Message waiting indicator isn't going away

Hello everyone,
I am having a problem. My email indicator light won't go off. I have deleted all email messages from both folders and in fact deleted all messages from all folders and yet I still apparently have an email message that is unread.
I have gone so far as to delete the email accounts and reset them and still the indicator is there. Thankfully there is no flashing light, but it is still annoying to see the email indicator.
I am now utterly confused as to what to do now. Can someone help me?

Some thoughts.
Have you hidden a message?
Rather than use the BB, have you gone to your email itself - eg Gmail - and had a look for any unread messages.
Have you set "on Conflicts" to "Mailbox Wins"

SPA303 Message Waiting Indicator for specific line only

I have an SPA303 configured with 2 lines (extensions).
I want the message waiting indicator to only show for line 2, not line 1.
I've tried going to Advanced, Voice, Ext1 and setting "Message Waiting" to No
and for Ext2 setting it to Yes.
Hit "Submit All Changes"
After phone reboots, Ext1 still says Yes, and Ext2 still says No. I cant seem to change these.
Is this the correct way to accomplish my request?

I have no SPA303 here, but it is almost identical hardware and exactly the same firmware (I assume you have the latest) as other SPA[35]0x models. I have no problem to set Message Waiting independently. I can't repeat the behavior you described.
So either your setting is overwritten by remote provisioning, or it's a complex issue related to overall configuration of phone.
Can you change setting for one extension only ? Have you provisioning configured ? Can you turn on syslog&debug and capture output ?
It may or may not help to analyze the issue.

SPA2102 Message Waiting Indicator always on

When I activate message waiting indicator (Voice - User 1 - Supplementary Service Settings - Message Waiting: Yes)
my telephone indicator light flashes continually whehter there is a message or not.
Am I missing something? Is there another setting point? This has been a problem from the start.
there was another posting exactly like this back in 2009 but it was never answered/resolved.

I have exactly the same problem. But when I desactivate message waiting indicator (Voice - User 1 - Supplementary Service Settings - Message Waiting: NO), I have no message waiting indicator (no light on an no tone) when I have a new voice mail message.
The Line 1 has MWI Serv - yes and vmwi Serv has yes too.
When I activate message waiting indicator (Voice - User 1 - Supplementary Service Settings - Message Waiting: YES), the lignt and tone are Always on whehter there is a message or not.
SPA2102, Software Version 5.2.13 (004) Hardware Version 1.3.5(a).

Hey Apple, look into this as too many posts on too many forums here verifying that the QT movies work with 3rd party browsers but even the latest Safari beta browser is only delivering audio.
ok, so maybe we aren't running intel dual processors, but we are running the latest versions of os X and QT on our PowerPC computers. someone at Apple needs to wake up and just tell us it's our problem since we haven't bought a new Intel based computer or either make a fix.
after reading so many posts in PowerPC forums --> even Tiger forums, and even QT forums about this problem it can't be explained off as "you installed something on your computer that won't let you see video in a QT movie on this official Apple website"
i expect this post to be heavily monitored or even closed for discussion - but doing so won't wash away the problem. just tell us to get a new intel-duo based mac as our older macs aren't up to par or something - or just tell us something like it's a recognized problem on older macs or video will become a problem in QT more and more with older macs.
more and more users like me are left hanging in thinking that we have installed or done something to our older macs that won't let us see video [only hear audio]. yet the fact remains that if we fire up firefox or a 3rd party browser then all works fine.

I have found a better solution that dragging the plug-in to the desktop:
I copy /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.webplugin into my local directory
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
And now I can see the videos from Apple website over Safari!
I guess "my" Safari doesn't look into the main directory, but into the local one. It should be the other way around, but at least this fixes the problem more elegantly.
Still, the thing is unclear. A colleague with a new MacBook doesn't experience this problem. His local Internet Plug-Ins are empty, and Safari runs perfectly. Weird!?!?!!?!!

Message "envelope" on Octane never goes away

When I get a new text message on my Octance and view it from the outside, the "envelope" on the front doesn't go away. If I open and view the message, the envelope will go away. I have to open my inbox and scroll through about 15 text messages before the envelope on the outside will go away. I am a HUGE texter and this is very annoying. It just started today. I have restarted my phone, even removed the battery and restarted it. HELP! please

I delete all my messages, inbox and sent, and the problem cleared up. Most have been a text message in there it didn't like.

