Message recall outlook 2010 greyed out for shared mailboxes

Hello,
Can anyone advise if it's possible to recall a message sent from a shared mailbox? The user has full access permissions to the shared mailbox but the 'recall this message' option is greyed out.
We have installed the hotfix below but it says the update is already installed on the system?

  • Exchange 2003 + Outlook 2010 hangs if deleted shared mailbox exists into profile

Environment - Exchange 2003 + Outlook 2010 published via Citrix
We recently did the cleanup of shared mailboxes which are no longer needed. However post our activity we found that many users are reporting that their Outlook is hanging for a long time during startup and it continues while working on outlook. Upon investigation
we found that their Outlook profile was having 1 or 2 shared mailboxes listed which were deleted from organization. As soon these shared mailboxes were removed from profile the Outlook started working fine.
Is this know issue of Outlook and if any hotfix available for same, I have already checked the 'download shared folder' option which isn't selected.

    Hi,
Maybe the issue is related to the default behavior in Outlook.
    How about try the following:

If you are looking at the front page of the App Store and you are seeing the "downloading" message on the right under Quick Links.
Try this... Go into the "Purchases" section in the top bar of the App Store find ML in the list you are presented with. Does it say Resume? If so click the button and it will change to Pause. You may have paused it previously and forgot.
If not then do as Csound1 suggested and simply wait for it to finish

  • Outlook 2010 - Automatic signatures for auto-mapped shared mailbox..

    Hi,
I have recently received below 02 requests for a shared mailbox:
Automatic signature or standard bottom lines  for shared mailbox, user have full mailbox and send as permission?
Automatic response and auto delete of all incoming mails for shared mailbox?
Is there a way to achieve this, Please help!

    Hi,
If you want to set separately default signatures for each mailbox, primary mailbox and shared mailbox, I'm afraid there is no way to achive this goal from Exchange side, you may need some third party software.
Here is a similar thread for your reference.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/5c62c553-7533-4547-b49d-dcbffeb447e1/outlook-2010-automatic-signatures-for-automapped-shared-accounts?forum=outlook
To create automatic reply, you can use the Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration command. And if you want to delete all messages for incoming to this share mailbox, you can run the New-InboxRule command to create an inbox rule for this shared mailbox to delete
    incoming messages.

  • How to use Search Folders in Outlook for shared mailboxes

    Hello
We use Otlook 2010/2013 with MS Exchange 2010. In outlook there is "Serarch folder" with subfolders Large e-mail, Unreaded mails.... User can create own subfolders with rules.
Users have attahet to outlook shared mailboxex for example Import, Export....
For these mailboxes you cannot use "Search Folders" - outlook can use it only for your personal mailbox.
To use "Serach folders" for shared mailbox I have to create new e-mail profile in Windows. User has to run outlook using these new profile "import". Now he is directly connected with shared mailbox.
But users want to use "Search folders" when they are on own outlook profile with shared mailboxes attahecd to their profiles.
Is it posible to do it? Or use some third-party
    product?
    Thank you for help

  • Publish calendar for Shared Mailbox

    Hi,
I have shared mailbox that I really need to have the calendar to be publish online (the ics link). I tried using the website and outlook 2013 client. Both of them saying that the "storeID provided isn't an ID of an item." Is there a way to be able
    to publish the calendar?

    Hi,
We can enable Internet Calendar Publishing
in exchange, then users can share calendar availability (free/busy) information with users in non-Exchange organizations and other individuals with Internet access.
    Refer to this document.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607475%28v=exchg.141%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
After creating a new sharing policy, use the following command to set the sharing policy Internet for shared mailbox.
    Set-Mailbox -Identity <shared mailbox> -SharingPolicy "new policy"

