When we do some transactions, we are getting some errors with message no. So using the message number how to find out the error or root cause?

Iam working on Stability study process. I have maintained stabity test with materiial (QS) & performed my test upto Initial test of Inspection lot. But when i click create Testing Scheudle in the Notification (QM02) , system asks for testing schedule data for
Maintenane strategy, scheduling period.
On clciking create testing schedule , system throws error message "Number is not in external interval". I have maintained all the prerequite setting on number range in following spro path stability study>testing schedule for stability study> Category--> no range.
For Group ST 600000000- 6999999999 for Intenal & 70000000-7999999999 for external. But still iam facing with error message ""Number is not in external interval". It throws message no "IP324" . Even I had cross checked with maintenance setting, but error message remains . How to resolve this issue?

Hi Lokesh,
did you actually enter a number ( i.e. 70000001)?
Usually Stability studies are created using the external number range so that ringing names can be used for the studies:
Example:
Material: 000000000000000001 acetylsalicylic acid
Stability study: ASA1

Write message to Job log with message class and message number

hi folk,
When running a background job I'm able to write a message to the job log using the statement - Message "some text..." type 'I'.
In the Job log I can see the message "some text.." with a "default" message class and message number (but in my report i don't specify any message ID) so I have no idea it comes from.
Then I try to send a message where I specify the message class/number etc...using message id 'Z1' number 000 with "some text..." In the job log I now can see the "right" message class "Z1" and the number 000, but the message is empty?
Please advice how to write a message with the message class and message number.

MRP - want to create query for Exception message number (MD04)

Dear all MM kings
consider i had one purchase against xxxx material , if i go to MD04 In Exception message number column i got massage number 20 Cancel process, now i want to know how many purchase order exist in system having the Exception message number 20
i want to define query for Exception message number 20
is there any way to do the same

Hi,
There are links on the first thread on this MM board that describe how to produce a query.
But if you have not done this before and have no ABAP experience, you might find it a bit tricky.
You need someone to find the tabkle that stores the MRP lists and see if this contains the exception message, first.
the structure I gave you is probably built dynamically by the program and so may not be available for a query.
One simpler option is to use the "Collective access" tab in MD04. here you can enter an MRP controller etc. and get a list of materials. You can then find out which of the 8 numbered columns contains the exception message 20 and then sort the list in this sequence (the exception messages are linked to one of the columns and this can be different in every implementation and so I can't tell you which one it is)
This will not just get the "20" messages unless they have been configured to use a separate column, but at least it is avail;able now without config and may be enough for your purposes.

We found the Down Pay Request (doc. booked by F-47) cannot be picked up by F110. In Job log the error shown as Maintain default cost element in controlling area.

CO down payment update is active in controlling area WAPC. You must therefore maintain a default cost element and a revenue element for down payments.
Maintain the default cost element for dow payment for controlling area in the project system implementation guide.
Kindly advice.

In the define dafault cost elemens for down payments in Project system-OKEP the CE for vendor and cusotmer downpayemnt is missing

if while creating down payment request you have not assigned cost element
maintain cost elements there.

WD Java application is displaying ABAP MESSAGE NUMBER, Not the text

We have WD Java applications running on Adpeted RFC model, Now the Success/Error Messages coming from backend are not displayed in the text, Message number is shown rather. In ABAP side, the language pool is maintained only for the danish language and the same danish language is set as portal language for the end user.
Does the Meta Jco Default language play any role here? I can see it is set as Danish by default but in one of the workign system it is English?
Can you explain where the problem could be?

I completely agree, we checked the message pool and found that the mesasage text is maintained for specific code in specific language, but on portal is not displaying the text, but it is displaying the code. it seems the language information of portal user is not being passed to backend.

Get the Error-Message-Number from RFC to SOAP

we have implemented a synchronous SOAP-Call to RFC over XI. How can I get the message-number from the raised exception in the RFC-function Module to the SOAP-Caller?

Matthias,
For you to have an exception structure when an rfc is imported into Xi, the rfc should have an exception defined. Usually we define an ApplicationError as one of the exceptions.
The idea is that if there was an exception which you didnt handle in your rfc (BAPI return will be emplty), the exception will be returned to XI and shown in SXMB_Moni as hard error(of course there should be a message mapping avaliable in XI )
In all the other cases, since you are populating BAPIReturn which is tables parameter, you should be able see the filled structure in your response message from RFC.

Problem with message number

In SAP CRM,when I am deactivating any business partner by checking the not-released checkbook in Status tab of transaction: BP then it is giving the first warning message: "You have chosen to DE-ACTIVATE the Business Partner" with Message no. ZMESSAGES_BIZ000 and then after pressing enter it should ideally move forward and allow me to de-activate the customer but afetr pressing enter it is giving a error with no desciprtion and no message number.
I tried to debug the exact occurrence of the error but I was unable to find it.

Now let the OP choose the option. when i read the thread what i understood was that the warning message was proper and the error message was not proper. So i assumed that there are two messages raised some where in an enhancement. Warning message raised properly and the error message without class and number.
My bad. This is why i always use message classes, it's easier to trace.
Will be much better with a 1=2 ( along with a dummy message statement ) for manually populated messages

MRP Exception Message Number

I need to write an ABAP report which uses the details on the MD04 Stock Requirements List detail screen for those items which have an Exception Message number (10, 20,30 etc..). The screen shows this data is held in a structure called MDEZ. I have tried performance tracing and ABAP debugging but can't find the actual database table where this data is held.(I'm a newbie).
Can anyone help with the relevant table name or appropriate function module?

