Message tracking and disk usage

hello,
I cannot find answer in documentation...
what happens if disk quota for message tracking is full?
a) message tracking is stopped
b) oldest messages will be overwritten
which possibility is correct?
how much is slowdown performance if message tracking is enabled? is it tha same slowdown on different boxes (1xx, 3xx, 6xx)?

Last year, you said the system is configured to never become 100% full, the system delete the oldest messages first prior... but what can we do if the tracking database is absolutely full?
I have two Ironman M1060 in version 7.7.0-206.
One of them is full:
Centralized Message Tracking
Processing Queue: 101.0%
So the message tracking doesn't work anymore:
Message Tracking
Could not establish connection to Message Tracking service.
To change the size of quota doesn't change anything.
Do you know any way to drop a part of logs, the oldest ones?
Because, in accord of our law, we must save six months of logs at least.

Hi there,
Has everyone ever experienced this weird bug?
Everytime I launch Messages App, my available disk space goes down almost by 15 Gb, making my hard drive instantly full, and my computer unusable.
The only solution I found is to force quit Messages App, and never use it again
I have a MacBook Retina, that I bought a month ago.
It's been working super fine since I got it, apart from that stupid bug that appeared two days ago.

I would start with a PRAM reset
Shut down the computer.
Restart it holding down Apple/CMD ( or ⌘)+ALT( ⌥)+P+R Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
DO you have notion of how many Conversations Messages may be trying to show in the left hand column of the Message window ?
(Saves Messages and the iMessages database are already held on the computer so I don't really see this as the issue)

Message Tracking and Queue Viewer access is denied - Exchange 2010

I am experiencing Message Tracking and Queue viewer problems on my exchange server.
Message Tracking problem
When i run message tracking via EMC or powershell, i receive the following error;
Failed to connect to the Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search server on computer "myserver.mydomain.com.br". Verify that a valid computer name was used and the Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search service is started on the target computer. The
error message is: "Access is denied".
Exchange Transport Log Search service is confirmed running and have tried by restarting the service
Logon user is a member of Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins and Exchange Organization Administrators
Message Tracking Logs are generated properly
Queue Viewer problem
When i run Queue viewer, i receive the following error;
The Queue Viewer operation on computer "myserver.mydomain.com.br" has failed with exception. The error message is: Access is denied. It was running command.............................................................
My server information are as follow;
4 Exchange Server 2010 sp3
2 Mailbox Server and 2 Hub/CAS
Mail-flow is working fine
What should I grant permission for a group of users can have access to the Message Tracking ?

High CPU and Disk usage on HP Envy TS 15 j-155nf after Windows Update

I bought this laptop about a month ago and it worked perfectly fine until the second automatic Windows Update. The booting time got very slow and the entire system started to act laggy. Task Manager showed higher CPU usage than usual and Disk usage was sometimes up to 100% with no apps opened or running in the background. I decided to perform System Recovery using HP Recovery Manager. The laptop worked fine again after that, but then the same thing happened. After the second automatic Windows Update I'm back to a slow and laggy computer. I'm performing System Recovery again, but what can I do to prevent that from happening ?

There are few things you can check:
i) Check if you have more than one anti-virus installed..Check for Trial versions.If there is any then uninstall it.
(Sometimes it could be that you have an anti-virus and windows defender or security essentials is also installed)
ii) Next try a Clean Boot and check if it makes a difference. If clean boot fixes the issue then it has to be one of the application on the startup which is slowing it down..
How to perform a clean boot
iii) Run HP Support Assitant and check if there are any pending updates..
Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

Warranty Void query(High Impotence) AND DISK USAGE 100% NEED HELP!!!

I Have an HP Dv6 pavillion 7011tx. after i upgraded this laptop to windows 8, i observed that the disk usage (in task manager) always shows 100% activity..had an Clean boot, tried all the disk checks and management things . rebooted th pc again with windows 8 but still the problem continues..
i dont think there is any solution to this problem as i have seen many many more other posts similar to this problem
COMING TO MY QUERY,
I think that the problem is with bios config, my hardisk type is SATA but the bios has it set to EF mode currently .
Which has made my pc very very slow The insyde h20 bios sucks!
Bios utlilty doesnt has the option even to change it. Is there any solution to this problem?

Hi,
Disk Usage 100% does not mean disk full but there is task which is doing a lot of i/o during that time (probably swap/page file). If nothing using i/o, the number should be down to 0% as shown:
Now, I start a download, you can see both disk usage and Networks activities:
In your case, the utility may do a lot of i/o to the swap/page file. My suggestion: stop it or BUYING MORE RAM.

how do we track the batches and material usage analysis in case of any customer complaint?

You can use the reports BMBC, MB56, MCRE, MCRX.
If you want to track by batch wise then batch traceability report MB56.

External edits and disk usage

Does external editings result to higher disk usage?
I've a master non-referenced image (6MB) stored in Aperture. Subsequently, I've modified it using an external editor. After each edition, the modification are stored as separate versions under Aperture.
Is it correct that each external edited version is stored in full size (6MB) each? For example, I've made 4 editions, therefore, I would have used 24MB (6MB x 4) of disk space.

When you export an image to an external editor, Aperture gives you a choice of whether to send it as a PSD or Tiff. Tghios choice is made in Preferences. It comes back as a stacked Version, but in reality is atleast the size of your Master. This is something that hopefully Aperture will change in 2.0. You should learn to take full advantage of the modifications you can make in Aperture. Obviously, there are some beyond its capabilities. Hopefully this too will be dealt with to some extent in 2.0.

