Message Server in place of Application Server in DS Datastore

Hi,
I'm trying to configure my SAP Application Datastore, linking it to the SAP message server instead of one of the four SAP application nodes available.
The idea is to let the message server manage on which node the DS abap will be executed.
I tried by replacing the Application server name both with message server ip and its fully qualified domain name, leaving target host empty, but it does not work.
Both changes returned a "Cannot establish database connection" as I tried  to apply them.
Any suggestion ?
Thanks and Happy New Year
Achille
P.S.: DS version is 12.2.2.0

U can put the ip of the host server or the hostname of the server. How can you put the company's name. And wven if you put the company name which machine it will connect.
But if you want to do it by any means then do it as under\
In the frontend computer got to---->Windows->system32-->Drivers--->etc
There will be a file hosts.
make the following entry in this file
192.168.0.xxxx     company name
means the ip of the sap server   your company name
Use this name in the sapgui setting.
But the restriction is that in every frontend machines this entry has to be mentioned.

    Hi,
Can anybody please let me know how to define company name in place of static Ip in SAPGUI 6.40.
    I am using AIX 5.3L / Oracle 9.x / ECC 5.0
I have given static IP in the space provided for application server which I don't want. I want to give company initials (XYZ) in place of application server for the safety purpose.
    Thanks in advance

  • Print System.out.println messages into logs of Weblogic Application Server

    Hi,
I use Weblogic Application Server 10.3.6 on Windows 7. The Enterprise Application (J2EE) is deployed into the 'AdminServer' of Weblogic. For debugging purpose, I have added a few System.out.println statements.
I am unable to see the print messages on any of log files available in path 'user_projects > domains > base_domain > servers > AdminServer > logs'. However, I can see them on the 'command' prompt which was used to start the server. How can I get them into one of the log files? What am I missing?
I tried reading other threads on the forum and as per them 'System.out.println' gets logged onto *.out logs which I am unable to find. Only base_domain.log, AdminServer.log, access.log are available in the location.
    More Specifics:
Configuration on WLS console 'Home > Servers > AdminServer > Logging'
    Log file name: logs/AdminServer.log
Min. Severity to log: Notice (tried with Debug as well)
    Advanced Options:
    Logging Implementation: JDK
Redirect stdout logging enabled: False (tried both options)
Log file Severity Level: Notice (tried with Debug as well)
Standard Out Severity Level: Notice (tried with Debug as well)
    Thanks

    Paul,
I just found this on google:
'Generally, developers put a lot of System.out.println statements in their code to perform application debugging. Normally, all standard outputs and error outputs are routed to the console where the OC4J server is started. If you want to capture the standard output and error outputs to files for logging/debugging purposes, then you can use the -out and -err options while starting up the Oc4J server to specify which files to use.'.

  • Pull compressed file (.gz format) via FTP and place on Application server

    Hello!
    Greetings.
We have a requirement where a compressed file in the format *.gz is to be pulled via FTP and saved to the application server after extracting.
I searched the forums and found options to pull text or XL files, but nothing about pulling a compressed file. I wished to know if there is any process for the same. After pulling the file, it is to be saved to Application server after extracting. My doubts are as below:
    1. How to pull a *.gz file via FTP (Need batch processing)
    2. Can I extract and rename th file before saving it to applciation server? Or I need a temporary location to place the file before extraction?
    Any inputs are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shishir.

    Hi Sandra.
    Thanks for the confirmation.
There is a change is the requirement. We need to Poll the FTP server for the file for the duration of one week every month.
When the file is found, we are to take the *.gz file, extract and put on the application server.
My question is how do we poll the application FTP server? I searched  the forums and found a few threads that say that an FTP adapter is to be setup for polling the FTP server and then we can schedule it using u201CAvailability Time Planningu201D.
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/11/26/adapter-scheduling--hail-sp-19-
I wished to know if that is the only way to approach this requirement.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shishir.

  • Exception/error messages from remotely deploying sun application server 8.2

    Hi
I have a solaris network with some servers running sun application server 8.2. When I deploy applications to these application servers (using ant) from a single server connected to them on the netwrok, sometimes exceptions are thrown. What is done now, is the person doing the deploying from the central server, logs onto each server with an appserver and looks through each application servers log file to see if there were any exceptions thrown while deploying apps on that server. What I would like to do is find some way to have those exceptions sent back to the deploying system so that they can show up on the terminal from which the any script was run.
appserver <------------------------- central server running ant -----------------------------------> appserver
    / | \
    / | \
    / | \
    / | \
    / | \
    appserver appserver appserver
Many appservers getting apps deployed to them through the use of ant. Want to catch any exception thrown by any of the appservers and view on terminal on central server running ant.
    Any ideas/thoughts?
    Thanks...
    Mike

The diagram did not come the way I had hoped. It was suppose to look like the "central server running ant" was pointing to a number of different servers running an appserver.
    Thanks for any suggestions...

