Message recieved icon not going away - Blackberry messenger

So I use the Blackberry Messenger program a lot on my 8230 Curve.  Well, I have ZERO messages, let alon enew messages on the phone, that I can tell.  But for some reason, I still have the smiley face with a 1 next to it showing I have 1 new message.  When I do get a new message, it displays a 2 next to the smiley face until I read the message.  Whats this about?

from the help on the blackberry :
messages application >> help >> email message forwarding >> Reset a blocked message counter
it says to try this :
in the device options, click Security Options
Click Firewall.
Highlight a message type.
Press the Menu key.
Click Reset Count or Reset All Counts.

  • My 4S battery died as a message was incoming, "Unread message" icon not going away

My phone battery died as a message was incoming. Now when I charged it and turned it back on, the little red 1 on the message icon was there. I opened the message, read it, then went back to the home page..but the icon is still showing one unread message. I rebooted my phone, it went away until i opened the message icon, when I closed it again the 1 came back. Whenever I receive a new message, it just adds to the total, showing 2 even though there is only one!
    Any help?

You could simply clean out any muck in there with a soft brush.

  • Mouse not going away

I'm having issues with the mouse icon not going away on a quicktime movie I'm running for an artwork at a museum. I have a computer set to start up at a specific time and then a applescript to run on start up that opens the movie, loops it, and sets it at fullscreen. Everything works fine expect that the mouse icon won't hide and sits on the top of the movie. This only seems to be an issue when it starts up in the morning automatically, not when I manually restart the computer. Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

    Hi mcrocka:
    Welcome!
Press the Option / Apple / esc keys at the same time. That will bring up the Force Quit option.
    Then make imovie 'quit'

  • HT201401 The red dot on my voicemail icon never goes away. I have no messages, but it will never go away. Any ideas?

Hi there, just got my new iPhone 4s & the red dot is always on my voicemail icon on the bottom of my homepage. So I check & I have no messages, yet it never goes away. Any ideas, or is it just a glitch in my new phone?

I just had this problem and this is how I resolved it (with the help of an Apple  tech)
Go into setings and see if you have Celular Data turned on.
Settings / General / Cellular - Then turn Cellular Data  to ON

  • App Store notifications not going away - what to do?

iPhone 3Gs.  App Store on the phone shows three apps in need of updating, but those apps have been updated in iTunes, and the phone has synched several times since then.  Why are the notifications not going away, and is ther a way to sort this out (without having to update the apps on the phone - they are on different accounts, and it is a pain to have to log in again for each app).

Apple has had an issue earlier with the iTunes Store and various aspects of it's operation. It's mentioned here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
It may take awhile for it to totally clear though.
In the meantime, try the following: Shut down the App Store/ iTunes Store apps from the Multitasking bar:
1.From the Home screen, double-tap the Home button, find the iTunes Store/App Store apps (drag the icons left/right) and swipe up on their respective screen captures, NOT on the icons at the bottom. This will close them.
    2. Wait about one minute for the apps to close off
    3. Reset the device:
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
After the reset, try to open the Apps Store and see if the updates notification has cleared.

  • Having problem deleting all but one particular mail from the iPhone 4S mail inbox. I can delete mail either by the trash can or using edit, selecting the mail message and deleting.  However there is this one mail message that will not go away. Any ideas?

I am having a problem deleting all but one particular mail message from my inbox. I delete by either using the trash can icon for individual mail, or using edit, selecting the mail message (s) and clicking delete.  However there is this one mail message that will not go away regardles of what I do including deleting all from the trash.  Any ideas?

I get that every once in a while on my 3GS, and that's what I do to get rid of it. Probably not a bad idea to power down the phone every so often, anyway, gets rid of any crud waiting to cause a bug.
Glad to hear that it worked for you.

  • How can i reset my app store setting? i have signed in and out with my own apple id but i used a different one at first and that one is not going away

How can i reset my app store setting?
I have signed in and out with my own apple id but i used a different one at first a few years ago and that one is not going away how do i change it to my own apple id?

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID. Your only option is to delete the content and buy it again with the new Apple ID.

  • My Desktop Icons are not appearing or not going away

    Hi there
This problem started occuring a while ago while I was downloading many files.
What is happening is, whem I download a file, the file download icon will appear on my desktop as it should, and as my mac always has done, it should show the actual file icon once the download is complete and then dissapear.
What is happening is that the download icon does not go away, and the file icon does not appear. Rather, when I click on the completed download icon, it suddenly dissapears, but the downloaded file icon does not appear.
The files do exist, as when I search for them in finder and select 'reveal in finder' the file suddenly appears on the desktop.
This is really annoying... I now lose track of what I have downloaded and dont know what is on my desktop.. I dont keep files on my desktop, I just need to download them to there before moving them..

