!
    If anyone knows of a GOOD reasonably priced video editing program NOT from APPLE I am still looking for suggestions. I want to do more video in future, but obviously NOT with iMovie !!!

    It sounds to me like some of the addressees in an email message you're tryijng to send are not legitimate.  Perhaps you're trying to use Apple's Contacts address book instead of Outlook's.  Check each outgoing address in the message.

  • IMessage in Mavericks "Your message has not been sent"

    After downloading Mavericks, i can use iMessage normaly.
    But ""your message could not be sent, click try again to send this message"

    Hi,
    The Apple ID on the iPhone has to be removed and not just trying to isolate it as a Send and Receive Address.
    The Pic also looks a little odd.
    If you read older info about the iChat App it refers to Chats  (AIM, Jabber, Bonjour and Yahoo) on the type of accounts that have Buddy lists.
    Whether you display Buddy List in Messages is optional.
    If you read info on iMessages (which is mostly iOS device based admittedly) the documents tend to take about Conversations.
    Whilst the alert is somewhat see though it only appears to have the Pink Panther pic (possibly a Top Cat character) behind it and I can't tell if it is sending an iMessage or not.

    sorry this was a vague problem...i sent an email to a french website but it bounced back saying messge could not be sent due to mistake in address. now every time i go to my mail the message..This mail cannot be sent appears..i press the OK to and it still appears every time i log on..Any clues on how to get rid of this message?

    Interesting db mail issue. If i click send test mail from sql mgmt studio, it works fine, but when i execute a SP to send a mail, it fails. One thing I noticed is that the "LastModified" column in the mail log shows the domain account when a test
    mail was sent from mgmt studio, but show "sa" when the SP was used to send mail. 
    This is from SQL 2012, did not see this in sql 2008, looks like 2008 always used the service account.  any ideas ?

    I also use SQL Server 2012. I send a test email through SQL Server Management and the last modified By “sa”.
    If you used stored procedure to send a test email. Please use the command below:
    EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail
    @profile_name = 'Adventure Works Administrator',
    @recipients = '[email protected]',
    @body = 'The stored procedure finished successfully.',
    @subject = 'Automated Success Message' ;
    I can both send test email through SQL Server Management Studio and SP. Make sure you have the right profile. Since you could send test mail via SQL Server Management Studio, please try again to send it via SP.