  • Creating a connection pool using SQL Server 2000, Sun ONE Application Serve

Has any one succesfully configured SQL Server 2000 to work with Sun ONE Application Server 7 on Windows 2000 server service pack 4? I am embarking on a new J2EE project and I need to configure it as soon as possible.
The problem I am having is that, when I ping the data souce name, there is a connection error.
I have set the data source name and other details as follows:
Under JDBC, I have set the parameters for the connection pool as follows:
    Data Source Name:      com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Database Name:          jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Test
    User:               test
    Password:          test
In the JVM settings page, I have set the prefix class path as follows for the location of the Microsoft JDBC
drivers that I downloaded as follows:
    c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msbase.jar
    c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msutil.jar
    c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/mssqlserver.jar
Under JVM Options, there is a strange setting which I don't understand: perhaps this is the cause of the
    connction error?
    -Djdbc.drivers=com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver
    Please help????

  • BPEL Server installation on JBOSS application Server on SUN SOLARIS

I have a question about Oracle BPEL installation. For our project exists the requirement, to install BPEL Server on SUN SOLARIS, whereby the appropriate Version of Application server JBOSS already exists and it should be used.
The version of the Oracle BPEL server for JBOSS, which we found on the Download side, is made available only with JBOSS (version 3.2.6) in a Package.
During the BPEL server installation this bound JBOSS server version is installed automatically, without giving selection. Is there a BPEL installation for JBOSS on SUN-SOLARIS, which can be installed at the already existing JBOSS server?

    Hi There,

  • FTP Server in SAP Web Application Server

    Hi,
Would like to know if SAP Web Application Server comes with built-in FTP Server.
    Thanks

    Hi,
FTP Server is not built in WAS. Integrate third-party products, tools, and applications, SAP Web Application Server supports several open connectivity standards, including the J2EE Connector Architecture and Microsoft .NET connectivity.
A wide range of protocols and formats is supported for communication with SAP, non-SAP, and third-party components. SAP Web Application Server is open to the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), Component Object Model+ (COM+), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and SMTP to connect to non-SAP systems.
IDoc and HTTP adapters sit on ABAP stack and the rest of the adapters(File, JDBC, SOAP etc) sit on JAVA stack.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is an open protocol for exchanging files on a server.

  • LabVIEW 2013 Web Service works on debug server but not on application server

I have made a LabVIEW web service, that needs to get 2 inputs from the user through html request, and one input from a running VI. For this communication I have used a notifier to transfer data between the VI and the webservice method. This works perfectly fine on the debug server, but doesn't work when I deploy the web service on the Application Web Server. As shown in the attached snippets, I use a FGV to transfer the reference of the Notifier from the VI to the web service method. This is the same method that is described in this link.
Is this method correct? Or am I missing something?

I can't find the right link but....
There is something I ran across a while ago about how to enable the correct server port in you application.  The VI Server debug port gets enabled with debugging enabled but, you need to specify your services port in the <MyApp>.ini file.
I'll sit back and watch the masters now

  • Migration from Weblogic 8.1 SP1 server to Sun Java Application Server 8

    Hi,
I have to migrate an existing application from Weblogic 8i to Sunone Application Server 8.
Can anyone please help me to know the kind of problems encountered in such a migration.
Also, If i have to port an application which uses 'Mssql' as the backend in weblogic and migrate it to sunone server and use Oracle as backend what r the changes to be made??
Also, If any weblogic specific api's or tag libraries are used then what r the changes to be made at the time of migration.?
    Thanks in advance
    Geeta

The type of issues you will encounter migrating this app depends on its complexity and how observant the programers were to writing portable code.
You will need to determine how compatible Mssql is to Oracle.
There may be changes you will need to make in the app deployment descriptors for this data.
You will need to replace the weblogic specific API's and tags.
This may require class substition, or writing emulators for the
APIs, or rewriting the code to not use these APIs.
The AVK can help you identify such portability issues.

  • Integrating Sun Java Directory Server with Sun Java Application Server 7

    Hi,
My basic goal is to implement Single Sign On within the network i,e if the user is inside the company's network and tries to access any application, then he should not be required for Username/password again becuase he is in the network.
My question is Is this possible with Sun Java System DIrectory server. If yes how can we integrate Directory Server with Sun Java System Application Server 7 2004Q2.
    Please help.
    Thanks

Directory Server in itself doesn't provide any kind of SSO functions. Basically it is a high performing data repository accessible via LDAP and DSML. It is, however, a key component used by SSO applications like Access Manager. If your applications are web applications then take a look at Access Manager for your SSO needs.

  • Oracle 10g Database Server or Oracle 10g Application Server

    Greetings and Salutations!
I need to install APEX 3.01 for development purposes and I'm wondering if I need to do an Oracle 10g Database Server installation, an Oracle 10g Application Server installation, and then the APEX 3.01 installation, or is there another way such as an Oracle 10g Application Server installation and then the APEX 3.01 installation.
I'm confused and I need advice.
    Thanks,
    Charles

Apex software runs inside the database using the database's PL/SQL engine.
Apex software is accessed via HTTP requests that may be sent to an HTTP server as included on the database 'companion CD' or in the Application Server.
Apex installation is described in the APEX install manual at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/index.html

  • Is any SMTP server included in the Application Server

    Hi,
My system is configured to send emails using an external SMTP server, however the initial configuration of it was using it's own IP (localhost).
Since I'm new at SAP, I would like to know if by any chance there is already an SMTP server in the system. (And if there is were do I configure it, so far I only know SCOT transaction).
    Thanks

No, SAP doesn't provide an SMTP server. The SMTP node in scot is only pointing to another SMTP system..
    Kind regards,
