Message Delivery Restrictions on Distribution Groups setting "Require that all senders are authenticated" on newly created groups

This is new behavior.  I recently decommissioned my Exchange 2003 server.  Could this have caused this new behavior?  If so, how do I ensure "Require that all senders are authenticated" is unchecked during group creation?

I don't believe there is a way to change the default.  You'll have to either go to the properties each time after you create the group and disable it. Or run the following powershell script after:
Set-DistributionGroup GROUPNAME -RequireSenderAuthenticationEnabled $False

  • Require that all senders are authenticated no longer working

    Hello,
I've already mentioned it in another thread, but maybe it's an update-issue in stead of server issue.
My problem: It seems (well, it doesn't work anymore, so it's an issue) that the option "Require that all senders are authenticated" on 'Distribution Group' not longer works. I really don't know why this happends and when it doesn't work anymore,
because it did work when creating the group (and the updates weren't available).
The situation (so maybe there's another option to find out what causes the problem):
Pineapp -> Exchange 2007 SP2 Rollup 4. The pineapp is being used before I installed updates of Exchange (and it did work with this setup), so in my opinion, this can't be the problem.
If someone could help me, or point me to a (new) direction so I can solve the problem with our Exchange server, that would be great :).

Update: When sending an email to the used distribution group, I get an bounce with 'authentication required'. When sending
an email to the user in the same group, the email is delivered in stead of bounced.
This is normal. You only enabled the  "Require that all senders are authenticated" on 'Distribution Group', but the users in the same group do not have
"Require that all senders are authenticated" enabled.  So the users outside of your domain still can send the mail to the users without authentication.
To batch enable the "Require that all senders are authenticated" for the users, you can use the following method:
    1. Create a organizational Unit (OU), move the users to this OU.
    2. Open EMS, type:
    Get-mailbox -OrganizationalUnit   |set-mailbox -requireSenderAuthenticationEnable:$true

  • A distribution group with "require all senders are authenticated" checked still receives external mail

a distribution group with "require all senders are authenticated" checked still receives external mail.  this does not happen for any other DG i am aware of.  this also happens from multiple external senders.
    please assist.
    thanks

    Hi,
From your description, I would like to verify if the problematic Distribution Group is a member of other distribution groups that don't check "require all senders are authenticated".
What's more, please check if there is any difference between this problematic distribution group and other normal distribution groups.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Can be set with one click that all senders are approved?

Can be set with one click that all senders are approved?
Example: folder inside POP3/IMAP have many folders. Can be approved email sender's or each sender needs to be added into UNwanted list?

    Hi,
I'm not sure if I understand the request clearly, it seems you want to find an easy way to set all the mail senders in a folder as blocked senders or safe senders, correct?
I'm not sure which version of Outlook you are using, for Outlook 2013, there's no such quick method to do that by one click, you will need to use the Junk E-mail Options to add the senders to the Safe Senders or Blocked Senders list.
You can learn more information from Use Junk Email Filters to control which messages you see:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/use-junk-email-filters-to-control-which-messages-you-see-HA102749438.aspx
From the link above, please note if you have existing lists of safe names and addresses, you can move that information into Outlook. Click
Import from File and browse for the list file that you want. To create a file that uses your current list, click
Export to File and then specify where you want the new file saved.

  • Dynamic Distribution Groups - Message Delivery Restrict to Security Group

    Hi,
I have created a dynamic distribution group and want to restrict mail delivery to only accept messages from members of a security group.  How do I achieve this?
The idea is the DDG's are set with their criteria and if anyone leaves/joins the relevant SG then they will have permission to send to those DDG's.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
In exchange management console it is very simple to provide the access. Please follow steps.
1.Open the Exchange Management Console (EMC)
    2.Locate the distribution list .
3.Right-click on it and select Properties
4.Open the Mail Flow Settings tab
    4.Select Message Delivery Restrictions
5.Then select the option only senders in the following list and add the DL that you would like to provide access to send email to that group.
    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

