Message MM 309

Question

Hi guys,
when I enter in a material master code MM02, view 'Accounting 1' I have three labels 'Period 092011' 'Period 082011' 'Period 122010' and I select this third label 'Period 122010' and I want to modify the purchse order unit--->so it appears the message MM 309 'Enter the valuation class for the previous period/year' and even if I save the modify of purchase order unit is not saved..I have searchedi in OSS Note and in this forum but I have not found anything,my release is ECC 6.03..

Hi,
You will need to specify a valuation class in the previous periods also.
This is necessary by the SAP system design and can not be switched off.
Please try steps below:
You can change the valuation class via MM02 -
fill in the new valuation class for the current and also for the two
previous periods.
On the view Accounting1 there is a push button with the
name 'Previous period/year'. If you press this button, you see the
accounting information for the previous periods and there you also set
the valuation class.
If the problem persists , then only you might need to run Report MLHELP_SET_BKLAS which is
explained in SAP Note 364368. The report copies the valuation class from
the current period to the previous period.
You have to figure out the solution if it suits you before run  Report MLHELP_SET_BKLAS.