    Hi Dr Wong,
Have you tried designating a specific folder for the downloads to save to, rather than saving them to the desktop?
If you go to your browser preferences you can either create a new folder or choose an existing one to download to. This way you can see all your dwonloads in date/name order as you would with any other folder. I find that it's a lot easier to manage them this way.
Give it a try and see if it solves the problem. If you still have the same troubles come back to me.
    Cheers RoboScott

  • Notifications not going away

    Hello
I have a Curve 8330 and I received two notifications on the very top of my screen that I needed to update some apps on my phone. I went into my BlackBerry app word and updated them, but the notification is still on my screen. The same thing is going on with a Facebook notification. I have checked my Facebook, but the icon is still on the top of my screen. Does anyone know how I would remove it?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
For AppWorld, it is a two-step process:
    1) Go into MyWorld and check all of your apps...update any that have such available -- done.
    2) Go into Messages and find (you can use search for all services and unread messages) the messages from AppWorld...deal with them (read, delete, etc.) and the icon will go away.
For FB, typically the notification stays on until you read your new messages inside of the FB app on the BB (doing so on the FB website from a PC will not clear the icon on the BB). If it's truly stuck, I suggest a batt-pull reboot:
Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Do not disconnect not going away

I have a 60 gb video ipod. I have been uploading songs to my ipod before and all of a sudden, it stopped putting them on my ipod. I would watch it transfer in itunes but as soon as i took my ipod off the dock the songs wont be on there.
And another thing. I have to manually eject my ipod now because the do not disconnect screen never goes away even after it says update complete in itunes.

I have the same problem with my ipod nano. Itunes will not consolidate my library, new music will not transfer to my ipod, and whenever I connect my ipod, the "do not disconnect" never goes away. I have already reinstalled the program and I'm still having this problem. How can this be fixed?

  • New text message notification will not go away, but there are no new text messages

I've tried turning the phone off and on again about a million times. I've tried deleting the text message thread that it should have been talking about. I've restored my settings, I've erased the entire phone and then restored from itunes... and IT'S STILL THERE. Stupid little red "1" in the text message icon. When I click on messages, it just opens to the screen showing all your threads. I've obviously checked all, and there are no unread messages...and even if there was 1 unread message like it's saying, when I click on messages it should open up directly to it, but it doesn't, because there isn't one.
Don't know what else to try. Anyone have any suggestions or heard of this before? Thank you so much, I appreciate all help!

Try stopping and restarting the Messages app: double tap the home button to bring up the recently used apps list at the bottom, locate the Messages app icon (swiping if necessary), press and hold it until it jiggles, tap the red minus sign.  Open and close messages again and see if that clears it.  If not, stop it again followed by resetting your phone: hold on/off and home buttons simultaneoulsy for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), release and wait for the phone to restart.

  • Trouble with removing erroneus keywords, they're not going away?

I'm trying to clean up some poorly keyworded images by removing improper keywords and replacing them with the appropiate keywords.  When I do this, then hit sync metadata, the old keywords do not go away.  thoughts?

I have also faced this problem.  (I'm using Ver 2.5)
I have found that keywords are treated differently than other metadata, not part of it as I expected.
(Note to LR designers: I think Keywords should be included as part of metadata synch - or have their own separate synch.)
To resolve this problem with LR  v. 2.5, I select all the images I want to change in Library
Then I go to keywords and manually change the keyword set by adding new or removing existing keywords.
Note: You may need to manually add your new keywords in the "click here to add keywords" box in Library before you can make the global edit.
All selected images accept the keyword changes this way.

  • IPhone 4S ios7 message notifications not going away

My "messages" icon shows that I have 6 new messages but I've read them and they are still showing up as a little 6 in a red circle. I've done a reset of settings, a full restart and everything. I turned off my iMessages and nothing is working. They aren't iMessages they are text messages all from the same number.

This has happened to me twice after updating to ios7 on my iPhone 4s. Both times it occured after recharging the battery directly from a household electrical outlet. The first thing to do is to turn off the phone, and then turn it back on. This has worked for me so far.
    From Apple's ios 7 user guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
See page 150 for restarting instructions. Basically, just turn the phone off. Wait a moment, then turn it back on.
