Message tracking display and reporting
Hi,
I am newish to the email appliance. We have a c370.
I am told we need reports daily detailing each email address leaving the ironport each day.
If we could also see the sending address that would be great.
message tracking seems to have this information but there are two problems:
1. it only lists 250 items.
2. i cannot schedule this report?
Any ideas as to the 2 items?
You are correct, this is not possible because:
- Tracking can show only up to 1000 items.
- It is not possible to schedule Tracking searches.
There is an Internal Users Report that tracks how many clean/threat messages for each user. However, these are just counters and will not show the details for each message. I'd still suggest looking over that page (from Monitor tab) to see if it meets your needs.
So the only other suggestion I can offer is manually parsing the mail_logs each day for all the required data. Sorry.

OttoCan you define "sometimes" a bit more?
Is it after a number of runs of a report?
Is it on a particular report?
Is it after you do certain operations on the report (paging, zooming, dill down, print, etc., etc.)?
Can you duplicate the issue if you isolate the report to a new test app?
Did you happen to notice if the issue existed prior to FP 3.5?
Is this on your dev computer or a client computer?
OS?

Exchange 2010 Message Tracking Logs and Calendar appointments
A little context here... We consume our message tracking logs with splunk so I can easily search and locate entries as needed. I have an alert that generates an email when specific calendars accept a meeting request.
I can pull the meeting title and specific calendar name, but the problem I am having is determining when the "meeting" is scheduled. The data in the tracking logs shows me that the meeting was accepted today, but the actual meeting may not
be for a week or more in the future.
Is there any data in the tracking logs that can be translated to show the actual date of the meeting?
Here is an example sanitized meeting request and acceptance

Actual meeting date/time should be inside the meeting message under one of the message property which you can look by opening meeting in outlook or via MFCMapi if you want.

Can't keep message from displaying and won't allow iPod to power off
My iPod keeps displaying the message "Firewire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided. Press center to dismiss". This is displayed without any USB or Firewire cable attached to ipod. When I press the center to dismiss, it will go away and then come right back. I am not able to power it off either. I've reset and restored my iPod and neither has seemed to help. Any suggestions or solutions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Modifying UUT display and report
i want to modify some elements in the UUT mode:
A. I would like the UUT test run only once without the dialog box message popping.
B. I want to pass the serial number directly from the sequence (and will be shown in the xml report)
Thanks
yairhi yairn,
You will have to modify the Sequence "Test UUTs" in the actual process model "SequentialModel.seq" to achieve this.
There is a step in the main of "Test UUTs" that sends you back to where you enter the UUT serial number. You will need to skip this so that it carries on to PostUUTLoop step.
Depending if you want all your sequence file to perform in this manner for all project. You can either
a) Modify the Default Test UUTs in SequentialModel.seq and place your modify version in TestStand\Components\User\Models\TestStandModels
or if you wish to retain the default process model
b) Create a New SequentialMadel.seq based the Default SequentialModel.seq, changing the filename to match your requirement. Modified the required sequences and place the new sequence file in TestStand\Components\User\Models\TestStandModels. Then set this new sequence file as your Process Model in the properties of your test SequenceFiles. (See chapter 10 of the TestStand Reference Manual - Specifying a Specific Process Model for a Sequence File).
You can get the serial number from the lookup string "RunState.Root.Locals.UUT.SerialNumber".
Hope is is of help

