Message Icon Not Showing Up

You knw the little dropbox on the Photos app that pops up when you tap the little arrow coming out of a box? You know how in iOS 6 how it shows different app icons, and how one of them is so you can iMessage that photo to someone? The iMessage icon is gone from that little dropbox from my iPad3, and I've used it plenty of times, even with iOS6.. What happened? Can I fix it?

Attachment icons not showing inline on apple mail messages

It's been some days since I first experienced this.
On selected messages containing PDF, or JPG attachments, the message does not show the attachment icon inline. It just shows the attachment icon in the header, under the To: field.
It wouldn't be big deal, as I can access the attachment by clicking the play button in the header, and then double click in that attachment icon.
Thing is, if I forward the message, that attachment is not appearing in the message I am forwarding. And this is a little annoying.
Suggestions anyone?

Go to settings > general > restrictions and make sure "iTunes" and "installing apps" are set to ON

I installed the following tools :-
Weblogic Server 10.3.6
SE JDK 6U35 64bit
Oracle Portal,Forms,Report,and Discoverer Services (11.1.1.4.0)
1. Create a "icons" folder and place all gif images in there :-
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Form1\forms\java\<icons>
2. Within icons i made a jar file of all gif images :-
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Form1\forms\java\icons\jar -cvf frmicons.jar *.gif
3. Copy this new jar file into :-
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Form1\forms\java\
4. Edit formsweb.cfg file:
imageBase=codebase
archive=frmall.jar,frmicons.jar
5. Edit Registry.dat file:
default.icons.iconpath=/forms/java
default.icons.iconextension=gif
After doing above configuration i create a form and place an icon on the button.
Set button's icon property = Yes and give name of icon without extension.
When i run the form not display icons who configure icons.
Please give the solution how to set icons on button.

Is it possible that the person who sent the message to your phone sent it to your phone # instead? Try sending a message to your phone via the email address and see if it shows up on the iPad.

Anybody having problems in Mail when sending reply messages from a thread and the message is not showing in the Sent mailbox?

Got a weird one...
I am sending replies from a thread in Mail and they seem to have been sent (sounds) but they don't show in the Sent mailbox... O-0 These messages seem to have been delivered to cyberspace as they don't show in my Sent mailbox on my IMAP server... This has been happening for the last month... I have checked and verified all of my IMAP settings and Mailbox behavior settings... This is really weird and maybe a bug.... I checked all of my other clients that have access to the server on the same account and these messages do not show there either.... Any ideas?

The messages are getting to the recipient...
I am on a Comcast IMAP server if this has anything to do with it and the server settings are following the correct server port numbers, SSL settings, etc... I save Sent messages on the IMAP server for 90 days.... None of these "disappearing" messages were on the server for more than a couple of days.. Typically, these messages will get 'hung' in the Outgoing Mailbox for @30 seconds before sending... like they are being scanned for viruses or Mail can't connect to the server all of a sudden...
I anybody else here is on a Comcast IMAP server, and having this problem of disappearing Sent messages... This would tell us that it might be a Mail Provider issue with their outgoing server...

we are doing FILE-RFC synchronous scenario with out BPM, in the communication channel monitoring it was showing success, but in File server file is not coming to target side from sender, messages also not showing in the SXMB_MONI.
how can i solve these issues, pls suggest me...

Please follow the steps below to see the synchronous messages in sxmb_moni
Step 1. Go to transaction SXMB_ADM
Step 2. Click on Integration engine configuration
Step 3.Go to Edit - Change specific configuration data
Step 4. Add the paramaters:
LOGGING and LOGGING_SYNC category RUNTIME current value = 1 (active)
PS: You can also set TRACE_LEVEL to 3 so that all processing steps and details will be logged.

Yes I have the same problem
Started a new hotmail account, have 5 or 6 emails in it in different folders, I could see them in the folders yesterday - today I go to the folders and they are not showing :-(
I've checked by using safari and going into the account and they're there, I've tried deleting the email account from the iPad restarting and creating again - iPad won't load them.
Has anyone got any ideas?
I've also tried changing settings but nothing.

Why do my app icons not show up on my iPad2? I have purchased the apps on my iPad directly. Also, I know they are there because when I search it finds them and then I can open and run them.

Could the Apps be on the second page of Apps? From your Home page, wipe across from right to left to scroll to page 2.
If that is the problem, press and hold on the icon. When it starts to wiggle, you can drag it back to the first page. This can also be done from iTunes when the iPad is selected.

Hard Drive icon not showing in Finder

Noted this problem prior to SL. Spent a considerable amount of time on phone with Apple technician, nothing he suggested worked. He agreed that installing SL due out in few days would probably solve the problem. It did not. Another long session with an Apple Tech troubleshooting, including a re-install of OS 10.6.1. Nothing. In fact I noticed afterwards that now that not only was the HD not showing, but I could not make the external drive icon and CDetc icons disappear via Finder preferences . Trashed the finder.plist and restarted and that solved that problem but still no HD icon. Well, so what? but I wonder why and if it is indicative of a bug in the system or with MY system and what can be done about it.

If you own DiskWarrior, you can try running it.
Each file and folder has Finder settings in its entry in the directory. One of the settings is to make the item invisible in the Finder. A hard disk is recorded as a folder. Obviously it acts just as a folder, it contains other files and folders. It's just the top level folder. If the invisible setting gets set by some means, who knows how, then the entire hard disk will be invisible. It doesn't matter what version of Mac OS X you are using.
Anyway, DiskWarrior considers the invisible setting being set for the hard drive a corruption and will fix it. That may or may not be your problem, but if you have DiskWarrior you would certainly find out.

File attachment icon not showing in Mail

When I attach a document file in Mail, I want the icon to show. Sometimes the file opens in the body of the email message. This often happens with .pdf files. How to prevent this and have only the icon showing? Never experienced this problem until recently. Caused maybe by the latest OS X update?

Thanks for responding. I've tested what you say, and it appears to be mostly correct. However, even multi-page .pdf attachments seem to default to the full view of the first page until I correct it by specifying "Show as icon" - which is not a major inconvenience. Fortunately that correction appears to hold up for the recipient of the email.
It's too bad that there's no way of make 1-pagers show as icons for the recipient.

Video Icons not showing up to play video

When i come to play a video, it gives you a menu down the side to see what player i want to use. Most of the icons are not showing up. It gives you an Icon like a notepad with what looks like a pen and pencil crossed,and the spinning wheel is present. I am not running any other application while i am doing this.
After about 10 mins it`s all back to normal. All the original Icons are showing eg- Quicktime player ,Quicktime player 7,VLC,Real player, and Adobe Media Player. It`s happening in the first 10 mins after i have turned the computer on,and then as i said it goes back to normal.

No i have no message to verify/ repair your disk with disk utility. I am 62yrs old and i am not very technically minded. Sorry it`s an iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8) Does this disk utility automatically appear. As i have said it only happens in the first ten mins.with the spinning wheel. I can go back down now and they will all be showing you the original icons. Sorry to cause you bother.
