Message search won't search Names

About 2 weeks ago, my message app started acting up - When I type a name into the spotlight search field, nothing comes up. For example, if I'm searching for a text from "Amy" (and she is the most recent text) and I type "A" in, a few messages pop up, but if I type "Amy," no messages come up. It appears to be searching the content of the texts, but not the names. I've tried restarting, flipping through the settings without help. Any advice? Thanks!

When I try to connect to a link I receive the message "Search bookmarks and history" and FF won't connect to the link requested. VER FF 3.6.6. Windows7; 64 bit.

I have currently FF 3.6.8 running under Windows XP 32 bit. I am using Multiproxy Switch ver 1.33 add-on to switch between multiple proxies.
My FF starting page is http://www.google.com/ncr . When I start Firefox and the actually configured proxy is unreachable, I get the usual message that the page cannot be opened ("Try again"). Then I switch to another proxy or to direct connection. Normally the desired page (google) opens. But in case I switch the proxy before the error message appears, this grayed message "Search Bookmarks and History" appears instead of the URL in the URL input field and I have to retype the URL.
Remark: I would really like to have this function "Searching Bookmarks and History" available in Firefox, because I often do this kind of search and need 4 clicks to get there (Bookmarks-Organize Bookmarks-Bookmarks Menu-and then input my search criteria).

Because I know enough to be dangerous... I was trying to extend the two outside columns down.... Instead of just using faux columns which I have fixed since I posted the question.
The other link problem is the left sidebar links. When you go to the event photos page I have a repeat of the sidebar links that are on the newsletter page. I used named anchors on the newsletter page to link to the particular article. From the Event Photos page the links look like this:

The problem I am having is that some of these go to the newsletter page and the anchor and some do not (I get an error message saying it can't find the page). To add to the problem is that when we choose say the President's Message, when it goes to the newsletter page and the correct anchor, the newsletter page is missing all the links to the graphics... the photos are missing the graphic for the faux columns is missing. It makes no sense. When I preview the newsletter page from Dreamweaver everything shows up fine.
I do not know if all of this is being caused because I haven't posted this stuff to the site or what. I've tried re-booting both the browser and Dreamweaver, dumping the cache and still the same nonsense.
Got any ideas?

Strange 'Entire Message' search problems on cloned external drive only

I'm having some strange problems with the 'Entire Message' spotlight style search function in Mail.
There are various threads on the forums about a similar problem, as can be found here:

However, here's the twist – it works perfectly fine on my computer, a late 2006 MBP with Tiger, but the 'Entire Message' search ONLY doesn't work when booting from the external hard drive, which is an EXACT clone using smart copy with super duper. Everything else works fine!
To give an example, when I type in a client's second name in Mail on my computer's HD, with 'Entire Message' enabled 400+ emails appear, when I type it in when booting from the external HD clone there was around 10 emails on the first attempt (whilst Mail was open at the same time) and there were 0 on my second clone attempt, whilst Mail and all other applications were closed. Enabling 'From' and 'To' works fine, just not the 'Entire Message' search.
I really need this critical function to work, as I'm about to loose my old computer and use it on a daily bases.
So any ideas anyone?

+Thanks Dave. I went to Betalogue and went through all the posts and I finally found a way to fix the Search Entire Message Spotlight problem in Apple Mail - at least it worked for me. I have been trying to fix this with all sorts of solutions for months and it turns out it was related to a problem with the Launch Services Database. I confirmed this by looking inside my user/library/mail folder and seeing that inside each Mailbox folder, the sub mailboxes all had standard folder icons and not the inbox tray style icons.+

If I was to do this myself, using Onyx that I've downloaded, and as described above, should I do it from the internal on to the clone? The trouble is I have 1 and a half days left with this computer and I need to use the 'Entire Message' search with mail practically that whole time as I'm totaling a large invoice for a client whilst looking at hundreds emails related to them, this is a nightmare.
Can you recommend me a cloud service that will let me download on to my emergency computer that's an old G4 Powermac with Panther? A tried ADrive and kept on getting the 302 error cod, and tried DriveHQ but it tells me to 'insert the volume related to the file' ............ these seem to work fine when downloading to my intel MBP though ....