  • Message Delivery Restrictions failed in Exchange 2010

    Hi everyone
For a customer, I wanted to restrict the use of a distribution group so that only a few selected people can send to the list. When I tried adding these users under Mail Flow Settings -> Message Delivery Restrictions, it gave me the following error:
    Microsoft Exchange Error
The following error(s) occurred while saving changes:
    Set-DistributionGroup
    Failed
    Error:
Couldn't find object "<domain>/Users/Administrator". Please make sure that it was spelled correctly or specify a different object. Reason: The recipient <domain>/Users/Administrator isn't the expected type.
    OK
I know of the problem when a user is disabled, but never have seen this one before. The administrator account is active and in use (I logged in with the administrator account to add the users).
Anyone who knows what to do?
    Thanks!

That's what the error is saying - the administrator account has no mailbox, and I suspect that the EMC expects the account you are placing in that area to have one.
It's not the administrator that I want to add to the list, but the users of the board. But I'll try to create a mailbox for the administrator, for the sake of science :)
Unfortunately not, that's what I thought at first too, but I double checked and no mailbox for the administrator can be found.
Was the administrator account mail-enabled in the past however? I wonder if it was set as delegate or had send on behalf rights for one of the users you are trying to add and its ghost entry is still there.
    Twitter!:
Please Note: My Posts are provided “AS IS” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied.
Any way how I can check this? As for as I know, the administrator account never had "send on behalf rights", but of course I don't know what they've been doing in all the time since I left.

  • Message Delivery restrictions on users in database

Hi, I want to remove all delivery restrictions for all users in a specific database. Does someone have a script to do this please? Server is Exchange 2013 and the database name is College. Thanks

    Hi,
We can use the following command to remove message delivery restrictions for all users on a specific database.
    Get-Mailbox -database “College” | set-mailbox -AcceptMessagesOnlyFrom $null -AcceptMessagesOnlyFromDLMembers $null -RejectMessagesFrom $null -RejectMessagesFromDLMembers $null –RequireSenderAuthenticationEnabled
    $false
Also we need to check what Willard Martin said.
    Best Regards.

  • "SUMIF requires that all range arguments are the same size."

I just downloaded the Mac app Numbers for the first time today and opened an microsoft excel sheet from my old PC. In every cell where I have a SUMIF function is has an error icon in it. When I click the icon is says, "SUMIF requires that all range arguements are the same size." I tried retyping the function and it did not change. What else can I do to fix this issue? Is SUMIF supported on the Numbers app? Thanks.

    Jace,
Sumif does work in Numbers, all versions. There is just some problem with the import translation of the spreadsheet.
If you will post a screen shot of the layout of your document and Paste the actual expression here in your post so we can examine it, we may be able to help.

  • VMO and message sent to exchange distribution group

Unity Connection 8.6 with VMO 8.6.7
So with the registry setting voicemailupload_play = 1  --- old VM's or emails with WAV attachments will play as a VM
thru the phone but not light up the MWI.
However, if I send a VM using VMO from Outlook to a distribution group on exchange...all the users receive the email (with the WAV)
and VMO controls but they can't play it back via the phone (the requested voice message is no longer available)? Yet the WAV file is
attached right to the message. Playback from VMO to computer works fine.
Is there a way to easily have this playback through the phone given this scenario? Seems like VMO should be able to handle this.
I'd love to have the MWI light up as well, but I'd settle for playback.

    Hi,
We have a distribution group set up for external's to email a couple of internal's, however all the emails that have been sent to the group have not been going into the distribution group members inbox.
I have looked at the exchange message tracking and can see a number of emails sent to the group.
Is there a way to retrieve these emails so they can be sent to the groups members?
    Thanks.

  • Any way to present standard text in response to a Lync message sent to a distribution group?

Our company uses MOC/Lync as a way for employees to engage the Tier 1 Help Desk with questions.  The Tier 1 Help Desk is setup as a distribution list and employees send a MOC message to that distribution list.  When there is a broad system issue,
the Tier 1 Help Desk typically gets inundated with messages from everyone reporting the same issue.  It would be great during this type of event if any message sent to the Tier 1 distribution list could be intercepted and replied to with an
automatic "We are aware of a system issue with xyz and are working to resolve it."  This would hopefully let the employee know that IT is aware of the issue and working on it and IT can therefore ignore their message if it is in fact about this
issue.  Is anyone aware of a way to implement this type of feature?

