Message Interface not running as synchronous
Hi,
We have an synchronous interface which was running fine. We then applied SP18. This inerface now only runs in asynch mode.
Has anybode experienced this before.
Thanks
Martin
Hi Ram,
There can be two possibilities....
1. Either you might not have added your Message Interface to the Business service . If added..
2. you need to check whether the Interface direction is set to inbound in the IR.

Cisco Messaging Interface-Not Running
Hi All,
On the UCM 6.0 the Cisco Messaging Interface service is activated and when i check the status in 'control center feature services' it shows 'Not Running' and 'Activated'. If i start and refresh the page it again shows as 'Not Running'Hi Vineet,
This interface is only used in CCM to Legacy VM integrations (via SMDI) if you are not setup that way this is why you are seeing this :)
Cisco Messaging Interface Service
The Cisco Messaging Interface allows you to connect a simplified message desk interface (SMDI)-compliant external **Third Party** voice-mail system with the Cisco CallManager. The CMI service provides the communication between the voice-mail system and Cisco CallManager. The SMDI defines a way for a phone system to provide a voice-mail system with the information needed to intelligently process incoming calls.
Genrally the Cisco Messaging Interface (CMI) is a Cisco CallManager service that should be run only on the publisher server. This service intercepts calls destined for voicemail and generates appropriate SMDI messages, which are then delivered to one of the server's Component Object Model (COM) ports.

Startup error message - Could not run this script because of a disk error.
I uninstalled Dates-to-iCal-Launcher and couldn't find any info about how to uninstall it online (just dragged the icon from Applications to the Trash). Now every time I start my iBook, I get an error message from Dates-to-iCal Launcher (there is an icon that looks like a scroll on the left):
Could not run this script because of a disk error.
-43
How do I get rid of this error message? It happens every time I turn on the computer. Thank you!thanks for the update.
there is no risk when changing settings in any OS user interface like System Preferences etc.
there could be some risk in manually deleting files from Library folders, which is done sometimes to uninstall applications.
keep in mind to regularly back up important files. -
ITunes will not open (no error message and not running Norton 2005)
I have recently upgraded to iTunes 7 and I now cannot get it to open after clicking on the icon. The iTunes.exe process comes up in the task manager briefly then disappears. There is NO accompanying error message and I am NOT running Norton Antivirus 2005. I have already tried reinstalling the standalone version of quicktime and I have used msconfig so that I essentially have only the necessary iTunes/quicktime processes running (no antivirus/antispyware/anti-popup software is running in the background). I have Windows 2000 and I have never had a problem with iTunes until now. Somebody please help me out here.
wapierce,
It looks like we have covered all the bases here. Unfortunatly it looks like The computer cannot run iTunes or the OS has an issue that may require a reeinstall.
Lets verify the Hardware and OS one more time. Click Start> right click My Computer> Properties(you can also open My Computer then click view system information on the left side of the window.) What does the processor and Memory say here? Also what is it saying aout Windows.
Make sure there are no upadtes available for the computer.
When you installed iTunes did you make any registry changes? It sounds like the next step would be doing a restore or re-install of Windows on the computer.

Message Interface not found during Receiver determination
Hi Folks,
While doing Receiver determination i found this error
Problem Loading Schema Description: Message interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system
i checked it in SLD also for Product assigned to Particular Business System. Even i tried with creating a new one and assigning the product and software component to it.
When i imported the Business system from SLD, i m not able to see any inbound and outbound interface for particular business system.
But it is working for another scenario where inbound interfaces are used.
plz help me out
SachinSachin,
><i>DEV and QA is having diff. SLD so i created the SWC and products in SLD again.</i>
You should export the SWCV from your Old SLD and import in into your new SLD.
and then import the same in Integration Respository.
When you try to export SWCV from SLD, you will get a .CIM file which you need to save in your local desktop and then import this in the new environment.