Major Lion Flaw: Uncontrollable Logging and Disk Usage

Okay, after reading a few users' problems I double checked myself just in case. I opened up the console app, and there were hundreds, if not thousands of logs just in the past 2 hours. And when I say 'get info' on Macintosh HD the used disk space is increasing every 5 to 10 seconds. This is the only concerning bug/glitch of noticed in Lion since upgrading. Everything else seems to work (almost) perfectly. However, until this major flaw is fixed, I'm planning on using Snow Leopard. Question is: how do I do that? How do I clear my Macintosh HD completely, and install Snow Leopard, with a clean drive? Thanks.

I think, maybe, this is Snapshots using available disk space. It will equally make space if needed. The information the user gets is still a problem. I have submitted a Bug Report.
Is that only applicable to laptops and can it be turned off on Time Machine?

Nano 3rd Generation and Disk Usage

Hey my Ipod Nano 3rd Generation is showing up with Less disk space than i have on my Itunes... I have 172 songs on my itunes and thats only about 2.5 GBs of space but when i sync up my Nano it says i have 4.5 GBs of space. Anybody else having this problem? Where have my other 2 GB gone? I have no videos no photos or any other data Just 172 songs... Any thoughts?

You will have to purchase either a retail version of Tiger or Leopard. You cannot upgrade to either freely.

"Other" category and Disk Usage

Hi, could someone please tell me if the "Other" category (in About my Mac) is too large, or if this is normal.
It would also be great if someone could explain what is making up these 17GB.... it seems too large. There is nothing in the Trash, nor in the iPhoto trash.
I have re-indexed my HDD/SSD, just before I took the screenshot, as has been suggested in these forums.
The Pictures folder (21 GB) is quite close to the combination of Photos and Movies indicated in "About my Mac" (17GB and 5.7GB), so this seems ok.
iTunes music section shows 10.6GB compared to 12GB in the Music folder and 13GB in "About my Mac." I don't believe this is due to files being deleted from iTunes, but being kept, as I always select the "Move to Trash" option. My iTunes library contains no apps, TV shows, iTunes U or Movies. I have only 1 iPhone back up - I back this up to iCloud.
Time Machine back-ups I do manually (Time Machine = Off), so there should not be any temporary back-ups on the HDD/SSD.
Adding up what is shown in Finder does not match the 'Overall space' (95GB) shown in "About this Mac → Storage."
Why is this?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can't see why anyone would want it though. 4GB SD cards and a USB reader are about £15 now. Just use one of those for files and keep your precious +iPod touch+ space for media content.

Before I go looking at documentation to see how I would like to find out if it is possible, with Oracle SOA Suiet 11g R1 PS2/3 B2B, to configure the B2B Web Console in such a way that a 3rd party can be given view access to message tracking and/or KPIs for partnerships that involve their messages only?
The purpose of this is to selectively provide visibility to 3rd parties and minimise the effort the hosting infrastructure support needs to go to to help troubleshoot messaging issues.

and where do I look to find out how to created the users, the roles and the assignments So if you are working with default Weblogic LDAP, then you have to just create a user on Weblogic and assign it to appropriate group. Then assign a specific role to this user on B2B console (because B2B uses the Weblogic's security framework for authentication & authorization). Visualize Ram / disk usage desktop application

Hey everyone,
I want to experiment with visualizing realtime ram usage / disk usage in the desktop background, it should also be a bit interactive (when the user moves his mouse the color could change for example) i want to start very basic.
Can someone point me in the right direction how to begin this? I can program in C#/asp.net, i saw some f# examples but i don't even know how to run them :)

For the visualization, you can use the DataVisualizetion package from the WPF ToolKit [2].

Exchange Load Gen - Empty email in message tracking - Expected?

1. After running Exchange Load Gen, we checked the message tracking and it doesn't have any message passed through Message Tracking tool. Is this expected?
2. During running of Exchange Load gen, when we login to the test mailboxes OWA, there is no emails as well. Is this expected?

Ntoskrnl.exe 100% disk usage windows 8.0 and 8.1

This is a bug report. I hope Microsoft will take it seriously as it took me a whole day and much stress to track it down. Basically my problem was the same as this: http://slopjong.de/2013/04/23/extremely-high-disk-activity-with-windows-8-and-how-to-fix-it/
However in the graphic on this site it appears to show that Virtualbox is the culprit. However this is unlikely to be the case, as the author of the site fixed his problem by following his own advice. This is an extremely common problem as this Google search

To attempt to address my own problem first I disabled all non-microsoft services in Windows 8.1 professional. When this had no effect on the problem, I then disabled all non-essential Microsoft services. In turn. when this has no effect I disabled all user
installed start-up items. Again when this failed to have an impact, I changed my browser from Firefox to Google Chrome, as I noted that the extremely high disk utilisation was at it's worst when using Firefox. This also had no effect.
I then tried a variation of my search on Google "ntoskrnl.exe 100 disk usage windows 8" (I can't remember the exact variation) and stumbled over the above site at the beginning of this message. I had by that point tried everything that was in my power
to try. But I noted from this article that the author recommended changing the power plan from 'balanced', to 'high performance'. Since I had exhausted every other avenue, I decided to try this and like magic, instantly it worked. So there is clearly
a bug in Windows 8.1 (and 8 prior to this) that causes 100% disk utilisation. I thought someone at MS might like to know about it and come up with a way to fix it.
Below is my system configuration. Please note this system configuration may contain a number of errors, as it was generated with several non-essential Microsoft services disabled. I do not believe these issues need to be addressed. However the issue of 100%
disk utilisation when using a 'balanced' power plan on Windows 8.1 (and 8.0) almost certainly does.

This message board system will not allow me to post my full system configuration. MS need a better bug reporting system! Apple allow the public to submit bug reports, so why not Microsoft too. The public can find useful bugs!