  • Outlook 2010 - Contacting server for information

When attempting to print an email that contains many embedded html links (Avis Rentals, SouthWestern Airlines, etc.), Outlook 2010 has a pop-up that reads "Contacting the server for information" where it sits for at least 15 minutes. (I know this has been
asked many times, but I've not found a solution.)
    Details:
     - This error occurs when running through my firewall, or having the firewall disabled, or the DMZ, or connected directly to our ISP.
     - The time it takes for the Preview to appear is directly related to the number of links/images the email contains.  The more links I remove from the code, the faster it downloads (by faster, I mean it goes from 15 minutes to 10 minutes.)
     - Packet inspection shows Outlook (and Word, as they share an html engine), downloading the same links over and over.
     - I have tried this on Windows 7 (64 and 32), and Windows XP (64 and 32), running Office 2010 with Exchange 2010.  We did not have this problem until we installed Outlook 2010.
     - Tried Office 2010 SP1, but did not fix the problem.
     - Problem occurs to a lesser extent when tryng to forward the email - it takes about 2 minutes to forward.
     - Word Trust Center logging and Outlook Troubleshoot logging does not show anything.
     - Have tried Exchange Cached mode, disabling add-ins, having Outlook use html to connect to Exchange, Turning off Exchange to Outlook encryption, disabling Outlook Anywhere, removed all Add-ins,  etc.
Are there any other suggestions?  Is there an official fix?

After working with Microsoft on this I am convinced the problem is with the images in the emails that fail.  We ran a trace and found that the images linked to were either
not available or improperly designed or both and Outlook retries every one.  You can cancel repeatedly (20x for airline itineraries) or block images using the registry kludge.  Ultimately, airlines and othersite using
imbedded images need to fix their emails and/or their sites.  Here is a trace and Microsoft commentary about a sample itinerary email:
    Email Subject: eTicket Itinerary
This email is the itinerary and Outlook user is experiencing same issue while printing and forwarding this particular message
We gathered fiddler trace while reproducing this issue and below is what I found in fiddler trace
    GET
    http://uwebadmin/img/eTicket/Bullets/dot_Small.gif
    502
Fiddler - DNS Lookup Failed (text/html)
    GET
    http://uwebadmin/img/eTicket/Bullets/dot_Small.gif
    502
Fiddler - DNS Lookup Failed (text/html)
    GET
    http://uwebadmin/img/eTicket/Bullets/dot_Small.gif
    502
Fiddler - DNS Lookup Failed (text/html)
Outlook was trying to connect to the above URL (highlighted in yellow) and was failing. Outlook tried connecting to this 88 times.
Try to browse the above URL in a browser
http://uwebadmin/img/eTicket/Bullets/dot_Small.gif  and the DNS will not able to resolve this for you.
The key factor in the delay we are seeing is a 1x2.gif image.  In your first sample  email labeled “eTicket Itinerary”; this HTML code contains  88 of these images in
the body.  The original message was designed like a web page, and apparently the web designer felt they couldn’t trust the browser to handle cell spacing and non-breakable spaces, and decided to use a transparent 1x2 pixel GIF image instead.  So
any place in the message they wanted to enforce a space, they used an image.  This is very bad for Office 2010, since each of these will require an Office Art (OART) shape and an explicit download of the image to include in the forwarded (or printed)
email.  In addition, the server has placed the image on a share that is not supporting HTTP 1.1 OPTIONS verb, which eats up valuable time as the server bounces back an error on every image collection.
Simply put, Outlook and Word 2010 are not web browsers.  Each image is considered separate from any other (a unique link).  This is unlike a web browser which treats images
like a pool of resources and will reuse the same one over and over if two tags share the same link path.  So whereas a browser only needs to pull the image once, we will pull it for every image.  In addition, given this scenario we don’t guarantee
rendering of content designed for web pages and not email.  This is clearly web page designed.
In my opinion the use of images for spacing is a very pre-1998 rendering methodology, and extremely inefficient for modern HTML, but is clearly done for old browsers that didn’t support
explicit table layout.  While the company might have wanted to render that way, it makes for an awful email content experience, since users cannot easily select or edit such non-space “spaces”. In addition, to attach each to the file would bulk up the
email since each image would attach unique.  Bottom-line, the problem is due to the content itself.  It was not designed correctly for use as email (or should I say, in any email you would edit, or plan to view outside a web browser).
Why we don’t see the performance hit when originally opening the email;   It’s been explained because we can download images in the background (it is asynchronous).
But to forward or print, we have to pull the images synchronously
because we need the downloads to complete before we can proceed to the next step.  So the reason it only occurs on those specific HTML web sites is by  design.
I wanted to recap and  let you know up front, least two of the results from the repro steps are “by design”.
    1) Using images for spacing; e.g. 1x2.gifs totalling 88 images in the body.
    2) Each image is downloaded independent and not shared from resource pool, making just collection of images a slow task (by design given the email).
This explains why other HTML emails don’t exhibit this same performance hit by using more modern HTML designs.