Message interface not exist in any software components on business system
Hi Experts,
In development-environment we have an interface (SAP->XI->3rd party system) with a conditional receiver determination (based upon a fieldvalue in RFC that comes from SAP, "CONTROL_RECEIPE_DOWNLOAD"). This functions properly in development.
After transport to production environment this structure is not known when I try to use it in the Integration Directory when creating a conditional receiver determination. Double-click on the interface does result in the startup of the integration builder, but the interface itself can not be found. The following error-message appears:
"Error message Message interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system"
All design-objects have been put into production and in Integration Builder the structure is available. In IR it is not...
In development In the business system of the sending SAP system, I can see the interface. In production, I don't see any interfaces at the business system....so this might be the problem but how can I add an interface manually to a business system?
Can anybody please help?
Thanks in advance
WilliamHi William,
One more thing. In Production, check the technical system of source. SWCV in which you have developed your interface, should be installed on the source system. If this SWCV is not in list of your installed products & SWCV then add it. Update the business sytem in ID again & it will work. I guess you have done a typo by saying that objects are not available in IR but in Integration builder its avaliable.

i have created 2 interfaces inside my message interface........
both are outbound.....!!
i am actually doing 2 scenario's inside the same name space......
when i go to integration directory i am no able to get one of the message interface's while creating the receiver determination and all those things.........?if ur using business service then just
add outbound interface in receiver side and
inbound interface in sender side.
or if u r using business system then the problem is in ur SLD.
just check ur business system over their.

Interface not running: ORA-01722: invalid number
Hi,
I have migrated my ODI master&work repositories from my development-machine to my local laptop and now I get this error when executing one of my Interfaces:
ORA-01722 Invalid number (I translated this because I get this error in Dutch!!).
On my development-machine, I do not get this error, and IF I get errors, I get them in English (which I prefer).
So, my questions are:
1) how do I change my errors on my local machine from Dutch to English?
does that depend on the database? or on java? or on ....?
2) can I make changes in ODI to get this Interface running?
Thanks in advance!
Steffen
ps. I already tried
a) to set in 'odiparams.bat'
ODI_ADDITIONAL_JAVA_OPTIONS='-Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US"
but this didn't help...
and
b: set my Oracle database run in AMERICAN_AMERICA.
set my Locale Settings to English [US]
.. still no luck.. ;-((I think to change the language of the error message of oracle you got to change the value of the variable NLS_LANG
you can change it only for a session if you want to try
alter session set NLS_LANGUAGE='AMERICAN'
and you can verify your language with this script
SELECT USERENV ('language') FROM DUAL
then you can see if the problem come from here
And for your interface this message could come from a character which is not valid in Dutch.
execute this to see which numeric delimiter is allowed:
SELECT * from NLS_SESSION_PARAMETERS where
PARAMETER='NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS'
which this I hope you to find your error -

Post-installation configuration interface not running
I've just installed Ops Center 12.1 on a new SPARC T4-1b running Solaris 11.
We are using a remote database hosted inside an Oracle Database Appliance. The installation went through entirely, and I'm at the point where I need to configure the application.
The problem is that the web GUI that is supposed to be running on port 9443 isn't running. (doesn't appear in netstat -an).
The instances bound to port 80 (the redirect) and port 443 exist -- but the rewrite sends me to the non-existent service running on port 9443, so I am stuck.

Not sure why this is an issue. Have run PC clean up, made sure to run everything by book. Download goes through to very last and then says Javascripts not enabled/working. I have already double checked settings. Javascripts IS selected to run, so where do you think my issue is?
Solved the problem.

Synchronous message interface processes as Asynchronous
I have a message interface define as Outbound - Synchronous. But when it processes it shows it being an Asynchronous message. My response message mapping never executes.
Thanks,
JimPriyanka,
Here is the situation. This process works in XI 2.0 and I am trying to convert it to XI 3.0 The message interface is defined as outbound-synchronous. This automatically forces me to define the Output message and the input message. Because of this definition, the message mapping allows me to define the request message mapping and the response message mapping.
Basically the scenario is I receive an XML file that is mapped to an RFC that is sent to SAP R/3. This RFC creates a sales order.
When the scenario is executed, the request message mapping executes because the sales order is created in R/3. However the response message mapping never seems to executes.
The message interface is defined as Synchronous, but it shows in the message monitor as Asynchronous.
So I do not understand your question about "Do I have a corresponding inbound sync message interface".
The fact that the message interface is marked as synchronous and it has the output and input message types defined, I would have to say that this is the corresponding inbound message interface. This is how I have defined it in XI 2.0 and it works. Is there something different with XI 3.0 that maybe I am missing?
Thanks,
Jim -