Check form AUFBEREITUNG_ANZEIGE in main program SAPMM61R, include MM61RF40 in particular - forms aufbauen_mdpsx & mdezx_aufbauen.
They use 2 FMs to retrieve data, but these FMs require proper values to be passed in... so check all code in the form AUFBEREITUNG_ANZEIGE.
As an option - you may try to call this form like
perform AUFBEREITUNG_ANZEIGE(SAPMM61R). and then use field symbol, to access MDEZX.
assign ('(SAPMM61R)MDEZX[]') to <fs_mdezx>.

Payment Budget Exceeded Message Number BP 628 & 629

Hi all,
We encountered "payment budget for year 2008 exceeded" problem when releasing the Service Entry Sheet in ML81. The message number is BP 629.
The standard SAP FM report shows that there are sufficient available budget for that funds centre and commitment item. We have also checked and verified that the necessary funds centre, commitment item have been duly created and assigned to the corresponding cost centre and G/L account.
Would greatly appreciate if you experts can help us with the solution. Many thanks.

ME59N error "Contract vendor X differs from vendor Y" message number 06 047

Hello,
has anyone of you idea what could be the reason for that we receive every now and then in automatic purchase order run in ME59N an error message for a purchase requsition "Contract vendor X differs from vendor Y" message number 06 047
Also the purchase requisition in error (red) is displayed in the list under vendor Y even though agreement is for vendor X. In purchasing request agreement and fixed vendor X are displayed correctly.
The error does not appear in ME59N if we only select this one single purchase requistion.

Yes, it seems like source is uncertain but cannot understand the reason because 20280 is only vendor for the material. For this same vendor there are three contracts where this material is included but only the latest one 4600000805 is valid.
I checked contract partners, no reference to the 197790 vendor or neither is there in vendor masters for 20280
and 197790.
Is there any way to simulate how SAP selects the vendor in background? And as I said in the afternoon run there is no error anymore or if me59N run for this specific purchase requisition.

Exception message number missing in EXIT_SAPLM61R_001

I am using EXIT_SAPLM61R_001 for MD04 but in parameter IMDEZEXIT, the info of the Exception message number (AUSKT) and Exception message key (AUSSL) arer empty, although the line I'm debugging has an exception.
Does anubody know why??

when I try to post a customer invoice with fb70 tx , and I have created a derivation rule : cost center-->fund center, and also the G/L account that I am using in the posting has a commmitment item assigned , but the system shows the next error:
"Message number: FI311: Any commitment item has been entried in the position 00001 1000(Cocd)
6001000200(G/L account).
But in the tx Fb01, the system run correctly and make the derivation
Which is the problem , some note to implement ?

Hi,
When you post a document, all lines have to receive FM assignment. I believe, you are receiving this message on the line of the customer. Go to FMDERIVE, activate a trace and you will see if you have rules missing to derive FM object.

Passing Message number as an parameter in a Function module

I have to pass the Message number(sy-msgno) as an parameter into an function module
and that Message should be like "PO NUMBER ####### is deleted"
This Funtion module is an loop and PO number changes for every loop
How to define this Message in the Message class.

Message definition SE91 should be like below.
PO NUMBER & is deleted.
Here & is the place holder where u can pass one value dynamically. If u want to pass 2 dynamic values then u have to use 2 place holder and so on.
eg: PO NUMBER & is deleted by user &.
When u call this message it will display like
PO NUMBER 12345 is deleted by user user1.

FORMATTING_ERROR in smartform, Message ID: SSFCOMPOSER Message Number: 610

Hi All,
I am getting a typical error in smartform. when I am trying to execute the smartform, I am getting a formatting error with Message ID: SSFCOMPOSER; Message Number: 610 and the message being shown is "Include text does not exist (object VBBK, ID Z023)".
I am unable to determine where exactly the problem is....there is one template which I am using in a window but, everything looks to be fine there. Is there a way of debugging this problem?
I am unable to see any version management in smartform, is there a way by which I can see what changes have been done recently to this smartform. Please help.

Hi,
The message is pretty clear.
In your smartform there is a text node of type 'Include text', this will probably take a variable for the text name (the object and ID are VBBK and Z023, and may be literals or variables). You need to find the text node and determine why the name is not filled at runtime, if this a valid situation (maybe the text is not always available) check the box 'No error if no text exists'.

Live Cache error with message number /SAPAPO/OM028

Hi Experts,
When I run RLCDEL program for deletion of obsolete SNP orders in the back ground , system shows livecache error alert with message number /SAPAPO/OM028 in the deletion job log. The details of message is "invalid order" or ABAP programming error. Live cache consistency checks are not resolving issue. Product release is 5.1 with SP08. Please suggest a resolution

The sap notes 642503 & 973244 will fix your issue but they are for
versions 4.0 and 5.0 respectively.
You can write to SAP by creating a OSS message to update these
two message for version 5.1
This will resolve your issue
