Message "switch to mobile site". Not sure what this means
When I am surfing the web I keep getting a pop up that says "switch to mobile site". I'm not sure what this means since I don't have a mobile site. I am new to the Ipad so I am looking for help.
Many websites have a link at the bottom of the page that says "Mobile" or "Mobile Site" or something to that effect. If you tap on that it will take you to the version of the website that is best suited for mobile devices, iPads, iPhones, etc. The mobile sites are optimized for mobile devices and will include videos that will be viewable in iOS that were created in html5 rather than Flash which is no longer supported on mobile devices and never was supported in iOS. When you see that message look for the link somewhere on the website or just tap OK if it gives you the option to switch to the mobile version in the popup message.
Some websites have a Mobile Button that is quite visible at the top of the home page. You can see the Mobile button here under the word Events on the NFL.com home page.

How do I manuall add users to my PATH , and what does this mean ?and what does this mean?
For security and performance sake you don't want the shell to search every directory on disk when you type a command name, so your $PATH is a list of directories that the shell searches when you type a command. It's what allows you to avoid having to type (or even know) which directory any particular command is in - you can type its name and the shell will find it if it exists within one of the pre-defined directories.
If the command in question is not in your $PATH, you can still launch it by specifying it's full path (e.g. '/path/to/some/command' rather than just 'command').
What's happening here is that the installer script is trying to prepend the directory where you installed this app to your $PATH which means that the shell will look in that directory first, before any other directory, and allow you to type its name rather than its full path.
What the install script is complaining about is that it's trying to add /Users/ehutchin/downloads/mclite/bin to root's $PATH, but it can't because there isn't a login script for root that it can update.
Since you're installing this application as root I would seriously check the application first before doing this. Prepending means that this app's directory is the first one checked and could represent a security risk (for example, someone could install a rogue application that you use frequently (like 'ls') that would get called before the standard system /bin/ls. Not a good idea.
Appending the path might be acceptable, but you might not want to do it for root at all - do you expect to run this app as root?
So your options are numerous:
1) Do nothing. Doesn't represent any kind of security risk and you can always run the app by specifying it's full path (/Users/ehutchin/downloads/mclite/bin/commandname' rather than just 'commandname'. Probably the best option if you don't expect to leave the app there long-term (are you really going to leave it in your downloads directory?)
2) Add the path to your user's $PATH. That way you can run the command when logged in under your own user account. For sanity's sake append the path, do not prepend it.
3) Create a login script for the root user and add it there. That's what the installer is trying to do but I think this is a really bad idea.
In the short term, if you're just checking out the app, I'd opt for #1 and implement #2 once you're sure about the app and where it will live long-term. -
I Down loaded two movies to watch on a flight. When I tried to watch either one of them it said " not authorized to watch this content" and it would load to watch. I donot believe I have child controls on.
I have read about some cases where movies rented or purchased on one device will not play on another device. Seems to happen mostly with Apple TV and iPads. One way some have worked around it is to cable from the downloaded device to a TV or Apple TV.
Were these movies purchased or rented from iTunes? Not sure, but that almost sounds like a iTunes Password problem. Maybe try checking that you're signed in as the same account that purchased the movies. -

I went to upgrade my version of Firefox and was able to download the newer version, but when I went to install it, the system asked if I wanted to replace the old with the new (the only option given), and when I said 'yes' the system popped up with "you are unable to do this because you have insufficient privileges." Not sure what that means. I have been able to download other things just fine.If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

I received a second iPad Air as a gift and sold on Ebay. The person who bought it asked if is a Oem pad. Not sure what that means. The model part number is PF004LL/A.
You can see the model number in Settings>General>About>Model. The model number has a two-letter code, a number and some more letters. The last part stands for the country/region. The first letter can be "F" (refurbished), "M" (normal retail), or "P" (personalized / engraved). For example MC605B is the model MC605 and B is for the region.

emails in my 'trash' are being deleted after about 5 weeks, but I want to retain them. I have selected 'never' on the 'permanently erase deleted messages' option, so I'm not sure why this happening? any ideas?
iCloud emails in the Trash are deleted after 30 days on the website, and this over-rides the 'never' setting in Mail. There is no way of stopping this. (The Trash isn't really intended as a permanent storage area.)
Try this workaround. Go to http://www.icloud.com and go to the Mail page. In the sidebar, click on '+' to the right of 'Folders' to create a new folder; give it a suitable name.
Now click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left. At the bottom of the pane which opens, set the 'Move deleted messages to' drop-down menu to your new folder.
I'm not sure whether, when you delete messages in the Mail application, they will go to the Trash or your new folder - you'll need to experiment. I have a nasty feeling that Mail will simply move them to the Trash as before. If this is the case you will have to move them to your new folder manually - dragging messages directly to this folder rather than hitting the delete key will be the easiest way. -

According to your post, my understanding is that you got the funky error from the PowerPivot Management Dashboard Processing Timer Job.
The error means that there is no such file which exists on that location. If the PowerPivot was removed but the target application remained, it was trying to refresh on schedule and was failing.
In general we can disable the setting to disallow users to use their own credentials by following below steps:
1. Central Admin->Application Management->Manage Service Applications
2. Click the PowerPivot service application name. The PowerPivot Management Dashboard appears.
3. In Actions click Configure service application settings to open the PowerPivot Service Application Settings
4. In the Data Refresh section clear the “Allow users to enter custom Windows credentials” checkbox.

I get an error message on Lynx, can someone tell me what this means?
When I check my home page on lynx I get what I would expect 2 links to 2 galleries below that the alt text for my logo and the photograph, and the footer info with an e-mail link. If I click any link I get a message "Bad Request - Your browser sent a request this server could not understand, the request contained invalid characters following the protocol string." All the links on the site www.hayhurst-photography.com do work. Should this show the next page (there are 42 others each have a table with 21 links + 3). Can you tell me what this means? and which are the invalid characters?
Thanks ChrisI just tested your pages using Firefox and IE7. I could click on both Business and Commercial links and venture into the inner pages with no error message showing up at all. Clicking on any of the thumbnails showed the larger images, again, with no error messages.

Im not sure how to get his phone to come back on. Ive never seen an iphone do this. He updated to the latest version and it came up with a plug in on the screen with an arrow pointing to an itunes app looking thing. Read up on creating custom presets. Just be aware that there is no 32/12 available but 32/16 works fine.
If you wish to stay in the 48/16 world, you can unlink your 32/12 audio, export your audio only, resample it in QT Pro, Soundtrack Pro or another audio editor (eg Peak) to 48/16 and bring it back into FCP. Once back in, relink it to the video and life is good.