"qmasterd not running" - how this happened and what we did to fix it.
For this with the message "qmasterd not running".
This may be of help to those of you who are unsuccessful in
• initialising qmasterd
• can't sucessfully 'START' qmaster from the system preferences panel
• can't start qmasterd from the shell or the startupitems
• can't establish a cluster in qmasteradmin.app
• etc etc
Taste will vary ofcourse.
SOLUTION: after 2 days of concentrated troubleshooting on this we REINITIALISED the startup disk and RE_INSTALLED THE 10.4.8 O/S and all the applications and replaced (copied) the user data on the primary startup disk.
Affected H/W:
• g5 QUAD w/8GB memory and 3.7TB disk (including 2 x 250SATA internal DDMs) with 7800graphic card
• 30inches HD Cinema display
HIstory:
• decided to UPGRADE internal 2 x 250GB SATA1 DDM's with 2 x 500GB sATA2 DDMS because of storage shortage.
• on advice, we used APPLE MIGRATION ASSITANT to migrate 100% functional OS 10.4.8 startup disk (Macintoish HD) to external FW disk that had a fullfunctional 10.4.8 and apple pro apps as a back up. (This proved to be a very bad error of judgement - a mistake)
• all data migrated over to external disk sucessfully. System restarted on EXTERNAL DISK and tests (TTPRO) and user apps run - all is ok
• replaced G5 internal UPPER SATA1 250GB disk with new SATA2 500GB .
• using G5 startup DVD's , built and initialised OS/X 10.4.8 system on NEW G5 QUAD internal UPPER 500GB SATA2 disk as Macintosh HD.
• used Apple MIGRATION ASSISTANT to migrate all user and apps and ALL the files and objects from the working EXTERNAL disk we made earlier.
• reatrted and all looked fine. FCS, SHAKE, MOTION etc etc.. all business apps. UNTIL!..
• we could NOT get qmasterd to start - msg "qmasterd not running"
• restarted system many times.. no success.
ERROR SYMPTOMS:
• noticed sever apps were corrupted such as WACOM TABLET, LIttle SNITCH and others - these were remidied by reinstallation ... however..
• console crash reporter contained MANY dumps of qmasterd with general addressing exceptions:
Exception: EXCBADACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE (0x0002) at 0x0nnnnnnn
also r31 contined the page aligned address of the exception.. and this was ALWAYS different.. so assumed a data driven (parm??) corruption.
• other symptions include that need to kill -9 (force quit) qmasterd as it would NEVER shutdown.
WHat else we did to try and fix this:
• repaired disk permissions (disk utility.app) - no luck...
• repaired qmaster files disk permissions as per http://www.kashum.com/blog/1152611689 and follwd instructions.. no luck
• removed QMASTER as per the instructions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93234 - reinstalled - NO LUCK - still dumps... ;(
• removed all the qmasterd parms hoping that would help - no luck
• used many sugesstions form these discussion, COW etc .. including disconnecting all networks... no luck
• tried out most of the suggestions including an excellent on from Richard BF at http://www.kashum.com/blog/1152611689 - a trully excellent entry for those with the issue of Unable to connect to background process' error dialog problem.
• einstalled QMASTER for SHAKE4.1 disks - no luck
• resinstalled FCS (2 hours later) - no luck
• restarted on secondary system (the external disk) and QMASTER works fine!
• reinstalled the original 250GB SATA1 - restarted form it to verify QMASTER was ok.. no dumps existed.
• reinstalled OS 10.4.8 (OS only) .. no luck
• used CARBONCOPY (CCC) to make new disk - this failed miserably .. will not use this again ever....
final outcome:
• concluded that APPLE MIGRATION ASSISTANT had somehow corrupted some objects in the SECOND GENERATION of copy) from external DISK to new internal 500GB SATA2 drive.
• threw the towel in and initialised the G5 QUAD's UPPER internal DDM (500GB SATA2) - installed a new OS to 10.4.8 + maint
• tediously installed every APP including ADOBE CS2 and the CS3 photoshop whilst I mess around calling Adobe locally for an activation code (I always need to do this I dunno why).
so a great waste of 2 days.
Summary: when QMASTER works it is terrific.. especially for rendering and transcoding... but when it doesn;t it is dreadful.
Maybe someone with expertise could shed some light on this.
cheers
W
Hong KongHI Chris, I closed it because:
• at the time + a few eeks after I posted it, I had few views of it .
• it is just a reference document to suggest the trouble shooting procedures and headaches we endured to try and rectify it in the view that others may try this path
• it is in fact old news for some who have FCS 2 now.
The 'fix" is described in the "SOLUTION" part of my post.
I agree your symptom you are having wth QMASTER is of great frustration.
I would encourage you however to perserve to get this working because wehn set up it works very well.