Display Disclaimer message before opening SSRS report
Hello,
I have a requirement to display a disclaimer message before going to the content of a particular report.
The workflow would be:
go to report folder e.g. Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ItemPath=%2fMyFolder%2fReports&ViewMode=List
Click on Report x
Display Disclaimer
Press 'ok' on disclaimer
Continue to report
This is SSRS 2012 native.
I had contemplated injecting JavaScript into the report, but this appears virtually impossible to do i a simple manner.
I am stumped as best to how to proceed.
Regards,
MrHHHi MrHH,
Per my understanding that you want to display an popup window(disclaimer message) before display the report.
I have tested on my local environment and that we have two method to help you do this.
Method one is simple and more easy to add this action to a special report":
you can create an new report with the information of the disclaimer and add two textbox(Agree,Disagree) perform as the two button, then add "go to report" action for the two buttons, when click "Agree" link to the particular report,
if click on "disagree" will just refresh on this discalimer report.
Note: you need to deploy both the disclaimer report and the particular report to the report server, and when you click on the disclaimer report you will got the display result you want.
Method two:
This method is not that simple, i will give you some sample data to get the popup windows display before you can see the particular report, when you click the particular report you will get the popup window display with two buttons "Agree"
and "Disagree", when you click the "Agree" you will see the report content, when you click "Disagree" you will link back to the home page of the report manager.
Detail information below for your reference:
Add some code in the report.aspx file in the path similar to this:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Pages\Report.aspx
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jquery.ui/1.8.9/jquery-ui.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="http://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jquery.ui/1.8.9/themes/start/jquery-ui.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$("#dialog").dialog({
title: "jQuery Dialog Popup",
height: "200",
modal: true ,
buttons: {
"Agree": {
text: "Agree",
id: "my-button-id1",
click: function() {
$(this).dialog('close');
document.getElementById("bg").style.display = "none";
"Disagree": {
text: "Disagree",
id: "my-button-id2",
click: function() {
location.href = '/Reports'
</script>
<div id="bg" style="width:100%; height:100%;z-index:20000;background-color:silver" >
<div id="dialog" style="display: none;z-index:20001">
Please make sure you have read this information and understand clearly before enter the report.
</div>
</div>
Note: this sample code now works for all the report in the report manager, you can improve the code by add url to make it just work on the particular report.
2. Restart the Report Server instance in the Reporting Service Configuration manager and then open the report manager to have a test.
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

Messaging tracking logs filename format changed in Exchange Server 2013 sp1
Hi,
I have noticed that the file name format is changed for exchange server 2013 sp1.
Now it will have hh attached to it like
MSGTRKMSyyyymmddhh-n.log;
MSGTRKMDyyyymmddhh-n.log:
MSGTRKyyyymmddhh-n.log.
So the "hh" will goes from 00 to 23 for single day.
So Lets say at 24 april 2014 first fill is created @7.30 AM, so the first file name will be
MSGTRK2014042400-1.log. Now exchange server will create new file every hour by incrementing hh part of file name. Now the last file i.e
MSGTRK2014042423-1.log will be created on 25 April 2014 at 6.30 AM.
I am not able to understand why exchange server is creating the file with old date on next day ( with 24 April on file name time stamp on 25 April).
And also how it will be decided to create the first file @ 7.30 AM.
Can anyone explain to me about this ? Why it is happening like this?
Thanks
Sandeep GuptaHi Sandeep,
This could related to the time difference. What’s the time zone of your server? In my lab, many files in the last day were created in the next day. For example, files in 20140410
were created on 20140411.
Also, as you mentioned, the file name format is as:
MSGTRKMSyyyymmddhh-n.log;
MSGTRKMDyyyymmddhh-n.log:
MSGTRKyyyymmddhh-n.log.
However as I know, the format is like
MSGTRKyyyymmdd-m.log, it will not have “hh”(you mean hours) in the behind and the file is not created every hour but create a new file when the old is full. So please capture some screenshots of the message tracking files
and the date/time information of the file to verify.

How do I display a message in the message area of a report with SALV?
Hi,
How do I display a message at the bottom of the screen of a report (don't know the correct name for the area, but it's the area where error messages normally appear) using the CL_SALV_TABLE object model?
Is there a method in the object model somewhere that will place some text of my choosing in that area for me?
I hope I stated that in an understandable way.
If not, let me know and I'll try again.
Thanks for your help!
AndyHi Andrew,
you can issue an error message to be displayed as an error message:
MESSAGE ID .. TYPE 'S' NUMBER .. DISPLAY LIKE 'E'
TYPE 'S' messages are displayed in the status area of the next screen processed, program flow is continued after the message statement. The DISPLAY LIKE 'E' causes the message to be displayed in red color as an error message.