I am getting an error while configuring the user defined message search.
Followed all the step mentioned in the sap help documentation.

The last step, where we need to enter URL for WSDL Access i am getting the following error:

Error in HTTP Framework:404Not Found

You should enter the host name and the HTTP port for the Advanced Adapter Engine
i didnt get the meaning of above sentence : Is it different from what we use in the URL to access ESR and ID.
Is there any other steps to make MessageSearch/MessageSearchImplBean available

I tried manual configuration but with no luck..opened a similar forum thread
I have applied the sap note suggested ,thinking that the error is due
to any source code.
The data synchronization is happening properly , but when i use test extractor button it throws the above mentioned error.
In the system details in have given the port number as 50700(which is visible in the link when we open integration builder page) and ESR client as 001.
could you please let me know if the exact values to be filled in transport setting.i just entered the port and client , other things
as default.

When using spotlight search on my 5s it will not show past text messages that haven't even been deleted even if I type a specific word that I know is in a message I want to search for. I have message search turned on in the spotlight settings.

When using spotlight search my phone will not show all text messages with a common word even though I have not deleted any messages from my phone and I have the message search turned on in settings under spotlight search. The search only shows the messages that are recent within the past day or so. Why won't it show the other messages when I search for them even using a specific word that I know was in the message I'm searching for.

It sounds like you are not getting notifications for new text messages that are coming in, and you must manually check the app. I recommend checking the Notification settings to see if they are configured correctly:

Internal query that is used during the message search from EMC

Hi,
We have a requirement where in we need to identify the internal query that is executed ( since there were few mails that are being deleted at production instance, so want to know the details) when we search for the data from the following navigation:
Oracle Email Center -> Messages -> Search.
Could you please help us out in knowing the exact query as early as possible as it is of high priority.

Let me explain how we solved our problem in brief:
- We have created a new infobject for item number with 5 digits
- We added this to the key in DEV system
- We created a copy of the active table how it would look like after transport on DB level
- We copied data 380 million records into the new table on DB level
- We renmade the active table to xxx_old to have a back-up and then re-created an empty active table via SE14
- We imported the transport when all 3 DSO tables were empty, which was very fast
- We dropped the empty active table
- We renamed the copy of the active table to carry the name of the active table
During this process we ensured beforehand that SIDs are available for the new IOBJ. We also filled the new IOBJ by copying the values from the 3-digit IOBJ.
All went well.

Mail no longer does Entire Message search

I am no longer able to get Mail to do an "Entire Message" search. When I type a word in the Search box, the 'Entire Message' button appears "grayed out", and the only options available with All Mailboxes are From, To, and Subject. I did a Rebuild, I checked the settings in Preferences for searching Trash, Junk, Encrypted Messages (not that those should matter), I'm using a POP server, etc This seems to have just started since the 10.5.7 update. Quit Mail, open System Preferences>Spotlight>Privacy, and add your Macintosh HD to the list. Wait a couple of minutes, and then remove your Macintosh HD from the Privacy list. You should notice (after a short delay) that Spotlight is reindexing your HD. After Spotlight completes the index, open Mail and see if your search works.

User defined message search on Archived messages in PI 7.31

Hello Experts,
We are using XMLDAS to archive the messages of the adapter engine into a file system.
User defined search is working fine for the messages in the database, based on the UDMS criteria, in database tab of message monitoring. And as per SAP, "Extracted attributes are archived together with the message and could be used for searching".
But for us,once the messages are archived into a file system, the UDMS criteria is not working from the archive tab in message monitor.We are able to retrieve the messages in the archive tab based on the message id and also the payload content from it but not using UDMS.
Please let us know if we need to do any specific configuration for the UDMS criteria to work on archived messages as well.