    Hi,
I don't think you'll be able to achieve this natively in Lync. The only thing that comes to mind is to define a custom presence state that you could have Tier 1 Help Desk change to in the event of this happening. This would only be a proactive measure though,
and not reactive in providing an auto response.
Looks like you'd either need to jump in and create something leveraging the Lync API's yourself, or see if there's an auto-responder / bot plugin out there already that can do this for you.
I'm not familiar with any myself, but top of a quick google-fu moment pulled up
    http://lyncauto.blogspot.co.uk/
I must stress I've never used this, but its this type of app that might offer you the functionality you're after. I'm sure others here might be able to recommend something that's proven.
    Kind regards
    Ben

  • I've been trying to reach someone online to chat for days now, at all times day and night, but the message always says that all agents are busy...All the time?  I want to find out why I should continue with Verizon when Sprint can offer me $50/month with

How can you get anyone from Sprint to respond? They're never available online to chat, and there is no place to send an email message....

I'm sure you meant Verizon not Sprint. Even if you got a hold of someone what do you expect to happen? CS reps do not have the power to lower pricing or offer you any special rates. CS reps can't say "Well we'll give you $20 off and double your data to keep you form leaving". It doesn't work that way. Your options are A) stay B) leave

  • I've accidentally apparently put my iPod Touch 4th Gen into Recovery Mode. I have not jailbroken. When I plug it in to my Windows 7 computer, it says that all values are n/a. I tried restoring and I got error message 2005. It won't turn on. How do I?

As the title says. Please, help me, I'm a little worried. Is it possible that I have somehow bricked my iPod?
EDIT: My iTunes is not up to date, I updated it last the week iOS 5 came out, it tells me that there's a new update. Could I need this update to restore to iOS 5.0.1 from my PC? Because I just did OTA to get to 5.0.1.

Never mind, got it to work. I stumbled around on Google for a while and somehow ended up reading things from the 'jailbroken' community. They had easy instructions to get out of Recovery mode. Thanks anyway though!
P.S. For anyone who experiences this, here is the fix: Hold Power and Home in unison for 6 seconds, then power on as normal.

  • HT4847 Help. I have iMac on OS 10.5.8 - no iCloud setting toggle that I can find.  So to create more space I deleted my old emails from the cloud.  Result - email record on my computer completely deleted also.  What can I do ?

So how can I manage my iCloud storage when I think my OS is too old.?

Thanks  that was very helpful for transferring files and looks like it solves the problem with not having to update the Operating Systems to Yosemite.
I forgot to ask about how does one transfer actual Programs like MS Office for example from  the old drive?
Transferring files using the drag and drop process is simple enough but don't actual Programs like MS Office have a much more complicated/larger data package that may be located in various places on the old HD versus files are much smaller and are in one place?
If I remember right when i got a new iMac a few years ago, my old mac was still working so i was able to use a cable to transfer data & programs off it to newer iMac and  ALL of the Programs like Office etc. transferred over including user accounts etc.?  I may be wrong as its been a few years?
Again  Any help & or suggestions are appreciated!
    Thanks

  • My App Store icon keeps showing I have "3" apps to update. When I open, I get message that "all apps are up to date". WHY?

Why does app icon show"3" when all apps are up to date?

    Hey mgerson5,
First, try force closing the App Store application, which you can find out how to do here:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5137
And if that doesn't work, I would reset the device:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
via: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    Have a good one,

  • Exchange 2010 Mail Enabled Distribution Group Won't Receive from External Address

Let me pre-empt the usual first response: yes, I've unchecked "require that all senders are authenticated" on the Message delivery Restrictions properties of Message Delivery Restrictions. I cannot get a message from an external mail server to
send to an internal mail-enable distribution group. It's working internally. I've checked our ironport and the message is being sent to exchange (at least I think it is).
    How can I troubleshoot this?!