13 i_bdcerror-infty,
22 i_bdcerror-msgtype,
35 <b>i_bdcerror-msgtxt</b>.
ENDLOOP.
ENDIF.
the message text that i was getting contains &1, &2 and so on. how would i be able to replace it with the original value?
thanks!
-annAfter calling the transaction, this is what I do.
a) Call the function module, <b>MESSAGE_TEXT_BUILD</b> and pass the following values from <b>BDCMSGCOLL</b> or the internal table where you collect the messages.
i) MSGID
ii) MSGNR
iii) MSGV1
iv) MSGV2
v) MSGV3
vi) MSGV4
There is no need to fetch data using select from table t100.
It builds the message and returns in MESSAGE_TEXT_OUTPUT which can be then displayed to user.

Transaction code to display exception messages by material and plant
Hi,
Is there a transaction code or standard report in SAP to display exception messages by material and plant? I see the exception messages by individual material and plant in MD04 but I need to see a collective view. I tried Collective access in MD04 and MD46 but they are not giving me exception groups but I need exceptions listed out by material and plant.
Thanks.Visu,
I have never seen such a report.
MD06 does support fine tuning the output display, once the list has been generated. If you use this feature, the resulting display is the entire list as created by selecting the initial parameters (such as exception group), but with the specific items that contain your selected message highlighted. If you are addressing the messages interactively, you can select the review (glasses) screens, and scroll through just the ones which contain your selected exception message(s).
To try this, execute MD06. Select the groups as necessary. Execute. Wait for the list. Now, immediately, select 'search' (binoculars). Experiment with the output.
As mentioned in the previous post, if MD06 does not meet your needs, you will need to have a custom report written.

What is the difference between list display and grid display in alv report
Hai genious
i am a new of the abap, i dont know the alv report, i have a small doubt, can u please tell me what is the main difference between list display and grid display in alv report
thanks®ards
chinnuHi ,
1. For all practical purposes, they are the same.
2. Some differences:
a) from abap coding point of view,
alv list is done with Function modules,
alv gris can also be done with FM,
but can also be done using OO concepts.
b) Alv grid (using oo concept) requires
designing the screen layout .
Hence, in one screen, we can show more
then one alv grid
(we cannot show more than
one alv list on one screen)
c) ALV grid uses ActiveX controls
present on the Presentation Server.
Hence, it consumes More Memory
on the presentation server.
d) ALV LIST is Display Only.
Whereas
ALV Grid Can Be made EDITABLE for entry purpose.
e) In alv grid, these options are possible,
but not in alv list.
without horizontal lines
without vertical lines
without cell merging during sorts
display total lines above the entries
I hope it helps.
Regards,
Mamta

Error when trying to access the RBAC User editor and Message tracking
Hi,
I am getting an error when trying to access the RBAC User editor and Message tracking on the Web Mgmt interface. I verified that the admin account trying to access is in the Organization Management group and has the correct Role Assignment Policy applied.
I searched through this thread below and saw that matching the msExchRoleLink and msExchUserLink attributes fixed the issue.
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/fc568cc6-8691-4127-b70b-bcc82f9b1f7f/first-2010-cas-server-no-administrator-rights-emc-permissions-gone?forum=exchange2010
However I have another environment where this is not the case and works just fine; the msExchUserLink attribute has a value of CN=Organization Management,OU=Microsoft Exchange Security Groups,DC=Domain,DC=Local which is different as per the issue outlined in
the above thread so I am not convinced that this will work and also don’t want to blindly edit something in adsiedit without being sure.
I then checked the event logs on the server and saw the below error logged;
Current user: 'Domain/Server Services Accounts/administrator'
Request for URL 'https://server.domain.com/ecp/default.aspx?p=AdminDeliveryReports&exsvurl=1' failed with the following error:

I then had a look at the IIS permissions for ecp and owa. The account did not have permissions so I added them there but still got the same error. I’ve also tried all of the above with a newly-created account but still got the same issue.
Any ideas as to what the above event log is specifically referring to?Hi,
From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
If you want to search message tracking logs, the account you use should be a member of the role groups below:
Organization Management role group, Records Management role group, Recipient Management role group.
Hope this can be helpful to you.
Best regards,
Amy Wang