  • In "Messages", I can no longer use voice commands to enter the message. Mic icon greyed out.

I use the voice recognition (press the mic icon) capability for text messages regularly.  After the last iOS update, it's greyed out and doesn't allow me to use it anymore.
Is there a work around for this?

To use "dictation" as it is called, there are two requirements:
    1.  Siri must be turned on (Settings > General > Siri)
    2.  You must be connected to the internet.

  • Cannot make AutoArchive delete messages in Outlook 2010

I have recently upgraded to Outlook 2010 from Outlook 2007. I previously had AutoArchive set up to delete files from two of the folders in my pst file by date. I figured I would be able to set it up the same way in the new version. First, I set up the main
    autoarchive settings:
Then I set up each folder I want auto-deleted individually:
This worked fine in the old version of Outlook. However, in 2010, it doesn't ever delete any messages. When I run AutoArchive manually, that doesn't do anything either.
Based on this page and various google
searches, I have already done the following testing / troubleshooting:
In spot checks, I could not find any items that had the "Do not AutoArchive this item" checkbox marked.
The majority of the Received dates are the same as the last Modified date. Just to be sure, I made the registry change described in the link above, then used Outlook normally for two days. No emails were deleted in that time.
None of the emails in question are marked as Important or have a user-defined category.
I ran the scanpst.exe on my pst file. It did say there were internal errors (no details of the errors, even when I clicked on the details button), so I let it fix them. Then, I ran it again and it said there were no errors. I used Outlook normally for two more
days. It still didn't delete any emails.
The pst file is not on a network share.
The pst file is a unicode-type file, which has a maximum size of either 20GB or 50GB, depending on what source you read. My file is nearly 3GB. It is therefore not full.
My mailbox, which is on a Microsoft Exchange, is also not full.
None of this changes the fact that the AutoArchive is not deleting any emails as it is set to do. Am I missing something, or does this feature just not work in Outlook 2010? Thanks in advance for any help with this, as it is annoying.

    Bob-
I finally gave up in frustration.  I had to hunt down a third party utility to dump all my Outlook for Mac data back into a format that could be used by Outlook for Windows.  Outlook for Mac can import from several sources, including directly from .pst files, but gives you no way to go the other way.  Installed Outlook in Windows running in Parallels and dumped Outlook for Mac.  Outlook is just about the only program I run in Windows anymore.
By the way, none of the suggestions in the Microsoft forum came close to solving this.  I wouldn't recommend Oultook for Mac to anyone.

  • Outlook 2010 Slow Access to Shared Calendar

We have a small 100 user domain running Exchange server 2010 and outlook 2010 clients.  When an admin
opens a shared calender from within Outlook 2010 it often takes 30 seconds or more to display the calender.. When using OWA the calendar display almost instantly so it's not a server issue.  We have a gigabit network and NO heavy mail or network users
so it appears to be an Outlook client issue.
I have done some research and it appears this was not a problem with prior versions of Outlook client as many other reported this issue after upgrading from prior versions of Exchange-Outlook.
Anyone seen this issue and know if MS fixed it?

    Hi,
Does this issue happen to all shared calendars? If this issue only happen to a certain shared calendar, we may try to delete some unwanted items in the shared calendar and then try opening it again to see the result.
In addition, are you using Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? Do you have the "Download Shared Folders" options enabled? If not, please enable the option and then test the issue again. To enable the option, please go to File > Account
Settings > Account Settings, double click your Exchange account to open the Change Account wizard. Then, click More Settings, switch to Advanced tab and make sure the "Download Shared Folders" option is enabled.
Please let me know the result.

  • User read & write permissions greyed out in sharing

Hi I am trying to access a Fat32 formatted HD plugged into a Macbook running lion from a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. When i go into system preferences and sharing I am able to see the External HD and share it but the read and write options for the users are all greyed out. Also when I access the macbook through sharing or connect to server I am unable to see the external HD but I do see the other shared folders on the macbook's internal drive. I have tried to verify and repair the drive but it has not solved the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In system preferences on both macbook's , you need to go to file sharing and making sure it's on for both ,click on options and enable smb for windows. follow instructions. I am assuming that the external drive has windows formate on it.