Itunes isn't going away!

My iTunes isn't closing. A few days ago I tried closing my iTunes down and its almost like it is frozen, but I can still get on the internet. How can I get it to go away?

If you restart the computer, does that shut down iTunes?

I've been experimenting and researching for some time the various publishing/conversion options in order to put Captivate created content on YouTube. Up till now I've really resisted this because primarily there is such a hit to the quality. Software demos which are crystal clear in SWF are fuzzy and
sometimes nearly unrecognizable when published as .avi.
I've found some articles and tips (I include them below in case anyone else happens on this with the same questions) and I've tried and tested and personally I don't think the .avi options out of the box with CP4 offer a solution which produces a quality I can live with.
So now I'm going down another road and looking at swf > various video format encoders. But here again there seems to be a million available and a million options.
I am not a multi media expert. For strictly training purposes I believe Captivate with Swf output to be the very best option. However, for quick demos we need to be able to create output of a reasonable quality in a video format.
Camtasia seems to offer this functionality but lacks the other stuff I love in Captivate and I would prefer to use one product for both "real" online training materials and our quick demos.
There must be others who are experiencing these dilemmas as well.
My question is has anyone found a solution which allows them to create crisp clear software demos recorded in Captivate and available on YouTube? And if so, please point me in the right direction in terms of the best encoder, settings etc.

Hi there,
One option would be to download the CP5 trial and publish your files using this latest version. CP5 now enables you to publish straight to F4V format (both F4V and F4V Fixed Frame - which the Adobe Media Encoder supports). I have to say that as somebody who converted CP files to AVI in CP4 and experienced problems, the new F4V conversion feature works much, much better.

VM message waiting counter doesn't work on Palm Pre Plus

My voice mail message waiting counter isn't working on my Palm Pre Plus. At first, it showed messages waiting when there weren't any. I Reset Voicemail Count, and ever since then, it doesn't show any messages waiting when there are messages. i have also tried a hard reset, to no avail.
Any help is much appreciated.

Try to reset the voicemail count by going to:
1.Phone App
2.Menu
3.Preferences
4.Scroll to bottom of page and tap 'Reset Voicemail Count'.

Voicemail waiting indicator will not quit flashing

I am using the home phone connect and I had a voicemail. I deleted it and the message waiting indicator will not stop flashing. When I go into the menu it says there are no new messages. So I went into the personal options and selected message wating indicator off and the light is still flashing. Emailed customer service and they had me dial *228 and then option 2 for some sort of roaming upgrade. Didn't help the problem. Any one have any ideas? Is there a way to do a total reset?

try going into your voice mail >option 4>turn message waiting indicator on and off and then toggle between the two options

Every few minutes I receive a "not responding" message and I can do nothing until it goes away.

Every few minutes (sometimes in less than 60 sec., Firefox will hang up. If I try to keep typing I'll get a "not responding" message and will have to wait until it goes away to continue. This happens consistently when going through my e-mail, but it happens at other sights, whenever I have to type an entry. I have tried disabling all my add-ons and it still happens. I have deleted Firefox and reloaded it and the problem still occurs. I am on the verge of going back to Microsoft Explorer because it is taking far too long to navigate in Firefox. I am using Windows 7, 64 bit, on a one-year-old Dell laptop with plenty of speed, memory and hard drive space.

I have a 27" iMac mid 2011 2.7 GHz intel core i5 with OS 10.10.1. For about the last month when I shut down I get a window that says "Continue the installation Choose abort if you wish to cancel the installation ABORT   YES".   If I don't press anything or if I choose ABORT or Yes the message goes away and the computer shuts down. But the next time I use the computer and then shut down the message is back. I have looked to see if there are any downloads pending or if there are any updates trying to download. I am very puzzled.

If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.

I just had this problem and this is how I resolved it (with the help of an Apple tech)
Go into setings and see if you have Celular Data turned on.
Settings / General / Cellular - Then turn Cellular Data to ON