Also I believe you are searching for new / fresh messages after you configured UDMS. I believe it will not show up old message list prior to UDMS config.

Performance restrictions using User-Defined Message Search in PI 7.1 EhP1

Hi Gurus,
We want to apply the User-Defined Message Search in our productive system.
We also want to set the extractors to run during Message Processing .
Do you have any inputs on how this might affect the system performance?
Any best practices, previous experiences or thoughts on that?
Some of my questions:
How many Filters/Extractors would be a limit to not affect too much the messaging processing performance?
Running the extractors during message processing would greatly affect the performance? When to run the extractors in a batch job instead of runtime?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

PI 7.3 Dual Stack User-Defined Message Search

Hi All,
I have implemented an Integrated configuration scenario SOAP-> PI – ABAP Proxy the scenario is sync the. The scenario has no mapping so
no operation mapping exist in the configuration scenario.
I tried setting up UDMS on the java stack without any success.
My questions are: is it possible to use UDMS if there is no mapping steps? And also does UDMS work for sync messages?

"User Defined Message Search enables to search for asynchronous messages using the information available in payload or adapter-specific message attributes."
Last time we tried to configure UDMS for sync messages, but we were not able do that.

I having been trying out the new user-defined message search in PI 7.3.1(with TREX). I am stuck on creating the search critera section and could not move forward. Here is how I define the filter:

ABAP stack configuration for content based message search in PI 7.

Hi experts,
I am trying to eanble Content based message search in PI7.11 SP10.
My requirement is to Filter message in PI moni based on a particular DeviceID field in the paylaod.I have set filters in SXMS_LMS_CONF.
But upon testing the extractor, the messages are extarcted based on the interface mentioned in the filter criteria, and not the particluar field of the message.
I have referred a few bolgs on this topic , but could not find a relevant solution to my issue. Am i missing any configurations in this? Or is his not possible without TREX.
Could anyone suggest a solution for this.

Performance impact of Content based message search in IE

Hello Experts,
I am working on implementing Content based message search in IE in PI 7.0 and PI 7.1 landscape.
All the configurations are done and its working fine in Development scenario.
I need help in identifying , how this actually works on technical level as in how the messages are getting searched based on the filter criteria, if there is any table getting created in background and values are getting stored etc.
And also how could this impact the overall performance after implementing it in Production system.

Not sure about 7.0/1 but for 7.4 these are the tables.(most probably tables should be same)
When you configure a filter for UDMS search on ABAP stack(Tcod: sxms_lms_conf)
Entries will be created in the following backed ABAP tables. (you can go to se16 and check the entries).
SXMS_LMS_EXTR
SXMS_EXT_FIL
SXMS_NSPREFIX
Data will be stored in this table
SXMSPDATA
When you configure a UDMS filter in RWB(java stack), entries will be created in the following backend tables
XI_AF_LMS_EXTRACTR
XI_AF_LMS_FILTER
Data will be stored in the table (only the message id, direction, key field,value and position)
XI_AF_LMS_DATA
We have UDMS configured in our production system, and i never saw any performance issue.

Indexing Failed - User-Defined message search

I am trying to set-up a user-defined message search in our PI 7.3 system. After having created a filter and defined a search criteria, SAP says to "create an index of the messages that match the active filters and search criteria" [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/48/b2e0186b156ff4e10000000a42189b/content.htm]
Every time I try to run indexing it fails. I don't know why as there is no help-button available and I haven't found anyone experiencing the same issue. Anyone else experienced the same issue?
Also - using XPath - do I have to consider any particular namespace prefix etc for PI messsages? I have tested my XPath on payload XML in XMLSpy, but the search functionality seem to expect a different format on the XPath syntax...

I have set this up for an interface now. I am not sure how important the index job is because
the indexing job worked in the dev system, never stopped in QA and failed in prod. Anyway the message search works in all three systems.
