Can you upgrade or reload the firmware? Follow the instructions at the download page, which you can access via Nomadworld.com downloads.

  • Error message "file system formatter failed"

    Hi
I just bought a MyBook 1TB external drive to use as a vault for Aperture. It comes formatted FAT32, however, it appears you can't use FAT32 for vaults. So I have tried to reformat it to MacOS extended, and MacOS extended journaled, however it fails after a few seconds with the message "File system formatter failed".
I am using Leopard, iMac20", 2.33ghz intel core 2 duo, 2gbRam. Any ideas , or is there some other third party software I could try?
    thanks

Open up Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility.
In the column on the left there will be several lines for each storage device that presents itself to the system as a "disk". The first such line for any drive names the manufacturer and describes the drive hardware. That's the hardware description line.
Now a hard drive might be partitioned into several "logical volumes", each of which looks like a separate disk to the operating system. Each of those will be listed just under the hardware line for each of your drives -- indented a bit.
For drives that support removable media (such as your DVD drive), there will only be a volume line if there is currently media inserted in the drive.
Your main hard drive, the one you boot from, likely is partitioned into only one volume so there will only be one line following the hardware line and it will bear the name of your boot disk -- most likely "Macintosh HD".
Click on the hardware line to see the partitioning information for that particular physical disk drive at the bottom of the window.
Click on one of the volume lines indented below it (e.g., the "Macintosh HD" line) to see how that particular volume is formatted in its particular partition of the physical disk drive.
Partitioning is how the total physical space on the disk drive is divided and organized into one or more logical volumes. Formatting is how a given logical volume is structured for use by the operating system.
For PowerPC based Macs, the "default" partitioning should be Apple Partition Map (APM). For Intel based Macs the "default" partitioning should be GUID.
In either case, the "default" formatting should be Mac OS X Extended (Journaled).

  • Creative Zen Neeon "File System Err

Hi just bought a Zen Neeon a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I was charging my player on the computer and when I was done charging it I tried to transfer songs but it kept saying "Dri've needs to be formatted". I didn't format the dri've because I think it'll erase my songs. Now when I try to turn my player on it says, "File system error". What does that mean? Should I reset it's If so, will it erase my songs?

What's recover mode? I've done this...
Detach your player from your PC , and ensure that it is turned off.
Close all acti've applications (for example, Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, or Windows Media Player etc), as well as background applications such as Norton anti-virus applications.
Download the latest device driver if you have not installed any drivers for your player.
Double click on the file MStorage_PCDRV_LB__07_00_250 to install it. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Hold down the Play/Pause button while connecting the player to a PC's USB port.
When the Creativelogo appears on its screen, release the Play/Pause button. The player is now in Player Recovery Mode.

  • System.err

what is the perpose of 'err' reference variable in System class. and how to use it?

System.out leads the output to the standard output stream (normally mapped to the console screen). System.err leads the output to the standard error stream (and, by default to the console, as well). The idea behind having these two is that the standard output should be used for regular program output, and standard error should be used for error messages.
Both the streams can be redirected to different destinations. If it is desired to redirect the output to an output file and error messages to a different log file, than on UNIX it can be done as follows:
    java MyClass > output.log 2>error.log
This causes the regular output (using System.out) to be stored in output.log and error messages (using System.err) to be stored in error.log.
If you have put error messages in your program, but you dont want to see them, the technique given below can be used to do it:
    Java MyClass 2> /null
This redirects the System.err messages to /null, so no error messages appear on the screen, but the normal program output can still be seen.
Once again, google is your friend!!

  • File system error when trying to connect to a network share

I am trying to set up a BB Curve (9350) to access a network share (Applications/Files/GoTo) and am getting a message "File system error".  It does not ask for user/domain/password.  I have this working on another BB Curve.  When it works, it prompts for User Name, Domain, and Password.  Is there a setting on the BES that allows some phones to access the network, but not others?
    Thank you.

Sometimes the devices can get pushed additional policies on accident basically, I would call the carrier first so you guys don't get charged for support and have them transfer you over to blackberry tech support.  If you have access to the server and the device they might be able to figure out whats goin on.

  • File system error on MuVo TX

After I transfer files to my MuVo TX FM, and I try to play the music, I get a message "File System Error. I have followed the instructions and formatted again, but I still get the message. Any suggestions?

This is a post by Surfn, which helped me:
I've had a similar problem with MuVo TX that is about one year old. When I let the battery run down low, I started having the problem. First what didn't work, then what worked:
    -Replacing the battery didn't work.
2-Trying to turn it on gave "File System Error."
3-I am on Windows 2000 OS. When I tried to click on the removable dri've in Windows explorer, it caused that program to freeze up.
4-When I tried to double-click on "My Computer" and right-click on the removable dri've and select "format," nothing happened.
5-When I tried to download the latest firmware and install (with the device plugged into the USB port), after a long time of searching it said that no devices were found.
This is what WORKED for me: I downloaded the firmware NOMAD MuVo TX Audible Firmware Upgrade .0.05 from http://www.nomadworld.com/downloads/drivers When I ran this self-extracting executable, it gave some comment to the effect of "searching for devices." At this moment I held down the pause/play button and plugged the MuVo into my USB port and continued to hold the button down for another 5 to 20 seconds. This was how I was able to finally get it to find the device. At this point I was able to follow the rest of the instructions that were posted previously: check/tick the 'Format Data Area' in the dialog box and click on 'Start'.
I think I ran the firmware executable a second time without checking 'Format Data Area' in order to make sure the Firmware was installed on the newly formatted flash dri've, but I might not have needed to do that last step.
This has gotten me up and running where none of the other suggestions worked for me. I hope this works for you.
I am happy to say that my muvo is working fine now.
The only thing that I didn't do exactly like surfn described is that I didn't
press the play/pause button during the detection of the mp3 player.
I tried pressing the button, but the player was not detected, so I decided
not to press it and see if it works.
The player was detected, I selected the "Format data area" option, and pressed
start. It worked like a charm.

  • HELP: File System Erro

Hi, i hope somebody can help me... i have a MuVo N200 (GB) bought few months ago.
Now i can't use it because when i push the on button appears the message "File System Error" and the player turns off automatically.
    Somebody can help me?
    Thanks...

It doesn't matter if you already have the latest firmware, reload it anyway. This can sort out a lot of problems.
You say that you can't format the player - does it tell you why? Any error messages?

  • System.out and System.err to files

    Hi !
Could somebody tell me, how I can forward all System.out.println and System.err.println Messages from
my Java modules (EJB, Servlets) to different files respectively.
    Thanks
    Steve

I think you could create PrinStreamS from your desired output files and then use System.setOut(<...>) and System.setErr(<...>). Place this code in a servlet that you load at startup...

  • Which log file contains System.err output?

If I start weblogic using startWebLogic.cmd then output sent to System.err gets
output to the console window that opens up. However, if I instead start weblogic
as a service, nothing sent to System.err gets output to the weblogic.log file.
    Where does it go?

    Hi there,
My message was borne of 2 days frustration out of nearly a year of smooth operations with Oracle App Server. Unfortunately I let my mouth (or fingers) run off with those frustrations and made a post that was innappropriate and un-necessary and like every bad workman I blamed my tools.
My apologies for that. Having found where the OPMN logs are stored (and it's pretty obvious to anyone who isn't seeing through a red mist!) I have now fixed my issue pretty quickly.
Thanks for your patience glin - OAS and JDev together have in this past year have served me well and as you say are in general pretty straight forward to use. (My frustration was due to J2EE ClassLoaders, they always cause me some kind of headache somewhere!)
    Best Regards,
    Happy Holidays!

  • Error message "Live file system repair is not supported."

System won't boot. Directed to Disk Utility to repair but get error message "Live file system repair is not supported."  Appreciate all help.
    Thanks.
    John

I recently ran into a similar issue with my Time Machine backup disk. After about 6 days of no backups - I had swapped the disk for my photo library for a media project; I reattached the Time Machine disk and attempted a backup.
Time Machine could not backup to the disk. Running Disk Utility and attempting to Repair the disk ended up returning the "Live file system repair is not supported" message.
After much experimentaion with disk analysis softwares, I came to the realization that the issue might be that the USB disk dock wasn't connected directly to the MacBook Pro - it was daisy-chained through a USB Hub.
Connecting the USB disk dock directly to the MBP and running Disk Utility appears to have resolved the issue. DU ran for about 6 hours and succesfully repaired the disk. Consequently, I have been able to use that Time Machine disk for subsequent backups.
